We went to the Dolby cinema to watch Avengers - Endgame. The experience was really good! The seats were very comfortable and doesn’t matter where you seat (either the very left or right), you have the full view of the screen. The sound quality is perfect which brings the movie to life. Overall, great experience!

Clean and decent for the city. It’s actually pretty easy to know where you’re going with all the signs and the staff assistance is really great here. I really recommend sitting in rows G and H if you’re in a large cinema. Best view in the entire room. The refreshments were great and thankfully cost was like the normal. Recommend: Highly

Been going here for a while. Easy to access because it's right by the ACE like and you can save a lot of money by buying the AMC Costco tickets. Also right next to Chipotle and 5 guys if you want food before/after. Not bad, but not spectacular.

I'm still watching the Adam's family and the movie is doble up, they have no stuff working and the popcorn I just bought it's burn and old...I try to change it but the stan it's closed as well. It was a complete waste of time and money.

The Dolby digital screen is really amazing. Central location always handy - we have AMC stubs A list, and go frequently. One or two screens have not yet been updated with the newer recliner seats found in most comas in NY now. The rest all updated and modern feeling.

I went to this amc for the first time with my cousins to watch a movie and it was hell of a experience. While I was there we went to the arcade and i put my bag down literally right next to me, while i was playing a game and BAM i look down and my bag was gone. At first i thought my cousins were messing with me but they weren't. So we went to guest service, one of the employees helped us and checked the security footage, sadly there aren't any cameras facing the arcade, which was very disappointing because in my bag, it contains my phone, airpods, wallet, and keys!!! like they should have cameras facing every direction, amc is a very big theater with a lot of floors. And i don't really think the employee actually checked the security footage. i just want people to know, be careful like i don't know, why people would do such a thing! ADD MORE SECURITY CAMERAS.

I really enjoyed visiting this theater. The staff was very friendly and respectful on both occasions. The environment and bathrooms are very clean. My grand daughter also commented on the cleanliness of the restrooms. There are many electrical outlets in the restroom, so you can charge your phone, if need be

Very old facilities. The seats are so sunken beyond repair. So uncomfortable experience. Only 'worthy' if you pay 5 bucks on Tuesdays. Otherwise avoid it. So many theatres in Manhattan better than this ones.

Could be cleaner. Surprised there aren't leather seats in all the theatres yet. Sound flickers in and out, staff doesn't all seem to be in uniform. IMAX glasses are OBVIOUSLY not cleaned between uses and left on dirty racks.

This is good, standard AMC theater for NYers. Been here several times. If you’re a non-NYer, you’ll be shocked at the box office pricing. If you’re a NYer, you’ve long accepted (and continued to grumble about) that you pay the highest prices in the US (and perhaps the world) for movies.

The whole time we watched the trailers with the lights on which was weird. Also we watched like 5mins of the intro to the movie with the lights on until I got up to look for someone and inform them. They noticed only when I went to them to complain that no one shut the lights off for the movie.

We visited AMC 34 to see shazam in prime 3D. Usually we don't prefer the 34th street one as it does not have all the movies and shows are not at matching times but since 42nd street one was showing all shows full we decided to go here. The seats are similar to a normal AMC theatre but i found it less clean then the other ones. The screen size was large enough and even the sound system was good. Since its not that populated theatre, we got in quickly and had a good time. Overall nice theatre but i would like it if its more clean...

This is my go to movie theater in 34th Street. It's not as expensive as others around the area besides the popcorns and drinks. They also have good selection of the latest movies with various times available. Furthermore, there are so many floors available which is a good thing since the place tends to get crowded around evening time. Overall, I'd really recommend this theater!

This is a huge movie theater. I went to see "The Bohemian Rhapsody" and it was amazing. The quality of sound in Dolby Digital Hall is very very good. Actually, I've enjoyed the movie mostly because of the amazing sounding! Base and Highs were perfectly set up as if at the rock concert. I definitely recommend this theater and if the movie is somehow related to music, visit the Dolby Digital Hall . You won't regret!

The concessions and tickets are pricey ($17+ for tickets and $6+ for food), but then again, its Manhattan, so no surprise there. The AC is not too high, so you can sit comfortably. The volume of the film is also at a comfortable level (i watched a horror film last time I was there)

I was disappointed because I lost a bag in theater yesterday. When I realized I forgot my bag after about 5 minutes I left the theater. I ran back to the theater but was stopped by the staff saying I couldn't return to the theater, but she was able to have the staff look for it but they didn't find it. I asked if I could just go upstairs to find it myself because I knew exactly where it was. They said the next movie had already begun, I had to wait till it's finished. The manager came downstairs to talk to me, not really trying to help me, but just asked my information in case that they find it. It's the worst experience I had.

