This is a wonderful independent movie theater. They usually play cool independent films but they also have more mainstream fare on occasion, including some older popular movies they have started playing on Saturday afternoons (The Princess Bride and Back to the Future are two recent examples.) They also have great seats not normally found in movie theaters and some of the best concessions around! (Gourmet chocolates, wines, flavors for the popcorn and delicious butter bars!)

One of the few independent theatres left in the area and one of the few to showcase truly independent films. Beyond that appeal, the theatre is very community oriented. For example, following Michael Jackson's death in 2009, the theatre ran a retrospective of his videos/short films and anyone could come for free. When the initial (and originally only showing) ended up being too popular, the theatre ran another showing immediately after for those who couldn't be seated. The homemade chocolate covered raisins are a treat!

Beautifully restored and updated little theater showing many features that you won't find in wide release. Gourmet treats, wine, and beer for sale -- there are even some little tables in the back row. :) The Little Art often has free or discounted children's matinees on Saturdays. They also feature local filmmakers, live music, free documentaries, old silent movies with a live band, Rocky Horror, and lots of other fun events on occasion. A local treasure.

This place is so cute. It is an older theater but very well kept and clean. They sell beer and cocktails at the concession stand as well as chocolate and popcorn too! Great place to go on a date or see a movie with friends. I highly recommend this place. It's a beautiful theater.

Wonderful experience! They have updated the lobby and restrooms and added a lovely selection of unusual snacks and beverages to the lobby. All this, and they maintained the original artwork in the theater and retro, eclectic ambience of this charming art theater. Staff are warm and sincere. I have seen many films here and have never sat through one I disliked.

This place is delightful. I lived in Yellow Springs in the seventies and frequently visited at that time. I haven't been back since then. The entire place is renovated. The film we saw was bye bye Germany and it was excellent.

Remarkable gem where it's a social experience on top of a great movie. Meet your neighbors (seriously, we were surrounded by neighbors), and have Q&A/trivia after a thought provoking film. Beautiful buttered popcorn, cocktails, brews etc. Since the renovations a few years back the seats are beyond comfortable and classy, the sound is top notch, and while the screen isn't IMAX enormous it's appropriate for the venue and there isn't a bad seat in the house. The film lineup is unique and carefully chosen so you're seeing movies that matter. Drop in on anything and you'll walk out feeling and thinking just a little bit differently. Very good stuff. Thanks for the experience Little Art Theater!

ALWAYS a great time at the Little Art. Great selections, great snacks, and a great taste of Yellow Spring’s community in a well-preserved, historic theater. While the movie selection does not change altogether often and few blockbuster movies are shown, the films which do make it here are often extremely tasteful, worthwhile films. Also, be sure to try the dark chocolate covered blueberries as the perfect movie snack!

The Little Art is quintessential Yellow Springs! The movies are more mainstream than they were in the past, but the content rarely is a “fluff” topic. You will find movies with typically some kind of social commentary or that evokes a high art aesthetic. They offer popcorn, sodas ( no ice unfortunately), beer and wine!

While staying in yellow springs on an overnight visit we watched once upon a time in Hollywood. This little theater is awesome and offer snack food items as well as beer and wine. Great time, great theater, great town.

An absolute gem of Yellow Springs for all movie lovers - they do a variety of showings and the single-theater experience is very enjoyable in a quaint sort of way. Tons of local engagement, I have seen wide releases, local releases, and attended their all-night Halloween marathons in the past. Definitely a must see for anyone passing through.

After we finished the remodel I can say the improvement was pretty extreme. From the front of the house to the actual viewing area,I will say that it improved our viewing experience and is worth the drive from Englewood. I'm glad that we could experience being a customer and a client. It is nice to enjoy the fruits of our labors from time to time.

I've seen some great movies here; everything from Wonder Woman to a documentary called Rumble. The Little Art Theatre has a great atmosphere with all the popcorn, candy and drinks you would expect from a movie theatre. I'm so glad it's open.
