As of day this firm has a rating of 4.6 stars over 5 and that rating has been calculated on 999 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is virtually the best, and it is based on a large number of scores, so we may say that the valuation is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to leave their score when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to put scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Movie Theater belongs to the category of Movie theater.
Super fun local movie theater in the east side!
Good movie
While I much preferred this theatre when it was a second-run location, it still remains one of Portland's cinematic gems.
Great table for free water glass
I've been going to this theatre for only seven years, but in that time it has be one of our main movie theatres of choice in Portland. Their prices are cheaper than Cinemark/Regal, their beer and cider selection is typically pretty decent, and their leftover $1 pizza sliced at the end of the night is always something to look forward to.
It is a treat to be able to have supper and movie and have a small table to put your food on while watching. I wouldn't go there just for food but having it with the movie is worthwhile. Older theater with mildly sloping floor.
Cute theater, 6$ movies on Tuesday and a nice selection of food in the area. Screen is a little small, but you don't really notice when the movies on. Good sound, and food and drink on offer.
I saw Jurassic World there, and ate the Jurassic Pork pizza! Such a lovely experience! The theater is small and cozy without the typical modern theater feel. Also it's affordable!
Small, cozy, friendly and always a delight.
Went in the wrong direction. Affordable revivals and lesser known second run titles were fun and exciting. I would make it an event/destination when interesting screenings were booked. We can all go, and most likely will, anywhere else (with better facilities for the ticket price) to see a run-of-the-mill first run feature. From an ultra-budget double-feature paradise, to a second-run/revival house, to the beer and pizza upgrade I was along for the ride. Unfortunately, this is where we part ways.
False advertising and extremely rude staff
Very dissatisfied with service I received from the older man with a vague resemblance to Alec Guinness at the concession stand last night....we bought two slices of pizza without any problem...when we went over to condiment area and I went to open a local habenero sauce they offered, the sauce sprayed out of the container...my suspicion is that the sauce is perishable and needs to be refrigerated or kept on ice because it shot out in a spray (please know that I wasn’t squeezing the bottle in any way so when it shot out I was pretty surprised)...the sauce coated my shirt with numerous blotches of sauce and also rained over the slices of pizza I had just purchased. Decided I should let the gentleman working the stand know about the sauce and replace our slices with new ones so we could avoid the fermenting sauce. Waited in line again to make my request, I let the guy know that I was pretty sure his hot sauce was going off and that we’d like some new slices that didn’t have sauce on them. The disdainful glare I received from the gentleman behind the counter for this information was pretty easy to interpret. He prepared two more slices and tossed them onto the counter at me without any acknowledgement at all. Really sucks when you approach an employee of an establishment with a legitimate concern about their food safety and they treat you with serious “F you” attitude in return. All I can figure is that he was having a tough day or that he was convinced the stains all over my shirt and the pizza slices were self inflicted. Have enjoyed going to LT for over 23 years and think the management has done a fine job overall...but maybe it’s time for some staff reminders about courteous interactions with all patrons, even those who are having a bad experience. Will go back but with the hope that staff attitude improves.
Great food with a first run movie... Add the beer or wine and it's a winner every time.
Great neighborhood place to watch a movie, eat some pizza and drink a beer
Good pizza, first run movies at a good price.
The Laurelhurst is one of my favorite theatres in Portland. Very affordable, really friendly staff, great rotation of new and retro flicks. There are also tons of bars and restaurants in the neighborhood, so it's a great place to include in your date night
It's a decent theater seating could have been better and the prices could be better never really go to movies anymore due to expensive pricing at most theaters now days
If i could review them from a couple years ago i would have given them 5 stars. However, now that they're charging dang near Cinemark/Regal pricing for first run movies in inferior (well not inferior but older tech screens/sound systems) I have to ask why? Your segment is second run and independent films at value prices, the first run theaters are offering deals and promos all the time that either rival or beat the new prices here. I guess the draw is I can buy craft beer here than at the other locations... but then that's what bags or purses are for. If the price increase is for the benefit of the employees I'll gladly pay it, but something tells me the employees are not going to receive an increase or health benefits from the new pricing structure to quote a horrendous human being "SAD"
This is my neighborhood theater, and I love it. The seats are comfortable, and the menu includes pizza, beer, cider, and kombucha.
