You will see the opinions of real people who used the services and products of Cherry Bowl Drive-In Theatre (Movie Theater) near Michigan.
Nowadays this firm gets a score of 4.7 over 5 and that rating was based on 501 reviews.
As you can read, the average score it has is virtually the best one, and it's based on a very high number of scores, so we may say that the valuation is very faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they are pleased with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to set opinions when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Movie Theater belongs to the category of Drive-in movie theater.
Great prices on movies, food, and beverages. Mini golf & a playground.
Great drive-in theater. Old fashioned. Good price for 2 movies, and food is s decent price. It's best in a low vehicle do you don't get stuck in the back. Only open during traditional summer season.
Great place to watch movies and for family fun. Me and my family have been going there since the place opened a long time ago.
So many things to do there, putt put, playground and really good food too!!
Great place just very pricy food and drinks
Great place and great prices. Staff is friendly. Such a fun place for date night or family night. My favorite place to visit when we come to Michigan every summer. They never let us down! I highly recommend coming here!
We enjoy coming here on date nights! Good old fashioned fun
Fun for the family.
I love the Cherry Bowl, Ive been going there for decades!
It was an amazing experience! Get there early and have some food, play some putt putt and walk around. You get the movie experience (x2 since it's double feature!) But also perks of being at home like laughing and commenting without upsetting those around you. You can sit in your car, on top of your car, or even in chairs in front of your car. We will definitely be back!
Very unique movie experience. Definitely worth a trip as drive-ins aren't common anymore.
I loved going here ever since I moved up here. It's an amazing place for friends and family to get together and have fun. The only downside is that movies happen late at night so bring warm clothes, a blanket, and a chair. Enjoy the show!
Summertime fun in Northern Michigan! It's a "must do" if you're in the area. Family friendly! There's a snack shop that sells caramel apples, popcorn, etc. and there's a little playground. The kids loved this place. Bring your folding chairs and bug spray.
You MUST go one of the last drive-in theaters left, kid friendly movies, playground, mini golf, concession. Remember those old intermission cartoons and adverts? They play them all here along with hits from the 50s and 60s. Use the old window speaker or the FM radio for sound, they also updated the projector to digital. Two first run feature films shown, G rated and PG13 only. Show your kids or grandkids how you used to have fun before this era in American film is gone forever.
What a family fun place! Two movies for the price of one!
A blast from the past, and a great way to watch a couple of movies in a clean, family-friendly environment. We go to the area fairly often, but never visited until last night. Great place, well maintained, lots of WOW, I REMEMBER THAT!! factor. We actually had little interest in the movie running at the time last night, and left after an hour or so, but still very much felt the 20 bucks for 2 was well spent. DON'T MISS IT!
I have been taking my children to the cherry bowl drive in since 1996 and I look forward to going back every summer.
This little drive-in is like stepping back in time. It has an amazing selection of food, a play area for kids, mini golf, a pet area, and shows double features! It has the old-time radios but you can also tune in on your car’s radio. We came here because you can bring pets on leashes. The staff are amazing. They gave our doggies treats and jumped our car when it died. We would definitely go back. It’s great!
Great place for families or friends to hang out and watch a couple movies out side
It's a bit in the middle of nowhere but it is such a cool place. With the music and the nostalgic swag in the food bar, you get transported back to the 50s!
Great value for the $$$$, fun for the whole family. Will be making another trip soon. Thanks cherry bowl for a great night.
So much fun, like going back in time.
12 and under are free. Get there early if you want a decent spot.
Loved taking my daughter to something I enjoyed as a kid!
Best place to go for family fun.
I cannot get enough of this place or taking my kids here <3 I have loved it since I was a kid and I hope it's open for many years to come. The staff is very friendly and efficient and everything is reasonable prices, especially for the movies! The only complaint is the car mounds are being worn down after time and need to be built up a little again. But it won't stop is from going there ;) Love it!
Don't miss this one! A rare treat to experience a fun family event. Play on the playground, play a game of mini-golf, and much more.
Best experience. My family looks forward to this all year.
