This place rocks for several different reasons, #1 it's usually pretty clean, #2 it's rarely super packed so you don't feel cramped, 3# the prices are cheaper than the other places in town which is always a plus. This is the theater that I always go to because of all these reasons and the popcorn is good too, rarely stale.

The most comfortable reclined, heated seating and friendly helpful staff. However, the theatre, floors, seats, cupholders, etc were filthy. We even asked a sweet employee to wipe our seats down, which she did happily, but it barely made a dent in the stickiness and grime. The bathrooms had obviously not been attended to in some time either. Could still be a great little theatre if more attention were put in to keeping it clean.

Horrible customer service. The girl over the phone had no idea how to answer any of my questions. I asked her if she even knew what I was asking about (regarding admission with Adults with Disabilities) she lied and said "No we have no policy for those people." then I asked if she even knew what the policy is and she finally truthfully answered "Sorry no, I have no idea if we have a policy in place."

Currently sitting in a movie, that i had to ask to start because we were sitting for 15 minutes just staring at a blank screen. When i went to ask it seemed like i was bothering their hangout time in the lobby and after some looks i got from the other employees one girl said she would turn it on. Well it’s now on but i’m loving having to watch the movie with the lights up. Didn’t know giving them business was such as hassle for them to do their job while they are on the clock.

Prices for popcorn and drinks are very high. I love the fact that you DON'T HAVE TO RESERVE A SEAT. I DO NOT go to any other theater because of the RESERVE SEATING.

The theater itself isn’t bad, but they’ve been renovating since I moved here last April. Also, they don’t have any daytime or late night shows during the week... not everyone works 9-5’s and I personally like to go in the mornings before work. The scanners for the a-list app never works, I always have to give my code. All of which are minor issues, but together drastically effects my experience. The only reason I go to this theater is because it is the only AMC in my area.

Dirty, rundown and overpriced. The volume is louder on my smartphone, I asked if they could turn up the volume and it never happened. The theater seating area smells like an old dusty fart. I will take my business elsewhere in the future.

Compared to the past, I certainly see improvement! Spacious rows, really comfortable heated recliners, fancy new drink machines... Room for improvement includes cleaning in theater rooms (in seats and under), keeping popcorn fresh (ours was burnt and stale), and better timing (we stared at a blank screen for 20 minutes until previews started AT showtime.) Concessions are expensive at competing theaters, too, but the tickets are more affordable here. Overall, I will at least return to see if the feedback has been taken into account.

This is, by no means, a great theater; but it is decent for a matinee or Tuesday (“cheap”) Show. It’s the layout of the theaters before stadium seating, but the seats are both comfortable and spacious. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, but this is NOT a place you’d bring someone when trying to impress or dazzle them. The picture quality is alright and the sound is neither impressive nor lacking. All in all, a decent theater, but not up to modern standards.

Every time I’m there the icee machine is always shut down. And they continue to sell icees. The last time I was there the icee machine was broken down and I didn’t learn this till I bought it. When I asked the workers there, they all seemed clueless. In order to get a refund I had to stand in the line that was out the door or wait till it was fixed. One guy came and said the icee machine would be fixed in 10 minutes. I showed up 20 minutes later and it wasn’t. I never did get a refund because by the time the movie was over the workers had gone home. All of the people there always seem clueless. Everything is ridiculously overpriced. They just started assigned seating in the theatre. So I’ve now started buying my tickets online. However you still have to wait in line the same way you would if you weren’t buying tickets online. The only good thing about that place is the reclining seats, which you can get at just about every theatre now.

I'll be generous with the three star's. First I will mention the remodel, the modern heated, electronic, adjustable seats are a very nice addition to a regular theatre. Second I was a little disappointed to see that the signage for all the movies hanging over the doorways had been done away with, which actually caused some confusion at first trying to figure out which room Godzilla was playing in, asked a staff member who was helpful, and turns out it's printed on the movie tickets now. Another thing is the night I was there they were very understaffed in the lobby, even for a Wednesday night, one employee doing it all behind the concession counter. A few folks came in while I was in line for popcorn wondering how to get tickets, I would advise getting your tickets ahead of time, nobody was in the ticket box. Now for the two complaints, the employee behind the counter was handling money with the same food gloves that she was getting popcorn with, also I was overcharged a doller for a small bag of popcorn which should have been 7.50 $ or so, not the price of a big bucket. Finally I'll finish my review by saying, I'll likely come back again, but will not be buying any food or drink at this location any more.

