You have to buy tickets at the concession counter. This means if you don't want food you still have to wait in line at a poorly staffed counter behind a long line of families to get your ticket. I had to wait 15 minutes today. 4/16/16

We decided to go to the Carmike 8, after 2 years or so of not going to a theater, ridiculous! $4.30 for a small 20 oz bottle of water. we needed something to drink and didn't want soda so we paid 8.60 for 2 bottles of water, i could have purchased 2 gallons of gas for cheaper! the floors in the theater were filthy and about 20 min into the movie an idiot in the projector room turned on the light so we had a bright light in our room for about 30 min before he decided to turn it off. Huge disappointment and a great rip off in the concession stand princes....Advice - Smuggle in your own drinks and snacks...cause if you pay more for a bottle of water that's only 20 oz vs a gallon of gas there's something wrong with that. I know if i ever go back i will smuggle in drinks and candy.

Not a good experience! Had a gift certificate issued by AMC but could not use it for tickets , food, or drinks. Staff didn't know how it could be used other than online purchases through AMC . Stood there holding up the line and logged into the App and still the staff had no clue as to what to do to use this card. Worthless! This is a $25 worthless card if no one can use it and I was dumb enough to purchase two of them. I will be contacting the corporate office about this matter.

Friendly staff. Been there twice in the last month and both times, the theaters didn't have trash picked up. Litter everywhere. And the seats are so uncomfortable that it's tough to sit through an entire movie. Everything is very outdated.

They shut the movie off before it was over. Had to wear my gloves and use my jacket as a blanket to stay warm. The Grand Theater is less than a mile away. Don't waste your time or money at AMC.

The showtime was 1pm, they played commercials until 1:35, and then started previews. The movie didn't actually start until 1:55. I guess of you have more time and patience than money the $3.99 ticket is a fair trade, unless you are bringing children to a movie because expecting them to peacefully sit through all that is crazier than believing in Unicorns.

Prices are good for the movies but they didn't tell us about the free refills with reward program until after we bought the popcorn and drinks. They said they would not give us the free refills because I signed up right after I bought the popcorn and soda. Drinks and food are ridiculous even for movie theaters prices. Will not be back.

My friend miyah did not enjoy her service that she had received last night if y'all didn't know already it was her birthday yesterday and she turned 14 and they would not let her into the movie IT so she had to go to the minions, which is not her type of movie. It is opened spaced, and a lot of room for children to run around. Some screen rooms are small, but enjoyable. All it needs is more staff in order to keep up with the cleaning.

The only good thing about this place was the price of the tickets. The consessions were ridiculously priced, theatre had sticky smelly liquid all over the floors, the seats and armrests are jank, movie started late and had 1/2 an hour of previews.

Even though the grand seems to catch a lot of the population here in Bismarck, AMC is my favorite because they have great specials air specially for popcorn and I enjoy the staff. It is an underappreciated location and I would hope that my review will bring more people to AMC instead of just attending the grand.

What a cluster eff. I showed up for a 7 o'clock movie at 630 and there was a line out the door. They didn't have separate lines for tickets and concessions and the two stations they had open were moving terribly slow. Even the people that bought tickets online had to wait in the same line. We ended up leaving because my friend that had made it in said there were no seats left and people were sitting on the floor and in the aisles. Why would they sell more tickets than they had seats?!

I have better surround sound in my basement. Also, the seats are so uncomfortable I found myself wishing the movie would be over sooner and it was a good movie. I guess the only reason I would come back is for the refills on popcorn... Even though that wasn't even very good. This theater needs to consider some serious renovations.

I'm visiting the area and read the previous reviews and was pretty apprehensive about going to this theater. But to be honest, I'm an AMC Stubs member so even though the tickets are pretty cheap, I wasn't paying anything for the ticket so if the place was as bad as the reviews said, I'd just leave. After going, I'm not sure what all the reviews are talking about. Sure, it's not the newest theater and there aren't any assigned recliners, but it's a pretty decent theater. The seats were comfy, the staff was nice and helpful, and I'd definitely go again.

