REVIEWS OF AMC Vancouver Mall 23 IN Oregon

Jerry Livengood

All the same prices as Cinetopia, without the perks of food and bar service. Stupid move, considering people would drive an hour just to go there, and now there's no incentive.

Kristin S

Horrible horrible horrible experience! We will never come back! The movie started at 7:00pm and they didnt turn the screen on until 7:07pm. Like aren't there suppose to be a bunch of annoying commercials and advertisements an hour to 30 mins before that movie starts? We were literally sitting and staring at a blank screen for 30 mins, before the movie started, with the sounds of advertisements playing in the background. ON ANOTHER NOTE THE VOLUME WAS EXTREMELY HIGH, LIKE SUPER SUPER LOUD! Lastly, and this is why we left 2 or 3 mins into the beginning of the movie, the screen looked as those it was moving back and forth, like the movie was flickering from side to side. It started making me dizzy. We got our money back and went to another cinema! P.S. Please hire people who can count change I had to tell the cashier how much money to give back.

Brian Brown

Food Could be better. Could provide better tables to eat your food at in the theatre. Plate slid off the table and I lost my Dinner on the floor.

Maria Garcia

I hate that one they took the food !!away!! Prices are crazzy!!! It's too pricey for just candy and popcorn!!! Why did cinetopia sell to this company I'm bummed I give Half a star

Mick English

Okay they could always improve the way things arethey have no coffee is still have the old cinetopia stuff and haven't put it in their own yet movies just not enough movies out there to go to three a week there's a lot of poor not a good number of the a A-Team whatever it is VA club not that good right nowI hope you can freeze the whole thing because that's what they have you can exit for a while if you're going away for a month or something I don't know how it's rent got to get some moreanyway I think they're trying to do their best I guess that's about all they can do they just barely bought it not not but two or three

Cecily Bequette

Great experience if you can get someone to sell you a ticket. Lines are a little long and slow but friendly. I recommend getting your tickets in advance or online

Kyle Kunze

Love this place. If you are 21, get 21+ tickets. So nice.

Brandi F

Tested out the movie parlor. Was fairly nice. Still had good sound and screen quality. Some of the pillows and couches we're a bit less fluffy because of their age. Was disappointed that the restaurant's in-theater service was closed when I went.

Ava Miller

It's a good mall.

James McClung

We always like coming to this location mostly because of the comfy lounge seating. Came here for a movie today that wont be starting for an hour or so for some play time prior to the movie, went to use the restroom and was redirected to a location outside of the theater across the mall because they dont have one for the "public". What kinda theater does not have a public restroom? We Will be finding another theater to go to today and for future visits. Last thing i want is for my family to need a restroom and have to go elsewhere for it. Thanks AMC.

Phoebe Schram

I love watching movies. I totally love the popcorn and bring able to have a legit meal during a film is finely next level. My only complaint is it seems like as soon as the movie starts they pump up the AC as if we need to be transported to a freezing climate to stay in our seats. I always bring a blanket.

Sabrina Hisey

Apparently AMC bought out all cinetopia locations. That means no more bartender service or food from the theater besides consessions. Very dissapointed in the customer service. The screen wasn't working, just the sound. I told one of the employees 15 minutes before the movie was supposed to start. Our movie started and the screen still wasn't working. I went again to complain about it. Apparently my second time informing someone was the managers first time hearing about it. Finally 8 minutes into the movie, the screen was working. Once the movie started, all of the lights were still on. If I'm going to a theater, even a cheap one, I'm expecting to watch it with the lights off or very dim. In addition, AMC is not allowed to butter or salt your popcorn. You have to do it yourself. I feel like butter and salt should already be on your popcorn already. No salt packets available if you want more salt on your popcorn. $14 for a matenee. Nothing special about this place except for the reclining chairs. Definitely overpriced and overrated. I used to love coming here when it was still cinetopia. AMC has ruined this theater for me. I will not be coming back.

REZ LONGBOARDS

Feels like you're getting the knock off brand of Cinetopia for full price, we miss Cinetopia ...RIP :(

Pam Larsen

We saw Aladdin which was wonderful, however since the takeover from Cinetopia they were not ready to open. The workers were nice but they were understaffed. The line to get tickets was too long. They only had popcorn, drinks and candy. I understand they wanted to open with so good movies out but they needed to be better prepared with concessions. Hopefully it will improve.

Savannah

AMC ruined this place, no longer going here. Before it was taken over the extra money on nice seats, food service, and great location were key aspects. Now the place is chaotic and disgusting. Such a shame.

Jon D

Things have changed and not for the better. We paid higher prices to sit in the parlor and be able to order food and drinks. We skipped dinner to eat during the movie and they stopped serving food and drinks. They had one person managing the concessions and it felt like a waste of money. Next time we will just hit regal and save a few bucks.

Isabel Prince

Older theater, older seats, definitely not amcs best and needs some tlc. We are originally from Kansas, where amc has their headquarters, this theater definitely isn’t amc quality or worth the price.

Frank Morris

Super frustrating experience. What is the point of purchasing tickets before arriving if you are directed to wait in line to print off new copies, after which, you are informed you still have to then go up stairs. Anticipate needs, guys! Constantly understaffed, and the cleanliness has gone downhill steadily.

Mark Mickel

Love the parlor theater rooms

Duane Greenbay

Didnt go there you tell me

Raymond Perry

Had the best experience renting a movie parlour here. Booked a group of 17 for a private viewing of captain marvel. Service was top notch, food was decent and the memories priceless.

