Terrible theater. Bought a ticket for a 10 am movie on a Wednesday. Showed up and theater is closed. Turns out the theater doesn't open until 12 pm. Who sells tickets for a movie for a time the theater isn't even open? Call customer service no help, emailed waist of time. Not to mention they never clean the theater at all. Is totally disgusting. I hardly go there, but now I'm never going back. Spend my money elsewhere.

AMC Garden State is an okay experience, but the place can get a bit crowded on premieres. If you don’t like the crowd, I suggest to go on a weekday, in the morning, and a week or two after the movie is released. The food at Garden State isn’t so bad, but I feel like they didn’t care enough on your food, and just wanted to get your order over with. The seats and theaters aren’t bad, but I’ve seen better theaters.

Management clearly doesn’t read these reviews. The IMAX is very dirty!!!! Nasty honestly. The movie was supposed to start at 10:45 pm. It’s 11:03 and it hasn’t started yet and doesn’t look like it will anytime soon.

When this theater first opened it was great to come to watch a flick and eat a little meal as well as affordable. Now this place has gotten over the top expensive, and has not done any good upgrades and if you want a recliner seat you have to pay upwards of $50 and up to watch a movie. Cleanliness is horrendous, management is as well as the employees that are there. This is the first time I've come here in a while and it is surely the LAST time ever. Kerasotes is where I'll be spending my dollars and actually will enjoy a decent flick, meal, and clean customer service oriented experience. AMC shame on you!

Seats were nice, but picture quality looked like they downloaded the movie on BitTorrent. Shame as before the movie it made a big deal about how advanced their projection system was, but it turns out if the movie is a little dark it turns negative and pixelates badly. Given the price you'd expect more.

Happy time added at AMC while staying in Garden State Plaza... After watching movie, go to Susie Bar owned by Chinese at the space of eating inside the mall. Nice susie at reasonable price, Koreans may like and enjoy it. WOW !!!!!

I love this place I haven't had the best experience in movie theaters most of them suck or have bad cleaning in some way but here it's. Whole new level. It has great movies very popular and old ones and I love the historical wall that are being portraied on the walls. It shows the most classic things you can say from the 80s and even more before. Thank s place is amazing it's always clean and has great amount of seating. And the food and drink are wonderful. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone else who loves movies like me.

What can I say, it's a movie theater - not great but not bad either. In comparison to other movie theaters however, its surprising that they haven't invested in reclining chairs like the AMC at Palisades Mall. It adds so much value. I also wish they would actually enforce people not being on their phone during movies. I had about 4 people sitting a few rows ahead who were texting every few minutes on what looked like a screen turned up to full brightness and it just ruins the movie for me.

This theater has really gone downhill. No one comes in to check during the movie, people are obnoxiously loud throughout the whole movie. People were kicking seats moving around, guy in front of us was smoking. Half the ppl in the rated R movie were definitely under age. Horrible experience not coming back, will go to other AMCs thanks.

Like this theater a lot and they have great perks specially Tuesdays. I have to say the employees at the food and snacks I felt like they didn't wanted to be working there and they were a bit rude. For the reason I gave it a 5 is because I cannot give it a 4.5 and I don't feel like giving it a 4 stat rating because they are better than that. Recommend to all my friends.

It’s very disappointing how poorly prepared, or lack of preparation, this AMC location is. During big screen events you’d think they would use their brains and have food prepared for the showing but that’s never the case. Hot dogs are never available ! I like amc but this location falls behind the rest.

Nice screens but honestly the place was a mess. The seats were not clean and the floors were not even swept. There was also noone at the registers to sell us tickets. Also my friend Doug tried to kiss me once while watching toy story 3. Lastly, there is about 30 minutes of previews before the actual movie starts.

It's an AMC app generally good, but 2 issues. They seem to be understaffed. As the ticket taker was also the one doing ticket kiosk support. And their projectionist needs to pay attention to the alignment. The image was a little low. Most of the time that wouldn't matter, but there were subtitles at the beginning of the movie for a few jokes with French speaking characters and they were cut off.