AMC has a consistency that you have to admire. As an AMC A List member, I take advantage of the perks quite a bit and frequent several different theaters in Houston, San Antonio, and NYC. The Times Square location offers a respite from the bombardment of ads and pictures by bombarding you with one projection, although one of your choice. The theaters are staggered across 5/6 levels throughout the building. The setup is mad awkward at first but once you know your theater number the helpful staff will help you. The location had a plethora of theaters; this theater also has some indie and off mainstream selections you won't find at other locations. Tip: Get your popcorn and sodas as soon as you get there. If you sit down to get your seats you'll spend another 10 minutes going back down to the lower level. Drink refill fountains are on all levels so that helps during the movie. Tip 2: With so many people coming in with bags, the policy is very weak so feel free to bring a backpack loaded with whatever. We always sneak in drinks. Yup, I'm those people.

I love the design of the floor area when waiting for a ticket or a movie film. The vast space they have at the food/snack section with many variety types of movie theater hall from 2D-3D, Dolby Sound and IMAX experience! Its great place to take your kids for a treat and family/school outings. I watched 2 movies in a row and I couldn't help myself that I wanted more. The best part its conveniently close to 34th street Hudson are an train tracks and Subway transportation

Came and saw the Joker Movie and it was simply a great experience. The popcorn was PERFECT! The soft drink were soft drinks and candy is all the same. I do want acknowledge how great the staff there are. When as soon I'd walked away, somebody knocked them out of my hands. I was visibly, but the staff jumped into action. Got me another soft drink and popcorn as well as cleaning up the spill I'd made earlier

Yes I would recommend this place. It's surrounded by a variety of different restaurants. Perfect place for a date or hanging out with friends. The reason I gave it 4 out of 5 was because getting inside the parking structure took forever. Traffic was crazy. To get in and out.

Conveniently located near MSG, Penn station, and most subway routes. There are several floors to navigate before getting where you want to go. Ground floor is tickets, first floor is the ticket scanner, second is concessions and theaters 1-6, third is bathrooms, and fourth is every other theater. The standard theater seats would make you feel cramped up and make it hard to walk if someone is blocking your way. Picture and audio are decent compared to other AMC's. There is also a Dolby and IMAX theater.

Came for an advanced screening for a movie and there was a truly vile woman directing us to our seats, saying we had to sit in a certain area, then rudely spoke to my girlfriend and myself. Then, I sat down, saved my seat and went to get food at the concession stand (which is a MESS to get through, zero efficiency), and a man came in and yelled at my girlfriend for saving my seat. Ended up getting threatened out of our seats by this stranger with no help from security. Never coming back, absolutely zero service, efficiency or humanity. Would rather watch a movie in hell.

We got a ticket for a movie at 4 and the movie didn’t even start till 5! Not only do they not have recliner seats in most of the theaters, but jeez taking an hour to begin a movie that starts at 4 is not acceptable ! Definitely not recommended! I would not be coming back here again to watch a movie. If you value your Time, go somewhere else.

This theater stinks. There aren’t enough people to handle the concessions. There are concession counters on three floors, and all but one was closed. (The one farthest from the movie.) Service was so slow, we missed the start of the movie. Only one of the soda machines had ice. The whole experience was the worst.

Decent multiplex with very friendly staff. The box office is on the ground floor as you enter and the screens span multiple floors above. Its very dated compared to all the other theaters that have undergone renovation with recliners but the screens and sound systems are fairly up-to-date. They offer seat reservations like other theaters and the snack selection is above average.

I ordered online express pick up and they had it ready 20 minutes later. No apology nothing. So I was happy seeing Dark phoenix but the wait was ridiculous and I saw two other people have the same problem.

Pretty good theater. Saw avengers endgame here. Theater was big, picture and sound were good, but chairs could've been comfier. They were very slippery. Also the snack stand on the top floor was closed during one of the biggest movie openings ever which was very odd

I haven't been here in a while. The location is great as it's close to Penn Station with easy access to transit. It's also convenient for dining before or after viewing a movie. The lobby is super busy and sort of confusing. There should be clear lines and both that indicate where you can check in when using online tickets/apps. Theater was fine. Clean, no sticky floors, good sound, nice clear screen, and the perfect room temperature. The only thing that bugs me about this theater is the location of the bathroom. If your theater is on a different floor, than the bathroom, and you need "to go" during the movie, you could miss a chunk of the movie. In addition, the bathroom needs to be better maintained. Didn't order any thing from the concession stand so cannot comment on service.

