Great theater. Clean, easy to get to and variety of show times. We joined the rewards program recently as well and it is great. I also like the assigned seating they now have. Takes the pressure off having to rush to make sure you get a seat or getting there and finding out the show is sold out. My one and only gripe is they need more registers and staff by the concession stand. I have never seen (even on slower weeknights ) where you didn't wait forever. You have to plan your time getting there around how long it takes to get your food. Other than that it is our go to theater!

I went with my girlfriend to see the new Annabelle movie and the service was terrible. We walked in to the building to find a row of unsupervised ticket kiosks packed with people who were clearly struggling to use them. Next, we get into the theater that was disgusting. Trash was all over the theater and there was clearly no effort made to clean it. The sound wasn’t even on for the trailers, it wasn’t turned on until the movie started. Meanwhile, throughout the whole experience, the lights were on during the whole movie. Also, about 20 minutes in to the movie, the movie was paused and RESTARTED with no explanation whatsoever. Shortly after, the two of us went to grab popcorn and a drink. We walk up to the register to find no popcorn and had to wait 15 minutes to get a regular sized bag of popcorn. I’m absolutely disgusted with my experience tonight and I will not be returning.

Reserved seating is very nice and the seats were comfortable. I watched a non imax or 3d movie and it was blurry the whole time. Maybe it was the room itself (room 16) or that it was a early showing and they didnt care.

Management at this location has serious issues. On a freqient bases basic expectations are not meet. Lobby and concession floors are not maintained. Bathrooms are always a mess and not stocked well. The seats in the auditoriums squeak when you move. Additionally, films start late way too frequently. Management has no knowledge the films have not started and only start working on the issue when you complain about the late start. The explanation: "The movie started on time. We just did not play the previews. I can give you a pass for any inconvenience." Very sad when they can't even acknowledge their failure to meet the expectation of starting a film on time and shoo you away with the offer of a pass for another show. A free pass is nice but some honesty and working on the basics would be better.

We went to a movie in the morning which is a bit cheaper. There is plenty of parking. The staff were very helpful to us buying tickets. We often get coffee or popcorn when we go here to have in the the movie. They show a lot of trailers which we take note of to look for movies in the future.

Five stars for the Dolby and I-Max Theatres at this AMC in Rockaway, NJ. Is it too much to ask for the butter stations to actually have butter in them? Is it too much to ask for a salt shaker to be present? There have been numerous times where myself and other people would have to walk to the other station which is not close and we would have to dodge other patrons to get there. I give this AMC a 1 star rating for being understaffed and for not having their condiment stations properly filled. Also 1 star for not having their scanner operational to scan my mobile phone for the ticket that I purchased to try and make it easier to get into the AMC in the first place!!! Having 2 classes of lines "Premier Member" "Non Premier " and only 1 person behind the counter to accommodate all of the peoples orders is totaly unacceptable and a total disservice. There are several cash register stations too!! It is mindboggling!!! 1 star is too much for the total lack of caring in these regards!! I was there yesterday and 1 girl was there to help me at the kiosk and says, " This will be the new way to purchase your ticket at the box office due to the ticket person job being eliminated soon. If this is the case than their prices for popcorn should drop!! Right? I only come to this location because Cinopolis is even worse and has smaller screens. At Cinopolis they will even ask you for Identification to get in!!! Unreal!! AMC at Rockaway, please do a better job.

Do yourself a favor and try the Dolby screen but make sure to be well rested as the chairs recline and are so comfortable I fell asleep before the end of the movie.

The new Dolby theater, while expensive, is so worth it to me. The seats are BEYOND comfortable (and adjustable) and I really like that you can pick you seats online. I wish the digital theaters came with these seats. Or, at the very least, pick your seat online.

It's okay for some reason being a gold status member doesn't mean anything because they allow non gold members in front of you anyway. But I still love this place because it is clean and the people may be rude at times but its apart of the experience I guess.

I always enjoy watching movies here. AMC A-List is a pretty good value for movie watching. You do get some discounts with the Stubs rewards and popcorn upgrades but that's not where you get the value. Concessions are overpriced at every movie theater because that's how they make money and not from the ticket sales. To get the most out of A-List is to see at least 1 movie per week and in IMAX if you can. Aside from that, this theater in Rockaway is usually pretty clean. If it isn't, you can blame your fellow patrons for not trying to clean up after themselves or for intentionally making a mess like I've seen some do. The seating is usually comfortable and IMAX theater has the best sound for hearing the dialogue. As I get older, this is becoming more important. LOL

This is a big modern theater with many options such as 3D and IMAX. They have a great easy to use website to order assigned seat tickets and even concessions before you arrive, which I do recommend because the lines can get long. The theaters are clean, the temperatures are not to cold, and the movies are in good condition.

