Kelsy Wilson

Super great theatre really affordable snacks

Daniel Carey-Whalen

Thank goodness for small one screen independent theatres. And thanks for hosting the Way Out West film fest.

Ann

Locally owned. Great art house films that you won't ever see anywhere else on the big screen. Thanks for being part of our community!

Rip Williams

The Guild bring tons of content to town which might not otherwise find a venu, (co)hosting projects like Albuquerque Film Festival, Porntopia, Dan Savage's Hump... as well as reprisals of favorites like Pink Floyd The Wall, Rocky Horror and more. Check their eclectic schedule often!

Jana Opincariu

Consistently great staff!

Rippy Sillyettes

My daughter's and I absolutely love this theater. We were here for Candy Corn. Amazing movie. Thanks for showing it.

Absolutely irreplaceable Albuquerque home for all flavors of unconventional, classic, and otherwise under-the-radar cinema. A+ food and drink, welcoming and knowledgeable staff!

Along with my temple, the Outpost Performance Space, the Guild Cinema is my church.

Petty

Had the BEST time watching everyone involved with the Rocky Horror Picture Show !!!!!

Julie Mollica

I've never gone to a theater like this before the Guild, but I love it so much. Some of the films are a bit out of league, but I love the experience. Great popcorn and cool people. You should definitely check it out, if you haven't already! Certainly one of the more unique places in Albuquerque.

Steven Crisp

Always a wonderful experience to enjoy independent films in a laid back way. Owners are nothing but friendly!

Justin Garoutte

Awesome local and independent cinema here in Albuquerque. They show a huge variety of films, and even partner with local groups to show specific films.

Joseph Trujillo

Rare & powerful movies good prices

Mark Baker

Very cool theater in a cool spot. Love to catch dinner in Nob Hill and then a movie at the Guild. Keep rocking, Guild!

Sherina Guimmond

Everyone that works here is so friendly and the place was packed! Great first time.

Mr C

Used to go to Santa Fe for limited-distribution films, but now find those films here - at 1/3 the price. Nice little theater and people running it are delightful. Screen itself, though is rather small, about the same size as in one of the multiplexes, so don't expect, "Cinerama!"

Harley Pearson

Amazing!!!! Loved this place!!! Loved the movie! Staff was incredible, didnt expect a full concession stand but pleasantly surprised to find an amazing variety of snacks and drink! Cant wait to go back!

Joel Nossoff

Small, intimate cinema where you can count on seeing films shown nowhere else in Albuquerque. Documentaries, classics, drama, comedy, foreign language films, animation. Excellent web site and very reasonable admission prices. An Albuquerque institution. Excellent quality projection and sound.

LMSonrisa

This cinema is one of the places in Albuquerque that makes it better to live here.

Alfred Candelaria

Awesome nostalgic movie theatre. Not very big at all but great.

Martin Livgren

Excellent FILM NOIR and out-of-print oldies but goodies! Great restored films, too! Reasonably priced movie tickets and popcorn, too!

Yvette Ammerman

While other theaters have seats that shake and 3D to try to goad you into engagement, the Guild's choice of movies relies solely on incredible content and cinematography to transport you into a new experience. This is my go-to theater.

Kody Audette-Ingbretson

Best place to see the coolest off the wall films.

Mauro Walden-Montoya

The Guild is an arthouse theater, so is much more intimate and personal than the big chain theaters. You get to meet the owners and talk with them about the movies - for which they clearly have a love for, and intimate knowledge of. They host several film festivals every year including Way Out West, the LGBTQ film festival, which takes place in October. When I go to the movies, I want to sit back, relax and enjoy myself with some good snacks. And here you don't get ripped off - a large tub of popcorn with real butter costs $4! Drinks are equally inexpensive, as are other snacks like candy. And their normal movie offerings range from silly comedies to esoteric biopics, dramas and movies that wouldn't hold a "blow up everything in sight" moviegoers' attention, but are fun, funny, dramatic, romantic and thought provoking with nary an explosion in sight. Prices for tickets are much more reasonable than big theaters too. If you love movies - this is definitely the place for you!