Jason Salisbury

For those who don't know AMC is the old cinetopia theaters. I was worried that it would go downhill will AMC but so far is seems to be an improvement. Better prices larger candies for about the same price. Better uniforms for their employees. Time will tell but a good start.

Evone Manzella

Not impressed with the theater after the aquisition. The 21 and over section has no purpose, they do not serve food and beverage like Cinetopia. Really disappointing that its been converted to a regular movie theater and lost its movie "experience".

Galan wall

Leave it to AMC to mess up another theater experience... I liked being able to order a pitcher of beer and a nacho right from my seat, its really the only thing that got me back into going to theaters, and the occasional live music was a nice touch. I wont be revisiting.

David Deeley

I miss the old cinetopia but movies do play well at this theator and the staff is friendly. No renovations yet though for AMC. I thought that, once an aquisition happens, companies renovate right away. AMC hasn't done that or provided any food. If you don't care about that then you will enjoy yourself, it's cinetopia without all the nice amenities that made cinetopia, well cinetopia. I will note that AMC stubs is great but AMC needs to do renovations make cinetopia AMC not just put there name on something.

Ronnie Lewis

Large theater with good seats and viewing experience. 2 things though.... Can I get a smaller popcorn and 22 minutes of trailers? Seriously

Greg Richards

We love the little theaters with the couches and pillows and food service if hungry.

Nicole Benoit

25 minutes of preview and beer isn’t available in the 21 and over section. We won’t be back.

Truth Unveiled

I realize my experience may not be typical, but here it is anyways. When I showed up I could only see 1 employee in the entire place. Waited 20 minutes in line, to find out the movie I wanted to see was sold out. As I got closer to the ticket desk, I could see the concession stand was closed. I will not be giving them another chance.

Constance Belmont

Very overpriced for a ticket. No longer a dinner menu or in theater service like Cinetopia had. So unsure what the ticket price is paying for? Seats and the table on the seat were dirty. I paid almost $5 for a small bottle of warm water. When asked for a cold one, response was , we do t have any....Service was not great. Cinetopia was a wayyy better experience and horrible that they are gone!

Keith Ramsey

AMC isn't even trying to improve the facilities. Truly sad. Insulting.

Robin Arnold

We went to see Aladdin, and the movie theatre is just a shell of what it used to be as cinetopia. AMC theaters in Phoenix were very well kept, so unlike this theatre. Hopefully they will be nice someday, but we are staying away for now. They are dirty and hardly any concessions. We will be going to Regal when we want to see a movie. So sad because this used to be a favorite place for so many people.

Connor Geisen

Went to see IT2 pretty good experience

J J

Good is decent but expensive. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Movie parlor chairs are comfortable and is super nice to stretch out

Andrea S

What a dreadful experience. Cinetopia used to be a twice a month stop for my family of four. We’d spend close to $200 per trip for the living room seats, dinner and drinks. AMC destroyed this theater. The bathrooms are horrible, the food was awful, the seats were gross, the staff was slow and they sold us tickets to the wrong theater then didn’t refund all of what I spent... I won’t come back here again.

Brandi Collum

This review is for AMC. The theater is poorly maintained and unkept. Many of the chairs are squeaky and loud. My seat was broken. The lights on the wall shine on the screen. The lobby floors are disgusting. Ticket counter had a giant line and only one was open even though it's Friday night. I will not go back. Everytime anyone moved around us their chairs creaked loudly. Just unacceptable.

Shanda Owens

The resturant was down so just the over priced popcorn and candys for us took my kids to see toy story 4 it was spacious clean and the guy at the counter was nice and didnt mind helping is at all less the 40 bucks for my little family of 4

Joan Hershey

Wonderful staff at the ticket counter. Seating was easy, nice and comfortable! Add in movie popcorn and a great movie (Aladdin) and you get 5 stars!

Brian Coleman

Large theaters with great visual and audio quality. I like that you reserve seats. So but your tickets early and then you don't have to wait in line to get a good seat or get stick with a bad one

A New You

Going through some changes obviously, but once they have better offerings for the snacks. I think the popcorn, one drink, 2 icees and 2 candies cost more than the 4 matinees movie stubs. So some combos would be appreciated or I'll just have to bring in my own for there. AMC now. Regal has their own rewards and combos to compare.

Melody McKinley

My experience in the balcony was a real dissappointment. When AMC first opened the seats were new and clean and the floor was clean and the lighting was good. As always, it's way too loud for my sensitive hearing, but I love the over all movie theatre experience. But the balcony seats wete old and torn leather seats that were so uncomfortable! The recline was not adjustable and we had to strain to sit so far upright on the edge of the seat in order to see over the prtition of the balcony or we could not see the bottom 5th of the full screen picture! It just wasn't pleasant at all. I will stick to our favorite seats in the main seating area from now on. Not putting myself through that torture again! Or a will just stay home!

Danielle Champiet-Coronado

Very comfortable. Like watching a movie on a very big screen in your living room.

