Very nice venue for for art house movies and musical groups/comedy shows. Went to their first story telling event with local area talent.
What a fantastic evening we had at the Colonial Theater. Everything was superb. The outside patio for a drink prior to showtime, the seats were comfortable, the staff was great. Cannot wait to go again.
Great venue!!!
A movie theater with character, so refreshing!
Old school theatre and the concession area is very nice as it was previously a bank.
Saw the 10,000 Maniacs. The venue has come a long way. Great place to see music. The sound quality was very good and there's not a bad seat in the place. It's very personal and upfront. A great historic place that was preserved and you can walk right outside to 20 something different beer and restaurant joints.
Seen the original Halloween there tonight. The theater was packed. Very clean, bathrooms a beautiful. Old school style with a modern touch. I loved it there and will def be going back
Quaint seasonal movie and performance venue.
Love this classic cinema! They make fantastic choices in indie films, have top notch live performances, and fun film fests. Honestly, the only problem is that more people don't come -and they are missing out.
Very nice place to watch a movie or a show. I came up to see a great show, I enjoyed it. The town is pretty cosie, the people are very nice at the theater and I had a good time. Definitely will revisit.
This theater is the best around! Cheaper tickets than other theaters, plus cheap concessions, wine and beer, and a beautiful historical setting. Also, I've never seen a bad film there. They're all well done, and they often show really poignant cultural films that other theaters don't show. Love them!
Excellent spot to catch an thoughtfull film
Great place to see a show. Building needs a little TLC.
Was here for Spring-Ford Film festival the place is great we were in the section that the blob was filmed
Wish it was open all year!
Great local theater with three screens and a great combination of classics and new releases. Concessions are actually affordable
Beautifully restored. The seats were comfortable, no springs in the behind. Nice concession stand. Very clean and pleasant staff.
Charming and very welcoming theater. It felt like home.
Took the kids to see captain marvel 46 bucks for all 7 of us and popcorn the sound quality was amazing will definitely be back
Nice, OLD FASHIONED, Quaint
Awesome venue for movies and live entertainment.
Great old time theater! Definitely catch a show or movie here if you ever get the chance
We went for Blobfest, of course, but this theater is fantastic the rest of the year as well. Great staff. Good concessions. Good event space. Excellent movie selection. So great that this historic theater offers modern expectations with classic flavor.
Wow, wow, wow! Nitty Gritty Dirt Band live on stage at the Colonial. What a night of music! Think I died and went to heaven. Thanks for hosting such awesome shows, Colonial!
My first time ever! Beautiful old theater! We saw The Wizard of Oz and it took me back to a simpler time. Good snacks.
This theater has a grand, colorful heritage and continues to make history by featuring great movies and national acts
Love old time atmosphere-don't change anything!
Small but cozy. Nice place.
Excellent young organist played multiple lovely Christmas songs and then the organ was lowered into the stage to watch the movie! This theatre is not only gorgeous inside, but is also a non-profit organization, and makes downtown Phoenixville shine out! You definitely want to experience this place!
Fantastic historical landmark!! The expansion is beautiful and the theatre represents film lovers all around the world. One of the best indie theatres around montgomery county
This is the best place to go to see a movie. I especially like to watch movies in the old theatre. They also have great events like the the blob run and festival.
This theatre is a gem set in a growing small town. It is a great venue to see a concert. It allows a very intimate interaction between the performers and the audience. The staff are wonderful people, they really care about your experience and work hard to ensure you have an amazing time. Thank you for providing so much culture to Bethlehem.
The music during the live season is outstanding--an eclectic mix that will appeal to most lovers of live music, in a comfortable, energy filled venue with a great sound system.
Love an old theater. They are doing restorations so hopefully it will be back to its original grandeur soon. The yearly blondest and annual airing of Christmas Story are highlights but this place is all around a gem. Check it out!
Just saw The ghost of Paul Revere and was blown away...
Quaintly restored theater, very nice. Tonight was 2 for 1 night, so even better!
What a great place to see a show, cheaper than chain movie theaters and you can have a beer.
Shovels and rope. Awesomeness. From Texas. Great hospitality.
Love the history and how the theater is being used with many area...nice set up with the concessions Big daddy Graham and Joe Conklin were excellent
The programs and films presented here are of the highest quality. The amenities and facilities are a bit old and in need of up-grading but the spirit of the community and the quality of the management and leadership makeup for any short comings. A great little regional center for film and live entertainment..
