You know that we do not usually bother to place opinions when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Movie Theater is included in the category of Drive-in movie theater.
AMAZING! I do miss the old animations. Only complaint the bathroom paper towel thing makes a ear splitting noise... Sorry that was idiotic of me to post that
Fun and great place. Food is average priced and very good.
Love coming here with my wife and cant wait to take my daughter after she is born
What an incredible place. Going to the Route-66 Drive-in never ceases to feel like magic. It's not necessarily the concessions or the facility itself, but just the experience of going to a drive-in theater these days is so special. That said, the staff is incredibly friendly, the theater is kept up nicely, and the price-point is always a plus. It can be a little hard to hear if you're outside your car and you should probably go in expecting that the people around you are going to make some noise, but it's so rare to have a film experience like this. I cherish every memory I've had here. Here's hoping they stick around for a long, long time.
Nice cheap theater. Never a bad experience there.
I left about 10 minutes into the movie. I couldn't hear the movie. And people just wouldn't shut up. Laughing, singing, and slamming car doors. I waited half an hour in line for nothing. Never going back
Was nice
The 66 Drive-In on Route 66 in Carthage is a great old drive in. In excellent condition, I was impressed by how well kept it was. However the owner was a bit of an arse and wouldn’t let me in to have a look or take more pictures. Pffft! Still, I’ll say... Recommended. Just.
As a younger person, I feel like it is important to experience a drive inn at least once in your life. This place provides an authentic experience for those who want to see a glimpse into the past movie theater watching experiences. Neat!
Awesome and friendly staff. Made this Aussie feel welcomed
Always a great experience!
NOSTALGIC..REMINDED ME OF MY YOUNGER YEARS
Love going to the drive in they always place some great movies
If you’re looking for a unique experience, this is it! This place is EXTREMELY well maintained. Especially considering it will be 71 years old in September!! Much of the original features are still there. It’s almost entirely exactly the same as it was when I first started going there 37 years ago!
What is not to like about a drive-in theatre. They get first run movies and the price is good compared to indoor theatres. You can get up to move around without having to squeeze past people. On a nice night you can sit outside or if you want, can sit in your car if that makes you comfortable. Only negative here is they have become so popular, you need to be there at least 1 1/2 hours early or risk not getting in.
Great place! Vwey clean!
Very good place to go for family entertainment at a low cost
My family and I always have to go there! The food and movies are all good! If you haven’t been there and want to find something to do on the weekend you gotta go there!
Nice great drive in prices are good and new movies.
Always a favorite!
Very fun family place that is affordable! 2 movies back to back very good value for the price, especially compared to regular theatres. Will be going a lot this summer!
Awesome owner, a very kind person and very helpful. Thank you for hosting this Market
I love we have a drive in still going! Very clean and a great family environment.
Great place to take the family & the only thing that I would complain about the drive-in is that there are always people with big jacked up pickup trucks that will come in and park right in front of your car and then you can't see anything over it, and if it were me running the place I would reserve the first 3 or 4 rows for cars only. If you drive a big pick up truck where you are going to be able see over everybody anyway, be courteous to others around you, park behind them if you want to drive a pick up truck that's lifted and then you get in the back and stand up the whole time. I've literally gotten there almost at the very front of the line, I got a great spot and then somebody left in front of me and some big pick up truck came in and I couldn't see anything, ended up having to move and we couldn't even see the movie almost the whole time. Other than that it is great, especially their concession prices. But, the rude people that show up at the drive-in are enough to make me not go on most weekends. If I knew that I could come in and get a good spot and not have to worry about people ruining the experience for me because the vehicle they drive, I would probably go almost every weekend, but as it is I didn't even go once last year and I've only been once this year, and guess what, I had to deal with some kids jacked up truck parked in front of me, and they just parked it and walked off to go hang with friends, didn't even watch the movies
We always love take the niece's & nephew's here every summer. When they come up to spend part of the summer with us!!!! They always love going back and telling their friends. About the outdoor Drive Inn Movie Theater.
This is one of the best experiences on Route 66. Friendly, family owned place.
Awesome place! Totally worth the money unless it's a packed night, and you have annoying people around you. But even then if you complain they will do something about it. Owner is cool.
Great place for family fun.
Love this place! Family loves it too!
Horrible it started storming and kids didnt even get to finish watching the first showing the lion king let alone the 2nd showing that they were really wanting to see toy story 4 and when i asked for a refund they refused with an attitude and didnt even offer some sort of pass to come back 25 $ down the toilet !!!
Really cheap and has a vintage vibe.
We love it
Awesome as always!!
Love the outdoor experience and I Can Only Imagine!