For the price I paid for tickets and popcorn, I expected it to be nicer in the theater. The bathrooms were dirty and outdated. The seats in the theater were uncomfortable. While watching the movie they have the projector so low that everytime someone from the top row go up they were blocking the picture.

I've been come to this AMC theater a few times every year. It is pretty typical and is fairly big compared to other movie theaters. The facilities are pretty clean and the staff are helpful. However, in this day in age, more and more theaters, like the AMC Village 7 are replacing their standard seats with recliner seats and I feel like this theater could really benefit from it.

Better bring up your ticket on the app before going in here. There's pretty much no cell phone reception in here. They sometimes don't accept your app ticket and they have to print it out for some reason. Soda machines sometimes don't have ice. Decently clean. IMAX issue. Went to see Shazam: They put the lights on about 30 minutes before the movie was done.

Great local and great movie spot. We love coming here for our favorite Marvel movies and have done so throughout the years. This theater has a flowing "clean" bathroom because of its double isles of stalls I imagine. The staff is jovial and genuinely so.

This is somewhat of an older theater although it shows still a fair number of different new and current running movies. There are a number of different stair and escalator combinations to get you up to the different floors, although half of the soda vending machines didn't work when we were there and the lines were terribly long for getting snacks. Also note, bathrooms aren't on every floor which is somewhat of a problem given how crowded it can get.

Theater has multiple floors. First floor is where you can buy tickets and just socialize if your in the mood or waiting for someone.. 1 1/2 floor is where you check in. 2nd floor is where all the rooms to the movies are located. The food is also located on this floor for your favorite movie snacks from popcorn to boxed candies. The 3rd floor is where the restrooms are located. Women's restroom is visible from the escalators but if your looking for the men's, you have to walk around a corner to find it. Place is framed with upcoming movies and past hits/posters. Overall a great theater and it's only a 3-5 min walk to Penn station for those who are travelling by train.

The theater is currently closed due to internal issues. They did not notify us before the movie for tickets we purchased online that the theater is closed. When I asked the lying manager Jared why they are not notifying people, he first said we should have gotten an email about it and a refund. Neither was true. I then asked why are you still not notifying people who may be coming to the theater for no reason. He then said, because there's a chance the theater will open later. Thanks for the huge waste of time! Way to steal your customers time and lie to their face about it, Jared.

Been here a few times for the Dolby Cinema films. Really crisp quality. Only issues is sometimes construction goes on above and the subwoofers aren't calibrated correctly so they just vibrate and sound washed out.

Unfortunately AMC app wasn't working so I had to stand on line to speak to an associate. The movie time was 4pm. I arrived at 3:45pm. There was one person to help and the wait was long. She was helpful but I think at least 2 people should have helped the movie patrons. I usually visit the Kips Bay theater which have reclining seats. The seats at 34th was very uncomfortable. I'm glad I chose 4pm because the theater wasn't crowded. I was able to spread out. Next time I'll take the extra train and visit 19th and Broadway or Kips Bay theaters.

Multiplexes are spacious and accommodating, but tend to be a bit samey, cold and impersonal at times. The first time I stepped into the AMC at 34th, I was surprised and pleased at its interiors, resembling the old-timey theatres of yesteryear. From the obvious features, like pictures of actors from the Golden Age of Hollywood, to the halls, the paneling and muted colours adorning every millimetre of each individual theatre. It's a step back in time, which keeping one foot firmly, subtly, in the present. I should so some research on if this building was indeed ALWAYS a movie house. One relatively thin building with two or three movie houses on each floor suggests it wasn't, but who knows? Stranger things have happened in New York's history. Finding a lovely place like AMC 34th was a GOOD kind of strange.

I was in the city with my son and came across this theater while heading home. We decided to catch a movie. The theater is huge, but a little dated. There are many screens, meaning there are a lot of options when booking a movie. Usually we use the app, but decided to use the kiosk to book our ticket. The concession stand didn't have a line and we were able to grab our drinks and snack quickly. All in all it was a pleasant experience and I would visit this theater if I were in the area again.

Good experience overall. The tickets are a bit pricey but it is Manhattan. I’m not sure about all the theaters but I was in theater 2 and it didn’t have the large recliners that many theaters now come with. They might be available in the more advanced theaters but the basic ones don’t have them.