(Translated by Google) Nice place! (Original) ¡Lindo lugar!
Pat Metheny show was great. The venue is perfectly sized for an up close experience.
The Coloniel is one of my favorite venues, great movies, great guests/performers and located in a wonderful town...it has it all!
Theatre run by non-profit organization and made famous as the theater in the original 1950s The Blob movie. I saw a film in the small downstairs viewing room. Cozy and comfortable. The tickets and snacks are cheap for a theater concession stand. Wine, beer, hard cider, tea & coffee are available. Cheap parking is available in one of the municipal lots--suggest the lot next to the police station and walk up under the bridge to the theater. The town center is walkable and Valley Forge is nearby for you history fans.
Best local theater for first run movies and classics. Also, a stage for comedy and live music events. Intimate, charming and personal small movie house of year's gone by. Plus it's the home of the Blob!
Staff is so friendly. The seats were comfy but didn't recline, Picture was very clear, sounds were great, we were in new room.
Love The Colonial, an awesome restored theater in the heart of Phoenixville. If you have never been, you need to check it out.
Great little community theatre. Passionate volunteers working to bring vibrant new life to this venue! Gangstagrass rocked the house on Friday night! Go see a show!
Last evening was my first experience at the Colonial Theatre. I really enjoyed it.
The best.theater anywhere. Old world glamour, FAIR prices, super friendly service. Takes you back to when going to a.movie was a night out, not a corporate financial drain. I love it here the work to rebuild.this theater was absolutely worth it, just stunning.
Love the OLD FASHION LOOK... and the ballons show was TERRIFIC
Beautiful theater! Our first visit was for Tomb of Ligeia, which was featured during October. We took our friends who were visiting from Norway. It was a two hour drive from our home. The theater was immaculate. Their new bathrooms were spotless. The concession area was well stocked and only a fraction of the cost of other theaters. The main theater had very comfortable seats with plenty of room. Many other older buildings have uncomfortable seats with little leg room, not here. The even was fascinating and watching Tomb of Ligeia with Vincent Price and Elizabeth Shepherd on the big screen was a memory we will never forget. The Q and A session was mind-blowing, and the behind the scenes stories was just what I was hoping for. Even at two hours away, we will certainly be back. We loved it here.
Love old theaters
first date with a love. MAE + CJZ ive made it to Ukraine now to prove my love for u! hope you see this someday if i never see u again!
A lovely theater, good popcorn!
Stephen picks the best movies!
Great place to see movies or shows. Second time I'm here to see The Mads. Would highly recommend it.
This classic old time theater holds so many good shows and festivals. Blobfest is my favorite!!
Not only a beloved historical icon, but also a genuinely great theater. It shows both new blockbusters and older classics, as well as special events. The people working there are all incredibly nice, the theaters are all beautiful, and you can volunteer there if you want to be a part of history and the community! P. S. The snacks aren't crazy overpriced either
Saw blue oyster cult here on the 14th, great show!!!
Wow! The colonial renovations are incredible. Affordable family fun all in one place!
Richard Thompson in a funky old venue with a state of the art new sound system. Perfect first night of summer.
The theater is great, but not made for big people. Small old seating.
Such a vintage feel and a beautiful building!
Was married here in March, 2018 and it was the best!! The theatre is absolutely stunning, and the renovations are spectacular. Love that they show independent films that are not typically shown in other theaters.
Blob Fest was amazing fun
Great, old school theatre. Wonderful movie selection and experience!
We are so fortunate to have this gem of a theater in the North Country! The choice of movies is excellent as are the many incredibly talented performers.
Intimate venue with good acoustics, at least for banjos, lol. I like that they have cards you can use to hold your seat, as well as blankets you can borrow if you get chilly.