Allison Baylous

We loved Cinetopia for the great service, restaurant and drinks. Visited after AMC took over and we will not be back. Service was okay at best, there’s no restaurant or drinks. Our popcorn was burnt and bland. The theater was super hot then really cold and dirty. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

Jacob Evans

A lot of bad publicity has been circulating AMC taking over Cinetopia so I just want to say that the acquisition has been amazing! Theres a lot more structure and funding to support the theater like never before. And for anyone who says AMC "got rid of the bar and alcohol" have got it misinformed. AMC wanted to remodel the bar and this location needed to acquire a new liquor license. That takes time and obviously they cant have the bar open during those things. I just wish social media was more truthful about whats going on here and not taking third hand information as fact. AMC prides itself on excellent service and a wonderful movie going experience! Just give time for the old Cinetopia locations to build themselves up instead of tearing them down.

Andy M.

Dad it's not cinetpoia anymore! Do they sell good and alcohol now? They stopped right after the switch over.

Owen Thornhill

Used serve alcohol before the takeover, would get 5 star otherwise.

Jamie Smithline

First time to amc and got a broken seat. Second time here and amc is closed with employees waiting outside not knowing what's going on. 12:22pm and movie starts at 1230. Sorry AMC. Pure failure

Samantha Mitchell-Jenkins

Great movie and yummy caramel corn

greg loos

Disappointing compared to cinetopia. There staff is less friendly, they seem to have ALOT less staff it is the 6pm and we saw 3 staff. Not alot of people for the time of day. They no longer offer food in the movies.

mike kozub

We went to the parlor room where they have those nice luxury couches but they where all dirty and gross. They had stains all over the fabric and pillows. We order popcorn drinks and some fries. The fries where good the popcorn however it tasted like it was from the bottom of the machine made 3 days ago then they drenched it butter. Now I normally like a lot of butter on my popcorn but this was over kill definitely didn't help the stale popcorn. The drinks we order took over half an hr to arrive for some simple beers. I remember going here when they opened and lots of times after but it went downhill a lot. I wouldn't eat the food nor pay extra to get stain luxuries seats. After this experience I'd rather wait and get the movie from red box.

Patty Butterfield

We we're just there to watch a movie. They had help wanted signs for cooks and Bartender. But upon purchasing tickets were informed there was no more restaurant or bar. I asked why the help wanted signs? We we told oh, haha is that still there? They we're out of soda ( we were at first movie of the day), during the previews we had only sound, blank screen. When notified them about it, they said, ya we know but it's just previews your missing, hopefully it will be fixed when movie starts. Which it was. My husband need assisted hearing device and was told they didn't know where they are. Post movie woman's bathroom towel dispensers we're out of order. We used to love this theater, not sure we will be back.

McKarty Karuo

Best place to watch movies very clean

Rebekah Rossetti

Absolutely horrible experience! My aunt, cousin, and I went to see Downton Abbey. None of the amenities were available. Poor customer service. We now have a bad taste in our mouths about coming here.

Keirstyn Price

High pitched whistling sound the entire time we watched our movie, dead blue pixel stuck on screen, concessions out of order. Not the best experience. Edit: Went back several months later after it made the switch from Cinetopia to AMC theaters and saw a movie in the same area as my last visit. Still had an issue with the one stuck blue pixel and slight whistle the whole movie. Won't be coming back to this location, which is really unfortunate as I really do love their comfortable seating areas.

Carolyn Migotti

This is a huge Mall. Very clean. Every kind of Store u can imagine. I especially like the Children's Store there. You can even buy gently used clothing for babies.

Mel Zimmer

Wonderful leather loveseats.. with foot rest .. very relaxing. Small theater rooms but I actually loved it. Popcorn good.

Matthew Smith

Nice theater. Sat in the Balcony with in seat service for concessions and alcohol available (21+) required for that section. Prices aren't to bad on par with movie prices which are a premium anyway. Only issue was that my friend who is hearing impaired and uses closed captioning devices at other theaters had a several ones that didn't work so the first 15 minutes of the movie was sort of lost since I had to run and try and find staff to help assist with the device. They did finally after about 4 devices finally get one that was working. The seats were ok a little dated and ok other then the foot rests made it hard for others to get by if they left. Sound was good. I'll be back soon since they do have late showings of movies. Example the one I went to started at 12am Saturday night.

Emily Jespersen

Great seats! The recliners are totally worth the extra money and the short wall in front of the seats hides everyone down in front of you. I don't think this location serves food anymore (besides popcorn etc) but the seats and screen size are great.

Justin Rawlinson

Really?! 2 movies playing because, and I quote "Restructuring how we serve food in the theatres." Great business strategy for a 23 theatre complex. I'll be going to Regal.

Jordan Meador

There is nothing that sets this apart from any other theatre in town other than the fact that you have to suffer through the mall too.

Linda Beecham

The theatres are clean...your feet don't stick to the floor. Snack bar area is quite large and was well attended.

Jason Edwins

Was nice on a Wednesday, had whole theater to ourselves.

Mandy Whitlock

My first time at this theater. The balcony seats were awesome. But they need some serious repair.

David Julio

Awesome theater, with 21+ balcony seating

Patrick Chiotti

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Was curious as to how the takeover from Cinetopia would be and man was I in for a treat. When we showed up to see Toy Story 4, we showed up probably 10 minutes after the scheduled showtime, and when we walked in the theater it was pitch black with nothing on the screen. Everyone in the theater said that this had been going on for nearly half an hour with no resolve from the staff. When we asked the girl at the front desk, Taylor, if there was something they could do, she responded with, “all I have to do is press play”. When we asked for our money back, we got: “well I can give you the money back if you leave the theater.” Long story short, the new owners suck. Bring back Cinetopia.

brandon ackerman

Best theater to see a movie in. PERIOD. Sound and picture quality are top notch and the food is delicious and everyone is so friendly!