Very disappointed and displeased with my recent experience at this theatre. Purchased tickets online ahead of time for show - thus expecting to turn up, have them scanned, and view film. The charge included a "service" fee. Instead, after searching for parking for several minutes, my husband and I arrived to a queue stretching round the block. We proceeded to the entrance, assuming that since we already had tickets, we could head in. We were then presented with a sign on the door saying that if you had purchased tickets online, they had to be "redeemed" at the box office - meaning we had to join the queue. We confirmed with others waiting that this was indeed the case. As we approached the box office (after already waiting about 15 minutes), some staff member came out and made a barely audible announcement, which seemed to be that those who had purchased tickets online could come inside and join a different queue to be checked in. We opted to stay put. By the time we reached the box office, the film was sold out and the start time had already passed. We thus requested a refund; the only bright point of the experience was the apologetic cashier who gave us a refund with no hassle. I contacted the management by email immediately following regarding this inconvenient and inefficient practice and have received no response whatsoever. It is ridiculous to permit online purchase of tickets with an extra "service" fee (for what does this possibly pay?) for a film only to require customers to then wait in queue to "redeem" said tickets. Just another example of what makes Portland seem like an amateur small town masquerading as a city. We do not plan to return to this cinema.
Lots of rad second-run movies. It’s a cute theater.
This is a great little theater to come and have a drink and something to eat while watching movies that you don't see in big chain theaters for the most part.
Old Portland theatre that could have been charming if not for the aloof counter service.
New and improved Laurelhurst Theatre now with first run movies. The Laurelhurst has always been a great place to watch older movies, but they have upgraded for first run movies. Same good selection of food and drinks, the pint and popcorn combo is definitely a winner. My concern was with the actual theaters. But upgraded seats, screen, and sound makes for a great place to watch a movie.
Love this place great prices pizza and beer
Aside from the occasional Disney takeover, this place shows the best movies and shows them far longer than the other theaters. Tons of leg room, which is great as a tall person, and also makes it minimally obtrusive for the people who take advantage of the pitcher deals and have to duck out to pee once or twice or three times.
I’m a little bummed this theater has changed to first run and raised heir prices but none the less a great neighborhood theater with better prices than almost all other theaters. Popcorn pizza and beer what more can you ask for.
This place used to be great for the price ( used to be four dollars) now they have changed to nine dollars, more than double, and I'd no longer worth it. Plenty of theaters that charge this amount, have way better accommodations. I'm sad to see a fun quick night out gone.
I can't believe you threw my friend and her husband out because someone "saved" their seats and threw a beer at them. You didn't even ask the person that threw the beer to leave. We hate to throw the race card, but she is black and her husband white....seems odd you would let the other couple stay after such behavior and with others supporting my friend and her husband. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Not sure who the manager is, but the owners need to get involved. My understanding is the police are on their way. Portland has always been accepting of all races and for your venue to act in this way is unacceptable.
Love the old marquee and the cheaper movie tickets. The rows are a bit cramped, which is my only complaint. Other than that, the service is good and the theater is cool.
Classic old neighborhood, but updated movie place ... Wouldn't come to any place else ... Good beer and pizza !!!
Favorite theater in Portland by far.
You can't go wrong with a movie and pizza!
I'm lazy and never get around to seeing movies until they're already put of theaters so I LOVE coming here to see movies way after they've come out for so much cheaper. Plus they have delicious snacks and drinks. No complaints!
What a great place to catch a movie and to enjoy a hard cider! Matinees are only 6 bucks before 5:30.
I will never come back to this establishment until they amend for their recent RACIST actions! Even then, I still won't come back. Management definitely reflects the views of the owners who hire them.
Great Move movie theater that shows many different movies at the same time which is awesome. The tickets prices were amazing --- even a discount for seniors. It’s fun to eat Pizza beer and popcorn while watching a movie. They change the movies often so definitely check the listings for the day you’re going.
I like the tables a lot. Weird height though. Beautiful entry to the theatre and good deals. Fancy bears and some tasty food options. Clean bathrooms
Such a cool place. I really love the old vintage theaters around downtown Portland. This was a great find!
Local, affordable and comfortable.