Classic drive in!!!! Trucks and vans have to park in the back, which kind of sucks, but helps all see. The management is responsive to problems, like people leaving their back gates up and blocking patrons behind them. Great overall value, $10 per adult and kids 12 and under are free. No outside food or drinks allowed (but many people seems to ignore that) Movies start around 10pm and there is a long intermission between. Expect to leave after 2 am. We try to go at least once a year
A true GEM. Run so well by a friendly and real staff of people. Great shape. I only wish it was near my Ohio home. 5 stars and thumbs up.
Screen was pretty dark
Wonderful place to take kids. Have been going there for almost 20yrs
Great place, great prices! Fun for the whole family!
Very nice experience loved being able to watch two movies for the price of one!! The food was good priced as well!
This place is a step back in to a time of simpler days when family time was valued !!Great family memories are made at this nostalgic theater. Very affordable if you have a large family with kids. Children under 12 are free, the snack bar has a great variety of food drinks and snacks . I would suggest bringing some throw blankets because it can get cold at night.
Its pretty much the same as it was 20 years ago. Good movies, plenty of kids around for mine to play with. Ive never not had a great time.
Time travel back to the 50's!
Such an awesome experience to have! The movie over just their speaker was a little quiet and we did not tune into the radio for sound but that was an option. The food prices were great and quality was good. I recommend for sure!
All-time Best Drive-in Theater!!! My family and I go at least once a summer sometimes several times. Fun put put golf, DELICIOUS food (good variety) very friendly staff. Playground for the kids to hang out in before the movie.
Classic drive in experience at a reasonable price.
Awesome time!
We had a great time.
Double feature films and smiling service. Always worth a visit if we are anywhere in the area visiting.
A staple to any solid vacation or staycation. Loved by tourists and locals alike. A great place to enjoy a family getaway.
I love watching movies on the big screen!
Summer fun at its best. Putt putt needs to be updated/maintained a little better, but you can't beat the concession prices. Love this place
Great movie
Kitchy, great memories with my kids here. A summer tradition for us. Great family movies.
One of the last standing theaters of an iconic time. You have to visit!
Love the 1950's experience.
They have a miniature golf course that you can spend some time at before the movie starts that's pretty great. Very cheap to participate in. They also have a small playground and a large field that you can use to play games in or just run around in before the movie starts. There's great sound and the screen has good quality for a drive in. Definitely recommend.
So much fun, have been going here for years, it's an amazing experience and wish drive inns were more common. The speakers weren't great so we had to also use our cars radio.
Excellent experience . Brought back many memories
clean restrooms, good food great location
Classic Drive-In, well worth a visit. They are open summer months and do to movies a night. Clean diner in the middle with cheap movie eats, malts, popcorn, cotton candy, etc. Bathrooms are clean too. There's a playground, putt-putt, and a radio station airing the movie as well.
I hope this place never shuts down! This is one of those hidden jems to experience in northern Michigan - there are not many drive in movie theaters left so support them when you can! It's worth the price of admission, and is such a cool place to go with family and friends. Thank you, Cherry Bowl, for staying open!
Nice, throwback. Cute but some areas falling into disrepair, ie mini golf.
How can you not love pulling into a drive-in theater from the past, watching 2 features from the present, but still paying like you're in the past! The condiments are very well priced as well and so much fun for the kids with the playground, and golf to keep them busy before the movie. Love this place!
If you haven't been here you are missing out on something amazing. 2 shows for your price. Plan on leaving around 2am though.
Awesome popcorn and great movies...grandkids loved it
Love the Cherry Bowl. The kids have a ton of fun and I can relax more knowing the young ones wont be as disruptive as in a theater. Only one complaint, this last trip they played the Snoopy Red Baron song for a two hour loop before the movie started. It got painful.
Family fun and you get 2 movies for the price of one. Biggest down side is that you have to wait until sundown to start the movies, which is near 9 in the summer. Leads to late nights so take a nap before and you are good to go.
So relaxing, memories that I will never forget.