Place is tidy, quiet in the theaters, great chairs, well maintained, good temperature control all year (no need for emergency sweaters in the summer). Its everything a theater should be. But it gets four stars because of a few reasons. 1. Screw the weekends. It feels like the movie 300 fighting your way through the crowds. Yet any time during the weekday its somehow dead. 2. Take out a bank loan if you're going to the snack bar. $18 for a popcorn I think it was the last time I went. Forgot. Expensive though. 3. On rare occasions the lights come on a solid ten minutes before the movie even hits the credits But beyond that it's a good theater. Just make it a day trip. Not a weekend or evening trip.

Huge theater, Dolby Digital is a must see, one of a kind experience. Only one Dolby theater, but absolutely a step above the standard movie experience. Food Court in the mall is convenient if you're not in to Popcorn and Candy. Everything is clean and comfortable. Concession lines back up on busy evenings so leave a little extra time for grabbing snacks. Would recommend, personally frequented often.

The movie theater was clean enough but I was a bit disappointed with the seats. They haven't been updated like in the AMC at Riverside just close by. The prices are about the same so if you do want to watch a movie, I would recommend the other AMC at Riverside rather than this one. Popcorn and drinks are just like at any other AMC with their taste and prices so nothing out of the ordinary there. Overall, I had a good experience but won't be coming back.

This theater is pretty nice and it's definitely appreciated that they offer reserve seating now even if it's still the regular style. I don't know what it is but the concessions lines here are always terribly slow even when it's not that busy and that's my only real complaint.

Bad experience from the word "go" . Bought tickets online from AMC website and had to pay an $11 convenience fee for 6 tickets. That was 13.75% markup on the $80 purchase price. The reason we went to the movies was to escape from the hot weather outside only to find the theather temp very warm and uncomfortable. Lastly, at the end of the movie we went to deposit our trash in the receptcals to find them overflowing. Just a bad experience but the movie was good.

Staff is great! In fact the staff were amazing and helpful! But when I had to change my daughters pamper. There were no changing tables in any of the men changing rooms. Family room first floor was locked. I had to go to a second floor. When I got to the family room the changing table was broken so I had to hold the table, a baby, then everything else. Nightmare. I was gone so long I found my other kid crying his eyes out in the halls. He is old enough but I took so long. Something that usually takes 3-5 mins took 20mins maybe even longer. I wouldn’t recommend bringing a family if your a single parent.

The place is convenient for me and guests, the only downfall is that the concession stands are always a mess and the workers that clean the floor seem to just stand around. Half the time I order the "Soft" Pretzel Bites and they're hard as a rock not to mention the low staff count at the registers when they're at their peak and barley anyone in the back cooking.

I saw nabbed some prerelease tickets for Godzilla: King of The Monsters for this AMC. The iMax theater was a nice screen with good sound and picture. Staff was organized and helpful throughout the process. I especially love the entrance- like everything about it.

Really nice and awesome movie theater it’s so amazing and when you come here to watch a movie you have to watch the movie with Doby it’s really awesome the quality and the sound is really incredible and the there’s recliners which are extremely comfortable but the only downside is the prices are extremely expensive but other then that it’s awesome movie theater! I would totally watching Aladdin!

Long lines for the premiere stubs members at the concession stand, rude and inattentive cashiers AND careless workers moving wooden pallets. The cashier forgot 1 or 3 items and the cashier next door was giving his customer an attitude. I also got my back scratched up and my shirt torn because a worker passed by with a wooden pallet with a LONG rusted nail sticking out of it. It scratched my shoulder and snagged my shirt. He took a whole 4 to 5 steps before he stopped because I was yelling at him. He gave a curt “sorry” and walked off. Bathrooms had almost no toilet paper. There were a total of 8-10 stalls and only 4 had toilet paper. The sinks were broken and only some stations had handsoap. If there’s no handsoap, how are your employees washing their hands before they return to their stations?

The AMC just installed an online/cellular system for reservations (4/2019). I arrived not knowing it was installed and received horrible seating. I guess this is required, but you still have to stand on line to print a ticket for your seating. Sucks. Great place to view a movie/movies. There is parking for your car and a great shopping mall. I see movies here often. Easy, no hassle. Sound is good (not the best for Star Wars types). Always sit center to hear the full effect of the sound system. If you sit off center in the Dolby theater, with children, it is horrible. Not healthy for their and your ears (LOUDE as HELL). Color fidelity and sharpness is good compared to others, but they have 16 or so theaters. I don't know the number but it's a lot. So because of this I will give the 5 stars rating. If you want food, and a bar, go elsewhere $.

