We visited the theater for the very first time last weekend. And unfortunately I have to say that I have never seen such a dirty theater. That food is terrible and inedible. Salted popcorn? Who eats that? The pretzel pieces with the cheese sauce tasted more like chemistry than anything else. The seats are disgusting. For some, I felt that some seats were broken. All around it was sticky and dirty. And the air conditioning was set too high We will definitely not come back.

It is a nice place. There is no typical counter for in-person to person ticket option, rather, desktop apps are installed to purchase tickets. One should have both online purchase to avoid a queue to buy ticket at the place. An online account also offers a few specials. They do not have recliner seats for most international movies. Addition of such seating arrangement may make viewers experience more enjoyable.

I have visited different AMC this one the worst. They did not have my food order ready when I got there... because they did not get it, but still charged me for it. The seat are not adjustable, and they are made out of a scratchy material (what is an AMC without nice spacious reclinable seats? ), and they do not seem to have the inside the theater food service either, neither the bar! The restrooms where dirty and a lot of them out of service, in the women section. The price is like in any other AMC; they need to update this whole place. What is the point of paying so much for getting the same thing that any other cheap theater will offer you?

Just changed my rating from 5 to 1 star. 2 days agao I visited this place while the lights were still on inside the theater. You would be surprised to see the condition of the seats. Half hour into the movie my back felt itchy. Last night my sister and my sister in law went here and they complained about their legs being itchy. My sister couldn't stop scratching her legs. I think they have a serious problem with bedbugs or something. Please take caution going here. I will definitely look for other theaters near by. Cannot risk going here again.

This place has seen better days. I remember it being much better in the nineties. It was a Lowes then. Now, there are moths flying around, the seats are disgusting the place is unclean. The professionalism at this AMC is dismal. The young heavy woman who checks tickets was so busy talking on the phone that she directed me to the wrong auditorium. She did not have time to even greet me.

I attended the 10:30 showing of Captain Marvel. The theater was clean and the mozzarella sticks were great. There was barely a wait for concessions and the manager Ryan who ripped our tickets was really nice as well.

This theatre is absolute trash ! My neck is stiff from watching It 2 with my head straight up for 2 hours and 30 minutes because I didn’t want my head to touch the filthy seats. I put napkins on the sticky dirty arm rests. I immediately put my clothes in the washing machine as soon as I got home this place should be checked for bed bugs and rodents. Upgraded kiosks to have no cashiers when they desperately need new seats.

Needs some major updating to.compete with other theaters. Cloth seats that just seem grody and only slightly recline and there's a mildewy kind of odor to the whole place that just screams "I need a deep clean or carpet replacement at least."

The seats in this theater are DISGUSTING. I couldn’t even bring myself to sit down. Straight up offensive and definitely some sort of health hazard. Insane considering there are so many really nice theaters so close? Never again.

I like that they still offer a matinee. The facility is clean. Prices for snacks are on the high side but I can't stop from buying the popcorn when I smellllllll it. They have kiosks available for ticket purchases and pickup so you don't have to stand in line. They also have a small arcade / game area to keep you occupied while you wait. In my case, I get whining kids asking why they can't play on them while watching the movies. I tend to come here for the matinee time on Sundays. No crowds and we get to offset the food costs with the cheap ticket prices.

We did not reserve seats because we figured we dont always need to be spoiled with recliners. I'll never make that mistake at this theater again. The recliner seats are awesome but the regular chairs are completely awful. I left with back pain and was surprised we didnt get bedbugs.

The new Dolby Theatre is your best option to watch Summer blockbusters. The IMAX screen is bit old and a LOT of the seats are broken and tilt too far back, but the sound and screen are good. The IMAX theater needs a serious seating overhaul!!. The food choices are so-so and do not offer many of the options advertised on the AMC website.

The movie we saw I give a 5 star and the bathrooms and concession stand and customer service 5 star. The reason for the 1 star is the seats in the theatre some were broken very comfortable and dirty dirty dirty. A gentleman behind switched seats with his children because and I quote:"it looks like some one died in this chair ..." I couldn't agree with him more I was afraid to actually put my head on the seat afraid of what I might pick up. Its time for a make over in theatre 16!!!

