Amazing place to be at! Lots of innovative places and centres around. Offices of most big tech companies and lots of start ups are in this area. Many different cuisines available around. Free shuttle from this place to Cambridge side galleria mall for shopping. Knowledge, creativity and innovation in the air!

Damian FitzPatrick

Good for a movie.

Matthew McLaren

Nice theater. They tend to play smaller movies which aren't shown elsewhere. The entrance was very hard to get to during construction though and the seats were not very comfortable and tightly squeezed together.

Maddie Conway

Excellent theater, with high quality independent/foreign/wide release selections, friendly staff, convenient and affordable parking ($3.00 for 4 hours if you validate at the theater - dinner and a movie!), and great food options nearby. I love that they have hot tea at the concession stand. Highly recommended!

Excellent movies, especially documentaries. The director will sometimes speak at the end.

V ERA

Most comfortable, cozy theater I have ever been to. In theater 8 every single chair is reclining with foot rests!

Daniel Boyer

So-called "digital cinema" is junk and a complete betrayal of cinema.

Exterior and streets are currently under construction, but I appreciate the new recliners and updated theaters.

Lisa Love

Great, comfy seating. Good selection of movies and concessions.

MaryVictoriaO

The loveliest smell of popcorn hits you on the way in. Cute little bar in the lobby and comfortable seats!!!

Peter Squires

Excellent movie selection.

I love that Boston has so many independent theaters, and this is one of the best. They renovated in the past few years and now have large leather recliners. Their ticket prices and concessions are more reasonably priced than the big chains and the quality of food is much higher! The employees are all friendly and knowledgeable. My only complaint is that you cannot reserve seats, which is annoying once you are used to being able to do it at other theaters.

Steve Mathieu

Great theatre, comfy seats and they serve beer.

JOHN MOHAMMED RACHID PAYNE

Very new refurbished. Great socilly conscious films ..a little expensive..senior rate negligible. Good parking. Nice staff.

Love the renovations here!! The seats are so comfy and they even recline. Online ticketing and the self-service kiosks in the lobby make it so you really never have to wait in line. This theater isn't cheap, but it's a top notch venue that's actually worth paying money for to see a movie. Food selection is meh, but they've got a nice beer list. Tip: the garage normally costs around $20, but don't let that scare you. It's only $3 if you validate your ticket before leaving the theater!

E. V.

Movie selection is great. They have some good stuff you won't find downtown. Good seats and they didn't pack them in so plenty of leg room. And a quality selection at the bar.

Ren Main

Comfortable theater with reclining seats. I wish they had foot rests, too, but they're still comfy. It's kind of odd that the bathrooms are on the second floor seemingly far away from the theaters, so make sure you go ahead of time

Janis McQuarrie

Fantastic theater with many independent films as well. Accessible by T.

Nicely renovated and great movie selection

Myra Little-Porter

Nice big screen and comfortable seats, though they don't recline like in some theaters. Wish you could reserve seats. We weren't able to find even 2 together and we were early.

Deb Pierce

Easy parking. Comfy reclining seats! Good popcorn. Good movie. Formula for a great night out!

Julie's bites

Great unique movies. Good seats but not reserved sitting which I prefer so I can move if the neighbors are noisy.

Jennifer Pewtherer

Really comfy seats and great beer selection

Roe Blum

Wonderful selection of movies. Often show artsy movies (in addition to mainstream movies) not available at other theaters. Large theater/ comfy seats; cheap parking with valadion

Marty Glassman

Small but comfortable, we went at 3:40pm on a Wednesday so very off-peak. Watched out Erased Screen 8, tiny room but reclining chairs! Due to construction bit hard to find entrance, and not the cheapest for "bargain tickets" ($11). Great experience :)

Elizabeth Caruso

We see most of the films we watch at this cinema. The reclining seats are comfortable and wide, but I find the head cushion pushes my head forward more than I'd like. The sight lines are great, though. Most times the staff are pleasant and well coordinated. Occasionally, the person taking tickets could manage lines more effectively. The films shown are always in good condition and well curated. Parking is convenient and inexpensive with the self-validation provided in the lobby. Matinee prices are a bargain, especially compared to other big chains that charge more than $20 for similar amenities. I like an independent theater, and Kendall's Landmark ticks all the boxes.

Domenic Campochiaro

Great arthouse movie theater for watching foreign and independent films

Michael Angelo

Super comfortable seating. Parking is in the garage. The pricing is fair.