A great place to catch a flic. Comfey chairs. Great selection for movie munchies and drinks, young and old. Love the theaters here in Portland.
Nothing special. Has a nice paved and dirt path to run. Some basketball and tennis courts, play structures, swings. They are kind of separate from running path area. Running path area has lots of open space to hold a picnic, so martial art type things, read a book, relax. As a Michigander, I enjoyed this park
Inexpensive movies, spacious seats, and pitchers of beer? Seriously what more could you ask for? I love this theater. They have a great selection of movies at affordable prices. The food and drink selection is good and not overpriced.
We had a nice time
Great theater! Seating is comfortable, good selection of drinks and snacks, love the tables for drinks/food, Tuesdays are $6. The only downsides are you can hear the movies in adjacent theaters and pizza isn't that great. Overall, I definitely recommend Laurelhurst Theater.
Awesome small four screen theater, good concessions including pizza and beer, affordable prices
Affordable ticket prices. Not a lot of parking, so get there early if you can. Grab some foodat the concession stand and take it into the theater with you. They have table in front of the seats where you can set your drink.
This place was pretty nice. Good pizza and cheap new movies. I recommend checking this place out!!
I liked the movie I watched. My only issues were the chairs are uncomfortable. And they dont except google pay for payment. Only apple pay. Not everyone has iphone
Iconic!
My sister and I came to see a movie during the afternoon but we were turned away because I had to be accompanied by a PARENT despite my sister being over 21. We ended up having to call our mom to accompany us in order to get admitted. Very frustrated with this policy and it should be changed.
I love the staff here. They are so nice and it's great to be able to eat a slice while watching a great movi. This is one of my favorite spots for a weekday show
My favorite little theater!
Always have had a fun movie experience here. Classic old theater geometry, with convenient tables for food and drink.... think pizza and beer. Evening shows are adult only.
It's old but good
Stellar customer service; affordable; and there's off-street parking. Nice theater.
I love this theater. Staff was amazing. The cookie was really good and the food smelled delicious. Bathrooms felt super fancy lol
EXCELLENT theater and very friendly and attentive staff. Show time were accurate,
Quality Cozy
Beer, pizza, and movies. What else do you need?
Been coming here for years and I just... It's the best
Very nice theater. Food and beer and friendly staff. Comfortable seats with tables. A great place to see a movie and a great value.
Support your local businesses! This is a great place to get a beer and a slice while you catch a flick. Showing first run movies now!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Pizza was good and affordable. Alcoholic beverages were also a decent price. Clean restrooms. We had a great time!
Laurelhurst is a great alternative to the chain multiplexes. Great pizza & local beers if you need a meal with your movie! However, since switching to a first run theater and upping their prices, it’s starting to feel a bit more corporate.
Excellent food and comfortable cozy theaters
Can't beat a first run matinee for $6 at this classic old school theater. They have great gourmet pizza, wine, beer and the standard candy, popcorn and soda assortment. Theater seats have tables and drink holders.
This place is so cute and quirky and I'm so glad I decided to check it out. I was staying in the downtown area and so it was a short drive from my hotel compared to other theaters within walking distance, but it was worth it. This place is the best, you can buy your tickets online which is super convenient. We had pizza, popcorn, and a pitcher of the sweet cider and it was so reasonably priced. I was stoked upon entering the theater to see little tables! Eating in a movie theater has never been so easy. Also, the washrooms were clean and the staff here were very friendly and welcoming.
Very friendly staff, delicious popcorns with a butter and even better ticket prices!
Comfortable seats, good sound. Pizza, soda, beer available.
Cheap tickets, excellent pizza and beer! Yay!
Small but comfortable theater. Spacious comfortable seats and great popcorn! Prices are great...definitely cheaper than movie theater chain prices for tix, drinks and food.
Way too expensive now! Not worth it at all— they claim they are now “first run”, charge much more, and don’t upgrade the facilities. I used to love this place so much but I will never go back.
Old fashioned fun!
Pizza beer movies. What's not to love?
This is a cute second run theater. They have tasty food with huge fresh baked cookies for two bucks. The theatre has tables that make it easy to eat your pizza and drink you beer. The staff is considerate and friendly. It's one of the better second run theaters in town.
I like the pizza.
