The prices are way too high, and the people who run it or the owners pester people over simple things when they should just leave people alone that are only there to watch a movie and have a good time. Other than that I really enjoyed spending time with my son and my granddaughter and my wife.

My family LOVEs this drive-in and we visit it around 5 times each season. (We drive 40 minutes.) The box office prices are excellent and you see two new movies or sometimes retro movies. The concession stand has a nice variety and the prices are much less expensive than a traditional movie theater. I highly recommend going if you haven't been. Such a fun experience!

This Drive in is family owned and operated. The rates are reasonable and many times a double feature is offered. The staff is friendly, Restrooms are clean, and a snack bar is available. I enjoy stepping back in time to enjoy a movie from the comfort of my vehicle. I don't even have to roll my window down anymore. I just tune in to a radio station posted below the screen to hear the movie play. No more mosquito bites! Unless, you sit outside your car and forget to use bug spray. In that case, bring something to sit on. If you have younger children they can play on the swings located directly beneath the movie screen. Great family fun!

Let’s be honest - if you grew up coming here or have lived in Lamar your whole life, you probably cannot objectively review this place. As someone with no nostalgia to feed off of when coming here, I found it to be overhyped - it’s just not a good place to see a movie if you want to actually watch the movie (maybe the second time but definitely not the first time). The people that run this place are lovely, but they seem to be understaffed. Case in point, throughout all of a movie they had a line backing out the door and across a good part of the campus at their concession stand and to a lesser extent their bathrooms. This directly affected everyone nearby as we were parked close to that area and so many people talking and yelling while in line was incredibly distracting, and we were at least 60 feet away - maybe it should be relocated to the back of the lot if it’s hard to keep up, and maybe more restrooms should be added. The screen is quite small - I am used to Carthage’s Route 66 Drive In Screen, which is substantial; Barco’s screen is like watching a movie on your phone, if you set your phone up 3 feet in front of you. Also hated how 30 minutes into the movie, they were still letting people drive in with their lights on. For what this place is, it’s cheap and probably amazing to the people in Lamar that have nothing to do for entertainment but I would recommend going to Carthage instead. This place has potential but without improvement it’s below average at best. I get that they might not make a lot off of this theater but I think saving to make improvements would be worth the investment.