Luis Penaloza-Diaz

Sents for lower area are very uncomfortable. Ordered tickets through Fandango and it worked great.

Joan McClellan

Very nice. Comfortable seats

Matt Meier

Popcorn was bad. Much better quality popcorn when it was Cinetopia. Nobody seemed to be checking tickets or seem to really care about anything. Unless major upgrades happen I won't be going back anytime soon.

Tim Boyd

Cinetopia has lost all its magic. We've been going to these theaters since they opened and have always been amazed at the level of service and the quality of the theater experience. This has all gone bad.We won't be back to the Mall theater again.

Amelia Beckel

Honestly pretty disappointed at what AMC did to this previous Cinetopia location post acquisition. Not only did they stop serving a full menu (one of the highlights of Cinetopia) but it's overall not an experience anymore. It's now just another theater with mediocre service and popcorn bags so thin that the butter leaks onto your lap. Before Cinetopia was bought out I had stopped going to any other theaters because it was such a great model. Made it exciting to see movies again. Our family was really hoping AMC would keep it going - too bad.

Dustin Hicks

I watched how to train your dragon 3 in 3D in the living room theater. The movie was awesome. The experience was awesome. would recommend a 3D movie in the living room theater to anybody trying to have a great movie experience. The only drawback was the price of the popcorn was almost the price of the ticket. Popcorn goes the movies it's a must-have, but be prepared to break your wallet for it though.

Heidi M.

A poor substitution for Cinetopia. Took my daughter to see a movie and the picture didn’t show up on the screen for 5 minutes- only audio. They also left the lights on. Not good.

Nick Tracy

The seats were perfect for long movie times. Butt doesn't get sore from sitting too long. That's a plus.

Sheri Muntean

Extremely comfortable theatre! Love the seats. Popcorn is ok, but not the best. You can't put on your own butter, but seating makes up for it! Plenty of movie times, too.

John S

The new AMC theater at the mall... Yeah...not so much...tickets to much (even with military discount)...no more theater service... Friday night service at the snack counter dark and uninviting (2 people working)...the movie parlor #11 middle seats broken...no previews or specials offers playing on the supplemental screens...come on AMC this being my first interaction with your company....fail...

sara murphy

Small concessions, no real food or food service in the Parlor as we expected. Few employees. We watched the previews and when the real movie was to start we waited in a dark theater for 5 minutes, finally some man from the audience went out and told someone the movie was not running. 3 minutes later it finally started. The movie itself was GREAT! Miss our Cinatopia.

Kai Brown

This place has been ruined. Everything about it that used to make it the best theater has been gutted in this hostile takeover. It's dirty, something Cinetopia never was. They barely even have movie concessions, and according to employees, no plans to reopen the restaurant or in-theater food service that made Cinetopia so great. Which is interesting, since according to their site many of their other theaters offer food services you can pre-order like tickets. Utterly disappointing. We will not be coming to this place again. Cinetopia, you will be missed.

Maleana B

AMC ruined this theater. Cinetopia was an experience It was a classy, adult getaway where you paid for clean, well maintained seats, above average service, food and alcohol brought to your seats for your enjoyment. Now the place is ran by uninterested teenagers, there are stains all up and down the "red" carpet, seats are torn and broken, paint is chipped, the snack selection is abysmal and there is no alcohol. AMC laid off the entire staff that my husband and I came to know very well from seeing new movies every week. We now go to Regal Cinemas.

Mommager

This theater is not how it used to be. There's always food behind the seats and the seats feel sticky. Snacks are just like any other theater. Kids tickets are great! It used to be my favorite place to go and watch movies with my friends but not anymore.

Colton Wells

There's a 21+ section that costs extra. But there's no bar. So I guess I paid extra to not be seated by anyone 17-21. The movie started 15 minutes late. No explanation, just a blank screen and silence. It was much better when it was cinetopia.

Tanner Fuerstenberg

Theater is alright, but new ownership is weird. Having to butter our own popcorn makes it very clunky to get an even spread of butter throughout the bucket without making a giant mess. It's funny seeing people tap the front desk computer screen thinking it's a touch screen though, that never gets old.

ehaddan

Nice comfortable place, but no alcohol yet.

Lewis Gerhardt

The only way they could have screwed this theater up more is if they stopped playing movies. The place is dirty and service at the snackbar was rude. They don't even butter the popcorn anymore.. NOPE, for $15 you get to butter it yourself!! Further, they no longer serve alcohol, so why are some areas still 21+?

Daverine Kama

I'm definitely loving this reserve seating thing. The spacious seating and the footrest in the Living Room Sky box is sooo nice. The customer service is always on point. Slightly pricey but I think it's worth it.

Jennifer Middleton

We watched Pet Sematary in the movie parlor. I'm paraplegic and transferred from my wheelchair into one of the chairs and I was incredibly comfortable through the whole movie. We had dinner while we watched the movie as well and the food was great. I had the burger and fries and my husband had the mac and cheese and both came hot and delicious. The only issue I had was there was a spot on the movie screen that looked like someone had thrown something at it and my eyes kept being drawn to it throughout the movie. A little maintenance to the screen would have been good especially when you pay $17 a ticket.

