This is a yearly beach trip stop for us. Typically a good experience (and it was this year). They had some water issues in the theater we were in and they had almost half of the seating roped off and only about three rows of the seating where everyone wants to sit. It was still a good time and I wasn't disappointed about anything. I'm just not sure why they didn't close that screen....

Great theater that is well kept and has a nice ambiance. Of course, the snacks are high in price but that is kind of expected. The bathrooms are nice and clean as are the theaters, and they have the most recent movies.

This is a nice theater to see a movie on vacation. It has a kind of local feel, and is not a big attraction aimed at tourists. You can't get tickets through Fandango, but there shouldn't be a problem with selling out of a movie. The beach is a bigger draw in the area. It is a pretty clean place inside with a few fun arcade games in the lobby and plenty of parking available.

Wish I could do no stars. Some of the staff are very disrespectful, everything is expensive, very outdated, etc. Some of the staff were lingering on their phones while a long line of customers were waiting! Management not seen anywhere. Much rather prefer the 1½ drive to VA for movies. Worth the drive for better quality people and food.

Didn't like you bought your ticket at the food counter. Everyone was friendly. Seats were ok. Larger folk will be somewhat uncomfortable. I was. But overall good experience. Dumbo was a good family movie!

Clean theatre so far as theatres go. Picture was sharp. But the temperature inside the theater was HOT. Asked folks around me if they were hot and they said they’ve already complained twice. Finally after about 10-15 into the movie it started cooling down in there. My wife and I were minutes from walking out to get our money back.

So shocked to see the decent reviews on Google. This movie theater continues to go downhill and needs to be remodeled. It is not clean and the bathrooms were not clean. They hire whoever. The person behind the food counter had dirty fingernails serving food! This would not pass a foodhandler code.

Went to see "Solo" on a rainy day. Movie was great. The lobby experience was lacking. They were selling tickets and food at the same register making for a SLOW line and missing coming attractions.

Went to see the 10pm showing of Bright burn. But the staff couldnt get it to work. Worst thing was they didnt not communicate worth a dang about what was going on. People sitting in the room and having 2 times walk to the front to ask what was going on. Drove up from Buxton to see the movie with family waste of a trip. Wont waste MY money here again And wouldn't advise you wasting yours!!!!!!!!!!!°°°°°°°!!!!!!!

Bought a pre-sale ticket online, paid the convenience fee, and the theaters ticket scanner doesn’t work. I had to wait in a long line to collect tickets I already paid for (and a little extra). There were messes everywhere including the main lobby and men’s bathroom.

I had taken my granddaughter to see a matinee, as during evening hours are priced for those with money to waste, it was nice to see a movie not many were at, so not crowded, but after paying $18.00 plus a small popcorn and drink for a additional $ 12 or so then tax, I paid and tried to remember this was time to bond with my family, the issue( and.. thankfully for lack of crowds) was being shorted my change by $16.and change, when I sat down, I counted my change and knew immediately after using a $50 and no change given back, which I was talking to the man who waited on me, so a rarity for me, I did not catch it, but I ran out quickly saw the gentleman who I quickly explained to him the oversight not caught by me, nor him??And the receipt was never given as well.. he assumed I was incorrect, but thankfully I had the manager come out, went to the exact register, told him exactly the amount I knew roughly was not given back as change, and he took the register counted and I was off perhaps 20cents.. with the register being over he knew I wasnt trying to be deceptive, that may had turned into a ugly moment, but thankfully I went out within minutes to speak to them, knew my register and the man waiting on me, did admit he forgot to ring the cash thru?? I wasn't to get anyone in trouble but this is a reason to think twice to return...on top of the high prices, the popcorn premade and cold hard" will keep me visiting the Pioneer Theater in Manteo, where prices are awesome and food cost affordable for families and all. Sorry R/C but you've really let the place go, and prices charged should show differently. I would consider enjoying a movie when not on the Outer Banks if visiting for theres AP much to do, and rent a redbox movie or check out Manteo's theater 8pm nightly. Your pocketbook will thank you"..

I have never been to a movie theater with such a nasty group of employees. My friend (20) and I (21) drove 45 minutes to this theater to see a movie. I had lost my ID earlier in the day (purchasing alcohol because I am 21 years old). When I explained to the manager that I had lost my wallet earlier in that day he was very unaccomodating and flat out rude to me. I even offered to call my parents and have them vouch for me - he told me they’d have to come sit and watch the movie with me. We were not allowed into the R rated movie and had to drive 45 minutes home. I haven’t been carded buying alcohol but wasn’t allowed to see a movie. Seems a little ridiculous to me. It’s one thing to do your job, it’s another to be this rude about it!

It's the only theatre on the OBX, and it's pretty good on the whole. Has all the most recent popular releases, and the thatres are comfortable and pretty clean. Kind of short staffed but the staff that is there works very hard and is very nice. If you want to watch a movie, this is a decent (and only) option.

The theaters are nice and well maintained. However, have to wait in the concession line to purchase tickets is not customer friendly. I come to see the movie not eat snacks. This caused me to wait 17 minutes to just buy tickets.

Nice movie theater. A nice thing to have nearby for bad weather days if you are on vacation. Not very expensive for tickets or concessions compared to the AMC I'm used to. I think it was like fifteen dollars for a ticket and a large drink with refills. I saw Avengers Infinity was and it was great as well!

Too many product commercials. Counted 38 commercials for products, plus the movie previews. Feature started 10 minutes late. Audio very loud. Only 4 people watching movie. Not a pleasant experience. Lobby floor very slippery table not secured. My friend fell. Three employees witnessed this and no one offered help or asked if she was hurt. Very disappointing.

