Excellent theater pub. The movies are a great price, they have almost every major release eventually so it's worth the wait, plus you get ice water for free, tables, lower priced concessions and food and even beer. Recommended.

A little disappointed I've always hear good things about this theater, so we brought our son here to watch the lego movie. The pop corn was discusting it tasted like it was old/stale and for the amount we paid for popcorn I would have thought it would be better....especially since they claim they have award winning pop corn. The seat were also hard and uncomfortable

We love this theatre! The tickets are reasonably priced and it's very clean inside. The staff is friendly and the menu has a large variety. I did not enjoy the taco salad I ordered though, and remember the good being higher quality; I'm glad they gave me a fork to eat it with, because it was filled with bottom of the bag chips impossible to scoop with.

Amazing value, excellent customer services and decent food. See a movie and have dinner for the price you would pay to see a movie at another theater! $4 normal Admission when I went yesterday. So throw in a burger for maybe $8-10. Dinner and a movie date for about $30, good luck finding that somewhere else. And the theaters are comfortable and clean, abundant parking, bathrooms are nice. The only choke point is ordering food if they get a rush but even there they have plenty of help and after you order you can wait in the theater, they bring it to you. Highly recommend! Also, watch for special activities on weekends etc, including for children.

This theater is hidden behind the Panda Express and Chipotle building on Commercial. One picture is coming from the north and the other the south (I'd say which ones, but Google keeps changing the order). This a great second run movie theater. Decent meals are available, as well as dessert. The plus is the beer, wine, and cider; however - unfortunately - that is not served at the earlier movies (before 4).

My husband and I love coming here for date nights - dinner and movie. The theater has fewer seats so they can have tables in front of you for your food. The menu isn't fancy (sandwiches, wraps, salad, pizza), but it's good. Great desserts too, and the prices are very reasonable (even for popcorn and soda), especially compared to the Regal Cinema theaters. They also have beer and wine, with evening shows restricted to adults. At $4 a ticket, this is the best bargain in town!

This may not be the nicest theater, but it's nice enough. You aren't packed in like you are in other theaters, so you never have to worry about who gets the armrest between you and a stranger. The prices are good - I can take my wife to dinner and a movie for the price of just a movie almost anywhere else in town. The food is surprisingly good. The only downside is that sometimes they get your order wrong, and you just have to live with it because you don't want to miss the movie.

Best theater in town! I never go to those over-priced, over-rated theaters anymore. Northern Lights is inexpensive, serves great food, and it really doesn't take long before they get the movies. I like that you can stagger your dessert order so that it arrives later on in the movie. It's nice that they replaced every other row of seats with tables, because it not only provides a place for your meal, but it also allows for more leg room. I'm 6'3" tall, so I really appreciate all the open space.

Couldnt get in due to entire theatre booked for private event. Nothing was posted on their website. Normally great. Reply.... The show we wanted to see "A Star Is Born" plus all other viewimgs were up and posted as showimg. There was not even a note to say it was private. And the girl at the entrance said all shows were for a private party after we enquired of others. The only sign we saw was the realtor sign with a few baloons at the entrance...not even sayimg booked for private party. Just the realtor name. So no... All shows were posted as being able to see on your website.

If you can't afford the prices of the other movie houses in Salem, and you don't mind waiting awhile, you get to see top notch movies at a much reduced price....good for my wallet. Seating is cool with tables to hold your food orders...and its great food. I like the relaxed atmosphere.

I myself didn't let this discourage me from ordering any food to eat while I watched my show. And yes they do have alcohol there as well..

We loved that they are autism friendly! We enjoyed being able to eat at the table and watch Solo at the same time. My husband and I ordered the pigs in a blanket and it was yummy with the crust flakey and melted in your mouth. Our son had yummy buttery hot fresh popcorn. Definitely will be back. You have to wait a little longer for the good movies to get here, but the prices are Sooo worth the wait! The set up is nice for multiple kids too. Snacks are decently priced. Nothing fancy but the kids don't notice the difference :) Also you can usually get a buy one get one free coupon for tickets in the coupon books that are mailed out. I think they are in the "Janco Saver"..?

It's great when the chamber of commerce has their greeters meetings at northern lights food is marvelous nice selection comfortable seating you don't feel crowded and a table in front of you so that you don't have to try to hold the plate on your lap. What more could you ask for when you're listening to a lot of people talking? Great acoustics for hearing the speakers. I'm glad when business is go ahead and have the meeting at northern lights it's easy to get to and it's very comfortable to be there.

The theater was great. I attended the Geocaching Film festival. They rent out the theaters to groups. They had the concession stand open and ready at 9 am. Yes it was to make money but I liked the fact they were staffed, and ready first thing for us. Also after we were done they were getting ready for a sensory showing of Christopher Robin for people who have sensory issues. That's a great idea!

Well, my girlfriend and I wanted to see Uncle Drew at the 5:30 showing but we couldn't because minors aren't allowed in after 4 unless they are ucompanied by a parent. We are both 19 and almost 20 and I think this is ridiculous. They lost a sale and who comes in at 4 to watch a movie and drink? I think that is for alcoholics and what is a parent gonna do? We can't buy drinks anyway. Is my parent gonna buy me a drink since I can't? I thought it would be fun, but it was a huge disappointment.

I love the atmosphere and the opportunity that is offered for families to be in a clean and well organized viewing area. The tables in the sitting area is the maximum. All theaters need to follow in that example.

This is a great place to go see movies for a reasonable price and also have a pretty good meals, also for a reasonable price. Staff at Northern Lights are attentive and helpful and give great customer service. I just wish they could start showing the UFC again which I enjoyed going to see, but I understand the fact that the fights cost so much to get now, it has priced everybody out from watching them.

Northern Lights is a staple part of Salem and my childhood. This small theater is always family friendly, especially during the day. Kids are allowed until after 4pm when it's over 21 only because drinks are being served. The food is delicious, big portion sizes, and all at a good price. The movies are cheap and they do special showings for the deaf and hard of hearing, for just kids and families, sports, marathons, throwback movies, stand up comedians, and more. I highly recommend Northern Lights no matter the age! Love it!

This theatre claims to place customer satisfaction as the top priority, but I don’t understand how they can do that without even knowing the basic level of treating people with respect. I applied for a job there and showed up to my scheduled interview only to find out they had canceled on me because they’d already hired others. I saw this unprofessional behavior as disrespectful, and it was very hurtful to me.