Kristin Sherwood

So, this is my boyfriend and mines favorite place to watch a movie. We don’t go anywhere else. We love getting drinks from the bar and ordering some nachos. It’s just enough “extra” to make it worth the extra few bucks for the tickets, and honestly, it’s not that much more! Plus, the seats are so nice to recline in and you get to kick your feet up on the ottoman too! Just a great, relaxing movie going experience!

Rick Holsti

The concession employee was a pig. Overflowing drinks made us clean off the cups, and he was rude when we pointed out the gave us the wrong drink. The theater was a mess even though it was the first showing of the day. Felt like a cheap Portland theater some of those are cleaner. For what they charge they should be a lot better than that.

Tyler Crebar

CROOKS. On two separate occasions forgot my order completely during a movie in the parlor. First time I got a refund of just my food order after waiting a half hour and speaking to three different people. The second time they basically told me I was lying (the server spilled my drinks everywhere, and instead of admitting they did that voided my drinks at the bar). I told the manager this after the movie was over and I just wanted a simple refund of my order and she wouldn't do it, only partial (this includes a mandatory tip they auto charge for terrible service). Said the server was gone now and she couldn't prove that I was telling the truth. What!? Save yourself the headache and DO NOT COME HERE.

James Pilcher

You can get concessions upstairs now! Big plus compared to cinetopia only allowing downstairs purchasing.

Kelsey Delashaw

Like how you can put your own butter on the popcorn

LA Oftedahl

Visited while still Cinetopia. My heart aches that the folks who sought to make the movie-going experience great again sod out to a company that seeks to make movie theatres into cattleyards

Steve Mcleod

Always go here for longer movies. Very comfy. Bathrooms need remodeling though.

Gregory Davis

I like it here a lot. Preselected seating, generally clean, the staff is friendly. It's a movie theater as far as food goes, but you can buy a few other options as well in the 21+ areas or the couch seating. It's one negative is that its attached to a busy mall. Or it is to me. Regardless of that it's the best in theater in the area.

Nancy Howk

Went for Godzilla King of Monsters for opening weekend. OMG the worst theater seats we've ever sat in. Even the Dollar theater has better seats! It was so distracting, kids falling out of their seats, trying not to fall out ourselves! Concessions are a joke and the popcorn is yuck! It's too bad because we were excited about going.. our son has been waiting since the last one for this to come out.

Natasha Oni

Came here because they have a 21+ older sections. Get here pay for the one to find out they aren't serving alcohol. They only point we wanted the 21+. Popcorn taste like it was popped in a bag and Will stick with Regal from now on.

Jamee Franklin

Getting worse. Never prepared, the process is drawn out, scanners don't work, you have to sign for cc use with an amount of $6. Nothing is streamlined. It's turned into a headache.

kathrine emerson

I didn’t mind paying for Cinatopia prices when it was cinatopia. Now that AMC has taken over, they have a skeleton crew working. No restaurant, food service or alcohol but you’re still paying as if there were. Theater isn’t as clean. They need to bring prices way down if the extra services aren’t there. Won’t be coming back. Don’t care for Regal but Regal It is.

Lonnie Keplar

After years of enjoyable trips to this theater all has changed. First, they have discontinued food before 4:30 PM. Maybe not so bad - but we only found out once we arrived - there was no mention of it on the website. Service was horrible. The person who checked us in upstairs was surly, uncaring and told us he could not issue the tickets ordered on Fandango - we would need to go downstairs. After a short but sharp exchange with my son, the ability to check us in was suddenly found. I felt bad for the concession workers. They were understaffed and behind and, of course, they are the face of the franchise so they get the flak. One of the few things you can order and carry into the theater is a roast beef sandwich. I ordered one and 25 minutes later I gave up and went to watch the movie. The gentleman next to me had been waiting an hour - for a deli roast beef sandwich. Again, there seemed to be only 1 person in the kitchen area. After the movie my son had a discussion with the manager. She refunded the cost of the sandwich but not once did she apologize for the problems. In fact she was absolutely uncaring. Unfortunate after years of attendance, but we will not be back - there is no reason to go there.

Derik Ogata

I took my daughter to see detective pikachu and it was amazing. Very helpful staff and the theater was kept very clean.

kevin a

No food or alcohol yet. Liked cinetopia more.

Amy Olsen

Clean mall with a variety of shops and restaurants for the whole family. I love that there is a branch of the library in here and a space for local artists to sell their creations. There's a movie theater, nail salon, and playground for people who want an experience more than stuff.

Brian Stone

Uh oh, they charge a premium for food. We waited for 1hr and our buzzer still never went off. So went went up front in the middle of our movie. They had them under a heat lamp but forgot to buzz us. I asked for a refund and it wasn't well received, it took another 20+ minutes to get refunded. The movie was good, the staff and operations was not.

Craig Perry

I like AMC much better than Cinetopia.

Karl Mccowan

I know the owner somewhat. The upstairs popcorn line is over 30 minutes because of employees lunch and they don't have a replacement. Management needs replacing if you can't cover the upstairs popcorn on one of the biggest days of avenger opening. What a joke. I would recommend replacement, even attitude saying not my problem. Super super poor management here at Vancouver mall. Also, 40 minutes wait for popcorn downstairs. This will be the last time at this location. Horrible mgmt.