John Hajinlian

Great place. Clean and comfortable. Easy and inexpensive parking. Wonderful selection of movies. Very good projection and sound system. You won't be disappointed.

Brendon Davis

I like it a lot. It's upscale, quite clean, and the reclining seats are awesome. It also hosts some smaller-budget films that are totally worth going to the theater for alone. Naturally, in typical theater fashion, food is horrendously overpriced but in general, it's a great experience.

Bin Guo

Super comfy recliners! Loved it!

Nancy Erdmann

Great films. Fair prices. Hugely convenient and low-priced attached parking garage. For all of that: five stars. Decor and snacks need an update to make the cinema even better. Lobby seating is uncomfortable. What about one or two theaters getting better chairs?

Brett Woofter

positively solid - the staff had me ticketed and popcorned up in mere moments - I was really struck by the very fast service I received, they were very on the ball. I'm okay if a theater doesn't have the armrests that pull up, but I could clearly hear action movie booms from the adjacent theater during the quiet expository scenes in my film (I was in theater #3). Without that, five stars

Imani William

My favorite theater and one of my favorite places in the area. I’ve enjoyed every movie I’ve seen here, the selection is fantastic. Also, if you eat at one of the nearby restaurants on the plaza, you can get reduced priced tickets at the theater.

Vicki Muse

Excellent venue and selection of films. Dress warm in winter if going during non busy times heating not sufficient else I would have given five stars.

Frank Velasquez

Whether you're driving or taking the T this theatre is easy to get to for any commuter. There is a validation kiosk in the theatre for discounted parking for movie goers. They serve alcohol but it's a one drink limit per customer at the time of purchase. You can go back and buy more if you feel the need to. Concessions are typical movie concessions (popcorn, candy, soda, nachos etc.). This theatre is great for independent films and well as hollywood blockbusters. I would recommend this theatre to all movie goers who seek deeper entertainment.

If you're interested in movies beyond the multiplex, in Cambridge, this is your place. Don't forget to get your ticket stamped for a parking discount. Several eating choices right nearby.

Matthew McLaren

Nice theater. They tend to play smaller movies which aren't shown elsewhere. The entrance was very hard to get to during construction though and the seats were not very comfortable and tightly squeezed together.

Lei Q

Clean theaters. Comfortable seats. Courteous services. Validated parking.

Rigs 83

My favorite theater. It gas a bar, aaaigned power reclining seats and is right next to the Fenway green line stop. I just wish it was IMAX

Nathan Davis

Saw Cornel West here a couple years ago. We watched a Woody Allen movie. Not his best, but I was curious about Mr. West's opinion of the film. You never know who you're going to run into

Deb Pierce

Easy parking. Comfy reclining seats! Good popcorn. Good movie. Formula for a great night out!

Damian FitzPatrick

Good for a movie.

M. Ryan Groff

I really appreciate Kendall Sqr currating a diverse and cultured assortment of films for the greater Boston area, especially when so many theatres only serve up pop-movie fare. Great lobby beverage service, and popcorn was also great. Some theatre rooms are a stroll from the main lobby, and restrooms on 2nd floor (w/ elevator option). Nothing critical, just FYI for kids or those with mobility needs.

Chase Richardson

A little stinky and currently under renovation. Kinda hard to find, but a good place. Seats aren't great, but indie movie selection is usually good.

Solomon Martinez

Clean, friendly staff, comfortable seating. Screen in theater 8 was a little small but overall great first time experience!

Miriam Weil

Comfortable seats, lots of parking! Saw Brittany runs a Marathon. Nice film.

Raman Solanki

It is an amazing theatre. Perfect for people in wheelchairs. The food items were good plus they also serve alcohol. A perfect combination of everything. The staff is very polite. Though they are working on a building in the vicinity; the entrance is through the garage.

Brett Woofter

Ginnette Powell

Great theatre really stepped up their game! I love the food selection, adult beverages. This theatre looks ready for a premier since the new renovations!

Hamza Malik

The movie was phenomenal, the cinema was okay I guess, not to my liking... No waiting area to chill before the movie except for the small bar. The bathroom for some reason is on the second floor, while the theaters are on the first floor, that seemed odd! It was the only theatre that was viewing Capernaum, so it was more than worth it to visit it!

shamanth jilla

Such a convenient location. And it allows to book e-tickets via moviepass. They have found a loyal customer in me.

Amy Lee Jarvis

Favorite place to see a film in this area! Renovations are looking great!

