The only downside with this theatre is: the seats are SO damn comfortable, you can't help but fall asleep!

Expensive if you're not a student, students get half off (bring your ID). You can order food and have it delivered to you in your seat. Did I mention that the seats are basically recliners, nearly fell asleep once. By far the best movie-going experience I've had.

Shockingly uncomfortable reclining seats that left our necks in pain — must be designed for people taller or much shorter than my friend and I (5’7” and 5’5”). Big screens and good projection but those chairs are awful. Something is off on their reserved seat system - center of theater seats were empty.

Nice premium theater with great picture and sound quality. Seats are wide and recline, but the upper portion of the recliners don't lean back so they tend to get very uncomfortable unless you're sitting further back. Don't forgot to get your mint on the way out!

Man this place is fancy, loving the reclining chairs major! So happy I'd got to see the Joker movie here the other night. Couldn't think of a better place though. Gotta come to this place, so worth the extra coin if you know what I mean.

Today was my first time at this theater. The staff is very kind and friendly. The theater itself is alright, big and spacious. The design of the seating area leaves a little to be desired, though - and the seats themselves are surprisingly uncomfortable, despite having the electric recline feature most modern cinemas have. The headrest seems to be positioned so that no matter how much or little you choose to recline, your neck is forced to bend forward. Also the escalator was a bit frightening while ascending, stalling randomly towards the top.

Theater double-booked our seats during the 7:15 showing of Captain Marvel, theater 8, on 3/14. We bought our tickets on Atom, and the theater sold an additional pair of tickets to the same seats. Luckily the other two people were able to find a pair of unoccupied seats nearby.

Looks like a new theater. Its clean, and good. I am taking off 2 stars as the screens are too small for the number of seating. The seats are not comfortable, they don't recline, and has a awkward seating position, your neck and back aces for longer movies.

I grew up watching this movie theater change so many times and it finally reached a point now where it has a true luxurious feel while still feeling like a boutique theater. I love that they have reclining chairs, and even their little lounge in the entrance is super nice for waiting on late friends hahah or for hanging out for a little after the movie to plan what other things to do ~

This is my go to neighborhood movie theater. It's gone from being a run-of-the-mill theater, which was comfortable to a state-of-the-art movie house with luxurious reclining seats and "table service" - each chair has its own little table. I go there monthly to see what's new.

They have amazingly comfortable reclining seats, complete with tray tables. The aisles are very wide to support the reclining, so it is also very easy to sneak out to the bathroom or concessions without disturbing your row. All in all it was a very nice experience.

Place was always my favorite theater in NYC. it’s a combo of old school and new school with good service. There is a sense of urgency to get you in and out which I’ve never seen before, in a good way. They now have renovated theaters with reclining leather chairs and smaller head counts making the movie an even better experience. Worth coming here even if you are not in the neighborhood.

Came here because of the e-ticketing available through moviepass. Kiosks are easy to use to pick up tickets or purchase on the spot. Seats are comfortable, I don't believe they recline or at least not all the way back. Concession stand options are abundant. Go for the Cheetos popcorn!

I enjoy going to Cinepolis. The seats are reclinable, spaced well, and have a tray and cup holder. Good selection of movies are available here. My only knock would be the concessions. They could be a bit better. They are in the middle of upgrading the movie theater so hopefully that will change.

Love the large leather seats and plenty of space, so you never feel squeezed in. Usually not a crowded place so perfect for people who don't like cramped, small seating in theaters (early afternoon times are when I go). Staff is friendly though a little slow to deliver and the snacks could be fresher (popcorn usually cold) but overall a good place to catch a flick. Update: April 26th 2019 They have recently renovated the lobby/waiting area as well as some of the theaters and floors. Now with heated reclining seats in some theaters. I still go in the early afternoon with reserved seating. Sadly with the nicer renovations to the lobby, the food hasn't really improved, popcorn is still cold and old tasting, never seen it freshly popping. Hotdogs are a hit or miss. One consistent item are the nachos, perhaps cause they are bagged outside of the theater and nacho sauce comes out of a machine pre-made... They've also changed the sizes.. today watching the Avengers End Game, got a medium coke and popcorn but the "medium" Coke was the size of a SMALL Coke (and a thinner shorter straw) and the "medium" popcorn is SMALLER too in a bucket... Upside is that there are free refills.. but I'm not one to run in the middle of a movie for refills... Hopefully these things improve. I'll still go here to see movies on my half day work days because it's close by and a few dollars cheaper than AMC or Regal... Do mind you that the theaters are smaller than these other Cinemas so the screens aren't as large... but its comfortable and doesn't bother me.

The reclining seats were really comfortable and made for a pleasant viewing experience. I get discounted movie tickets from work as a perk, and I like that we are able to use these tickets to reserve seats online, unlike in the bigger name theaters where we have to show up, and on numerous occasions, couldn't even get seats next to each other. And the staff here seem to be better trained at good customer service, although they were a little weird with the snacks they saw in my backpack (also from work). Overall, this was a great movie theater and would now be our first choice every time we want to see a movie.