Bob Berrigan

Nice in theater experience, but the price is pretty high for a movie. Good thing I liked the movie!

tinkle bear

I wanted to try AMC to see how it is compared to Regal (which I frequent often). Went on a discount Tuesday, and got a really good deal on a large popcorn and soda. Guess what? My tongue is now dead. Thanks, AMC! Apparently they pre-salt the popcorn with a mountain of salt, and I finished the tub because why else do you go to a theater? The popcorn had no flavor (even with extra butter) and the soda was flat (like my sister's chest). Also, the seat I was in on the far end was literally in the aisle. It was a terrible experience overall, although the staff was pleasant. I'd recommend sticking to Regal (apparently they're starting a subscription service soon).

Ginger Frost

My favorite place to see a movie. I had the Dill cooked Salmon on a bed of veggies. My friend had the berry drink that was yummy. New staff is happy and up beat. Clean in most areas.

Peter Morrison

Movie was good and it was comfortable but the lack of advertise restaurant food and drink took away from the evening.

Amber Moreau

My favorite place to see movies in Vancouver. Great service and lots of options for movies and viewing times.

Mike Newton

For the price we are paying for movie tickets and concessions, I expect a clean environment and prompt service. I have never seen it so dirty and understaffed. Bathrooms were disgusting with water that had been overflowing and urine all over the floor, no paper towels. The entire establishment had garbage all over. 1 employee selling tickets with a line going out the door, 2 employees working concessions with a huge line. Took 20 minutes to get to our movie. Get the employees some help or we won't be coming back. Managers, it's not below you to hop in and help when the line is backed up Instead of walking in circles.

Cheyenne Giersdorf

Went here after they turned to AMC and it just isn’t the same. The workers are not friendly. Food is limited now at the concession stand. Will not come back.

Alex BLUNT

Great place for a first date. Armrests go up, reclined seats, it makes it easy to cuddle up a little bit. Snacks are good, and the theater was phenomenal. Great sound and atmosphere. Huge screen. Also very friendly staff. There wasnt anyone at the ticket check stand, so I kinda just waltzed past it, I had bought myself and my girl tickets, and a guy flagged us down, asked if we had already grabbed tickets, asked to see them, but did so in a way that didn't feel confrontational or rude at all. Extremely respectful and well trained staff members. I give it all the stars I'm allowed to give it, and would definitely come back again.

We watched the new Marvel movie in the parlor and it was terrific! The wait staff is very competent and the food is great.

We moved to the area three years ago and this place has taken a nosedive in that time. We used to love the 21+ movie parlors. It was always pricey, but the seats were extra comfy and the patrons were nearly always very respectful. This last redo of the seats was low budget. I had a hard time getting comfortable on the thin foam seats and could feel the supporting beams under me to the point the last 30 minutes of the movie had me constantly shifting to relieve pressure points. The patrons like to give loud, running commentary, through entire films, and none of the staff seem to either notice or care. Add in they are often out of menu items and it's really not the premium experience we used to enjoy paying for, at this point.

Alex AO

I used to love this place. But now they got rid of their kitchen and bar. The only benefit to buying the more expensive seats is to not have anyone kick your chair

Lorianne Cyanide

I actually really loved going here. They got bought out by regal though and now the concession situation isn't great. Great theaters and viewing rooms though I love it

Kenneth Herrmann

Always the best movie theatre experience at this theatre. Comfortable seats, good popcorn and service

Tami H

Arrived 30 minutes early to a 7:15 movie to order dinner before the movie, only to find out the restaurant and bar are closed during the transition. Didn't see that info on the website. Would've been nice to know when purchasing tickets for 21 and over at regular price, expecting to order food and a beverage in the theatre.

Nancy

We like going to Cinetopia as a treat - in the past we were able to order food other than concession snacks. Evidently, the choices have been changed and we were told that if we wanted concessions we would have to go to the restaurant and order at the bar. The menu was limited and what they did have available wasn't anything special. If this is the way it's going to stay we probably will just go back to Regal. The concessions are better and you know what to expect when you go there.

Dave

No food and a 20min line to get a soda with 1 person working upstairs. The seats were dirty and sticky too. Won’t bother coming back

Amber Luomanen

Ever since AMC took over Cinetopia it has gone completely down hill. First you get rid of the restaurant and now alcohol in the 21+ section! What does that leave you with? Comfy seats? That's not saying much! There is no point in going there anymore. Bad in your part AMC.

Jennifer Lewis

Prices way to high for a Sunday afternoon in the 21+ seating. No restaraunt, no food or alcohol served while seated....definitely NOT CINETOPIA! (Yet charged as if it were). Popcorn was burnt @ $9/small. I won't be making the drive in from North county again when Battle Ground provides better prices and popcorn options. It was very disappointing all around.

Kelly Caplenas

Messy - poor service. 2 different times the movie started with out anything on the screen - just audio. Horrible customer service. Teach your staff common courtesies, a slight sense of professionalism. I get it - it is the movies, they don't need to dripping in respectability, but the basics wouldn't hurt.

Terrance Dunnavant, MA

This used to be our theater of choice while it was Cinetopia. The service and food was outstanding and the movie parlors were the best move-going experience around. However, since AMC took over, everything has gone downhill. There is no service, there is no food anymore (only “concession snacks”), the theaters are dirty, and the past couple of times, there have been technical difficulties with the movies that we never had while it was Cinetopia. Vacnouver has lost one of its best entertainment options because of AMC’s lack of vision and attention.

Jon Fong

Comfortable seats, plenty of room to stretch out your legs. Nice big screen. Wish snack prices were more friendly, but can't have everything. Will come back to watch more movies here.