Great theaters, but so clear that they are failing with scheduling or are under hiring. Nothing clean, movie starting and theater still not clean, garbage cans overflowing onto the ground, long lines at concessions with only two people working, just feel bad for the employees.

We saw Aladdin. We had a good experience...plenty of leg room, comfortable seats. Tasty popcorn and icee! I'm not a fan of the assigned seats though. There was a problem with people behind us who came in late and someone was in their seat. Very distracting. Also the lights never came back on after the movie...people had to turn on their phone flashlights.

Unfortunately not a great review. My wife came out and said the womens bathroom was gross. We stood online at the snack counter way too long. That may seem petty but when you are charging 15 dollars for a soda and a popcorn plus the cost of the ticket to get in-it is annoying. Only one employee working the counter with about 25-30 people in line growing by the minute. No one comes over and helps the one employee with the growing line. You can hear the customers complaining to each other. Add a couple of kids behind the counter so people can get their absurdly priced treats and into the theater to see the previews already. The Dolby experience is always amazing-thats a plus and definitely offsets the negative. I have held off twice now posting a negative review publicly. Someone in management needs to take note. Sorry AMC you should be better than this.

Poor Management. Drove from PA to see La Llorona today. Bought the tickets. Got to the transgender ticket taker, then found out that the projector was broken. Was told to go back to the front desk for a refund. Manager at the desk told me that they were having trouble giving refunds and that I could only be refunded for one ticket, the child admission! Called my credit card company and was told that AMC was already paid and to wait a few days to dispute the charge. Out $36 in tickets, plus gas from the long drive back and forth. Total waste of a day. They tried to offer me passes, NO THANKS. Will stay local next time.

Unimpressed the last two times I’ve been there. Tonight was probably the worst experience I’ve had there, which is sad, because I initially liked this movie theatre a lot. We went to watch ‘The Lion King’ at 7:30, but the screen was blank with no previews playing. Not until 8:10pm did someone actually switch on the move, and when they did, the iconic Lion King opening was ruined but the 3D screen. This screening was supposed to be regular IMAX, and someone dropped the ball terribly here and showed the wrong format. The issue was resolved in the first minute of the song, but t ruined the crucial opening moment. The seats are also pretty squeaky and creaky, but otherwise are a decent size and are ok for comfort.

Food OMG so expensive. A pretzel and a med. Soda was $16 and change. Rockaway location. Movie in Succasunna was so CHEAP. A big plate of pretzel nuggets and a huge coke was about $5.00 approx. And my ticket was 4 bucks cheaper. I'm a senior but that doesn't matter. Next time I go I'll bring my own food.

Went to see pet cemetery tonight order chicken fingers before the movie missed a quarter of the movie waiting went into the movie came back 20 minutes later still wasnt ready talked to management after and only got a refund for the food they couldn't refund the tickets as they were to busy with the new avengers movie if you cant handle a big release and cater to other movie goers dont host such a big movie then out money will stick to local theaters from now on

Had a great experience watching the comedy/drama The Upside in theater #1. Was lucky to grab last two seats next to each other near the center of the viewing area. Full house. Great sound and picture. Full on stadium seating. Seats plush and comfortable with a small range of spring in the backrest. Only beef is they are a little small and you have to share the tiny 2-1/2" or so plastic armrest(like that's possible). Still I was comfortable enough through the two hour movie. Also bathroom and theater nice and clean.

The line for Downton Abbey didnt move for over 8 minutes 4 elderly ladies at counter with the only person to help 2 other ladies at computer screens obviously not sure how to figure out. Again no employees at theatre to assist or explain to people in line anything that was going on. For the amount of money they charge they can afford to have some hel . By the time this group got in to theatre all lights were out and it was a bit dangerous finding ones way in the dark. I won't be back.

Spent 30...THIRTY minutes standing on line for snacks while the inept children running the counter struggled to do their job. Mind you I wasn't 20 people deep into this other l line...I was second in line. I stood there with my 8 year old while our movie started just to get 2 drinks.