A really nicely updated, local movie theater. All of the employees I've come in contact with here are friendly, it's clean, and right by the E-train. It's one of our favorite movie theaters in The City. The new reclining seats should recline a little farther, in my opinion.

Came to see a shadow cast screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show one Friday night in March while spending the weekend in NYC, and I was quite impressed. Tickets were affordable, and the experience was amazing! It wasn't overly crowded, and I was delighted to walk into the screening room to see a massive dance party in progress preceding the movie! I immediately felt like I was among my people! Being a part of a Rocky Horror shadow cast where I live, I enjoyed seeing how NYC does it since I had only attended screenings in Philly and Orlando prior to this. I would definitely consider making regular trips to NYC to experience Rocky Horror since it's performed every Friday and Saturday night--the audience is made up largely of visitors (like myself) so it's perfect for those who are visiting and are looking for a place to let their real selves out for the night!

This is a really nice movie theater, quite clean. And assorted popcorn choices. The seats look newly renovated but, the back support does not recline, so it is very uncomfortable, only the leg support come out. Hence why I give it two stars. I will not be coming back to this theater for this reason. You are in a awkward position where the back is kept upright in a actual L form. It is very uncomfortable. This place had potential but I don't know why they didn't test out the recliner seats.

Pretty nice experience going to this theatre. The theatre itself was nice and very well kept. They had reclining seats but the drawback is only the legs go up which became pretty uncomfortable watching a movie for over an hour and half. I had used MoviePass with E-ticketing which was great.

This movie center triumphs them all. There is a waiting area where people browse their computers with the cinema's fast internet before seeing their movie, and a coffee dispenser where you may continuously refill your coffee. They offer carbonated water for those avoiding soda, and the popcorn is exactly what popcorn should be: fattening, salty and oily. It is a perfect movie theatre.

There aren't any truly amazing movie theaters in NYC (from what I've experienced), but Cinepolis is top 3 in my opinion. The leather seats are comfy but how come they didn't install reclining seats, when they did the remodel? They offer only reserved seating, which is what I prefer! I just used Fandango to reserve!

Cinepolis Chelsea....one of the best movie theaters I had ever selected. Their refreshments lasted me for a good duration but when I was done, I was pretty full. I went to see Alita: Battle Angel and those screen rooms are so big and the recliner chairs were so comfy that I almost didn't want to leave. They are so clean in there and the staff are super friendly. Prices were good too. They even asked how was my experience and that right there is what I call excellent service. If I had to select who was the star on the staff team, it will have to be Margurite. She was extremely helpful and since it was my first time visiting here, I knew exactly where to go thanks to her. I am definitely coming here again because it is one of those experiences that I will never forget.

I've been going to this movie theater since I was a kid and in the decades since, it's been owned by at least three different companies. Now they ask you to unzip your bag but don't really care if you've got your own snacks and water. With the newest itineration the tickets are $17 (+ online fees), however, the chairs recline! There are trays and plenty of leg room plus a cup holder. I read they even have table service in some of the theaters. They would have gotten a higher rating but nearly their whole entrance is under construction and only one of the soap dispensers was working in the bathroom (the one farthest from the exit). If the bathrooms were as nice as the reclining seating (I don't even have one of those!) this would be 4 stars. With all the improvements this new chain has been making, I wouldn't be surprised if it was next on their list to rehabilitate.

Still under construction, what used to be Bowtie Cinemas (and Clearview Cinemas before THAT) still manages to cater to the local population of Chelsea with artsy films and a blockbuster or two. Also, I was starving but they're concession stand was nowhere in sight, so I assumed it was out of commission due to construction being as how that's the main source of income for a theater.

A reasonably-priced cinema, with very comfortable seating: nice big, padded chairs that recline with a footrest and a huge amount of legroom to accommodate them. The popcorn was *slightly* too salty for my taste — make sure you ask for 'sweet' if you're used to it being the default! Picture and sound were as good as I'd demand — the only minor issue was that the aircon was audible enough to notice when it switched on/off, but it certainly made for a pleasant environment on what was a hot NYC day! Easy-to-use touch-screen ticket machines in the spacious lobby, and all areas — including the restrooms — were clean and tidy.

First time here but... Seating is 5 stars. Seats recline comfortably and all seats around me worked without issue. You get a little swinging wooden tray to play your concessions on, too. Amazing. Also, great legroom/walking space between rows!!! Popcorn is 5 stars. Plenty of yellow butter pieces and salty. No needs for toppings, in my opinion. 2D screen is 4 stars. I sat on the end and while I could see fine, screen was shorter than the seating area.

This cinema is good except for one MAJOR problem. The seats don't recline back enough so if you sit too close to the screen it will hurt your neck trying to crane your head upwards. The headrest is stiffer than the backrest so your back naturally slumps. To avoid this issue sit at least half way back or more. I like the individual seat trays but I can't believe no one tried these seats out properly before installing them...