Good swap-meet today
One of our favorite places to go in the summer! Great prices and friendly staff
It was ok
We love this drive in! Clean, friendly staff, great family atmosphere, good concessions and good pricing - after all you get 2 movies for the price of admission.
They should have a rule that anyone with a hatchback open should have to park in back or keep it closed! Food is good movie was great.could of used better playground equipment.
A great experience. Definitely will be back!
Absolutely love 66 Drive-In! You still get the feeling like you're back in high school again. The prices bead out any movie theater around here.
I love this place
Very affordable and they ofter open gates early to find a good spot. It does quickly become crowded so I would advise getting in line early. The amenities are typically well cared for and in good condition. The concession stand is also reasonably priced, and they have a nice variety of options. Overall it is a great experience and I highly recommend! It is great for dates, family night, or just a group night to enjoy 2 new movies
Horrible! Prices were great but it doesn’t do you much good when parents can’t keep there children under control. Never going back again. For anyone wanting a nice night with your significant other I highly recommend not going.
Haven't been to drive inn for many years. Awesome visit. Support the facility by purchasing food and drink from their concession stand. Prices are cheaper than expected. Nice job 66
Eclectic and historic
An authentic piece of Americana lives on here. A popular, family-friendly destination with decent concessions stand prices & quality. Get there a bit early & park along the road before gates open. Then, find a good parking spot, lower the tailgate & get out the lawn chairs. They won't stop you bringing your own snacks, but their concessions is the only way they make money so be sure to patronize it. (You probably forgot to bring a giant pickle anyway, right?) There's long lines just before the movie starts, but there's two lines on either side of the building & it goes fast enough. Restrooms are adequate - they were built in the 50's so it's all part of that "americana" feel. Sound is provided by FM radio, so either idle your car for 2 hours or bring a radio / boombox as many families do. Playground is available for antsy kids between gate opening & night fall. Don't be surprised if collector cars on a Route 66 trip stop in.
Not bad but more expensive than years past and they still allow smoking. It's a public place, all smoking should be banned!
Our favorite summer activity! Admissions and concessions are very reasonably priced and tasty!
Great night. Loved star spangled banner at the beginning. Good family time.
The best and only drive-in in the area. They always show double features, so you get you money's worth. Make sure to support them by buying some snacks.
$8 for two movies and you can relax in your car and bring your kids for the playground. Never has technical problems, except when your car battery dies. But they usually have a booster battery to get you going!
It's a great place to see a movie under the stars and also see free fireworks after the 4th of July.
So much fun! Good quality picture, clean parking, clean bathrooms, yummy concessions. We are looking forward to returning again. :)
It was great till I had to leave from a severe t- storm
If you want front row better get in line before it opens that you can see excellent from anywhere
It was worth the Money. Movies were at good prices. And there food was a great price as well. Can not wait until they open again.
One of the nicest Drive-In Theatres we have been to! We love going to the Drive-In. They even had a play ground area for the kids! Really friendly people running it. We will be back!
Just saw my 2nd drive-in movie. I enjoy the experience. Don't buy snacks there though; too pricey.
Awesome deal 2 movies for only $8 per person but had some issues hearing parts of the movied
Great place to take a family. Affordable evening of entertainment
Great theatre and great experience!
It was a nice evening with the Grandson's
Awesome place! Family owned.
I am a huge fan of the Drive in in Carthage. It recently came into new management and I love that they play older movies now and not just the new releases. If you are looking for a great way to spend the weekend, this is definitely the place to go. Pull up your car or truck, lay out some blankets in the back and lay down and watch a couple movies for a great price. The snack bar is pretty reasonably priced considering it is a movie theatre of sorts. I'd definitely rather spend the money here than at a regular theatre!
I loved the drive in theater! I wish there was one closer to me!
Great pricing and great quality
They have a wonder selection of movies that changes each week. Open during the summer fri-sun go enjoy a double feature for one low price. Great for yourself, for families, or for groups of friends. There doesn't seem to be many drive-in theatres left and this one is indeed worth keeping around. Go enjoy a movie tonight.
Amazing Drive-In theater our whole family enjoys. Great sound. Safe environment. Decent food. Kinda pricey on food but not as bad as major theaters
Forget the recliners! Watch a movie the way your grandparents chose to. A real piece of Americana. Great prices ro get in and concessions and you're on Route 66. The history speaks to you.
I have been going to this drive in for as long as I can remember. I love this place and have many fond memories here. Now I am making memories here with my husband and children. We try to go several times during the season. It's a tradition that we will continue as long as the place remains open!
Got rained out during ugly dolls but it ok. Love the drive in. Aladdin was better than I thought it would be.
A real piece of history. The owners really must care about keeping it around.
They have a "bouncer" type guy who is very quick to threaten you. Apparently he is a sheriff or something and likes to go on power trips while not in uniform as well.