The recently expanded, Colonial Theatre is located on Bridge Street in the heart of downtown Phoenixville. The venue is comprised of the 117-year-old Colonial Theatre and adjacent Bank of Phoenixville building, which houses two additional theatres and patron amenities that include a bar and concessions. Open seven days a week, and the Colonial offers new film releases daily at a minimum of nine screening times. Cult and classic movies, children’s concerts and movies, live concerts, and comedy for adults, and special events and program series are additional
This is a great old-time historic theater in a wonderful and vibrant town of Phoenixville. I took the family to see a matinee and the kids loved sitting in the balcony of an old theater. The theater has been expanded and renovated but has maintained its old-time charm. For the adults, they have added a wine and beer bar and some great food options. The Location of the theater is great because you can go out to quite a number of great restaurants and or breweries within steps from the exit in the heart of downtown Phoenixville. I have also gone out with my wife to a number of live music performances and comedy acts that are offered at the theater at different times during the year. Definitely check the schedule because there are some pretty amazing local and well-known National acts that perform here. Overall, the Colonial Theatre offers a great entertainment value. I highly recommend using this local Jewel with family and friends.
I always love movies here. It also supports local business.
Great acts in a beautiful little theatre.
Was here for Blob Fest and had a great time.
A Phoenixville landmark. I catch Groundhog Day and It's a Wonderful Life here every year.
It's a seasonal theater and I can't wait until it opens again. We love the unique movies they show and the old fashion movie house atmosphere
Awesome atmosphere love the renovations.
The Colonial is a favorite! Love their thoughtful movie choices, great admission price, and being able to purchase a glass of wine to enjoy while watching the movies.
Was there for Blobfest 2019, great time and it continues through the weekend.
Great place and they had my nephews wedding there.
I come here often. Mostly for classic films but they host a variety of entertainment. I am looking forward to my first "Blobfest" experience this year.
Wow! Alots changed since my last visit. The original theater was always a treat with it's old timey atmosphere. Unbeknownst to me, the owners took the old building attached next door and added 2 more theaters , a big concession stand and some places to use for meetings.
I love the Colonial, all the charm of the past mixed with a blend of today.
Great theater to see a show or movie.
This place is so awesome! It's like stepping back in history when you enter and watch movie or performance in the original theater. They have added on to theater/performance space taking over the old bank next door and have done a beautiful …
What a treasure to have! They have free events for kids during the summer as well!
Love this place, great shows and good movies and they show a lot of independent and art movies that don't play anywhere else around.
A beautifully restored theater in downtown Phoenixville.
This is a Gem. Sit in the balcony.
A great place to see a movie. The seats are comfortable and well-spaced. The environment is very relaxed and comfortable. The concessions are well priced and the popcorn was quite good. Definitely worth a visit! Especially for Blob-fest!!
A lovely well- preserved old movie theatre with ALL the best trimmings... some screenings, like Vertigo November 25, 2018, even include music on the fabulous organ that rises like a phoenix right up through the stage floor! We will be back as often as possible!
The theatre has been beautifully restored. A part of the movie 'The Blob' was filmed here back in the day. The seats are comfortable and it is an intimate setting. Every seat has a good view due to the angle of the theatre. We watched a musical performance and the sound was very good as well. You will enjoy this theatre for any experience.
Great classic theatre! Has been there I believe since 1903 has a nice balcony as well
I had been to the colonial before it's remodel, but last night was my first time since the renovation. It is beautiful! We were in the downstairs theater, which was the perfect setting for a scary movie. If you want an alcoholic beverage, then it's just $3 for a reusable glass + the cost of the drink. You bring the glass with you when you go back to skip the $3 cost. We will definitely be back!
Especially nice during Blob Fest
The Colonial Theatre puts on some of the best performances in the area.
My favorite movie theater with all the best movies! I love the children's programming, and classic movies on Sunday as well as the music programs. This theater is a treasure in our community! And it's worth a visit! Also you can get beer, wine and great chocolate bars!
Friday Fright Night rules! Don't miss Blob Fest, either. The renovations have really kept this historic theater in great shape. A real community gem.
One of my favourite places on Earth. The classic theatre is just gorgeous and the fright night crew has impeccable taste. Pictured is an Alien poster with art by PA local artist John Salvino!
The Colonial Theatre is a wonderful place to catch a new or classic movie! Highly recommended!
Blobfest was awesome!
Friendly staff.Clean theater. Inexpensive snacks. Can't ask for much more.
Lofely little movie theater. Very comfy. Apologies for playing the piano, can't help it. Professional pianist. Forgot movies might still be running...
Comfortable stadium seating. The feel of the downstairs seating makes as if you are par taking in a director's debut of the movie.