George Touloumes

Michael Shook

Very comfortable. We saw Amazing Grace. Kind of expensive for us small town folks but you know, bright lights, big city.

Michael Hu

Excellent seats after the remodeling. Great popcorn. Has Moviepass e-ticketing which is a huge plus.

charles crump

Very nice place to enjoy any movie in peace. Great place.

Camila Obniski

Best movie selection in the Boston-Cambridge area.

Girish Vasudevan

Great experience, lovely seats and good sound quality.

allegra amos

It looked amazing though it was under renovation. Loved that it had a bathroom upstairs which was very clean. Cant wait to come back. Plus, the seats reclined

Robert Fleischer

Recliner seats apparently not reserved in advance

Ren Main

Comfortable theater with reclining seats. I wish they had foot rests, too, but they're still comfy. It's kind of odd that the bathrooms are on the second floor seemingly far away from the theaters, so make sure you go ahead of time

Wayne Geiser

With the construction, it is a little tricky to get to. The seats were very comfortable. Ticket prices are higher than I am used to in the suburbs, but validated parking made the cost of parking VERY reasonable ... especially considering that we arrived early and had drinks at the brewery nearby and dinner with friends.

Roe Blum

Wonderful selection of movies. Often show artsy movies (in addition to mainstream movies) not available at other theaters. Large theater/ comfy seats; cheap parking with valadion

V ERA

Most comfortable, cozy theater I have ever been to. In theater 8 every single chair is reclining with foot rests!

Michael Angelo

Super comfortable seating. Parking is in the garage. The pricing is fair.

Arthur Safira

I have some great memories here, I definitely recommend coming sometime. Not much in the way of being especially more than other theaters, but I still enjoyed it. The prices aren't that bad, and the location + food choices nearby aren't bad.

Sam Chalfin

Nice place. Comfortable seats.

Julie's bites

Great unique movies. Good seats but not reserved sitting which I prefer so I can move if the neighbors are noisy.

Landmark is a great theater co., specializing in independent & foreign film. With cheap validated parking (otherwise it's the opposite of cheap) right in Cambridge, across from some good restaurants & bars for before or after, this is a great, easy, relaxing way to see a movie. Some of the staff can seem a little miserable at times, but the ticket sellers always greet you with a bright smile.

Sarah Baszto

This slightly out of the way theater has affordable prices, flavorful and fresh popcorn, and interesting snack bar variety with many local offerings. Oh yeah and craft beer! The movies are a mix of mainstream and indie. There are also special events with director Q & As from time to time. International films can also be found here. Today I caught an Irish film of perspectives interwoven called Lost & Found. The theater is clean, service is prompt, and the blue automatic reclining seats are so comfy. Definitely check out this gem of an indie theater!

Vicki Muse

Excellent venue and selection of films. Dress warm in winter if going during non busy times heating not sufficient else I would have given five stars.

David Lyon & Patricia Harris

Awkward to enter on foot but nice enough inside

Nathan Wright

This theater is a good place to catch up on independant movies. Although the theaters I've seen things in are not stadium, the seats are comfortable, and the picture and sound quality tend to be good. I do like that they keep films around longer than the other independent theaters here and often have titles that don't come to competitors.

henry goldfarb

Great place to see a movie! They have good prices on food compared to the average Cinema and decent beers. Also there is a barbecue restaurant and pool hall and a few other places to eat right near by.

B Moosic

Best cinema around!

Patricia Jibben

I don’t know what this place has against carbonated water but they have issues that cut deep. Several months ago I went and wanted soda water with my popcorn. The server informed me that I’ll have to pay the same price for the soda water as I would for a soda (with syrup) I said okay, with absolutely no reservations about it. I am happy to pay for carbon gas being injected into my water. She gets my popcorn and then asks again what drink I want and I repeat soda water and she almost has a cow! She jerked around and exclaimed, impatiently, “I’m going to HAVE to charge you full price for this water.” Having stated soda water twice I respond with, “why the hell do you care that I pay for soda water? I know what I want, why can’t I have the soda water?” She was taken aback and said I could have it and didn’t gripe about it to me anymore. Now this time, a few weeks ago, I go back and they no longer serve soda water. I think it was the same crazy lady who served me before but I’m not entirely positive. I bought a large soda cup and filled it with tap water from the drinking fountain. I like carbonated water. The carbon adds a sharp note to the taste. I do not drink soda and I don’t understand, if they have the technology to provide soda water, why they refuse. Neither do I understand that crazy servers exasperation at me ordering soda water. Strange place. The theater is okay but I’m going to go to places that offer drinks that I like.