I paid $5.76 online convenience fee so I could pass the line and use the kiosk....well...there is no kiosk. I called the 800 number requesting my $5.76 back (not the ticket purchase itself, just the online convenience fee) due to this fact and was told that it is nonrefundable, those are the rules and asked is there anything else she could help me with. I told her no but that I did appreciate her letting me know that their company was stealing money from anyone buying tickets online and admitting to it by making it nonrefundable.

Not really a great theater, but the staff is pleasant at least. The seat row heights aren't staggered, so if some tall person sits in front of you and you're of average height, like me, then you're pretty much out of luck. Also, theater 8 has some weird black lines on the screen that are very distracting.

The fact that they can get away with charging 10 dollars makes me angry at the people of Asheville. Rise up! You're better than this! You don't have to be treated like garbage by morons!

Wow. I haven't been since they obviously upgraded the place and it's friggin nice. The chairs are super comfortable, heated, reclining lazyboy style chairs. The sound system is extremely crisp and clear. I have moderate hearing loss and theaters are challenging to understand the talking parts but not today. The concessions were standard candy, popcorn and soda which was on point but nothing special. They do have a bar which is a nice touch if you are a drinker. Ticket prices were very fair for such a nice theater. I'll be back again.

We were the only two people in theater 10 to see Five Feet Apart. When we entered, we were immediately hit with freezing air and the screen sound was totally garbled. When we complained, a male employee told us to turn on our seat warmers and he would take care of it! The sound issue was resolved, but we froze throughout the entire movie despite keeping the seat warmers on. He never darkened the door to see for himself how cold it was or if we were ok. It was the worst, most miserable movie experience in my entire life. We were so frozen and miserable by the time the movie was over, I didn’t feel like waiting around to ask for my money back.All we wanted to do was get to our car and warm up! As we left, I did tell two female employees on the way out how terrible our experience was. They were not the least bit concerned and one employee mumbled an almost incoherent and most insincere “Sorry”. The lack of customer concern was as chilling as the frigid air in the theater! What a nasty way to waste my $$ and time while on vacation in Asheville!

Went to see a showing of us and the first two rows were filled with teenagers (could not have been older than 15) without an adult. As the film I was seeing was rated R, I knew immediately that this location did not ID those who bought tickets. Unfortunately their constant talking and laughing at important scenes ruined my experience of this movie. Many people in the theatre kept "shushing" them and someone eventually went out to complain - none of these actions quieted them down. As I am familiar with the rules of an R rated movie (must be 17 in order to purchase ticket or be accompanied by and adult of 21+ years) I was extremely disappointed that a lack of common rule following hindered my experience while watching the movie.

We love Carmike. It is close to us. Tickets cheap between 4 and 5. I have been buying the buckets for years. They keep going up in the refills. At first it was free. Now it is up to $4, plus the drink is over $5 times two and the ticket. The bucket is not worth that, I was told by an employee couple years ago they got a new manager and he changed the free refills. I had to pay $3 for a lid,to my bucket, now it is $.50. We had to stop going as often.

Everything is self serve just about. They give you your cup and you fill your soda - the good part is they have those fancy coke select and flavor machines. They give you your popcorn, but if you want butter you cross the room to a dispenser and put it on yourself. So basically you can only flavor the top portion of popcorn with the butter as there is little to no room to toss and rotate you popcorn for even distribution.

If I could give zero stars I would. We had to buy tickets at the concession counter, but instead of a dedicated ticket line, everyone was mixed together. It took over 15 minutes to buy tickets. What was even more frustrating was that there were several staff members just standing around. I tried to ask the manager if I could just buy tickets since I didn't want concession, but mid sentence he saw his girlfriend walk in and just walked away with her. We finally got into the theater, only to discover that there were lines in the screen. This was very distracting throughout the film. The seats were in poor condition and several squeaked loudly when ever patrons moved. The theater was also very dirty and looked like it was barely ever cleaned. One of the people I was with went back to the concession line to get popcorn and a drink, but was disappointed because the popcorn was stale. To top ogf the poor service and disrepair, this was much more expensive than the normal theaters I go to in town that offer reserved seating, leather recliners, and a full menu. I will never be back, and strongly suggest others save their money.

The movie screen has terrible markings on it and the screen flickered the entire movie. If you want a terrible viewing experience, I suggest you come to this theater. If you want at least a decent viewing experience, I suggest you go literally anywhere else.