C B

NOT AS ADVERTISED!!!! seating was very cramped. Paid extra to sit in the “sky box area” We were asked to show our ids because they sell “alcohol” but when we asked for what kind of drinks they had, the worker said sorry we don’t have a bar anymore. Just please remove the false advertisement and don’t ask people to show ids when there really is no reason for it.

ernestine

In the large theaters I've only sat in the Sky Lounge, in the smaller movie parlors I've tried out every row and type of seat. I've found them all to be comfortable. The food is decent. Rather pricey for portion size. I've learned to not order the drinks with the fun names, they don't taste nearly as good as they sound. ..

Sina Leaupepe

Its hard to rate this place fairly when it use to be Cinetopia which I liked the selection at the concessions(when it was Cinetopia). However, now that AMC had taken over the snack selection has dramatically been limited to the basics of popcorn( just the good old fashion kind) soda pop, nachos, candy etc. My popcorn was super salty but I know they didn't put added salt so maybe they use a mix that's saltier? I only ate a small portion of it. But its smart that they put the butter dispenser out near hot dog condiments for you to put however much u want. Prices are overall reasonable for snacks compared to Cinetopia previously.Seats were comfy just need more places to put all your snacks lol I have been to the AMC in Seattle with the 3D theater and it was pretty awesome those were by far the most comfy & spacious theater chairs I'd ever sat in. I hope they do make at least one of their theater's here a 3D one that would be great otherwise it's been a good experience there.

Tannon Held

No other way to watch a movie. I recommend the parlor room for the cozy home feeling. Beer is over priced but where else can you have that option? Don't get the food, you'd have a better meal at applebees or sizzler. Popcorn and nachos are a safe bet.

Aphrodite Anodyne

We had Cinetopia tickets from Costco left over so we decided to give the AMC another shot today. We should have paid full price and went to Regal up in Cascade Park instead. We chose one of the old 21+ movie parlors, and it had a funky smell to it. We went to the first showing of the day and there was still popcorn from the night before on our seats. The restrooms were a disaster. Cleaning is not one of AMC's priorities that is for sure. AMC took everything that was special about Cinetopia and did away with it all. You now get discount theater service at premium theater pricing.

Trevan Meador

They bought out the local theater and ripped out everything that made it worth going to. No beer, no restaurant, just same old, overpriced theater garbage.

Miss Mimi

Besides the Joker not meeting my expectations. We paid for the 21 and over seating only to get upstairs and be told that they don't have a liquor license and that they didn't have most of the stuff on the menu. I attempted to order what they did have and the guy gave me something totally different then said he charged me for a larger drink and popcorn on accident that's why he just gave me what I paid for versus fixing the order and giving me what I asked for. The seating was better when it was Cinetopia and why they made us select seats when we were late and there was literally 12 people in the theater was beyond me.

Rachael Jesser

Sadly this theatre has really gone downhill since AMC took over. It’s dirty and run down. Such a shame... it used to be really nice.

Robert B

The theater we were in has comfy chairs that recline and foot stools,Makes it a great place to see a movie.

Michelle G

Purchased 2 adult and 2 children’s tickets online for a movie. When we got there, we were told that we couldn’t go to the movie because it was in a theatre that was 21 and over. Why sell chilren’s priced tickets online if you won’t allow children in that theatre. And when they refunded the ticket prices, they didn’t refund the online service fee for buying the tickets. This, with the experience we had 4 months ago when I missed 30 minutes of a movie to keep repeatedly checking on the food I ordered and finally received an hour later (serisoulsy, how long does it take to put spinach dip in a bowl and chips on the plate?), means we will never come back to see a movie here.

loooony92

The fall from grace is palpable. Two stars on account of the fact that we got a refund before the movie had started. The place is sticky, filthy and run down. The fact that they push the upstairs seating as something "premium" and 21+ is laughable and embarrassing considering they still don't have their liquor license two months after the acquisition. Take your money elsewhere.

Francesca Mastrangelo

Very pricey but great seating.

Deepak Rajagopal

Nice place to catch a movie as well as a bite to eat. Comfortable seats. Theater kept quite clean. Sadly the in theater menu sometimes has items which are not available so you might be better off having a second or third choice picked out.

Fox Peterson

it's the best hours for films and never overfills plus it's right off the highway, but there is no real food and the seats aren't comfy like cinemax. i do mostly go to this theatre because i know within an hour of my film is another run so if i'm later than i want to be i just see the next one

Cassandra Muhly

Edit: Since AMC has taken over this theater is completely different. No more dinner food. No more Costco tickets. At least for now, haven't heard if they are going or change on that. Overpriced for not without the extras. Disappointed because it use to be my favorite theater. Would not suggest to others. I love this theater! It's really nice in the larger theaters and the living room theaters. The smaller normal ones are actually a bit worn. The sound there is great. Its complete surround and you wont really truly understand what I mean until you experience it. There is a restaurant and a bar here. You can order and eat food in the theaters. There are even 21plus shows where you can also have a drink with your dinner. The living room theaters are cozy and small. Great for dates and family nights. Some even have couches. I would say that the pricing is pretty fair. I haven't been to a regular theater in awhile cause you can get tickets for this theater at Costco for a great deal! The adult prices I believe are pretty much the same, some theaters (gxl, living room, 21plus) cost more. I believe the child prices are actually cheaper at this theater than others. The staff is nice and patient. We love going here. Would suggest to anyone. :)

Nate Sorensen

It was a nice visit. Great sound, great movie, comfortable seats. 5 dollar Tuesdays is an amazing hit with me as well.

