AMC Esquire is the best movie theater in the St Louis area, Even Marcus wehrenberg can't mach up with AMC Esquire. But AMC Esquire can do one more thing to get more people to go to Esquire, you should give customers a experience where they can get a meal , even popcorn if they want it, without leaving his or her "Reclining seat". I think people are more willing to pay more for that experience. Especially sometime in the future.

Theatre is magnificent; seating divine. You drop the armrest between seats to make one big cuddle pad!! Help is a little less awesome though generous with popcorn......definitely going back. Loved the original Esquire photos proudly displayed from the 30's forward....

This is our favorite theater in town. Love that it’s always reserve seating. Love that the theaters are clean. Love that the people are nice. Because it’s a limited number of screens, there will be a movie here or there that they don’t show, but it usually isn’t an issue. Only reason this doesn’t get 5 stars is that the bathrooms don’t seem like they are well maintained. The men’s room is almost always dirty when I go. And not like “oh there’s an errant paper towel” but “oh; there’s a puddle of pee under all the urinals and all the counters have puddles of water on them”.

Love the comfy seats one of my favorite movie theaters in St Louis... Bad side note. I got bit by a bed bug there. Im highly allergic. I know it was a bite from one because of my skin reaction and the form of it. (I do not play with these bugs and stripped as soon as i got home to check my clothes and area bit i will not allow these things in my life again)

They have great selection of movies and great prices they even have a liquor bar at the concession area. The seats are great you pick where you want to sit when you buy your ticket, and they're very comfortable and recline. I love this movie theater

I've not been to the Esquire in several years. The potential of a great theater is there and the location is ideal! We returned again tonight and they've made updates to the seating, excellent food options and the staff are amazingly kind and efficient. However.... The entry into the space is congested and with no real organization. They promote the use of online and kiosk ticket sales but there's not an easy way to access or any order on a busy night. The updated recliners in the large theater space are already broken down, with tears, grime and broken dividers. The seats are broken down making it feel as if you're sitting low and the seat area is almost like sitting on the mechanical aspects. It's very warm in the theater. Although it was a slightly cool evening the theater with all those people in it, made it very warm and unlike normal theaters that keep it cooler to offset the human element, this space did not adjust to that as needed. Finally the patrons are a bit rough and unfortunately the staff can do little to stop the talking, phone use, etc. This meant that I paid to listen to others having phone conversations, talk loudly, wander around and be uncomfortably warm. This resulted in my partner getting a migraine. Overall, I wouldn't return. Generally the AMC theater brand seems to try. Considering the other brands reward offerings, quality and care with not only the cleanliness of the theater, food options and even price, there's no reason to continue to visit this or other AMC theaters.

Went here to see some movie I forgot the name but its always a in and out experience for me lines where long but I skipped it with the app. Concession move fast and they always seem like they are fully staff. Never had a problem I recommend the $5 Tuesday's but I don't use it because im a A list member. Not my go to location (Not the closest to my home), but its always my second choice.

I have epilepsy and the night we went, I started to have seizures. The manager was so kind and gave us re-admit tickets so we could try to come back the following night. We will definitely be going back again in the future. Btw, we did go back the following night and I made it through the movie.

I remember going to see Source Code starring Jake Gyllenhaal. I had a decent date and we kissed through the movie. There was no one else there besides this hobo creepily laying down behind us. Overall the Esquire seemed very clean and nice. I wouldn’t mind going back soon.

Love this location! Concession stand are quick! The update the whole building. Luxury seating at a great location. Always pretty clean. The employees are all nice and helpful. My favorite AMC location inside the STL. Parking is in the back and there’s a little walkway towards the front.

Nice that they have a bar but the lobby gets crowded really fast, it's hard to tell which love is where for concessions, and there is no place to sit while you wait for the movie room to be cleaned.

I give this theatre a 4 star review mainly because it has 1 or 2 screens that are really big and makes you feel like you are in a really nice theatre. The other rooms are a bit smaller with smaller screens, which takes away from the viewing experience if you ask me. It has recently been remodeled and is nice looking. They serve beer, etc. and it's expensive just like every other theatre.

Being nice giving a one star!! Walked into section 7 couldn't believe that it was not cleaned. The pre movie selection was on prior to the start of the movie. The seat that was selected by me was not available to me because of the empty popcorn container and used paper towels and also the droppings of the popcorn on the seats and the floor. Will not return!!!

Very racist I took my 17 year old granddaughter and her 18 yr old boyfriend to movies , I wanted to see a different movie from them . we in line we purchase tickets they ask them for ID ‘s and I said we are together they said well you have to see the same movie. A white family in line in front of us kids buy their own tickets went to see the same movie my grand daughter was trying to see , they were younger than my granddaughter they let them but told me NO .... and refused to serve us after we complained

Wow. That was a filthy theater. My seats and the floor in front of them were covered with popcorn and smeared with actual nacho cheese. The women's bathrooms were in a pretty bad state as well. Maybe it was an off day, or maybe the quality is just declining overall. I've never seen it that bad.