Kevin R. Elder

There is no other theatre where I'd rather see a movie. The Guild is not only the place to see films you likely can't see anywhere else, but it is such a rare atmosphere; It's an ABQ historical icon. The owner loves movies and loves ABQ, and he loves bringing movies to ABQ. The Guild is single handedly keeping the spirit of "cinema" alive in this town. With the option for watching nearly anything through streaming services, attending a showing at The Guild is a reminder that movie watching is a communal activity. Film as entertainment is far more enjoyable with friends & strangers than it is as merely a solitary experience. Watching with others gives a better sense of togetherness and is a reminder for most of us that we need others to have a more than satisfactory life. The prices are crazy low on both the ticket and the concessions. It is clear that The Guild cares about the community, and I hope you will join me in letting The Guild know that the community cares about its existence just as much. Anyone that cares about their community, as well as believing a healthy community comes from our shared experience, should take the time and energy to support this ABQ landmark. There is little reason not to spend some time, energy, and finances, on watching a new or classic movies at The Guild Cinema. If you haven't ever been - go this week. If you haven't been in a while - go this week. If you already went last night to the Friday Night Midnight Movie Madness showing - go again this week. It's always worth it, and I can't recommend an experience at The Guild Cinema enough.

Mark Ladd

Awesome to have a theatre that is willing to show diverse films

Rachel Montgomery

I love this place!

Josh Goble

The manager is extremely friendly. It's a small theater but that doesn't detract from the experience. This is a great place to go see independent films.

Estrella Avila

Oooh I just love The Guild Cinema. Look at their Facebook page or just walk by to see the list of shows.

M Csn

Nice small venue showing less well-known Indy fare.

Susan Moore

There is always a great movie coming up, love the local input before/after the show.

Jim Buchanan

Great theater for art movies. Seating is cramped but those movies are worth the effort.

Jennifer Baca

I've never come here and not had an absolute blast!!

Kevin Saavedra

I appreciate the variety of films here. I mostly come for anime (though, now it seems like most screenings are through Fathom events), but I'm constantly checking the website for anything that catches my eye. There have been a couple of unpleasant experiences. The film skipped when I watched I'm So Proud of You a few years back, and they had to stop the movie and rewind it. I recently sat through a movie where I had the pleasure of listening to cellphone notifications while someone was kicking my seat and making noise right behind me. Signage about what to do in these situations, or a reminder before the film to be courteous, would be nice. In such a small theater, a minor annoyance can ruin a film.

Jill Saylor

I always enjoy going to the Guild. Abq. is lucky to have an independent theater that shows alternative films.

Dwayne Benallie

I love this tiny theatre, the lobby is little but the concession options were great. The option of hot tea and coffee choices is really convenient, the seats aren't stadium but they are comfortable. The presentation is good, the picture was clear and clean, the sound is balanced just perfect not too loud or too low. Everything about this theatre screams original, independent and local, I well definitely recommend watching a non-big budget or foreign or documentary film here.

C.K. Blair

The best eclectic cinema I have experienced in my life. The occasional door prizes for their events, the festivals, and the wide variety of cinema available shows that there is something here for all lovers of film: mainstream to the independant.

Kael Marshall

Classic...great movies you wont find at another theatre. Wish they did more kids movies on the weekend.

Nadine Nagamatsu

A charming theater reminiscent of Movie going in it's half-day! Darling space with good sound & that old timey feel. Highly recommend checking out a film at this spot! In Nob Hill.

Free Sparky

Tho the size & intimate quality of the venue were tasteful, the "no re-entry" policy became a bother... fauxpas

Brenda Romero

Tiny, cool place with indy vibe. Good sound, cool to see an old or independent film.

Troy

This a nice, locally owned one room theatre. They show films you can't find anywhere else like documentaries and such. The theatre itself was a little dirty with popcorn on the floor but other than that it was a nice experience. Students get a discount, a ticket won't cost more than 8 dollars I think.

Mike Anderson

Always interesting and the popcorn is good.