Heverton Dutra

The seats are really comfortable and you can have beers.

Craig Himmelberger

Seating is decent, but screens and projection still could use a boost.

Beau Cote

Not very busy but also a Thursday night. Movie selection was good. No line at the ticket counter. No line at food. All staff was friendly! Theaters were a good size but not huge. I hate being in a theater of 200+ people and these were less than 50. Chairs recline but I still prefer regals chairs as these didn't kick your legs up and I was always struggling to find a good position. 4/5 will go back.

Tafsia S

Small but comfortable, we went at 3:40pm on a Wednesday so very off-peak. Watched out Erased Screen 8, tiny room but reclining chairs! Due to construction bit hard to find entrance, and not the cheapest for "bargain tickets" ($11). Great experience :)

Maija Alksnitis

Comfy seats, interesting movie selection.

Sadie

Best theatre experience in a while

Ken Moraff

Excellent movies, especially documentaries. The director will sometimes speak at the end.

Gwen Edgar

The theatre is very clean, has the most comfy chair, and an interesting movie selection. There is a large garage and lots of food choices right across the street. A wonderful theatre overall.

Sohan Dsouza

It's my go-to theatre. And not just because of the proximity. No brainless junk cinema here -- they run a wide selection of quality films from all over the world. It's especially good during Oscar season. I've become a bit of a cinephile after I started patronizing this place. Also, good concessions, extremely comfortable seating, accessible location, and a cluster of good restaurants and pubs at One Kendall Square nearby, if you want to grab some F&B before, after, or between films.

Nicole Hanafin

It's been awhile since I have visited here. The signs made it a little easier to find the place amid all the construction. The selection of beer was pretty good too.

Alesia SelbyFlemming

Great at house cinema, offering the best in award winning films. Serves regular theater fare along with beer (I think it has the good stuff) and wine (including sparkling!l. Attached parking structure, validated for lower parking fees. Seats are lux and lay back but no foot rest.

Alejandro Miranda

They have biggie iggies

Tim Steis

Pretty average. Comfy chairs, you can adjust the backs but not the legs.

Michael Heaton

This has to be one of the most architecturally unique movie houses in the country. It has no facade at all. It can only be approached from within a parking garage. I have been here several times over the years and it was often to see movies that were just not screening anywhere else. 'Bend it like Beckham' comes to mind.

Steve Mathieu

Great theatre, comfy seats and they serve beer.

Carol Carveth

No alcohol (yet?), but they do have some sweets/baked goods, pop and popcorn, and a good selection of independent films. The bathrooms are upstairs and not very large, so send someone to get concessions who doesn't need to go and go before you head in to the movie. They have an economy combo with a tiny amount of popcorn and a small soda, which I like.

Patrina Huff

Great theater with great offerings. In my time, there was a bit of a walk to the T.

Avis Jackson

Awesome reclining chairs, easy view of screen.

Chiahao Tsui

Nice theater. Awesome and comfortable chairs. You can also get alcohol at the bar.

David Alfonso

This is my go to theater. They have a great selection of indie movies. The environment is nice inside and out. It feels like a hidden gem. It's the type of place you would enjoy going to by yourself, or the type of place you could make a tradition of going to with someone close.

Patrick Tai

Best cinema house on Cambridge, yeh, any where. Construction is completed enough to ease the entrance difficulties. Most of the movies I watch are shown there.

Honey Langley

Great indie films here

P

Great seats..coffee refills free

Johanna Meyer

With the construction, it feels like a secret entrance. A good Escape from the seasonal chaos for real entertainment.

Jake Green

Landmark always has movies I can't find anywhere else in the city. They have a clean and comfortable theater with a great variety of snack and drinks. Very

Jon Williams

With the new seats and bar service installed this is a fantastic place to see a movie. The only drawback currently is the construction going on next door which causes everyone to enter through the parking garage. A temporary problem but a bit annoying.

Shira Frager

Once we found the place it was a lovely experience. Difficult to find due to construction work and closed sidewalks

bob vincent

Great indy movies. We even got a q and a with the director after the film.

Deborah Fairbanks

All the best films are shown here! I wish they could have a bargain night... (but they don't), for us fixed income people...