The women’s restrooms have been quite awful the last three times we went there, including today at around 4:20 pm. Several of the toilets were filled with paper, some stalls had no toilet paper in them at all, others had debris all over the floor. Customer service to purchase our tickets was a big surprise to us all today as well. We were directed by AMC staffers on how to use one of several automated kiosk devices (placed directly in front of the individual stations where we used to buy tickets from actual human beings) to purchase and print out our own movie tickets. Not a great experience for us today at the beginning or end of this visit to AMC Paramus.

Parking is a breeze. The inside is large and spacious, and that even before you get into the theater. Once inside the seats are comfortable and roomy. They do not recline but I don't see that as a bad point. I find that there is able leg room to get thru without tripping over the guests.

Purchased tickets 30 minutes early for a show not knowing if the theater would be packed. It wasn't. The ticket taker would not let me buy a soda or sit on the provided bench's in the hall way or use the restroom. I was told I needed to stand in the ticket area for 30 minutes and use the mall's restroom. REFUND and left. Wont be back.

Really nice movie theater that always has a ton of selections because it has 16 screens. The imax is nice, but don’t sit too far back because the speakers and super loud. The seats are comfortable but not all of them have full reclining so be careful when you buy your ticket!! All in all I think Hackensack has a nicer theatre but this one has better selection of movies.

The new corporate guidelines make it difficult to see multiple movies. I buy 3 tickets but they don't put the correct movies or times on the marqués. Popcorn everywhere. Regular seats are sticky and greasy at the same time. Yuck. I used to go 2 to 3 times a mth. I haven't been there in 8.

Filthy with a rodent problem! I come to this theater quite a bit. Which needless to say means that I also spend quite a bit of money here on an annual basis. It’s a premiere theater in the North Bergen county area. Or at least it used to be. In recent months I’ve noticed that they’re slacking with the general maintenance and upkeep of the theater. I’ll be blunt, it’s downright filthy. The theaters are filthy, the lobby is filthy. Food all over the rugs. I’ve notice live rodents there several times over. I was in the Dolby theater and had a mouse pop up next to me in the beverage holder of the next seat over. Recently, I tried 3 different beverage machines that shot soda everywhere. Two of them consistently fired the rubber stopper for the machine into my cup. On off-peak days it’s particularly horrible, filthy and understaffed. And the staff that are there just really don’t seem to care. This is truly surprising being that the theater is part of the Garden State mall. The AMC Garden State 16 truly needs to get their act together.

My family went here to see Aladin at 4:50. We got there early with reserved seats, but when we got inside our seats were taken, and not what we had seen on the map when reserving. So we sat one row behind. First of all, all the seats were so messy but that's beside the point. We were finally asked to move ten minutes into previews and we went to our originally assigned seats, and asked the ppl sitting there to leave, which they did. But one patron refused to move saying that's the seats he reserved, and he showed me his ticket which said my seat. So I told a cashier that someone was sitting in my seat who aggravated me and refused to open my seat for me so she went up to him and asked, and at that point the people who reserved the seats next to us that his friend was in we're also asking for their seats. So the woman confirmed his ticket said a different theater number and she asked him to leave. Suffice it to say we had a terrible experience despite paying extra money to reserve seats online.

Do not go to this place. Horrible customer service. I arrived 30 minutes before the show. Wanted to get popcorn and snacks. Guy tells me I can’t enter or buy anything and to tell me to come back at 8:40 when the movie plays at 9:00. Never heard anything like that before. By the time I wait online and get my stuff from concessions it will be 8:40. Rude employee and should not have scanned my ticket if he knew the movie starts at 9:00. If he hadn’t I would’ve cancelled my tickets and took my business back to regal. Never doing business with AMC again.

They are out of food apparently half the time I've come. Hot dogs are apparently something they are unable to have enough of regularly. Seats are ok but much nicer in Ridgefield Park where we prefer to go and other AMCs I've been to. Staff is spotty... sometimes decent and other times aloof, borderline rude, or just understaffed in general. Really the nice screens and being attached to a mall are all it has going for it. The location gives it the stars it gets.