Nora B

Great theater with super concessions at decent prices. The employees are friendly. A fan of their movie choices.

Greg Krause

Annual Film Noir Festival is a must see. Great place!

Capamer

Support local!

Matthew Toplikar

A true local treasure! The friendly staff are very knowledgable cinephiles that curate a unique selection of films every month. From old classics to hip independent films (and local films on occasion). The Guild is an important part of ABQ's cultural landscape.

Billy Couvillion

Tiny, but no bad seats. Box office doesn't open until 15 minutes before showtime.

Fill Jeantete

Love the silent movie nights!

M Schildgen

Nobody can deny the great variety to be seen here. Unfortunately the same goes for the clientele. With only 1 person on staff who is busy running the machine, there is nobody to keep order. We had a dirtball in the crowd constantly talking and picking fights with strangers. Someone went to get the staff and there wasn't anyone to do anything. Things got loud with people telling him to stop until the man upstairs had to stop the movie and turn on the lights. Most of the crowd just stared blankly at the screen, like zombies, as if this was normal. After asking maybe 1 question they declined to eject the troublemaker, instead offering several of us who just decided to just leave a voucher for another movie. Yeah, no thanks. Staff has poor judgment and inadequately dealt with what would've been a relatively simple situation at any mainstream theater. I blame it partly on the location, as Nob Hill is well known for random varieties of people, including druggies, bullies, thieves, and drunks throwing up on the sidewalk.

Bruce Underwood

Fantastic movie s that you can't see anywhere else .

Adric M

I love this place! Aside from the UNM Sub theater its our only regular Independent movie theatre. Not all of the movies they show are ones i will love, but more often than not they are really great works! Real butter, not way overpriced concessions, small but comfortable theatre, good sound, great caring owners. This place is a real Gem!

Janet Evans

Awsome place. Small friendly place..

Leah Jolene Jeffcoat

Important educational films for the entire family.

Anders von Reis Crooks

Great venue older but shows some great movies and was very accommodating

Sean O'Brien

Great local cinema. Lots of special screenings. I really enjoy the late night movies, especially around halloween

Drew Celia Einhorn

Great independent and art house films.

Niya Johnson

Pleasant owners and great events!

Cammy Finley

Lovely. Amazing. The best independent and foreign art house cinema in the nation, as far as I'm concerned. Keif Henley, the owner, will speak with you, in depth about almost any film, since the birth of the art, as will Don, Chris, Jeanette, and anyone working there. Along with guest directors, and Devon's midnight movie choices, they bring the world to your feet. What's more, with both a platter system and digital, there is nothing you can't see. From the tiniest unknown film, to the most independently renowned, they book it. It is both a beautiful experience and an education, if you choose, when you attend.

pamela rice

Was really fun

Kelly Coogan

The only place in town to see non mainstream movies. I love it.

Sam Archambault

Just saw the original Texas Chain Saw here. Pretty neat.

Natasha Howard

Great movies that you cannot find at the mainstream theaters!

Jeff Hartzer

So many positive changes has brought The Guild to the jewel level of the cinematic arts. Kudos.

Mars Hall

Best popcorn in town and the only place for indie movies!

HiprVylan 505

This place is cool. It's got a nostalgia feel of old school Cinema. People there are real friendly and can tell you anything you want know. Admission is cheap and concession too. Great place to check out a different movie or go friends who like stories.

Doug

Very small theater with obviously dated equipment but the ticket price is low and the snack bar options and prices are awesome.

Big Things Go Boom

Where else are you going to see Taxi Driver, Falling Down or some artsy fartsy black and white movie on the big screen in crappy old ABQ? Huh? Tell me! Yeah..that's what I thought.

Sara Langella

Great little theatre and great customer service. Love it here.

Meghan O'Connor

You can't go wrong here for a wonderful evening. Art films (Although we saw the Rocky Horror anniversary Picture Show, which was AMAZING), reasonably priced snacks and drinks, a cozy atmosphere, great people... We will absolutely be back to see more. I love supporting local little theaters and this one is now dear to my heart as a new ABQ resident.