This is truly my favorite place on Earth
Old theatre. Can't go inside. Just look thought fence. Can see screen thought fence.
Good family fun. Great value
Great place to catch a couple movies. Kids love it.
We love the drive inn, but they need to do something about all of the trucks parking towards the front and blocking people's view. We were 2 rows behind the concession stand off to the side and had 4 trucks come and park right in front of us. Could only see about half the screen unless we stood up. .
Great places to spend time with family. Very clean
This drive in is one of the best I have been to. Their screen appeared to be made of vinyl, which I have not seen before. But the picture was good. And prices were reasonable. Surrounded by honeysuckle, the cars are parked single deep, which is the best for movie viewing purposes in ny opinion. The parking area looked brand new. I am not sure if they smooth out the gravel before each week, or if i happened to catch them on a good week, but it was great. The parking area was also very clean and did not have a gross smell. There is a playground for kids to play on featuring a slide, seasaws, merry go rounds, and concrete bouncers on springs. There is also plenty of area to throw or kick a ball around both in front of the parking area (gravel) as well as in the very back (grass). The bathrooms had about 5 stalls (females) and were located in a safe area, not hidden. They were clean and kept up as well. As for the concessions, there is not a lot of variety when compared to other drive in theatres. Primarily hot dogs, sausages, bbq sandwiches, popcorn, soda, and candy (see picture I posted). I have to give them credit though, that the food they do offer is good. The food prep area and concession area are clean and well managed. I think it is better to offer only a few foods that are good than a bunch of foods that are poor in taste (and they offer a few foods that are good. Which is good.) I would just recommend considering to offer more... maybe burgers and fries? The concession prices are reasonable, as well. One last thing... the building which their concessions are sold in is possibly the best one I have seen, both in style and design. There are two entrances, one on each side, which lead to a single exit in the middle. This allows for traffic to flow through conveniently, instead of having to do this swimming upstream to get back outside sort of thing. Highly recommend this theater.
Love this place. Great for the family
Great place to bring friends and family, run by people who love the place and you can tell, great service and the movie quality is great.
Had a nice time..been forever since I've been to a drive in ..
One of my favorite places to go! Admission prices are in line with many drive ins across the country. The snack bar has a good selection and the prices there are very reasonable! Popcorn is very good! The facility is clean, although dated, but it adds to the charm. My biggest issue is that parking rules are not enforced. We have had to move a few times because someone with a high profile vehicle pulled in front of us, or the hatchback door was up. We hate to make a scene and ask those people to move/close the door, so it's just easier to move. It would be great if they would police the lot before the movie and make the offenders stop.
Fun place. Concession prices are reasonable. Provides memories for me of a younger self when more drive in theaters were still around.
Very, well cleaned, great showtimes, snacks, etc. If you are wanting a place to watch movies for a reasonable price, the 66 drive is your best bet!
Loved this place since I was a kid
People are nice and I had a great time. Food is good too:)
I am a Drive-In connoisseur and this is one awesome place! Clean, inexpensive and no rowdiness. Two movies for $8, Lg popcorn $4, drink $2.50 and candy $1.50... about as good as it gets! Long line to wait to get in so make you get there about an hour before the gate opens and you'll be fine.
Very clean, well maintained, and super friendly people! First time visiting and we were blown away. We will make this a regular fun spot for sure!
I had not been to a drive in for many years. Watching a movie on the big screen is awesome. Everyone was super friendly. Price of admission and snacks were extremely reasonable! Had a great time.
I love this drive-in! It's a really fun and affordable place to go watch a couple movies plus they have a playground for the kids.
Bigger vehicles should have to park in the back. Bathrooms are dirty. Movies under the stars woth family and friends great!
Great place for a date night!
Old fashioned outdoor drive in. Bring your own cooler or purchase snacks in the snack shop. Adults are $10. Kids are $8. Children under 4 are free. You watch 2 movies. They have a little playground up front. Absolutely love this place. Gates open at 8pm.
The movies were kinda dark but they aren't normaly.
Love the drive in!
The theatre really needs to police its guests better
The movies were great and in good quality! Admission and concessions are very fairly priced! The grounds were clean and the employees were friendly.
Love going here! It feels like an event. Everyone is outside, sitting on lawn chairs or backs of trucks. Walking to the concession stand for some yummy snacks. So so so much fun.
Had a blast
I absolutely love this place. You don't have to butter your own popcorn which is oddly important to me. 11/10 would go again and again and again.
It is fun and enjoyable.
It's the only one in this area.
It's a great place to watch a movie with kids. They even have a playground so the kids can get the wiggles out before the movie.
It was AWESOME. ! It was very clean ! The prices were very cheap ! & the people were very friendly. I will go back again .