They have live entertainment
I had never been to the Colonial Theater before. Now it's my favorite theater. Definitely the best theater in the area.
Wonderful historic theater that gives you blankets for the cold nights. Usually have independent films and a few music performances a year
Great experience! This was my second time there. Both times were great. The employees are very nice, the atmosphere, and the look are very nice. The snack bar is reasonably priced, and you can get an adult(alcohol) beverage with your candy and popcorn.
Curators know film, and what the movie lovers love. I saw MANDY ,a trippy artsy horror film. In the vein of Alamo draft house and the arthouse cinemas of NYC, thus place treats film like art and it's located in a proud craft beer brewing town with great surrounding restaurants. Balcony seating also....THEY FILMED THE BLOB THERE TOO.... how cool is that!
Lovely place to catch a movie in the Phoenixville historical district. They also have beer!
Love this community-run theater. Volunteers are passionate and always a great local crowd. A very good lineup of musical talent and films!
Love this theater with its great mixture of independent films, live music, and kids programming.
The indy movies here are stellar. What a treat/ privilege to see the Mr. Rogers documentary 'Won't You Be My Neighbor.' at this theatre. I've never seen a bad movie here. I love this theater.
Great time and nice place
Caught the Manhattan Short festival here Saturday. Great take. Great Venue.
Small town movie theatre. Complete with blankets on cooler nights. Wonderful venue
Great concert venue. Cozy with seats for 650 in the circa 1903 Theatre.
Best movie theater in the world. Fight me. I'll win.
Great locally operation! Very cool independent films and amazing live shows!
Always a great experience when going to this theater. Their movie choices are always impressive and live events are exceptional. Concessions have more options than your standard movie theater, including adult beverages. A real gem in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
I recently worked a catering job there. The staff was very kind and accommodating. I hope to go back soon and experience it as a guest!
The Colonial recently expanded and is beautiful. You still have the original theater, but now the old bank building has been converted into cinema event space. It has a sweet staff, tasty concessions and lots of charm.
A rare gem of an old fashioned theater. Went to see a classic film screening as a date night. The atmosphere is amazing there.
Support your local theater, new expansion is beautiful with beer and wine available.
What an awesome place for some local culture! Everyone associated with the theater is super nice and so friendly! Comfortable seating plenty of leg room. Perfect blend of vintage and modern inside and out. And the entertainment they showcase is outstanding! Will definitely be back!
Great atmosphere, friendly staff!
Great nostalgic theater. Live stage performances and great movies from the past.
Such a good atmosphere!
Took the kids to see a performance paid for by the library. It was clean and the seats were comfortable. Staff was polite.
Beautiful old classic theater! I just saw Halloween! Great experience! Great prices at concession!! I'll be back soon to see "The Fog"!!
My family n I went for blob fest. It's a great experience nice atmosphere.
Very comfortable theatre. Nice crowd.
Born & Raise in Pville and love what they did to the theatre.
Wonderful Cinema too bad it's not open in the winter time
Awesome venue. Not a bad seat in the house
What a gem! I've long known of the Colonial Theater, primarily from its role as the theater in the film, "The Blob," but I only recently visited. I wanted to see "Roma," in a traditional theater rather than streaming it on Netflix, and the Colonial was the nearest (about an hour's drive for me). Not only was "Roma" well-presented in a nice, cozy screening room -- the whole venue includes the original "Colonial Opera House" (c. 1903), and two newer theatres in the expansion into the adjacent National Bank of Phoenixville building (c.1925) -- the entire complex is beautiful, and I'm extremely excited by all their community programs, special screenings, and non-film presentations they do. I'll definitely be attending more events at Colonial in the near future. Highly recommended...
Not the flashiest theatre but one of the few places to see classics and 80s films.
We totally enjoyed our night out to see the hysterical and brilliant Paula Poundstone. A wonderful venue in a great little town, with an exceptional lineup of (seasonal only) events. Can't wait to go back!
Excellent theater! Loved seeing Downton Abbey in this historic treasure.
Absolute treasure. Old time theater. New movies, old movies, classics, and live performances. Must check out event calander. Oh and home of The Blob.
One of my new favorite places !! New and old mixed just right...get your tickets!
Got to see The Mads from MST3K again. Great show.
Good seats and cheap ticket and snacks
This theater has so much character