Its like a time machine to the 50s
Has always been a great place to go watch a movie. This last time there was a small problem with the speaker. They also have the option of your car radio tuned to the proper station but the person I rode with has a weak battery so we didn't want to risk it. All in all, it was still a fun night. The food concession workers are always very kind and smiling. I do hear people say their prices are high but I personally don't think they're that bad compared to the movie theater concession plus they have a broad menu. I'll keep coming back.
Toy Story 4 was great on big screen. Great family fun
Great service. Will be back.
If you are in your 40's or 50's, I promise you, this will be a trip down memory lane. I felt like I had been transported back to my childhood. The old commercials during intermission. Child, adult and pet friendly. First run movies. You're going to love it.
Cool place to visit, rare gem from the past. Only problem is the speaker system is pretty poor do the only way to really hear the movie is to tune into the radio channel broadcasting the audio.
Great family-friendly place with lots of nostalgia and good food. A must see when in Northern Michigan
Who doesn't feel like a kid again going to this drive in for movies, feels like summer
Saw this place as we were passing through and had to stop. What a gem! Family fun and friendly place. Absolutely will have to make an effort to come out this way again. My children had a wonderful experience and made great memories here. Love that they have birthday "shout outs" and the whole place clapped and cheered for the little ones celebrating.
Great experience
Movie was good, food sure has gone downhill.
Great place to take the family and enjoy a nice outside movie. Concessions our a disaster tho same with bathrooms but the movie will make up for it.
First time going tonight and my kids loved it. Best $10 I ever spent. I drove 1.5hrs to come to this. Never knew it existed.. Will definitely come again.
This was one of the coolest places. What a wonderful family fun experience. $10 a person over the age of 12 for not one but two movies starting at dusk. Wonderful movie food & snacks from the diner and a fantastic show!! We will definitely be back when we're in the area again. Wish we had one of these near us.
Great reminder of how things use to be. Another Kool part of Honor, MI !
A staple of the community in bezie county
Although the sound is drive-in quality and the screen is drive-in dim, the drive-in vibe is unique and fun such that we've been coming back here each season for the past fifteen years. The Cherry Bowl shows first-run PG and PG-13 double feature movies so it's family friendly. Snacks are affordable ($4.50 buckets of popcorn, $2.50 chilie dogs, etc). The drive-in could use a bit of maintenance these days, but it's still fun.
I have been coming here sense I was a child and I can say with confidence that everyone that has grown up in this area can say that. Two movies for the price of less than one ticket at the local cinema is a great deal! Now I am taking my children there to create memories with them!
My only complaint is that the speakers are too quite. Could barely hear the entire lion king movie (we were outside in the bed of our truck.. but we had to hold the speaker up to our ear between us.) Otherwise.. price on everything is amazing, the experience is so fun for all ages!
Great fun for the family. like turning back time . I love that place . They keep it real with the concessions too. Real butter on the popcorn , not "ghetto butter".
Great prices. Fun experience.
Just great to have the experience
For the price of these movies, you think they'd put SOME effort into taking care of this place. I love to come here but it's nostalgia that drives me. Even a once over with a power washer would improve things. Don't even get me started on the mini golf course and the overall lack of the effort.
great price for 2 movies great snacks good family place.
Fun family friendly. We love going to the drive-In!
Always love this place as a go to during our summer vacation to this area.
Great staff, excellent service. The screen is nice size and the place is very organized. Good food options in the concession stand as well. Watched a double feature here with about 6 other people and had an absolute blast!
Great drive in, with a great value. Brought back childhood memories. Worth going to.
Only drive in in MI and has a 50's vibe and an experience like no other.
Great family friendly old school drive-in. Kids are free makes it affordable not to mention they show 2 movies. Cute & clean concession with great popcorn, snacks and food. Clean bathrooms. Enjoy!!! We sure did :)
Speakers have a lot of static, so you'll have to use your car radio. Snacks are good and super reasonable compared to movie theaters. The only problem is that the place is SWARMING with mosquitos. They really should spray, or something. Overall, great nostalgia.