Terrible seats. You can often times hear the movie going on in the cinema next to you during your movie. People are always yalking in the theaters. They are tremendously understaffed. The good part is if bvb you go early in the afternoon, especially on a week day the theater is dead

Updating my post from last time. They've done some upgrading since I last posted, especially by adding a Dolby Cinema, which quite frankly is the best way to see a movie. Their parking lot is still a message, but now it seems it's because they are building apartments right next to it. Still best theater in the immediate area, but does need work. I'd give it 3.5 if I could instead of 4, but deserves more than 3 stars.

Terrible theater; just watched Endgame here and they didn't even turn on the AC after the first 10 minutes (hot outside too). I also believe this theater may have had bedbugs in it. Would give it a zero star if possible.

While the theater has nice Imax screens and a good crowd, the seats are among the worst I've ever sat in. These mushy, squeaky, tight seats can be extremely uncomfortable. Imagine finding an old office chair in a landfill, and squishing it with an elephant. Put about 400 of these in one room, and you have this AMC theater. Once you're seated, forget getting up. Like a 15 person airplane row shimmy to the bathroom, it's better to hold it till the end of the movie.

No reserve seating. Don't get the pizza. With a large drink it is $16. I kid you not, but the pizza tastes horrible, like it has detergent in it. One slice and my tummy hurt like hell...and I practically have a teflon stomach. Don't. Get. The. Pizza. <-- PSA

Overall theater is nice. Roomy and pleasant. Went to the IMAX theater to see Godzilla. Floor sticky and the regular seats were filthy. I thought the IMAX had thr recliner seats, but no. Big disappointment.

Seats are dirty and have a funky smell. Floor looks like it hasn't been cleaned in ages. Every other AMC in the area is nicely renovated except this one. Only good thing is they have a Dolby Theatre. If you can avoid this AMC I would you to Menlo Park or East Brunswick. Both are much cleaner and have recliners.

Standard movie theater. For the best price, plan on seeing your movie on Tuesday. And expect to pay more for Atmos sound and 3d or IMAX.

If this is not the only theater to play Hindi movies of my choice i would never go there :| By comparison to other movie halls this place needs upgrade. Very uncomfortable old style chairs and alright sound system. Nothing much to add.

This was by far the worst movie theater I've been to. Normally at an AMC theater you can expect nice CLEAN seats that can recline but, no what we got was disgusting dirty probably mold infested seats. The entire movie theater or at least the part where we were spelled disgusting and made it feel like a public bathroom. Also the popcorn stand runs at limited hours and closes a full 2 hour before all the guests leave, so if you want to refill your popcorn at a show at around 9pm or above sorry your out of luck. On top of that the popcorn itself is stale and tastes like microwave popcorn. The drinks are also disgusting and are probably expired. Lastly we came for a show at 10pm and what happened to us was that the cleaning crew (who were trying to impress audience members with mad rapping) arrived at 10:05 and the previews started at 10:18. The movie itself began at 10:34. The only good thing about this place is the movie itself and even that is bad, because normally at an AMC movie theater you can expect surround sound but, this movie theater's audio wasn't surround sound it was just loud like a beats pod at best. On top of literally all of this everything was so over priced for the quality of what we were receiving. With all of this it is just better to wait for the movie to come on Netflix and watch it at home. We love going to AMCs this place does not deserve the title AMC

It's a theater, it's clean, it has movies, yada yada yada. While you're there, don't forget to check out the gravesite in the back lot of the theater. It's the grave of Mary Ellis, a woman colonial New Brunswick whose lifestory inspired the Looking Glass 1972 song "Brandy. (You're a Fine Girl)" Ellis was betrothed to marry a sea captain, and every evening she would come to the site of what is now the AMC parking lot and wait for her true love to sail home up the Raritan River. This is the most interesting thing about the theater. I mean, seriously: a woman buried in the parking lot? That's unique.

Floors, countertops at the concession, bathrooms and theatres looked like they hadn't been cleaned since the night before. I wouldn't reccomend this theater to anyone. Go to regal Hadley center much cleaner and new reclining seats.

This theatre movie price is more than fair in the morning. Be advise, if you're planning to order popcorn combo and take it home after refill, DO NOT order gormnet popcorn since it's dosent accept refills. Only combo number 1 accepts it.