This might be the cheapest theater in Portland, which is great. Tickets are like three or four dollars. The place is historic at best but also seems pretty run down, especially the bathrooms. One nice aspect is the extra room in the seating area with tables. If you get there early you can get one of these seats and stretch out your legs.
Watched a pretty decent movie. Was a bit cheaper than a Regal Movie theatre and let me bring in my backpack, which Regal does not allow. I appreciate that! I ride on my bike a lot and use a backpack, when I do so.
Cool indie movie theater. Good prices and pleasant staff. You need to see a movie, grab a slice and drink a beer here.
One of my favorite spots to grab pizza and beer and catch a movie.
Quaint spot to see a film, a great staff, and best of all, non-highway-robbery ticket prices. Will come again!
Great time at the movies but the pizza could have been better.
If you like beer and a movie, this theater is the place to go to while in Portland
Vintage first run pub theater is quintessentially Portland. Eat local beer and pizza at great prices then pop into the photo booth.
My husband and I love this theater for a dinner and a movie date! Pizza, popcorn, and hard cider with a wide variety of movies (we've seen both The Thing from the 80's and the newly released The Favorite there). Parking is moderate for Portland and pricing is cheaper than a regular Regal theater.
What happened to this once wonderful and iconic establishment that was actually of quality? I just moved back to the city, and sadly found that Laurelhurst has undergone new ownership and policy. No more classic reruns at an affordable price. I would have paid your current price to continue having a place to enjoy the greats. Your selection is cliche, watered down, and clearly caters to the superficial. You were my and a large portion of this cities favorite staple that represented why this city was special. Shame on you....and sad days.
Always great food and a good time!
Love this local theater!
Wonderful old theater. Good popcorn snacks are not over priced.
It's like going to the movies in a small town with it nostalgic looks and feel. I will most definitely be back for other movies .
Just amazing! whoooo. love this place.
Love, love, love this theater. Everyone is always so smiley here. Why wouldn't you be? Beer. $3 movies. Great art deco atmosphere. But seriously, the movies have cost only $3 for at least 20 years. The only slight criticism is that blacks aren't quite black enough in one theater. But it's $3. Did I mention great beer and friendly service?
If I could give 0 stars I would. My friend who is a black woman and her boyfriend we're assaulted by an angry white man the other night when going to see Sorry To Bother You, and management let the abuser stay and asked them to live. I will not stand for a racist establishment to get away with such behavior.
Interesting theaters with nice seats and a decent screen for the room size. I honestly still prefer Academy but I think Laurelhurst has first run movies now. Beer is decently priced.
Very good pizza, garden salad, and good choices of micro brews can be had while watching movies in comfortable seats.
A good small theater for first and second run movies with in house concessions such as pizza. Alcohol on tap. Good way to avoid the noise, lights traffic and the crowd at large theaters.
This theater serves $5 "pints" in dingy plastic cups that are significantly less volume than even a typical 16oz American pint. I won't be returning, but the theater itself was nice and there was lots of space to maneuver along the rows so maybe give it a shot.
A great family theater now doing first run movies at a fair price. Pizza, salads, beer and wine in cozy little theater with great resturants all around it.
I will always love the Laurelhurst. Great pizza. Great popcorn. They have all the important condiments: nooch. ranch. parmesan. The owners are rad people. They play great movies. 10/10
It’s an ok theatre, not necessarily my favorite vintage theatre in Portland. $10 cover, which is higher than other vintage theaters in the area but still cheaper than your mainstream theaters like Regal or AMC. You will find mostly new movie releases here. Food such as pizza taste more like bar food if you know what I mean. I’d say stick to popcorn
Lame food, old theatre w bad sound. But not terrible. Awful parking options.
Always love this place. Pizza, and popcorn for the Spiderman movie! Lots of fun.
Funky little theater that shows all kinds of movies, and can be a good place to catch blockbusters after they have been out a while, so you don't have to fight the crowds, as well as that independent film you've heard so much about. Has pizza at the concessions, and the real stuff, not that frozen, factory made stuff so many theaters overcharge you for. Decent seats and leg room, too.
My girlfriend and I were visiting from Seattle and we stumbled across this theatre. I would drive all the way back here every weekend if I could. Exceptionally priced movies, surprising selection of beers, great food and friendly service.
great small but intimate old school movie theater in Portland!