Awesome experience for the whole family. They had a lot of stuff to do for the kids
Great family venue. Updated projector really helps keep this historical tradition relevant.
I live just up the road from the Cherry Bowl, and it's such a treat to have such a unique theater so close. I'm grateful they seem able to pick up new releases fairly quickly, and it's psychologically satisfying to get 2 movies for $10 (even though I have NEVER been able to make it through the second one considering the first one usually starts around 9). I understand their no rated R movie policy, but frankly I wish they'd loosen up a bit. I'm not saying they should be showing Wolf of Wallstreet or anything, but even if only the second movie was permitted to occasionally be rated R, I might pop down more often and make the effort to stay awake rather than watch them online.
Great place to take your kids. The movies are kid appropriate and they have great concessions and excellent prices. The movie does start after 10pm so make sure you or your kids can handle the late night. Clean bathrooms and portable toilets.
Love it here, nice family environment.
Pet friendly! Miniature golf, drive in movies... What could be better?
It was my first time there, and it was really fun. Love the old themed drive in. Awesome place to go if on vacation!
Great value! We are so lucky to have this in our area.
I love it, I come here every year
This is such a perfect spot! It's been around for 60 years, run by a big family and so many of their friends. You can tell by taking to any of the employees, they are sweet and kind. Honestly there's not a bad spot in the lot. You get 2 movies for the price of one ($10) and you can enjoy it from your own car seats or tailgate out the back. They have really tasty treats inside too. If you're not going to the Cherry Bowl at least once this summer, you're not living a proper northern Michigan summer.
was a fun experience the refreshment counter was a let down though 45 minutes into the first feature i was told they stopped serving pizza i could buy a premade frozen pizza used for selling slices at the same price as the fresh made 5 topping one the pre made slicer pizza was pepperoni and cheese i made the wrong choice and bought one it was awful i was disappointed. the movie experience otherwise was ok
One of the must do things if you come up to the Traverse city area. I recommend getting there early if you want a good spot. If you think your going to show up an hour before sunset on a weekend your going to be disappointed at what's available. It's just a 40 min drive give or take from downtown Traverse city. It was about $10.00 a person for two movies. Nothing over PG 13, put put golf is a great time killer. Get your snacks early as a line forms close to show time. Simple play park for the kids below the screen. Food price is reasonable.
Best drive in I have been to. Great family fun
Good place to visit again. Price is really good ..
A one of A kind Movie Theater up north and A theater You Will never forget Good food Too nice a place you got to see
We go every summer..
Amazing experience!
Great experience for the family
Kind staff, great qaulity picture. if there was 10 stars I would give 11.
Retro family fun. Wish I could stay awake for movie two.
Great service, classically good time, never disappointing. Love it!
Food could be a little cheaper!
Great experience and the kids loved it! Been there many times and will continue to go until I cant anymore.
Amazing Family orientated experience. Great prices for a family night out.
First time here a month ago & loved it. Very nice staff inside the stand & great atmosphere. Will be back for sure.
Best place in America to take the whole family to a family friendly movie
Fantastic nice drive in. Good selection at snack bar. Auburn consulting copier repair and sales
Great place to take your family! Totally worth the drive. Great prices. Have a cool miniature golf course for family fun before the show. Defiantly will become a summer yearly family tradition.
It's nice to have a drive-in to go to cuz it's totally incredibly awesome and man I really like driving in the to the drive-in theater that is so awesome
I have been coming to the cherry bowl as long as I can remember with my dad and now I bring my own children. Such an awesome place for a great experience for everyone. I recommend everyone check out the cherry bowl when you venture up that way.
Minus most vehicles are SUVs and make it hard to see movie from vehicle (we went up front with chairs), it was fun. Great food and pricing too.
Nice to have drive in
Was our first time there. It was amazing great place to visit defently worth the drive.