I love that several theaters have twice as many seats as some more local theaters to me. Also some don’t have assigned seating yet which I like to take advantage of. Only reason I’m taking a star away is because their chairs need to be either cleaned more or replaced because they’re terribly dirty.

The seats are mad dirty. There wasnt garbage on the floor but there were obvious stains on most of all the seats and our movie started about 10 minutes late only after someone else went to go tell the crew to turn on the movie... The only good thing was the loudness of the movie which consumed my attention most of the time.

It's cheaper than the AMC at Menlo, but the outdated tiered stadium seats are in a dire need of a refresh. Decades of spilled soda, popcorn grease, and other miscellaneous liquids and smells aren't the only reason: the seats are configured so that it's very easy for someone to accidentally kick you from behind. The angle of the seats in the back also allow you to see the social media feed of the person sitting in front of you. Yes, the floors are somehow perpetually sticky, and getting in and out of the parking lot is one of the most common reasons for auto collisions on Rt. 18, but this is one of the few standalone movie theaters left in the area. I just wish there were assigned seating.

The Dolby Theater is just mind blowing. It's like being on a ride at Disney. Forget the IMAX hype...Dolby theater blew it away in all aspects. Audio, video, and the recliner seats. Amazing!

I am a big fan of AMC theaters and a A-list member. But this AMC is not good. Worst sound system. I would like to close my ears. My home has better sound system than this. Seating is also not good if compare with other amc's. There are no couple seats. Needs to be upgraded

This place is a dump, tired on the inside and is showing it's age horribly. The staff although mildly helpful seem as if this place has sucked their souls from them, you can see it in their dead eyes. I went to see Alita: Battle Angel there on it's early preview showing and the power went out mid movie. It took them 15 minutes to get the movie back on while playing just the audio and no picture while spoiling the movie at the same time. I got a refund and went home, really you can do better than this.

Location kind of stinks as it is located off a divide US route so if you miss the turn in our come from the other direction you got at least 3-5 miles of driving to make it back. Bathrooms are not set up to encourage washing your hands as the toilets in men's and women's are at the entry and the sinks are behind an arbitrary wall. The

This location is definitely the most rundown of the AMC theaters in the area. The seats are old and stained, the floor is always sticky, the location is not very convenient for most people. But, this location normally runs a couple movies that other theaters in the area do not run and you can normally get tickets to the movies you want to see.

You can get the cheapest matinee show tickets here which are under $6 for adults and kids. They have some magna shows that go as late as 11:45 a.m. on weekdays and weekends. The theater itself is not one of the updated AMC experiences. There are no bucket seats or full reclining seats here. The seats are old and clot based but they are very comfortable and for the price you pay or the money you save the sound and video are perfectly fine like any other updated movie hall.

As a Premiere Stubs Member, NOT an A Lister, who's been going to your movie houses from the days of Loews, and been to this theater so many times, when the seats were actually clean, unstained, theater was clean too, it baffles me as to why only one upgraded theater, theater 18, aka the ONLY THEATER I will watch a movie at!!! Would love to hear upper managements views on this, and when is a full upgrade, redo coming!!! I go to UA theaters a lot, and if I'm picking a theater in new Brunswick, first choice is the dolby theater in your establishment, then, for all other movies, it's UA, NOT AMC 13, in the mall, where the leather seats are awaiting reupholstering.

Great theater with a very good viewing experience. Their IMAX cinema is the go-to for my movies. Saw Avengers Infinity War opening weekend in IMAX, and the sound was immaculate as well as the picture. The only issue I have with the theater is its lack of newer/better seating. They still have basic cloth seats with the metal stands. Would greatly benefit from the new AMC recliners most of the other theaters have.

It's a great theater to see your favorite movies, only thing I notice which usually doesn't happen on any other day is inadequate staff on Tuesday (Tuesday movies are almost half price) as a result there is long line at concession and garbage bin overflowing. AMC please take care of your patrons on Tuesday the same way as you do on any other day.