The staff was helpful, courteous & an absolute delight. The theater was very clean unlike some theaters I've been to recently. I took my grandson to see The Adams Family (loved it!) and we snuggled up with our blankets in the ultra comfy loungers and enjoyed every minute.

This is one of my favorite AMC to go to! This place to me have some very luxurious seats and not to expensive food. The free style unlimited soda is the best that any movie can do. I would only say that I wish the premier customer get a bit more then what's offered. But honestly that's just me being me, the over all experience of this place is 5 stars. Great staff clean theater, I hope that doesn't change. Unless it's for the better

No crowd control. Box office clerks were there to collect a paycheck instead of provide a friendly experience. I took my client with autism to see the Grinch, but due to no crowd control, we left this place. It didn't feel safe there. It's been a while since I've been there and I noticed that it's really gone down hill. I wouldn't reccomend it.

We belong to their movie club and get excellent discounts in tickets and concession stand items.Joing the movie club more than pays for itself. The staff is young but we never have any issues. They provide us with good customer service and we never have any major issues. We go there several times a month and are satisfied with our experience and parking is free.

I am use to AMC; as a Stubs Member, I love this brand. However, this smaller quaint neighborhood theater was not up to snuff! The staff was friendly and courteous but the facilities were not what I am accustomed to with the AMC brand. There was nothing wrong or done directly to me during my visit to this location to influence my rating; however, there was trash everywhere . I enjoyed the movie and will venture back here if there is a move I am dying to see during an impromptu moment, but other than that I will feel more inclined to venture else where. Cheers,

Lots of talking-sometimes back to the actors on the screen (spoiler alert-they cannot HEAR you)--a$$holes texting--etc. This is a theater for people who think it's social hour and that they are in the freaking living rooms. i have had several movies RUINED by rude and ignorant moviegoers here and it;s been that way for decades.

I love the reclining seats. Just had a wonderful experience there. I had free tickets to go and had never been before. Both my friend n I liked the theater. I just wish we didn't have to park in back. I'm disabled n it's a rather long walk around when you have breathing issues. I did like that it was well lit both in front n out back. This is my go to movie theater. There are really comfortable recliners which I believe are in all of the theaters. The parking lot in the back always has lots of space and many accessible parking spots. 4 or 5, I believe. You can buy tickets yourself at a kiosk or inside at the desk. Buying tickets online adds a service fee which is too bad, but guarantees you a seat. It has always been very clean!

The theater is okay, they have the nice reclining seats and the easy ticket machines like most places. The only thing is that some of the seats were broken in the theater we were in. The staff quickly and easily helped us change our seats with no problem. The bathrooms weren't as clean as they could have been, but maybe I went in between cleanings. Otherwise okay.

Filthy parking lot was a bad first impression. There was so much trash and food in the ground it looked like a dump. Not to mention the Google directions bring you to the front I'd the building and theres never any street parking available so we had to turn a few street corners trying to find the parking lot. The ticket redemption computers were both out of order and when I had called ahead of time they wouldn't do sales over the phone bc they were 'busy' and the website was hard to use. Every time I selected our seats and went to buy them it said they were already taken. Happened like 3 times in a row-hence why I called them. Eventually managed to secure tickets online. The theater seats were big reclining chairs which was cool but my husband and I sat by a young couple (18, 20 years old maybe) who talked through the whole damn movie and fondled each other and were making out in a disgusting fashion. It was very distracting and ruined the experience for me. Plus the tickets for a 3d movie were really expensive! I will drive to Ronnie's or the one in creve coeur next time.

Heavens or Hell!

So, the theater itself is a shamble. The bathrooms reek of urine and feces, some of the seats are ripped or dont work, the concession there also need some work as they left stale popcorn in popcorn maker and the drinks concession was littered with nothing but trash. I understand people can be dirty but when you have 2 attendents standing there staring and cracking jokes at people, theres a problem.

This movie theatre has to be one of the best in town! I recently started doing back to this theatre once they made dramatic improvements! Its clean, the staff are professional, and each movie room is spacious and relaxing. They have adjustable seats, a personalized drink maker, good food, and a mini bar! This movie theater in particular really did start from the bottom figuratively speaking.

This place is one of the coolest movie theater experiences I've ever had. It's a great mix of classic theater and Modern Luxury updates. The outside looks like it's been untouched while the inside make sure you are comfortable and can perfectly see the movie. A combination of their very comfy loungers and drop down rows that make sure your vision is not blocked by the person in front of you, make this place something special. I will very much look into going here again for the next big screen movie that I want to see

Hands down, best theater in STL! When any big movie comes out that I want to see, I know to buy tickets to theater #5. In a historic building AMC has done a decent job at preserving the history of the building while still being up to date. Check out the old photos in the hallway.