Pamela Sorrell

Great seats, great popcorn and very comfortable

Tracey-Ann Daley

Hadn’t been here in years and the construction threw me off a bit. Got to my theater to see The Favorite and saw a few mice scatter...almost walked out.

Will Miller

Nice theater. Convenient parking. Comfortable chairs.

Jeri Cinnamon

This is a great movie theater. It's big and clean. Keep in mind that snacks are movie theater snacks - so they're going to be overpriced. They may not get a lot of huge blockbusters in, but they show a lot of great indie stuff and art pieces that you can't see in more mainstream theaters. They have self-service kiosks to buy tickets, which is nice because it reduces time spent waiting in line.

Kristin S.

I love that Boston has so many independent theaters, and this is one of the best. They renovated in the past few years and now have large leather recliners. Nicely renovated and great movie selection

Bernadette Houldsworth

Not sure why someone complained about cost of parking. You can park right next door, get your ticket validated in the theater and pay just a few dollars. At least this had always been the case, I'll find out if it still is when I go this afternoon! We travel in from the burbs to see movies not on show anywhere else.

Ajit Vyas

Nice independent theater just north of Kendall Square. Standard theaters with regular seats, although the arm rests are fixed which can be annoying. They tend to show indie films, documentaries, and more avant garde fare.

agebomb83

Comfy seats, decent price for parking. Under a lot of construction so it looks NOTHING like the photo and would be difficult to find for a tourist without GPS. Thanks to Google, you should have no problem so enjoy a nice place like Kendall!

Jenny Moyryla

Exterior and streets are currently under construction, but I appreciate the new recliners and updated theaters.

Luis Heredia

Very cool place I don't think alot of people know about, but they should. Excellent theater condition but more important is their selection of independent films that aren't normally shown in regular theaters. Keep up the good work.

Caty V

Nice and quiet and super comfy seats! The popcorn wasn't my fav but the staff is super friendly :)

Sam Ou

Nice, comfortable, reclining seats, a wonderful selection of independent films, good popcorn, and a cheap, adjoining parking garage for your vehicle. What more could you ask for?

Wissam Jawhari

Very nice theater, super comfy leather and adjustable seats (more like couches) and you can find award nominated, foriegn films that you find anywhere else in that area! Capernaum is one of those movies that Ive been waiting to watch for sometime now! Highly recommended!

Santiago Benavides

Love this place! They have a great selection of indie/foreign/etc films that are all worth seeing but hard to find in a regular cinema. And on top of this, they also show some more "mainstream" movies that are of quality, so you get the best of both worlds -- numbing pleasure and intellectual stimulation. Finally, their food is good and they have fancy recliner seats in the theaters :).

jean Eddy moïse

Nice theater . very organized and welcoming but small

Hector Tirado

Employees are friendly, theatre is very clean, seats are comfortable recliners, restroom are very clean. Awesome theatre. Two

GMX GMX

GREAT selection of movies not in the mainstream. Last time there I saw - Antonio Lopez 1970: Sex Fashion & Disco. The staff are friendly and helpful. Theaters - nice and clean. Seats - super comfy and there's plenty of leg room (I'm tall). Projection and Sound - Brilliant. Restrooms - spotless. It's a bit set back and hard to find - BUT - validated parking in the adjoining garage! (With clear signs to the theater). A definite Gem!

Mike Del Rosso

Where all the smaht kedz go to watch fahkin' flix

Eric S. Johansson

This movie theater with very comfortable seats. Be careful it's really easy to fall asleep

Bryce Taylor

I love this theater. They get a lot of interesting smaller movies. Also if you'd like to see a movie made anywhere other than the US, this is your place.

Michael Kazin

Great seats, far better movies and atmosphere than the common Lowes. And if you're driving, $3.00 validated parking in the attached garage helps stretch your entertainment budget. Or use it to pay for the wine or beer you can have with your movie.

Donal Waide

Good movie art house.

Jess Pfeffer

Great theater, recently renovated. Snacks a bit expensive but they validate parking ($4!).

James Morgan

Eclectic in the area doesn't get better than this (otherwise a bit small and pokey but they did just replace all the seats). Not given up for Biotech space yet - we can but hope.

Othman Shehu Yakubu

Just the nicest customer service you could want

Neil Blain

Nice comfortable seats.

Imani William

My favorite theater and one of my favorite places in the area. I’ve enjoyed every movie I’ve seen here, the selection is fantastic. Also, if you eat at one of the nearby restaurants on the plaza, you can get reduced priced tickets at the theater.