AMC has projectors that produce sharp pictures. The seats are well spaced and recline. The audio alone makes it worthwhile to watch movies here.

It's good, I went for IMAX for Hobbs and Shaw. But due to lack of recliner I won't recommend you going to this AMC IMAX. The screen felt smaller than the traditional IMAX. I would prefer Newport AMC over it.

I work on 26h and Broadway--not just a hop, skip and a jump away from 34th and 8th, but...worth it when I have the time. I'm a shrink--a psychoanalyst--here in New York City and there's just no better break from the heads that are shrunk in my Old OK Office than a on-screen get-away! I enjoy AMC 34 very much the people are nice there was one fella who wore Green nail polish he was stink but other than that someone very nice and I love the macaroni and cheese with bacon thank you AMC 34 I love going on Tuesdays that’s my day I am a senior citizen who enjoy other senior citizens enjoying the movies in the bathroom stay clean too!

This place is groady. I wouldn't recommend it unless it's super convenient time or location wise. The seats are super old and uncomfortable in the regular theaters. The concessions area are really gross, see pictures of the messy area by the drinking fountains. It makes me wonder what the kitchen/back of house areas are like - yikes! AMC has been doing minor renovations that don't impede on operations, but I hope they start to take some theaters offline to give them some needed attention. Like some of the theaters downtown have gotten some much needed TLC. Hopefully this theater does soon too!

Saw Shaft. Had to sit in Row C, so it was a bit too loud. Seats were comfortable but did not recline. Refresments were ridiculously priced. But that is the norm for the industry. Clean.

Disappointed that the popcorn we ordered was part chewy and the other part had a burned taste to it. Overall, the theater is clean and the iMax "rocker" seats are nice

Confusing to say the least. Buying tickets was easy o the kiosk, but it took me a while to find the correct theater. When I got into the room it was completely dark and still playing the ending credits of a previous movie, which made me think I was on the wrong place. Eventually I found my seat and waited 10 minutes until the credits rolled out. Sound was just ok. Movie literally started 1 hour after the scheduled time due to so many ads and games. Truly irritating.

If you going to see a movie see it and Dolby Cinema, the location of Central, food is always fresh, the recliners are new, great theater

Not overly crowded most of the time and generally nice but, some of the smaller theaters are in desperate need of a renovation. The old, standard, bucket chairs are nasty with stains from years of use. I bring things to cover them when I go. Still not anywhere near as nasty as some of the old chairs at the AMC 42nd Street. I definitely prefer 34th street over 42nd.

This AMC has become my go to in the city. I highly recommend checking out a Dolby Cinema experience film! (The extra cost of the ticket is well with it) The screen and sound system are state of the art and better than most IMAX experiences. Overall this is a great theater; clean and has a good staff. It can get really busy so I recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time. It's also close to Penn Station/MSG so there's lots to do in the area of you want other activities before or after a film.

I love AMC on 34th Street because of the great selection of movies that are shown here. There are constantly many different types of events, movie premieres, foreign films, and special screenings that are played here as well. There are also discounts and money you can save if you become an AMC rewards member. There are 3D movies, IMAX movies, Dolby Cinema movies and 3D+HDR that are shown here.

Visited this AMC location to see The Matrix for the 20th anniversary in their Dolby theater. Comfortable reclining seats but the screen is much closer because it's smaller than the one at 42nd Street AMC. The sound was at times loud too. And it's in better shape than 42nd Street. The bathrooms on the 4th level are old but fairly clean (there is no restroom on the same floor as the Dolby theater), professional staff, concession is on the 3rd level along with a handful of arcade games.

Nice theater.. Good seats.. Not plush recliners but comfy and they move back slightly.. They have a really good menu with pizza.. Mac and cheese.. Sliders.. Food is definitely a plus here. Bathrooms could be a bit cleaner and soda area floor was super sticky.. Overall it's really good for the area.. Area can be a bit sketchy if you catch a late movie.. Workers were nice, ticket girl working on 2nd floor was really cool and had an awesome smile for everyone..

Other than the Lincoln Center IMAX theater, this is the best I've been to, anywhere. The Dolby Cinema experience is great: padded leather seats with electronic controls for reclining and a footrest. It's cleaner than most theaters from what I've noticed and the movies look, sound (and feel) awesome. Food is regular, overpriced movie theater food but this is my go-to theater for my AMC A-List subscription.