Decent movies selection but you can hear the theater adjacent to you so it is hard to stay in the movie. No refills on popcorn, 1$ refills on soda.
This is a great theater to see second-run films
My favorite second-run theater in the Portland area. Pizza, beer, popcorn, and $4 films. What more could one ask? They also have a number of screens, so there are quite a number of choices each week, ranging from big budget to indie and foreign films. I also love the classic film of the week... A great opportunity to see some of my favorite films on the big screen!
Love this theatre. Great food and atmosphere
The best little movie theater anywhere. $4 for a movie, plus dive bar prices for beer & popcorn & (really good) pizza & popcorn. Hell yeah. Plus if you're there for the last show of the night, they'll be selling $1 leftover pizza when you come out. The Laurelhurst is really one of the best things about Portland.
Good little theater with good food selection. The theaters themselves are a bit weird. The screens are fairly small, but the rooms are very long, allowing a lot of seating up to the point where you're comically far back.
Great theater for night out with the wife. Great beer and pizza too! Use to be cheaper but now they have 1st run movies.
Fun small theater with beer and other goodies. Great viewing experience.
Loved this place. Took me back to my childhood. Old fashioned, no frills movie theater. Great popcorn and they don't skimp on the butter. The admission is fair and the other food looked good. Good movie choices.
Awesome theater.. great place to have a beer and see a movie
Dropped my 14 year old off for some summer fun and a PG 13 kid movie, movie started at 6:30. When we got to the window we were told that children need to be accompied by an adult. Come on I really do not want to see "the next big teen movie of the summer". Now Forced to watch a movie and not let the kid have some quality kid friend time. would be noce if this was posted on the website not just the door (which states after 8). The OLCC requires minors to be out by 10pm (unless it's changed recently), but it's up to the establishment to determine exactly when they want to go kid free. Generally speaking, family-oriented places (like HUB and Laurelwood) tend to allow kids as late as possible to capture as much available business as they can, while other places that are more alcohol-focused (like the Horsebrass) tend to go kid free earlier in the evening so that they can attract people who don't want to be surrounded by children while they get drunk. This is a theater we are talking about and the rule is food must be available and clearly we go to a movie to enjoy the show. do we really care how old the patrons are at 6:30?
We love to come here for a comfortable relaxed movie
Too dark to see should you arrive past previews. No floor lighting for guidance AT ALL. Could hear Toy Story 4 playing through the wall while we were trying to watch Midsommer. That sucked. Lol. Maybe just a bit better timing between theatres...
Me and a friend were super excited to see Jurassic World : The Fallen Kingdom at this theater. We went in, purchased our popcorn, and sat down to get comfy. Alas, ten seconds later an attendant, who watched us come in and assisted our purchase, tells us to leave the establishment because we don’t have a legal guardian. At 3:00 pm on a 95 degree day. I can assure that I will not be returning to this theater, let alone recommending it to anyone else. I hope this review helps others make a decision as to where to see their movies.
If you’re looking for faux shills and thrills, go to another cinema. However, if you’re looking for a one of kind experience, with appropriate seating, incredibly decent pizza, and a draft list that kills compared to most frilly places, come to Laurelhurst Theatre! I love this place. Aisles with dining trays for a one of a kind experience, the bathrooms are ALWAYS clean AND EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE... Every. Time. Clean seats, clean floors. Most importantly, clean bathrooms!
My favorite theater in town! Been going here for years. Great beer and pizza as well as prices! Love that they play a classic movie every week. The staff is friendly which give this theater a nice laid back feeling.
A great theater with a wonderful staff. Prices are cheap and the seats are comfortable. Get a beer and relax. Their pitchers are great deals and their bathrooms are nice for when you inevitably have to pee halfway through.
My favorite theater in Portland. They've updated their seats to nice leather ones but now there are no longer tables to put your pizza/beers down in front of you. Either way I still prefer this place for the ambiance and the mix of movies they play. Great theater.
Enjoyable old style movie theater with good pricing for seniors.