The movie experience itself is pretty great, with reclining seats and foot rests. The movies are mostly reserved seating, and the newer theater rooms have two-seat next to each other sorta combination. While we got a little unlucky with our timing, and found two seats that were part of two separate two-seat combos, they're still close enough to each other (so don't worry if you find yourself in a position like that). The popcorn is pretty expensive compared to other theaters in bigger cities.

Worse movie experience of my life. The seat cushions are worn out, not to mention the seat style dates back to the 80s. I could understand if this was a cheap movie place, but they charge full price. My back and butt started hurting after 30 mins and I could not wait for the movie to end. Will never go back to this theater. Spend some blank blank Money and update the seating cheap asses.

We arrived 10 min before show time, no one was in ticket booth. We had to wait in line inside at the popcorn counter, behind 15 ppl trying to decide what to order (popcorn, large, small, butter, chicken tenders, fancy popcorn, pretzel, cheese, chips, small coke, large sprite, fountain drink, spring water, blah blah blah). When we finally got to the counter, 8 min after preview start time we were told the only seats available were on the front row. We left. The one guy working was quite nice - but WHY NOT HAVE STAFF AT TICKET WINDOW? We came home and watched Netflix.

Usually we go to this theater and we have a good time. However on this windy December day at 10:30 a.m. My husband and I, along with two different groups of people were told to stand outside in the cold because it was "too early" when the day before my husband and his mother came at this exact same time to see a movie the day before. A mother and her three children walked in to the unlocked facility and were told to turn around and wait outside. They then asked when they open and proceeded to tell them that "they didn't know" I understand if we were a few minutes early but to keep people standing outside in the freezing cold wind in DECEMBER is pretty rude. None of us would have cared if we would have had to wait inside until they were open to get our tickets. Unfortunately we had already bought ours online and have no choice but to buy our tickets here. The indecency of these employees is ridiculous. UPDATE: To make our experience even better the movie messed up and we sat here in the dark for 10 minutes without any explanation. It took someone to go out and find someone to get them to notice that their movie was messed up. Then for them to come in and say "Yeah it's not working, sorry" and leave. Seriously this place is a joke and the worst customer service I've ever experienced.

We love this theater -- not sure about the food because we usually don't eat to save money. They have a great selection of movies and the prices for tickets are significantly lower + specials on certain days. It's a great place for family who wants to see great kids movies at a low price and regular shows not 3D. Feels like a movie theater from another time -- simpler and less fuss and less deafeningly loud which is great. We go to Frank's Pizza down on Tunnel afterward and play pac man and the whole feeling of a good time for the family for less is complete. : ) l If you are looking for a high def bells and whistles experience this is not it -- but for an old home town fun place it's great.

Floor was wet with trash and soda, bought tickets online and still had to wait 30 minutes in line to get the ticket at the concession stand.

It’s been a few years since we visited as the place was really run down. Now it’s undergoing a major renovation. NO ASSIGNED SEATS!!!! Yea!!!! Recliner seats in a gentle radial pattern really works. Probably due to being in transition, the selection of eats is very poor. Also, at least in theater 5, the picture is dim and flickering. The staff is first rate. Great parking. My hopes are high for this cineplex.

Not the dirtiest theater I've ever been to, but definitely in the top 5. The reclining seats are nice, but humans are gross and will spill EVERYWHERE, and unfortunately the employees can't clean under every single seat in between show times. Movie snack prices are ridiculous to begin with, but I watched the woman behind the counter drop two pieces of an order on the ground on the way into the little oven and just kick them under the counter and use it as a complete order anyway. To be fair to the employees, they seemed a little short staffed- lines wrapping around in the lobby with only a few people to handle it.

Thanks for the $5 movie on Tuesday, and the $5 popcorn and drink. Makes going to the movies affordable again.

Very nice. Heated, reclining seats. It was a bit warm in the theater though.

The lobby and building is a bit dated but they've recently renovated the theaters and added the big electric lounge chairs to every seat. The reason I gave it three stars is because the lounge chairs are curved and round my body in such a way as to compress my diaphragm which becomes uncomfortable after about 15 minutes. If those chairs had lumbar support, they would be perfect.

Completely awful customer service. My fiance and me tried to see Deadpool there and we asked for 2 student tickets. Instead of being told that this one doesn't have student tickets the employee asked to see our student ID's then said "okay 2 student tickets it will be $26" so we pay, then realize it says two adult tickets. So we go inside and ask the manager and she says they don't even have student discount that AMC never has had one. When I know for that to be untrue because Hickory AMC had and still has a student discount. Needless to say we got back our money and went to Regal.