Roy Pitrucha Hall

One of my favorites in ABQ. I can see a documentary, foreign film, old classic, or an independent film on any given week for a great price tickets and concessions although limited are very inexpensive as well. It has a great location near bars and resturaunts. Tip: get there early to park. It can be difficult to find parking

Kevin Serkes

Great cinema and prices. Films unavailable anywhere else in Albuquerque and a sense of mission for film lovers

Joe Annabi

The Guild offers some of the best culture experiences in abq!

dee cee

Great old fashion cinema. Redone nicely, great, friendly, funny staff. Always enjoy events here. Adds to the Nob Hill experience

Mark Jewell-Roth

Saw Rafiki. Theater was small but great.

Cathryn Ana Glenday, MPH, MA, LPCC

Great art and international film theater close to UNM. It is not a fancy theater but shows unique films. There is limited street parking.

Cedar Erickson

I adore the Guild Theater

Clay Farrow

Small art house theater has been a part of the university area for decades. Great, cozy venue!

M Foster

Best movies! Best popcorn!

Don Robbins

Great "Back to Billy" Premiere

Carol Orona

So nice to be able to see movies that don't seem to get to the big theaters. Fabulous movie selections and special screening events. The foreign films are great!

Susan Page

Our home away from home. We tease that we go there every time they change the toilet paper, but we honestly do go every time they change the movie. Kief and Don manage to show an amazing variety of movies on their single screen. Then Kief waits in the lobby to ask "well, what did you think?" Great refreshments: popcorn with almost too much real butter, cashews and peanuts for those of us lacking time in our day for meals and movies, great selection of sodas and tea. Always a great experience especially for this old lady who remembers when the Guild was a dirty movie theater in the days before videos could be watched at home. In junior high, my best friend and I would go on the bus to see Gable and Bogart here. Try it, you'll love it!

Stan Alexander

The Guild theater is good, and it is nice to have an art theater in the city. The tickets prices are fair, and the concession stand is much more affordable than most cinemas in town. That said, this is a very old cinema house, and it is a little bit on the small side, as is the screen.

Brenda Bodnar

Love this iconic theater! Popcorn is terrific too!

Josh Bivens

I saw Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me here as part of a month-long Lynch retrospective. The theater has a small, homespun quality to it. I love this theater and the kinds of movies they show.

Frank Farinaro

Great theater, great snacks, and friendly staff!

Diego Colom Steele

Great little local movie theater with movies you won't find anywhere else. You can tell a lot of love goes into this place well worth it.

Gabe Roberts

Coolest place I've been in a while. It reminded me of home. I would have rated it 5 stars, but the popcorn needs a little help(sorry) and the movie selection doesn't appeal to everyone.

Ramon Briceño

It's very small but so nice and comfortable

Peter Cooley

Great movies not usually seen in large cineplexes

Barry Ore

This is an aweosme theater in the heart of Nob Hill on historic route 66. The theater features foreign films, classics, and local productions.

Elizabeth Reed

So fantastic to have a cinema in town that's not beholden to corporate media and that shows great community and independent films.

William Maxwell

Friendliest theater and best movies anywhere

Flora Olson

Enjoy this little treasure... Folks show a variety of film genre.... Even a late night show

Bill Ferguson

Great community supporting business. Good prices for movies & snacks.

John West

Selinda G

An Albuquerque gem! The Guild is one of those independent theaters that showcases both obscure and mainstream films. Lots of special events featuring guest appearances and discussions. Has Sat matinees for the kids, late nights for the adults and everything in between. I love the local feel...Kief seems to remember everyone by name, even when popping corn, taking tickets and running projection all at once.

Seth Beecher

Best place to see a foreign/indy movie... inexpensive popcorn and soda... a very fun experience.

Michael Jones

Wonderful film festivals from independent and small film makers. Hump!, Horror, cult classics and more. Definitely one of the better cultural touch stones of Albuquerque.

T. N. L.

Humble theater. Makes a great place for private screenings, and special events.