Large, comfortable seats which near-full recline capabilities. The theaters, well at least theatre 5, are designed in such a fashion that even the seating off to the side and near the back actually do make for decent movie-viewing. In addition to the standard popcorn/hotfood/candy counter, there is also a bar for those so inclined.

After its amazing renovation in 2014 the Esquire has only gotten better. They serve drinks, have 7 beautiful theaters, easy QR code scanner, and excellent service. The touch screen soda machines are a nice touch, too. Last time I went was to see Avengers Endgame. Great 3D viewing and an entire tub of popcorn to share with a good friend. Will keep going as long as I live in STL.

Couldnt get a ticket for at least 10 minutes. Twice a girl who worked at the theater walked back to the ticket counter but claimed she didnt work behind the ticket counter so she could not sell me tickets. I asked politely for her to call someone who does work behind the counter. She never did. Maybe I caught them on break but you should definitely have someone available to sell tickets at all times that's ridiculous there were people behind me as well. I ended up just ordering a ticket online at a different theater a few miles away because of the lengthy wait. Hopefully they have somebody behind the ticket counter next time and not ppl just walking around not being helpful except to say they can't help you.

Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They locked us out after we had purchased tickets outside. We had to argue with the manager for over 5 minutes to let us watch the movie (after an employee told us we had to buy tickets outside). They made us miss the beginning part of the movie. This is a warning to go to a different movie theatre in St. Louis.

You can see a movie here. It used to be awesome. Now it is a madhouse. The lobby is crowded and the counter service is slow, unless you become a special subscriber to some club. Not many bathrooms. You still pay a boatload of money for popcorn but you don't get the refillable unless you join some subscriber club. MX is better. So is Moolah. So is the Chase. C'mon ESQ, pull it together. You used to be a class act.

I love seeing movies here. I use the App to buy my tickets and select my seat. I show my phone once I arrive, and my tickets are promptly printed. I love going in the mornings or on Tuesdays early and it's never over crowded and I don't have to worry about people talking during the movie.

Great seats with good movies. It's nice to be able to buy tickets online, pick out the seats you want then just print them out when you get to the theater. The five dollar Tuesday deal is the best overall deal around. Try the huge pretzel also.

The best wheelchair/handicapped seating in town. I love sitting in the back row. My favorite theater. Very easy to get to and right next to Bread Co. and across the street from Qdoba. Make it a dinner and a movie night.

Nice movie theater and place is clean. Food options are many and each movie place is spacious and have good seating arrangement and music quality is good. Staff is professional and helpful. Screen is big and quality is nice. Decor and environment of the place is nice and I had a good experience and I will be back.

A very nifty theater with reserved seating and reclining chairs. The staff were friendly and helpful when our chair didn't work at first. The only negative is the parking. It is around back and one has to either take a half mile hike around the building or cut through a sketchy looking alley. Other than that, nice place!

The service I receive was well. They had some good popcorn and they had lots of drink (although I chose the classic coke). They also had awesome recliners that went back far. Plus, I went with my friend Mallory so it was really enjoyable. ✨

This theater is really great especially for a date night or catching a Blockbuster movie. They did a good job of cleaning it up since I've been there last and my wife and I had a great time. I really like the reclining seats and general atmosphere they provide

I love the seating. But, I am annoyed when others are seated in the handicapped seats and they don't belong. It's already hard for a disabled person to get to their seats and if I have to find the staff to make them move it's annoying and bothersome.

Be careful with assigned seating.I watched movie in theater #2 got seats near the middle of section and it was slightly uncomfortable the seats are closer to the screen than than I would've liked them ..best seats are the last 2 rows in my opinion !!

This is my go to movie theater. There are really comfortable recliners which I believe are in all of the theaters. The parking lot in the back always has lots of space and many accessible parking spots. 4 or 5, I believe. You can buy tickets yourself at a kiosk or inside at the desk. Buying tickets online adds a service fee which is too bad, but guarantees you a seat. It has always been very clean!

The previews cut off in the middle of one. Ordered a combo and had to go back for my drink. Then my cookie and my sister’s applesauce that comes with them. The food was good though. Our seats were suppose to recline but didn’t work. The leather on all the seats were ripped up and torn. You have to park in the back then walk across the parking lot, along the side of the building and then through the front doors even if you’re handicapped.

I loved how the seats can recline back. I learned u have to be some type of member in order to get a free refill of popcorn that was about 15 dollars. How ever I will come back to see more movies!

Very nice adjustable seats. 3 stars for the poor soundproofing between theaters.Try watching "Rocket Man" while extraneous sounds intrude from the adjacent theater. It pulls you right out of the movie! Too bad they cheaped out on the sound insulation. We won't be back, as St. Louis has better choices.