Nice movie theater. they just had a rennovation so facilities are relatively cleaner and newer than your avg nyc theater. Slightly higher ticket price tag, $17 for admission which comes with nice reclined seats and plenty of space means slightly fewer seats for shows. avg theater fits maybe 50 ppl? I recomend getting there a little earlier for new releases if you are picky about seating. Now they also are offering dine in meal options too, fancier than typical concession fare. I have not tried them yet.

Lovely concession and ticket staff. Nice snacks. Seats comfy but don't recline enough. One star because before the previews started the black screen cover suddenly came down 2.5 feet and blocked the whole top of the screen!! When I informed the manager (2x) he insisted it was supposed to do that. Huh? The top of everyone's head in the movie was cut off and the movie was clearly not formatted correctly. I have been to a million movies and I've never seen the screen get SMALLER before the movie started. And I also had seen that movie before in a theater so i knew something was wrong immediately. Ridiculous. At least they gave me a refund.

Movie was Awesome. Theater was roomy and clean. But Cinépolis Chelsea needs better customer service. They need to state that they are a premium theater and will only accept premium tickets if you purchase tickets aside from Cinépolis. I had a situation where I purchased tickets from a corporate website. The tickets were traditional, not premium and I went to Cinépolis and they didn't accept and was not sympathetic.

It's a very clean theater. I always look for that. Not the screen or the sound system. Cleanliness. The seats are nice and reserved seating. They're these leather reclining chairs with a little food tray attached to place your food and drinks which is so convenient. The only thing I didn't like which I did think was kinda a big deal if you're going to advertise that you have the reclining chairs is that it barely reclines back! It's so uncomfortable. I thought my chair was broken but I realized everyone else was reclined as little as me. I think it might be like a 25° recline. Think airplane seats in front of the wall.

Something has happened to this theater. We have loved it for years but the past two visits were disappointing. Last week we went to see a movie using one of our last Movie Passes and were told the "system" was down. Not only could we not use the pass, but we could not use a credit card. We begrudgingly paid cash and asked if at least we could get a free popcorn. Nope. And the woman behind us, who did not have cash for a water was told to go down the street to the 7-11! There was no sympathy from the staff. Last night we were 15 minutes into the Avenger and the movie stoped and we were told we were switching theaters with a special showing of John Wick. Out we went and we waited 20 minutes in the new theater for the movie to begin again. At least this time a staff member, John Rodriquez, was extremely sympathetic and gave us a voucher for a free movie.

I ordered Rocky Horror Picture Show tickets online. It was June 21 and apparently it was sold out and without being informed and given a choice I was re-directed and bought tickets for June 22 which I did not want. I have called dozens of times and sent emails and no response. What kind of business is this? Guess I’ll have to dispute the charge on my credit card!

It's a very small theater but I thought it was cute and quaint. Parking can get hectic when you come during prime time hours or when a new movie is out so watch out!

I love this place. It has all the trappings of what I would--I do--imagine is an older style of movie-going. While I was there, attendants brought food and drinks to other patrons. It felt very much like this theater has gone way out of its way to make its patrons feel cared for. That may be essential, as this location has had a number (I think three) movie theaters in the 20+ years I've been waking along 23rd Street here in NYC.

It's very cute. Has the feel of a vintage theater but there are beautiful leather recliners with small moving tables at each seat.

My favorite movie theater. Plush leather recliners, fresh popcorn and every seat is a perfect, unobstructed view. The one con is the seats and theater temperature is so comfortable you might slip off to sleep even during an action packed movie.

I haven't been to the movies for quite some years. Went to see Bumblebee. Sound is fantastically sharp. You hear everything. Esp fight scenes. I like the reclining seats. Staff are people friendly. I'm going again.

Guard took sensitive items out of my friend's bag and showed them to multiple employees and customers! Incredibly rude. Absolutely abhorrent. The search was unnecessary and unwarranted. Almost put my friend to tears.

Easily the best theatre in all of Manhattan. The staff are professional, friendly and hospitable. The theatres themselves are amazing - the seats are huge, they recline all the way and you can ease into a comfortable 3 hour movie without breaking the bank. They show indie films and special films sometimes and the rotation of films happens regularly. All other theatres in New York need to do what Cinepolis Chelsea is doing, it’s legit.

Very cool and never crowded...Went up on the matinee price and shortened it from 4pm to 2pm to be able to use. Overall I love this theater!

Clean, modernize reclining cushiony seats with a good table. The staff standing around were always there to help a confused customer. Their drink filling station is a little small and can get crowded. Would visit again. The whole theater is clean and newish too.

This theater is always a pleasure to watch movies. You can pick your own seats and they are comfy and spacious. Crowds are usually well behave and service is always friendly. Their choices of gourmet popcorn are something different and yummy.

They have plenty of food chooses. However, they should have a lot of movies choose but overall, I like this theater and I would come back again.
