Check out the wall.

Love the concept but..."No web site?" Could not find a list of holiday films they are playing online? Searching for a film to go with the family brings up the multiplexes but not The Cary. Very disappointing.

Great selection of movies. What they play isn't showing anywhere else around. Indies & kids offerings, live concerts & comedy, all in an intimate theater. Great service and they even provide clean blankets if you get chilly! Check out Brew coffee shop which is connected to the theater and sells the theaters snacks & packaged popcorn as well as a small menu with nice options. Local beer selection. Chill, fun vibe!

Please show up to work, employees of "The Cary". My friends went for Bengt Washburn tickets @ 5:30pm Friday August 16th. A half dozen patrons, the opening comedian and a beverage vendor were mystified that the box office was "closed" (?) The facility number rang inside unanswered. Returned at 5:50pm and The Cary was still unattended. More patrons came and went, frustrated. As a Cary resident, I was angry my tax dollars were paying a for such a lackluster attitude so I went to the Herbert Walker building to let the Town of Cary know their theater was abandoned. By the time someone arrived at 6:10pm ("Jocelyn") 15+ people reconsidered and left just like us because if this is how they run things, what other unpleasant surprises await? Let's hope "The Cary" pulls it's act together and hasn't squandered our SIX MILLION DOLLAR INVESTMENT!

V Johnson

Great venue! Enjoyed the film festival!!

Michael Vuke

The Cary Theater is a fun local venue that hosts art house/indie and classic movies (they recently played The Godfather Trilogy), concerts, and performances. Brew coffee shop is connected, and you can bring snacks/beverages from Brew into the theater (no outside food or beverages though) The movie tickets are very reasonably priced ($7 after Ticketmaster fees), and they have a great variety of live acts from local singer songwriters like Jason Harrod and Asheville bluesman Jody Carroll to jazz groups and plays. If your back gets stiff easily, be forewarned that the seating is not the most comfortable. All in all a great Venue. Be sure to go upstairs and look at some of the old memorabilia from the original theater!

Caden Duncan

Awesome!

Hala Ghrear

Is good place

Eric Kalin

Perfect for afternoon matinees. I've seen two movies (Ernst Lubitsch's "The Shop Around the Corner" and "Free Solo", about Alex Honnold's 900 meter free climb up El Capitan). Both ran at 2:00 p.m. on weekday afternoons. The tickets are inexpensive; the staff was warm and helpful; the theater was not crowded; the audience was on the older side. A nice coffee shop adjoins the lobby.

Even though it's small, not "modern" like the big theaters, I love it. Great movies not showing most theaters, indies, documentaries, old, etc. Coffee shop. Saw "The Man who invented Christmas" today. People are very friendly. Support our community!

Just moved near downtown Cary in late 2018 and finally got to see a movie here when Free Solo was playing. It's got a great vibe for a smaller theater and to me is one of the beauties of Main Street. Love the old school Marquee!! My wife and I will definitely be visiting regularly!

Craig Taylor

This theatre always has older off the wall or classic movies. Classic in the context of bot necessarily popular but films that are great in their own right but may never have gained recognition or popularity. Selection is superb. This is a theatre owned by the town of Cary so while there is not plush seating the ticket and concession prices are very fair ($5/ticket). My wife and I usually go at least twice a month.

Reydis Pupo

Sharon Pearce

Eclectic, seats could be more comfortable, but it makes up for it in character.

Vivek Srivastav

Simple old fashioned theater with all the modern technology integrated into it. Seats are a bit uncomfortable if you compare with other movie places, but ok for a smaller length movie or show. It's accompanied by a great coffee and beer bar and overall gives a great ambience

Guy Smith

LOVE this cute little renovation in the heart of downtown Cary!

Esther Getker

Friendly, welcoming little hometown theater. Movies, stand-up comedy, concerts, etc. Compact and cozy venue; very comfortable. Concession offers a variety of goodies - not your standard movie theater fare. Nestled in Cary's newly renovated downtown area with interesting little restaurants and great ice cream nearby. After the movie, buy some ice cream and stroll down Academy Street toward the Cary Arts Center. Hang out by the fountain and people-watch. Very pleasant, safe, and down-home.