Jennifer Pewtherer

Really comfy seats and great beer selection

Wesley Tansey

Super comfy recliners! Loved it!

Larry Tish

Go out to the movies! Support the arts! Support culture! Laugh and feel with your fellow humans! Leave the roost! The Kendall Cinema is one of Cambridge's great treasures, so take advantage of it.

Maximilian Halus

A nice venue for films that have smaller distribution. Just avoid buying wine here, it is a total ripoff. Also the way construction has impeded entry is a bit frustrating, and can be confusing. You enter through the garage next door.

Elizabeth Feng

Great place to find indie films, tickets are pretty good if you go on Sunday morning

Ralph Manecke

Great alternative theater. Very creative and clean.

Joshua Rosen

We've been coming here for years whenever we want to see an art film or foriegn movie. It's a modern. Theater vs the standard art house which is usually a decripit old theater. They've replaced the seats with the new comfy chairs that theaters have been adding lately but they still have open seating which we prefer. Binney street is completely torn up so the garage entrance is now down the street.

Behnam Sattar

I love this place. They always have great critically acclaimed movies for those who enjoy cinema as art and not just entertainment. I really love the atmosphere and have seen great movies there. Parking is also convenient with lots of free spaces.

jianjun0

The theater upgraded all seats that is very spacious, conformable, and adjustable back sides. Much better than before

Dave Vendetti

This theater only plays weird movies I've never heard of.

Robert Chmielinski

Great independent movies. Reclining seats!

Domenic Campochiaro

Great arthouse movie theater for watching foreign and independent films

Lisa Love

Great, comfy seating. Good selection of movies and concessions.

doug mayo-wells

Shows smaller first-run studio releases. Recently upgraded, with fancy new seats, wine and local beer and cider at concessions. Open even if the construction makes it look like it's not. The marquee is not updated, so go on line to see what's playing.

Jennifer Kelly

Comfy seats, they serve alcohol now, but super over priced. Sneak your own in your bag. Servers were kind of dicks.

Brian Cepeda

Nice and clean idependent movie theater. Staff is great and easy parking for this location.

Nancy Erdmann

Great films. Fair prices. Hugely convenient and low-priced attached parking garage. For all of that: five stars. Decor and snacks need an update to make the cinema even better. Lobby seating is uncomfortable. What about one or two theaters getting better chairs?

Cleola Payne

Love the location of the theatre, its close to home and they have a great arsenal of movies. They also have great tasting popcorn actually popped fresh and a selection of healthier snack options. There's a parking lot right next to the place, so there's no hassle of finding a space.

Regina Valeriano

Nice theatre with awesome seats. A Cambridge hidden gem.

Arthur Safira

I have some great memories here, I definitely recommend coming sometime. Not much in the way of being especially more than other theaters, but I still enjoyed it. The prices aren't that bad, and the location + food choices nearby aren't bad.

Lots of artsy fartsy movies that you can’t find at a typical theatre. Solid beer selection and comfy chairs - would recommend.

Great independent movies. Reclining seats!

Bryce Taylor

I love this theater. They get a lot of interesting smaller movies. Also if you'd like to see a movie made anywhere other than the US, this is your place.

Judy Wollen

The theater is nice, if expensive. I would have given it 5 stars...but it costs almost $25 just to park for a movie. So, two tickets plus parking for a 4PM movie was $50.

bob vincent

Great indy movies. We even got a q and a with the director after the film.

For Fans of Joni Mitchell. This was a MUST DO! The film was broadcast to select theaters across the country for Joni Mitchell's 75th Birthday Bash. The event took place at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in LA & was filmed for a future theatrical release. Joni wrote so many iconic songs including Big Yellow Taxi ( Don't It Always Seem to Go That You Don't Know What You've Got Till It's Gone, Pave Paradise Put Up a Parking Lot). That song is more relevant now than when it first came out in 1970. Lots of Joni's friends & fellow musicians were on hand singing their interpretation of Joni's legendary songs. Some of the artists were Brandi Carlisle,Glen Hansard, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Chaka Khan, Diana Krall, Kris Kristopherson, ,Los Lobos with LA Maisoul, Cesar Castro, Xochi Flowers, Graham Nash, James Taylor, Seal, Rufus Wainright. What a great evening to see & hear all this FANTASTIC MUSIC. What a great tribute & Fun Night at the Movies. It used to be, you had to have mega bucks & be really rich to have the Good Life, not anymore. The Game has changed. You've been Upgraded. Now You Can Live Like a King on a Limited Budget!