The Brunswick AMC theater is a lovely place to enjoy your movies. It has a nice and caring staff that also helps you out if you need help. The staff will also have no problem showing you around the AMC theaters if you are new and need assistance. They will help you get to your designated numbered theater and will help you with all the toppings you can get on top of your popcorn. They will help you show how to use the butter machine which basically helps you to all more butter to your popcorn.

The theater is disgusting. The seats needed upgrade, nobody is cleaning it after each shows, the bathroom is dirty too. Most of the stall out of service, toilet paper are out. Sink and faucet are not working.

Until recently it was the nearest Lowe's with a IMAX theater for your viewing and listening pleasure. I have gone here for years and even have done the all day Marvel Marathon leading up to the premier of the original Avengers movie. It was the first place I also sat to see a movie in the new Dolby Cinema at AMC theater which was spectacular.

Large theatre with the most movie selection in the area. Dolby Digital and IMAX theatre but no dine in. New Starbucks built nearby and currently building new rental units right next door. If you like movies I’d suggest subscribing to A-List and move to these new apartment complexes. It’ll be walking distance to the movie theatre!

The theater has good viewing options and exclusive movie contents (movies from other coutries). However, the seats are a little bit annoying. They are bouncy. So the seats can hit your knees if people in front of you sit down without cautions. Hopefully, in the future, it will get improved.

One of my most favorite movie theaters in NJ!! I frequent this place a lot but I mean the only thing I have to say is some of the seats should really be replaced and some new staff should be hired to keep continual cleaning. It's a shame because this theater is really pretty in the inside and it ACTUALLY makes you feel like you're going to go and have a good cinematic experience. Hope some renovations happen over time because this is a really good theater and should be maintained as such!

I’ve been living in East Brunswick most of my life, I remember when this place used to be a Mega Movies. I’ll never forget walking to the movies with the losers I used to hang out with. I love the seats at AMC now, everything is just very expensive. Date for two can turn into a $75 night (without dinner).

I grew up coming to this theatre so it always had a special place in my heart. For over 10 years the large sign out front was broken it used to display all the movies. The theater itself is is complete disarray. Everything is disgusting and sticky. Walking into the theater was completely dirty from the previous viewing. The seats are disgusting. I was just so disappointed with how downhill this place went. I hadn’t come to this theater in years because of all the other ones surrounding with beautiful comfortable seats and clean bathrooms and lobbies. I came thinking that it was fully renovated however it is not. But I guess if people will keep going then why change anything. I was just disappointed in a theater that I truly loved for so many years it was pure trash now. Never returning :( staff needs to learn to clean as well. I know it’s not the best job in the world but it’s still a job

This theater needs a major overhaul. Concession stand looked as if it had been put together and tebuilt several times by kids. Seats in theater were very uncomfortable. Had to constantly move in seat to keep legs from going to sleep.

Ticket booking with seat selection is really good news. Ordered curly fries and waffle sandwiche. They came out really well. But Theater is not clean, When we walked in, we can spot empty popcorn bins from previous show. You can spot mosquitoes.

Been going there for years. Lots of theaters with lots of movies to select from. Little trivia, there's a raised grave yard in the back. Story is it's about a wife waiting for her sailor husband to return home and it's the inspiration for a song. Do some research.

Theater 1- pretty gross. Old fashioned flip down seats full of stains and broken arm rests and broken cup holders. Looks like it hasn’t been swept in weeks. Used the flashlight on our phone to see if we dropped anything before leaving... that was a mistake. Had we did we would have abandoned it.

Theatre Needs Updates and Renovations. The best theatre is the updated Dolby cinema. Other than that the place is dated and overpriced. Service is generally good. Lots of young adults hang out at this theatre so be prepared for a very noisy night.

A little dated but a servicable cinema none the less! Also gets bonus points for showing international films owing to it's proximity to a large indian hub. Not sure how crowded it gets as it was snowing tonight, but having an entire room to myself was a new experience!

I've been coming to this theatre since I was a kid. I remember it being a lot nicer/cleaner then. Pros: electronic ticket booth, decent food/snacks, nice staff Cons: the movie theatres could be cleaner - a lot of the time there's still popcorn on the floor / the floors are sticky. The seats are outdated and could be more comfortable.