Was 5 stars when it ran 2nd run films. Great value. Was fun to go to and enjoy a weeknight evening watching films I missed at the large theatres. Went back 3 times to watch Blade Runner with different people and beer and pizza every time. I don’t think the price increase and one blockbuster at a time for 3-4 weeks straight with a bunch of 2nd run and indie films will translate to more ticket/concessions sales. 3 stars for having all day matinee on Tuesdays. Otherwise 2 stars at most.
Great movie selection, good pizza, fun atmosphere. Go in the afternoon for no crowds.
Great theatre! Good beer selection and the pizza is pretty good. Usually not as busy as other theatres and the tickets are pretty cheap
Great theater with very comfortable seating and great selection of snacks. I was pleasantly surprised at the top notch movies being shown. I had thought they only had second running movies, but no! I will be searching this theater first from now on.
Enjoyed the movie experience at Laurelhurst Theatre. The pizza was good, seats were comfy, good sound and picture quality. Will go again soon!
Tasty vegan buttered popcorn and clean, comfy seats!!
Good price and beer selection
Such a great theater. Low prices for new movies and you can get pizza (even vegan!) and pitchers of beer. What more could you want?
Not the biggest theater by a long shot, but a great pub theater showing first run films. They've got pizza in addition to popcorn and other theater classics. And most importantly you can get pitchers of beer so you don't have to to leave your seat mid-movie. And the tickets are cheaper than what you would spend at a standard multiplex.
I have been going there when it had double features for $1.50. Although I dont like the switch to the first run movies I still cant get deny how the charm from the 90s is still there without the stench. They serve beer and pizza. And its cozy and intimate. Although I miss the being able to see a 2nd run flick for a value deal still love the place. Matinee price is very reasonable.
It's cozy and very reasonably priced. If you're expecting big sound and IMAX 3D, this isn't the theater for you. If you like cheap tickets and fairly priced food, come on over.
Asked for a refund to my card very simple transaction, the very rude lady at the ticket counter gave me multiple problems when trying to do so like "why do you want a refund" "why did you come if you dont want to see the movie" , after being told the money was put back on my card "instantly" as the lady said I left the theater only to find that the money was not put back but I know transfers take so time so I gave it a few days and I have yet to be paid back, the people on the phone at the theater dont believe that I wasn't paid back and say "if a receipt printed out then I got paid back" all around the staff are rude and unreasonable and the theater Is way overpriced just go somewhere else.
Great craft beer and pizza! Fun, nostalgic place.
Great little old style theatre plus pizza and beer. Good price
Lovely old theater. Really enjoyed it. Only issue us no small lighting to find your way to seats....
Bummed that they went to first-run movies and upped the administration price but the beer is still cold and the new seats are more comfortable. Go on Tuesdays for matinee prices all day. The pizza is still mediocre.
Nice place good pizza
Great! Cute! Bummed they raised prices, but understand why. And it's nice that Tuesdays are discounted. But honestly haven't been back since because of that [though it's still reasonable, just more than double the previous price and eats up my fun budget quicker]. Look forward to returning when I can.
Loved this theatre! I’m a movie Addict and this place had everything! Best part is no dumb ads before the movie.
I haven't been to Laurelhurst Theater for about 50 years, but it was a wonderful place back then. Admission was 25 cents for a double feature. I lived nearby and saw many great movies there--Singing in the Rain, I remember, and Letter to Theee Wives. Many more.
So comfortable. Great beer menu. And convenient homemade pizza, tons of choices.
One of my favorite theaters in Portland. Great location and even though they are doing first run movies, it's still reasonably priced. Plus you can get beer, cider, wine, snacks, pizza and of course popcorn. It's a great old theater.
Movie, popcorn and beer in a great atmosphere, enough said.
Chuck and I are going to be a paranoid person with the entire city of Longmont to do this and it is a great place
This place is one of my favorite theaters.
Fun local theater. Didn't have the pizza but had a nice variety. Good prices on popcorn and good combo prices!
Comfortable seats. Good eats. Great spot for a casual date.
Great theatre with comfy chairs, and a good beer selection
If you missed a show in the first run theater, then this is a good place to catch it before video. Great food, think pizza, and several drink options. Reasonable prices. Small intimate theaters.
love this place ..several taps with local brews, several pizza pies, some wine ..noyce
I love me a small theater. Good pizza and beer. You can occasionally hear other movies during quit parts of your own but it's not bad