This cinema is know for showing a well curated selection of films from art film and other well crafted movies. The big summer block busters is not seen on the screen.

Eclectic in the area doesn't get better than this (otherwise a bit small and pokey but they did just replace all the seats). Not given up for Biotech space yet - we can but hope.

Shira Frager

Once we found the place it was a lovely experience. Difficult to find due to construction work and closed sidewalks

Tracey-Ann Daley

Hadn’t been here in years and the construction threw me off a bit. Got to my theater to see The Favorite and saw a few mice scatter...almost walked out.

Bob Geller

A wonderful theater... beautiful remodeling job. Theaters and seats are extremely comfortable. Counter has good food options..try to the chicken..it's great.

Nice theater . very organized and welcoming but small

agebomb83

Comfy seats, decent price for parking. Under a lot of construction so it looks NOTHING like the photo and would be difficult to find for a tourist without GPS. Thanks to Google, you should have no problem so enjoy a nice place like Kendall!

Michael Grass

A great place to go see great movies before they get Oscar buzz and end up showing in every other theater 3 - 6 months later.

Jim Hill

Nice independant movie theater. Unfortunately major construction going on.

Ralph Manecke

Great alternative theater. Very creative and clean.

Ajit Vyas

Nice independent theater just north of Kendall Square. Standard theaters with regular seats, although the arm rests are fixed which can be annoying. They tend to show indie films, documentaries, and more avant garde fare.

Brian Cepeda

Nice and clean idependent movie theater. Staff is great and easy parking for this location.

Frederick Rockett

The movie selection is the best in the Boston area; it's clean, the building is attractive, and the staff is pleasant. The prices are cheaper than Loews and the clientele is more polite. Finally, at Loews you're forced to watch 20 minutes of ads before the movie starts, something I resent. I love Kendall Square Cinema. Oh, and there's parking.

The theater upgraded all seats that is very spacious, conformable, and adjustable back sides. Much better than before

Patrina Huff

Great theater with great offerings. In my time, there was a bit of a walk to the T.

Kent Werth

Several of the screening rooms have reclining lounge-type seats. Parking cost $3 with a validation. Very convenient.

This is one of our favorite cinemas in the Boston area. It shows many of the best independent films, essentially as soon as they are released. As I recall there are about 8 screens, thus providing a lot of good choice. The theatre is a little tired now, but the quality and selection of films are first-rate.

Nathan Davis

Saw Cornel West here a couple years ago. We watched a Woody Allen movie. Not his best, but I was curious about Mr. West's opinion of the film. You never know who you're going to run into

Ayanna Clark

I'm pleased with the renovation having not visited this location in quite a few years. The recliners are clean and comfy but it didn't seem like there are any footrests. I didn't partake in any of the concessions but beer and wine are available in addition to the standard fare. If you do like a beer with your movie, take note that the bathrooms are on the second floor. I noticed muffled sound leaking from other theaters during quiet parts in the movie I was watching but other than that I had a very enjoyable movie-going experience. Patrons are directed to enter the theater through the garage due to construction nearby - just follow the signs when you arrive.

Best cinema around!

Patrick Tai

Best cinema house on Cambridge, yeh, any where. Construction is completed enough to ease the entrance difficulties. Most of the movies I watch are shown there.

Neeraj Kumar

Great selection of movies! Comfy seats!

Michael Schmidt

Great theater for seeing some of the artsier movies that other theaters don't show. Really clean, good sound and picture. A bit pricey, but I guess that comes with the area. Only real complaint is the seats, kinda hurt my neck even with it fully reclined. Wow that's a 2018 problem if I ever heard one.

Great place to see a movie! They have good prices on food compared to the average Cinema and decent beers. Also there is a barbecue restaurant and pool hall and a few other places to eat right near by.

Best movie selection in the Boston-Cambridge area.

Sam Ou

Nice, comfortable, reclining seats, a wonderful selection of independent films, good popcorn, and a cheap, adjoining parking garage for your vehicle. What more could you ask for?

Omar Wahid

This is a great theater. They tend to have movies that may not be at other theaters in the area, their prices are reasonable (something that has been getting more and more rare in movie theaters), and the building is generally quite clean. Friendly staff and validated parking for the garage too.

We have been loyal fans of Kendall Square Cinema ever since its opening and love the new seats, carpets, and total digital theaters. We'll be glad when the construction next door is over and the noises have ended. Great place to see the best films surrounded by an audience of film buffs. Love it!