I'm a stubs Premiere member for years... I arrived at garden State Plaza theater at 11:15 for an 11:00 showing on 2/23/2019 and the security guards threw me out saying the movie theater was closed. I told him I was there for the 11 showtime and he said "too bad, movie theaters closed." I asked if the showtime was canceled and was told " no, but the ticket booth is closed" I said I will order on the kiosk and he said "no, you can't we're closed, you have to leave"... I will never come back to garden state amc 16....Riverside Square is a much better Theater with much better customer service anyway. Absolutely Disgusting this is how they treat Premier Members , maybe I will find a new movie theater all together.

An amazing location to watch a movie. It hosts about 18 or so theaters. Some of which are huge. Some theaters have 450 seats or so. The customer service is decent. Parking is free, which is always a plus and the bathrooms are clean and maintained well. I wouldn't mind seeing a movie here again.

First time back in 2 years. Good to see the theater is still good place to visit. I do wish you still actually had people selling tickets because it took a while getting tickets because of the one employee helping different people at the same time at multiple self help kiosks. But she was doing her best to help people out. She was still doing great with her customer service and was very helpful.

Huge theater....very very dirty. From the bathrooms to the hallways and the seats. Very unsanitary. This should be unacceptable foensuch a big company as AMC. Would not recommend.

It was horrible. Long lines, not enough people working. Only 1 cashier to buy tickets, everthing else kiosk purchase. They ran out of soda on ALL machines. I PAID $6 for freaking tap water. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE !!!

Very large mall with two levels and pretty much anything you could want. Very clean and tons of places to sit down

I went to the Kinky Boots musical fanthom event, the movie started a half hour late and the volume was way too low. Was going to talk to managment afterwards but there was some kinda ruckus with kids screaming in the lobby so we left. I really don't want to go back but when it's a special event when a movie is playing only there I have to, so I hope AMC picks other theaters in the future for special events.

The number of theaters gives you lots of options for new releases. Reserved seating is a huge plus. Usually pretty clean.

I saw the Mid 90's and the film was shown with a seemingly dark lens because the whole film was dark even the bright afternoon scenes. The coming attractions were all shown brightly. Why the difference?

We always go back to this movie theater yet the seats were dirty, not the end of the world yet cleaning in between movies is a must . The seating was great & the quality of the picture was good .

I would give it 5 stars if only they had a couple of workers at the register. Only one was open Friday morning. Other than that, the theatre was clean, roomy and enjoyable.

It’s convenient having a movie theater attached to a mall only 10 minutes from home. This is probably where I see most movies. The Dolby Theater is amazing. High price, but worth the comfy seats and spectacular sound.

Go here often because of its convenience. The theater is clean and parking is easy because it is in the mall. Never had a real problem but the concession stand can be undermanned at times and slow.

Of course because of the high traffic in the mall this theater has some wear already. Took away a star from my previous rating mainly because of the quality of the seats and the cleanliness. But still a good theater to go to don't get me wrong.

Only go for Dolby! 10/10 best Dolby theater I've ever been too. The rest of the theaters there are regular like everywhere else.

I come here to take my son to play in the Amazon area. He loves it and it's a great addition for children who just need to get some energy out. I don't even always shop I just stop in and let my kids RIP and run like maniacs with me right by their side.

If you’re cool with sitting in nasty chairs, come here!! I’m currently sitting here waiting to see Creed II and my skin is crawling. Glad I wore a sweater and leggings because I would hate for my skin to make contact with these dirty/stained chairs. I don’t understand how this place can charge $25 for a drink and soda but not have the funds to maintain their business. It even smells bad. Perfect environment for rats. The bathroom was covered in pee and napkins. People were actually stepping over the trash to use the restroom. Y’all should be shut down. Only god knows how clean the food containers are.

Soda machine out of the type of soda I wanted on a Saturday night, which is ridiculous after you pay for the overpriced drink in a movie theater! Also in the theater, the projector wasn't set right and edges of the movies were getting cut off from the screen. Overall clean movie theater but would likely avoid going there again.

The line to check tickets (not purchase tickets) went all the way to the escalators. One person checking, while other visible employees seen not working (one on cell phone texting, other 2 chatting and laughing). Waited in the similarly long line for concessions to get an ICEE. Nope, machine is out. How about a soda? Nope, they don't have soda of any kind. I go to the theater for the movie theater experience. Management needs to get it together.