We drive out of our way to go here. The IMAX theater is the greatest. We save a lot of money with our AMC stubs card membership and online deals with Fandango. Today's movie prices are high and concession stands have to mark up everything in order to survive. I get it. However; we are a household with limited means and a disabled person so we look for bargains when ever we can. AMC offers them and the Rockaway location is the place to redeem them.

Loved, loved, LOVED the seats in the Dolby theater. Didn't quite recline back as far as I would've liked, but they were comfortable as he**! Also liked that the seats were actually built on individual tiers, not just set on the floor, following the incline to the back of the room. Would **definitely** recommend Theater 9, anytime!

Manager was incredibly rude and nearly 4" 10! He was foaming at the mouth when I went for my third popcorn refill and demanded I pay despite the unlimited refills. I stayed strong and called the police on him. Now I'm the manager. I've never had a more motivated staff before in my life, so I'm going to have to give this job five stars but the place (prior to my hiring) one.

This theater is enormous and has plenty of room in each individual theater. The seats are a great size, and the stadium seating means you do not need to worry about the person in front of you blocking your view of the screens. The concessions are not cheap, but the popcorn is at least hot. And the serve yourself “butter” is definitely a nice (if not a bit unhealthy) treat. I am taking a star off because I have seen that the bathrooms are generally a bit on the dirty side, but that could perhaps be a function of an entire theaters worth of people going in at once as a showing ends.

I like this theater, but what's going on with the bathrooms? The sinks look like they're rimmed with mold. The faucets are caked with mineral deposits or calcium deposits. It all looks so unsanitary and just gross. Who wants to wash their hands in sinks that look filthy. You feel like you're gonna catch something just by going near them! And where's the soap? Only 2 of the 8 sinks had soap!

The theater has lots of theaters, but the seats are still cramped. I prefer the AMC in East Hanover. Overall it was a typical theater with pricey tickets and concessions.

Your typical AMC movie theater. The ticket price was good but the cheapest thing on the menu was pretzel bites for seven bucks popcorn was $9 per small. That's more than an average appetizer at a fancy restaurant for popcorn. At any rate I'm old but that's still ridiculous

Yes, the bathrooms are a mess and smell of what a public bathroom usually smell like but I had my first date here and had a great time. The Dolby Lobbies are the best, you can even hide ya beans under your eyelids and nobody would bat an eye. I brought a whole muffler in last night and had to trouble with the staff, in fact they asked me what its name was, and I said Michael even though I don't really know anyone named Michael. That mufflers is now on my ceiling hanging like a branch of mistletoe, instead of a kiss you get a small ziploc filled with.. you guessed it, pinto beans.

This is the best theater in the area. Clean and the only place with Dolby only reason I give it 4 starts is the seating. The Dolby theater is the only 1 with recliners. Even the IMAX has the old red cloth seats. The place is always packed time to start reinvesting those earnings

I don''t know why people are saying this theater is clean. It's floors are sticky and the seats are stained. Also I find the standard theater seats to be very uncomfortable at 5'4" 125 pounds, the neck rest hits so that my head is craned forward and there's no way to lean back, I wind up sitting caddy corner in the seat. My back is literally curved, no lumbar support, bad posture through the whole movie. Outrageous snack prices as usual, bring your own. Good sound, good size screens.

Customers can reserve seating prior to the movie by using the AMC app. As of summer 2019, you can also use the AMC app to pre-order your food/snacks and drinks cups. You just use your reservation # to pick up your food when you arrive. Always clean.

This place was really great when it was newer. I haven't been in awhile and went on a Saturday evening, which I'd assume is prime movie night. The place looked a mess and seemed very understaffed. The bathrooms were plain disgusting. The smell if urine was strong and most of the toilets were gross and clogged; 3 sinks didn't have soap. This theater gets 2 stars simply because they have a cool Dolby theater, but that's the only perk. I'm likely not coming back as there are plenty other theaters not very far.

They make you pick your seats on a screen before entering which is absolutely ridiculous, it should be first come first serve. Why fix something that's not broken, now groups cant sit together, entire rows are moving because people are a holes. It's the stupidest idea, I could see you picking seating for a nice theater but a regular theater NO WAY. I will not be coming back here, and I've come here since I was a kid. This really pisses me off.