Kamron Brant

The viewing area in the 21+ section is great. Good choices for drinks and food. The only disappointment was the pizza. it was burnt and not very tasty. otherwise it was a good experience

Ian James

10 dollars for a popcorn??? Kinda ridiculous. Plus the whole point of 21 and over is for the ability to order food and alcohol, which neither were being sold. AMC has basically ruined Cinetopia. Once our gift cards are gone, probably wont be returning. All the reason to go to Cinetopia are no longer...

Neal Patel

Terrible move getting rid of the restuarant service. That is a money maker right there but I guess AMC doesnt see that. I usually see 3 to 4 movies a month but I will stick with Regal now. who wants to pay premium ticket prices for a less than premium experience? not me

Charlene ZACHA

AMC is selling 21+ tickets without telling you they didn't bother getting their liquor license in time to take over from Cinetopia. Oh and the restaurant's closed too. No they don't know when it'll be open and selling drinks. But when they do, there will be no more seat-side service, you'll have to buy food & drinks in the restaurant and carry it in yourself. Which means getting there at least a half hour earlier. Total fail, AMC.

Danny English

My issue is the seats seem narrower and there fore crosser together than I like. There a lot of screens that is a Plus. The seats are selected from a screen at ticket purchase. I prefer a ticket that allows me to select from the available seats the one with the best view to me. Most theaters in Vancouver have this type of selection. Some of these screens have seats that look down from above the top of the screen. I prefer the screen to be like a painting on a wall. You look a little down to see the street, straight a head to see the other side and a little up to see the sky. This does not mean I would not watch a film if this was not available. The picture at the ticket counter does not make it clear what few a location provides. By the time you walk back the seat was available is taken by someone that might prefer the seat you have to what he now is seated in. Give it a try, my brother likes it, so may you.

Janelle Hayden

Totally different experience since the switch to AMC! They put us in a theater with no air conditioning!! 20 min in everyone was sweating! I got the manager and he said oh ya it's broken in that one! I said why would you put families in there then??? He said idk if it's too hot I can give you your money back if you want to leave now.... I was absolutely appalled! I'll never go back!

Wiggly Toes

Great place! Comfy seats!

Nicole Huddleston

Literally the most terrifying thing happened to me here tonight. I went to see Tangled, as part of the Dream Big Princess collection of 4 Disney movies being played this month. When I went in to take my seat with sisters it was pitch black and a movie was going- not previews. Of all things in the movie world that could be on the screen, "IT" was playing. I'm not kidding. We thought we were in the wrong theater and my sister tripped over a piece of their flooring that had come undone from the stairs. So our fun light hearted night out turned into us being scared to death falling all over eachother tripping on the flooring to get out of a theatre playing a horror film instead of the kids movie we came to see. I to this day have an insane fear of clowns stemming from the original IT movie so I cant imagine a scarier film to be stuck in. I also cant imagine if I had brought my kids with me tonight instead of my sisters. Unbelievable. I was given passes to come back again, but I cant even wrap my mind around how the series of events happened this evening or if I even want to go back. The manager played it off as not a big deal, just a mistake someone made and that the flooring would be fixed. She did not seem to take even a second to appreciate the fact that a horror movie was playing instead of a family movie. She did however ask if we needed to fill out an incident report for the flooring issue. Besides all of the mishaps, any questions we had at the ticket desk regarding movies were met with "um, I dont know. But you can look online" and "that information is probably on our website." I am so bummed to see cinetopia go, and really hope they can get their act together. I want to love this place! I used to!!!!

Frank Wilson

Still the best theater in the Portland area. Highly recommend the GXL theaters and seeing the movie in Dolby Atmos. Other highlights: super comfy seats. Can order & consume food and drinks in several of the theaters ... yes, you can even enjoy your beer/wine during the movie in the 21+ theaters.

Robert W Hanson

if you think they carried on the service in the 21 and up section . don't bother , complete disappointment.. no different than the cheaper seats before

Laura Wilke

Very friendly and helpful staff at a late night Saturday movie

Michael Brooks

My family bought three tickets to see Spiderman at this theater. We showed up, have a told us that we had to wait another line because there was no children allowed in that movie Theater. We had purchased one adult and two children tickets. But I guess they’re trying to get a liquor license so kids aren’t allowed. The staff was incredibly inconsiderate. Arrogant, rude and dismissive is the only way I could describe them. This theater showed a complete lack of respect for what it takes to get a family to get together and go to the movie. Organizing that kind of time on a Sunday it’s not always easy. But they couldn’t care less. I don’t care what movie comes out, I’ll never go to that theater again

Irish Kennedy's

Great place for a movie! Love seats! Reserved seats and 21 and over for restaurant menus and cocktails. Nice to go unlike typical movie theaters.

David Charles

Great place, awesome service. Just make sure if you go to get the higher number seats in skybox.. you'll thank me!

Courtney Stevens

Finally made it to the adult only section. So nice. Definitely will be back

Nathan Johnson

AMC removed a lot of things that made this a really enjoyable theater to come to. Sure you can still get your popcorn, soda, and see a flick, but now you're paying premium prices for less than you were getting when it was a Cinetopia. Better off going to Regal.