We have been to quite a few movies at the KDH Movie Theater. It is exactly what you would expect from an older theater. Lobby is large and fairly clean with an arcade area. Food and beverage is your standard movie theater fair for standard high theater prices. The theaters themselves are nice and the seats have always been comfortable for me. I have been in newer and nicer movie theaters but for the price I am always happy with my experience here.

I'd like to give it More like a 3.75 star rating. It's NOT the newest theatre. There are movie posters hanging for movies out now, but THEY DON'T show them! Seats don't recline or heat up. But they are clean and in good condition. No self service drink station. Staff DOES speak English. Lots of f/e college students They do have multiple screens, although only 2 at a time are listed on their street signage. Have typical old video games. Lots of restrooms (8-10?) That are kept pretty clean. That's a plus. ALL tickets are $9.00 per person before like 6pm. THAT'S their discount price! You're kinda stuck with them as THEY are the ONLY cinema in the kill devil hills area. Next nearest movie theater is in Corolla,/Duck; others are an hour or so away or longer. And do they ever take advantage of it. They offer early access to movie showings. As I said they're the ONLY game in town and esp during these summer months with ALL the vacationers in town you'd do well to pre-purchase your tickets early so as NOT to get turned away WHEN, not IF, they sell out! Prebuy and just get concessions when you arrive or just walk on in, check your ticket and see the movie! You just wanna see a movie & be entertained, you'll get that, the basics.

Went to see Captain Marvel directed us to wrong theater lucky we caught the mistake and found the correct theater. Today went to see 5 Feet Apart staff directed us to theater 9 after previews guess what wrong move , asked staff what theater directed us to 2 nope wrong movie again , Staff then said try theater 1 right movie but already stated . So basically they stole $16.50 from us for popcorn and drinks and gave us 2 rain check tickets. Terrible place and staff. Would give it 0 stars but 1 star is the lowest.

This is a really nice theater. Very clean and the people we ran into were very nice. While a movie is not what we usually do on vacation during a sudden storm while trying to entertain a 6 year old it was a godsend.

This is not a mom and pop theatre. Often you will find small movie theatres in places with small local populations, even if the place explodes with tourists during some months. This is the type of modern movie theatre you would find in any big city. Many screens, clean seating, ample room, and traditional movie theatre popcorn and drink. If you love movie theatres in high population areas you will feel right at home.

Worst movie theater I have been too. They really need to keep where you buy the tickets and where you get food at seperatly. Also you need to have more people staffed and know what they are doing. Had many staff members running around no having an idea what they were doing, having to ask other staff members questions. Super slow. Just not well cleaned.. Super dumpy. I would never come here again. Just awful service and facility.. Smells awful

The facility is terrible and not comfortable. I go to theaters in Chesapeake / Norfolk Va. area and their seating, décor and the whole atmosphere is super nice!! It is depressing going to this theater. All of the Employees are friendly. I think the Management is excellent and the theater is clean.

The staff was friendly and the arcade games they had were great especially the Jurassic world game, my niece loved it. One of the issues was their ATM was not working til peak hours and they wouldn't take cards at the register until peak hours. The seats were difficult, my sister and I had to continually hold down the chairs for my nieces, they kept wanting to flip back up in their usual resting position. The do not have a child's ticket price, you will be paying full price for your child, $11.25, so prepare yourself.

The seats are a bit too low for people shorter than 6 feet and if the row right in front of you gets occupied, a part of the screen will be blocked by the person sitting in front of you. But for a small town like this, this is probably as good as it gets. Go here if you really must. Otherwise, I would rather recommend a stay at one of the beaches here for 2 hours and you can watch movies later at a better theater near you.

Was surprised by the relatively cheap prices for the shows. But it makes sense after attending a movie. The theater I was in did not have stadium seating and the sound system was Dolby Stereo at best. I don't believe there was surround sound. If there was, the theater didn't set it up properly. Seating, however, was comfortable, concessions were right on target (expensive AF) and the theater was conveniently located. Can't give you any other info as I did not use the restrooms or play games in the arcades. It was very clean though.

10 screens ... 2 movies? Wow. Tiny lobby & prices are a little high but it's the beach. No surprise. The seats could really use new cushions or replacing. Been day on so much the lean to one side or the other. Digital projector & Dolby Audio are excellent. Some of the best audio atmosphere I've experienced in any theater. However, they need to pour some sand between the walls to dampen neighboring room bleed.

Prices were the best for the area. The lighting is cheesy neon pink. There is also a wooden carved Darth Vader. It's so ugly it's beautiful and it's worth going just to see it.

Free refills on drinks and popcorn put my rating into the 5 star category! This is a nice theater centrally located on the Outer Banks with plenty of parking. It's clean, the staff is unfailingly friendly, the seats are comfortable and the sound system is good. We've been going here since it opened and have rarely had a negative experience (doesn't count if the movie blows). Ticket prices are what they are and they jack you over on drinks, snacks and popcorn but that happens everywhere (except the Pioneer in Manteo). As I mentioned in the opening, at least they have the courtesy to give you a free refill on large drinks and popcorn which, when you have a couple of popcorn goblins along for the show, turns into something of a savings.

Not sure what was the worst experience of the night... The uncleasliness of the snack bar or the seats inside the theater. It definitely looks like it has never been reavated . You have to purchase the tickets at the dirty snack bar, can't they hire someone to sell tickets? Management has no clue.! Won't recommend this theater to my enemies. Don't waste your money...!

It is a fairly old building but always fun. Good service and nice seating. Not very busy except in the Summer , especially on rain days. I recommend going 30 minutes ahead of showtime, more in the summer.