AMC is amazing! I have been coming here since it first opened and it continues to improve with adding new cinemas (like Dolby). Best movie theater around, only complaint is they need to be more attentive to the restrooms. They smell like piss that has been sitting uncleaned for weeks. Aside from that they would have received 5 stars.

me and my boyfriend to go to this movie theater all the time and it has the best movies and it has really nice seats that you can get and even though the service that sometimes can be a little bit wonky everything's okay and they even have an arcade so after the movie if you're waiting to be picked up or you just want to go to the arcade they have that. They have a nice air hockey machine and claw machines that are fairly easy to win especially because it's playing to you win. I love winning from the vending machines that are there. honestly the AMC in Rockaway is really nice and really great and I love going to see movies there especially cuz it's so close.

Nicest theater that I've been to in New Jersey... although I don't go to the movies that often. Went there to see 'It' last week... Was a bit cleaner a couple of years ago I've noticed. Unbelievable selection at snack bar.... but can't even buy a small drink for under 7 bucks... pretty ridiculous.

Forty minutes to buy tickets. NEVER forget to use the app or to bring your mobile to use the app while you're in that line. Lol However another 52 minutes in the snack line because they cater to people who pay for the fast checkout upgrade to their stubs club first before the regular patrons. Even the amusement parks balance the fast pass lines with the normal ones. If you're not giving them all of your money in admission and stubs fees they don't care about your food money or getting you into the theater on time. Be there 2.5 hours early if you want to be sure you can sit before the show starts.

If you're not a member, do NOT come here on a Tuesday. I paid more to see a movie and concessions than AMC members and was treated poorly. 3 stars because the seats were comfortable. Torrents are looking better all the time.

we walked into the theatre all was going well and we had no problems at all and when we went into our movie we were quiet and respectful. we sat down did nothing maybe a few laughs here and there but this was before the movie had even started we were just kids being kids having fun. before the movie has started this guy had walked out and told the security that we were being too loud. he made the assumption that we would be disrespectful before the movie has even started. we sat down we were quiet and a joke in the movie came up and we laughed, i guess to loud and too long for the grump man next to us. we sat there and we knew that they were going to be called out. a man came in and disrespectfully asked us all to leave. he rudely told us no refunds and no getting back in and that he’s going to walk us out to the lobby which felt like more like forcing us out, pushing us out. us five kids who didn’t do anything but try to watch a movie got kicked out after paying for our food, drinks, tickets and everything. AMC you suck with service today and just because some grump old man got mad at us for being a little too loud for you doesn’t mean you should just kick us out, you take away my first amendment right of my freedom of speech and i would like my money back.

Very nice, clean, and decent priced theater. Staff is friendly and lines usually move quick. Variety of ways to watch and their IMAX theaters are very nice.

This place was awesome when it had opened and the years after. I’m not sure what happened but this place is definitely going on a decline. Like as if they don’t care at all anymore. The bathrooms are gross and unattended. There’s no clean up crews to clean after movies end so that incoming patrons come into clean seats and floors. I came to see the new Aladdin movie opening day in IMAX and there was garbage everywhere, in the seats, on the floor, everywhere. Not worth it anymore. I recommend going somewhere else.

Not a good place. Usher took back the 3D glasses we picked up on the way in and told us you don't need them for a 3D movie. They didn't tell us what theater the movie was in when we asked. We had to find it on our own. Recommend going anywhere but here.

I absolutely love this movie theater. It has phenomenal facilities and really, really good popcorn. I go here because of its convenient location and will continue to do so for that very reason. It also has very cheap prices.

Love the movies my son treats me to a movie once to get me out of the house I'm a senior citizen and have mobility issues. AMC is equipped for handicapped people mobility scooters wheelchairs andbut I feel they could keep their handicap stalls in their theaters at their bathrooms a little cleaner.they provide lots of room in the front of the theater for their handicap seats and lots of room in between them for me to pull my mobility scooter into very comfortable. They were also added lots of new things to their food menu although their prices on their menu are way too high.maybe you could have had a few budget items or specials for the poor people

The AMC Rockaway is a modern, clean, and spacious theater. Most if not all of the seats are power recliners. They make for a great movie experience. The food area is very diverse, and wide open. You don't feel squeezed while in line. It's a great place to see a movie!

The stadium seating is the best. Went to Advengers last night. I never buy food or use the bathrooms. But the cleaning crew never cleaned the theatre before the movie started. The seats are getting old, you can see the dirt and stains on every seat. They need to upgrade the place, it's starting to get old.