The Fandango site allows for discounted tickets on some T-Mobile Tuesdays. Fandango needs to have a barcode for e-tickets to make the process smoother. It never seems to be crowded and is a great place to escape the heat in the summer and to escape the bitter cold in the winter. It is usually well kept despite it needing an update.

I've been to AMC twice now in Bismarck and each time they have ran out of pop. The second time I went we didn't get into the theater until after noon and movie was suppose to start at noon. When we got into the theater they played the wrong movie so had to go searching for an employee to let them know. Really poor business and will probably just go to the Grand theater from now on.

Also, I'm a huge fan of the $4.49 popcorn bucket refill. I've always had a great experience when I come here. This place is a total gem! If you are looking for a place to catch a movie and don't want to spend too much on tickets or like unlimited coke refills this is the theater for you. Seats are somewhat comfy to sit in for a few hours unless you find one with a broken arm rest lol. The big screen experience isnt bad either. Bathrooms need work as does the interior much needed facelift

The bad: The theater is very "old" feeling and not in a good way. The seats were small, I've had more room in an airplane. The picture quality was below par and there was a continuous noise that sounded like the blades of a helicopter thumping. The good: the staff was friendly and it was affordable.

went last night to see the "it" movie on my birthday (turned 14) i had a parent to buy my ticket for me, but they said the adult had to buy a ticket for us to go to it. so my friend and i bought a ticket to despicable me 3 and it was supposed to start at 9:35 pm but started at 10pm when i finally got fed up and got an employee who was a complete and utter jerk, to start the PREVIEWS!!!! when the previews ended the movie didn't play so i had to get ANOTHER employee to start the movie!!! The movie finally started 40mins after the original start time. Not to mention the whorable service, terrible cleanliness, and overall stupid rules that grand theaters doesnt have. Will NOT be visiting again!!!!!!

Best priced movie theater in town. Cheap prices every day of the week. Seats could use upgrading, but fine to sit in for 2-3 hours. Wish the arm rests would lift up. Bathrooms are clean. Always nice watching a movie with few people there and hence more peaceful and quiet than other theaters. Don't have to worry about people talking through out the entire movie here

Smaller older theater located in a small mall. Usually the staff are very friendly here. The Icies/slushes are a nice touch compared to the Grand theater in Bismarck. Also they take Moviepass. Hopefully this continues since some AMC theaters are starting to put an end to this.

Great if you have a refill popcorn bucket and like unlimited amounts of Coke. The screens have gotten worse since AMC took over. Carmike had crisp HD screens but now they are blurry and low quality. Hopefully they get this corrected soon. I much prefer going to this movie theater. I give AMC three buckets of popcorn and unlimited amount of soda.

You get what you pay for. Overall it's not bad for the price you pay compared to The Grand Theater down the street. This is like the 40% OFF place to watch a movie. I love the refill Coke Machine but the bathrooms are grimy. I love the big screen experience, but some of the seat armrests are broken lol. For everything good it's a negative to go with it. But I will definitely keep going when it's a budget day with the WHOLE FAMILY to save some money lol

I like this theater better than the grand due to a few reasons. 1 The staff is much more friendly. 2. There is no silly cash only and oh wait you dont ahve cash we will charge you more to use the ATM to get cash. 3. The Popcorn is better. 4. The prices and quanitys are better than the grand. I have never seen this theater dirty. You are here to see a movie not have decororations plastered all over everything. All in All I would recommend this movie theater.

Please, please, please DON'T smuggle in food or drinks! You only HURT the business! They charge that much for concessions because that is the majority of their income! About 75 to 80 percent they make off of the movies goes back to the studio, and concessions are what keeps them afloat. It's like going to a restaurant, ordering a slice of cake, and then opening a bag of McDonald's food inside the restaurant. If you absolutely need to snack, I suggest eating BEFORE the movie!