Best bang for your buck !! great prices on everything
Great people and service
A Family Favorite activity!
This is such a great place! Prices are reasonable and the snacks are so cheap. Everyone is friendly, and the movie selection is usually current.
Very nice turnout do the weather everybody was very friendly food was good
Just to find and see an actual drive in is amazing and something to see for those who remember them and those who never seen one! Great place to stop and worth the trip!
Excellent experience. Fun for the whole family. The mens bathroom needs to be updated though.
Would like to have some adult offerings, even if it is just once a month.
GREAT DRIVE IN MOVIE THEATER
Amazing sound and picture. They had good rest rooms and parking size spaces. They show good movies too.
Two movies for less than the other theaters Cheap prices but great quality. Not a place you get what you pay for. Good food great shows
Nostalgia abounds for us at a Good ole fashioned DRIVE IN!!!
Perfect place to reminisce about Route 66. Great family fun.
We love this as a family! So much fun! Great concession at great prices. The only thing is I wish there were designated smoking areas.
Great place to visit for a throw back
So many wonderful memories at this drive in!! Bringing the whole family won't break the bank and they have the best chili dogs in the area!
Can I give 10 stars? Great family night. Great movies, food, staff, pricing. Love this place.
Always a great experience for our family. We have lined up before and waited 2 hours before gates open as well as showed up at the time gates open and waited in line 45min to get in. It really depends on what is playing and the weather. It can be a great experience, but not for the impatient. If you're from the area you know there's a chance you'll get turned down as it will get sold out. We were the 451st car so the guy said. The concession stand is much more reasonably priced than any theatre I've been to and they have coffee!
My wife and I love 66 drive-in and have been going for years. However this season the movies have been mostly super hero, animated features, or some other type of feature geared towards children or teenagers. I realize that the owners want to have good family entertainment and that is super, but it would be nice if they offered more variety for people that don't have children. This season they have sometimes shown the same features two or three weekends in a row. We have yet to go this summer. Still waiting on a nice drama, comedy, true story or a nice uplifting movie. Anything other than cartoons or features for kids would be great. That being said, it is a great theater, very clean , and good food with friendly staff to help you enjoy your visit.
Best cheapest family time you could ask for!
Very nice! Would recommend 100%
We love coming to this place! It's awesome!
I had an amazing time with my family last night. The staff at the concession stand was polite and very fast in service. The mosquitos were almost non existant which was amazing as well. Can't wait to go back.
Love the drive in. Had a truck behind us running for 45 minutes ibto the movie, finally shut it off other than that great movies.
Great double features. $8 for adults, $4 for kids 6-12, 5 & under are free. Support the drive in. To many are being lost to the corporate multiplex theater.
Classic drive-in with good snacks & great prices for two movies!
I love the driver in
What a wonderful jump back in time for Me! And to share the new memories now with my daughter and 4 grandsons! What a treat for them and me!
Never been to one. It was a great experience. And will come back.
Great concessions and the people working are hot
Very awesome family friendly place. Always a great time!
Awesome experience, like stepping back in time, but with much sound quality, and great food.
Awesome experience
The only way to do cinnema
Super Safe Drive In with lots of Security from Local Police officers... Everyone enjoyed the Movies . Its clean Secure with lots of good food..Good clean family Movies its a ten star.
we love coming here but they really need to do something about the people that pull up in front of you and leave their hatch open
Need more drive inns like this one
Very nice place. Neat and clean.
Love going here!
Best place to go see a movie hands down
This is the most affordable way to go see a movie and just a really cool experience every time.
This is the best place to go see a double feature movies
I enjoyed the movies and everything was clean but the headache of the lines and rude people made it hard for me to want to go back. At least I can say I went to a drive in movie theater. I rather stay at home than deal with the headache of waiting and hoping we get a spot. It's also a bit of a drive for us so the travel isn't worth the trip if we can't make it inside. Would be nice if they sold tickets online or something.
Love this place.!! It's amazing that we can view today's features with our children as we did as kids with our parents. I've never had a less than stellar experience at 66 Drive-In Theatre.
Love this place! Extremely affordable for families!
Clean well kept and great movie experience. Great family environment.
Love going there. Reasonable priced. Great food and movies.
Very fun experience it gets a lot of people who come. The snack bar is reasonable. They have great selection of movies and double feature for $8 can't be beat but I feel the viewing experience is better in a movie theater. I can't wait to go back even with that said.
It was amazing. Spacious, clean, beautifully maintained. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The giant screen was perfect. No glitches with the film. Everything about our experience was amazing. Just go. You will love it too.
I can't stay awake for the duration of a movie to save my life, but that's no fault of the theater's. I enjoy bringing my kids and making memories. Safe environment, fair prices.