Best place to see a movie and have family time ♥️
Thank you Cherry Bowl! We always stop by when we are in the area! We love the step back in time, great food & delightful atmosphere with families & pets. We were impressed with the film quality of your first run movies & cartoons. We'll be back! Jim & Barbara Green
I always love to go there it's great the food and the golf the people love it you can tell
One of the oldest working drive in movie theaters. Complete with original car speakers. There is also FM audio if you dont want to use the speaker. The on site diner has your usual fare of movie junk food. The popcorn is drenched in delicious REAL butter.
It has a really nice building to get some quick, cheap, good-tasting food. The screen is big with lots of speakers so you can see and hear whats going on. There is a play place for kids and pets, dumpsters, and plenty of parking
Good movies, but avoid driving a bigger truck there as you have to park in the very back (which makes it very hard to see the screen, and have to listen to the movie via the old speaker system as the radio doesn't pick up the broadcast to be able to hear the movie as you are to far away from the transmitter).
Best place ever!
Old school drive in, so cool
Love the old school feel and setting! I always get chili cheese fries, caramel apple and cotton candy.. You can't beat 2 movies for $10!
This is the best experience you'll ever have this is the best Drive-In in the best family atmosphere you'll ever inquire in your life owners are awesome they'll make you feel like you don't want to leave the movie qualities are awesome the food is wonderful and the kids love going all the time been going 454 years long time bus place ever you've never lived till you gone to the Cherry Bowl Drive-In
Worth checking out if you’re staying in the area for a little nostalgic fun. Also a good reminder for why Drive thru movie theaters aren’t really a thing anymore.
Great for the kids and good old fashioned favorites foods. Movie starts at dusk
We love to camp here! Our son&his family also love it here! The kids have an awesome time every time! Every worker,is so very nice & helpful! The campground is so clean!
The people who work there are fantastic! Play area and putter golf for the kids. The classic theme and reasonable price is excellent! Thank you for a wonderful memory with my family! I really love that you don't show movies that would be inappropriate for children. Thanks again! We're planking on coming back and bringing more people with us.
Fans helped save this drive in. While I never went growing up, it's a tradition for my kids. I'm happy to have been a small part in keeping it going for (hopefully) generations to come. Great value, nostalgia, and fun!
Love this vintage-setup place. Fun place!
The best place to catch a late night movie, and you get to enjoy it in the comfort of your own car
Very clean, nice people.
One of the last outdoor movie screen around.
Love this place... great atmosphere
Great times here. Wish there was more drive-ins. It's just plain better than the theater.
Prices are awesome. The food is good and well priced and the experience is next to none. Not to mention the workers are all super nice and friendly. I can't say enough about how much I love this place.
So much fun! My daughter loves playing on the small playground they have. They also have a little putt putt course. The food isn't too bad. We usually order a whole pizza and it's not that expensive. They have a raffle nightly and you check the numbers on your ticket to see if you won things like food or souvenirs. Young kids are free and you get two movies so it's a great deal. Just fun to spend the night hanging out in the car with your family. I love it!
I have gone here at least once a summer for the past few years. Food and snacks are great and reasonably priced. Family friendly. Great customer service!
Great place to take the family. 2 movies for the price of 1 plus kids are free.
Check the weather before you go, as they play the movie rain or shine. The speakers there are bad, but the sound comes in crystal clear through the radio. Not a bad deal, but you'll be up past midnight if you want to see both movies. A great time, decently priced food, and a drive in worth it's price.
Kids loved it. Great time with the family
I loved going to the drive-in when I was a kid. So happy there is still one around to take my grandkids to.
Drive-ins are always fun for the kids.
A great place to go. They do a double feature, so you get 2 movies a night. Friendly staff. A great family atmosphere.
Absolutely fantastic place. Friendly courteous staff. Compared to other movie venues they are very affordable. Ticket prices are cheaper, concession prices are way cheaper than your traditional theater. Plus you get the comfort and convenience of supplying your own seating. I load the back of of the wagon up with bedding and fight to stay awake. My only criticism would be, they need some screen maintenance and to improve the mini golf, or replace it with a different attraction like new playground equipment. If your going to offer something it should be the best you have to offer. A little paint, wood, creativity and elbow grease could go a long way there. Fix those two things and it will be five star all the way.