I love going to this theater over at New Brunswick.it looks pretty decent. The employees are often nice.I wish they upgraded their chairs to make them more comfortable. Beside that, it's a great place to go watch a movie with family and friends. The IMAX is cool with great surroundings sound. It takes you straight into the movie.

This theatre is so disgusting. The seats are NOT recliners like it says online. They are so old and dirty with a ton of stains. Looks like they’ve never been cleaned a day. Popcorn is bad too. The seats are uncomfortable and honestly so gross we didn’t even want to lay our heads on the seat. Never returning to this theatre. It should renovate or close down.

I was happy with the help from the friendly manager here in joining the Stubs A*List membership, thanks so much for her patience and great guest services. Great enjoyment of many movies in AMC recently especially the IMAX and the Dolby format with recliner seat. Besides, it’s so easy making a free reservation online with no extra fee. The app provides a tracker of points and rewards too. The membership gives me an absolute satisfaction in watching 3 movies every week, anytime and pick any AMC theaters I would like to go for it conveniently.

I don't know what to say. The tickets are definitely cheaper here than in regal. You get snacks, but there aren't any recliners here. It's very spacious and has over 15 screens.

It gets one star beacuse the staff is actually nice. This place is dirty, smelly and gross. The moment you walk into the movie theater you will smell a kind of old smell, the floors are sticky because they are so dirty, and one you walk into the theater, the smell gets only worse, it smells like an old couch in there, the couch your grandmother used too many decades ago and refuses to throw it away. The smell will stick to your clothes and hair. For the same amount of money and maybe going somewhere a little further, you can get a better experience.

I am stubs member and watch movies pretty regularly. It was a welcome change to notice AMC Brunswick offering reserved seating. Something I had been longing for so long. I mean why in the world would I go a few hours early to grab my favourite seat if I have purchased the tickets already. Didn't make much sense but I am glad it's there now.

Very cost effective and Indian movie screening AMC in NJ. No issue in the parking, screen, food. Only issue is the seats. They have to renewate the seatings of all the auditoriums except Dolby. I suggest at least IMAX seats. You have to be careful if someone sits in front of your seat. Their seat may hit your knees directly. There is no gap in the seats row. Apart from that, everything is nice.

I went to watch abominable and joker movie this week in amc Dolby cinema for some reason both the movies were displayed on 3/4 of the screen leaving other space not projected, felt like watching movie in small screen though it’s very a big screen , as a movie fan came to experience a bestpart but totally ruined experience and by charging around 17 dollars not at all worth it. Dear AMC please use full protection nowonwards.

It was nice! Food is pretty expensive though ( as it is with all movie theatres). Seats do not recline like some of their other branches, but they tend to have available seats for new movies coming out and i like that. Not usually crowded. However, a few of the seat handles were broken in the row we were in. Did not appreciate it. Even got a little scraped cut on my hand from the broken plastic. Nothing serious.

Movie was out of focus. Left the theater twice to complain. Was told it was a known issue. Then why are you still using it? Waited over 10 minutes for pretzel bites.

It's decent. Giving 4 stars since they host most of the good Hollywood and Bollywood movies. Giving 1 star less since it hasn't got the best seating in the area. AMC Menlopark / Regal North Brunswick is better in terms of seating. However, I would definitely go back to this AMC.

I've always liked this AMC! The staff is friendly and the food is done quickly. I like the classic movie-theater feel that this AMC has. However, some of the facades need refreshing, and it would be cool if this one had a few theaters set aside for the awesome dine-in experiences too.

This theatre sucks. The seating isn’t comfortable at all. Aside from that, I had the bad luck with watching movies there. The power and/or equipment broke down twice in a year(out of my three visits). This cinema needs to do better job in renovation and maintenance. This really destroys the reputation of AMC brand.

The nastiest AMC theatre ever. We went to watch Aladdin recently and only made us 35 mins into it and left. Luckily we have the AMC A-Lister so we were able to watch it a few days later at a different location when we got back home to VA. Unfortunately this would be the last time we go there. There were flies flying around, the seats were disgusting as well, stains all over them.

I went to see a movie yesterday, sound was good however the theatre was very dirty, my seat had stains, had a weird smell, toilets were so dirty. I'm attaching a picture of my seat. I'm not going there again. Giving 2 stars as the screen was big and sound was good.