Nice theater. Convenient parking. Comfortable chairs.

Maria Monteiro

Love the validation on garage parking..... it made it all a perfect evening.... and i appreciate how clean the theater was and very comfy seats!!!

Maximilian Halus

A nice venue for films that have smaller distribution. Just avoid buying wine here, it is a total ripoff. Also the way construction has impeded entry is a bit frustrating, and can be confusing. You enter through the garage next door.

Regina Valeriano

Nice theatre with awesome seats. A Cambridge hidden gem.

Othman Shehu Yakubu

Just the nicest customer service you could want

Ginnette Powell

Great theatre really stepped up their game! I love the food selection, adult beverages. This theatre looks ready for a premier since the new renovations!

Rigs 83

My favorite theater. It gas a bar, aaaigned power reclining seats and is right next to the Fenway green line stop. I just wish it was IMAX

David Lyon & Patricia Harris

Awkward to enter on foot but nice enough inside

Solomon Martinez

Clean, friendly staff, comfortable seating. Screen in theater 8 was a little small but overall great first time experience!

Sam Chalfin

Nice place. Comfortable seats.

Elinor McNair

The seats are really comfortable and you can have beers.

Jennifer Kelly

Comfy seats, they serve alcohol now, but super over priced. Sneak your own in your bag. Servers were kind of dicks.

Lei Q

Clean theaters. Comfortable seats. Courteous services. Validated parking.

Tim Steis

Pretty average. Comfy chairs, you can adjust the backs but not the legs.

Girish Vasudevan

Great experience, lovely seats and good sound quality.

Michael Hu

Excellent seats after the remodeling. Great popcorn. Has Moviepass e-ticketing which is a huge plus.

doug mayo-wells

Shows smaller first-run studio releases. Recently upgraded, with fancy new seats, wine and local beer and cider at concessions. Open even if the construction makes it look like it's not. The marquee is not updated, so go on line to see what's playing.

Michael Kazin

Great seats, far better movies and atmosphere than the common Lowes. And if you're driving, $3.00 validated parking in the attached garage helps stretch your entertainment budget. Or use it to pay for the wine or beer you can have with your movie.

Nicole Hanafin

It's been awhile since I have visited here. The signs made it a little easier to find the place amid all the construction. The selection of beer was pretty good too.

Raman Solanki

It is an amazing theatre. Perfect for people in wheelchairs. The food items were good plus they also serve alcohol. A perfect combination of everything. The staff is very polite. Though they are working on a building in the vicinity; the entrance is through the garage.

Craig Himmelberger

Seating is decent, but screens and projection still could use a boost.

Maija Alksnitis

Comfy seats, interesting movie selection.

Avis Jackson

Awesome reclining chairs, easy view of screen.

Amy Lee Jarvis

Favorite place to see a film in this area! Renovations are looking great!

allegra amos

It looked amazing though it was under renovation. Loved that it had a bathroom upstairs which was very clean. Cant wait to come back. Plus, the seats reclined

Daniel Callahan

Great experience. Even with all the construction around, it's super easy to get to and enjoy a movie at.

Cleola Payne

Love the location of the theatre, its close to home and they have a great arsenal of movies. They also have great tasting popcorn actually popped fresh and a selection of healthier snack options. There's a parking lot right next to the place, so there's no hassle of finding a space.

Jon Williams

With the new seats and bar service installed this is a fantastic place to see a movie. The only drawback currently is the construction going on next door which causes everyone to enter through the parking garage. A temporary problem but a bit annoying.

Behnam Sattar

I love this place. They always have great critically acclaimed movies for those who enjoy cinema as art and not just entertainment. I really love the atmosphere and have seen great movies there. Parking is also convenient with lots of free spaces.

Marilyn Levin

I've been happily going to see films here since it opened in 1995. Then they redecorated and installed new seats. For a short woman under 5', they are extremely uncomfortable. I literally have to sit forward at the edge of my seat with no back support or else I am almost laying down with my feet extended above the floor. The neck support hits me in the head. I am so angry when designers don't test their products with people of all different sizes. I'm giving the theatre two stars, instead of one, because they do show great films. Marilyn

Michael Shook

Very comfortable. We saw Amazing Grace. Kind of expensive for us small town folks but you know, bright lights, big city.

David Alfonso

This is my go to theater. They have a great selection of indie movies. The environment is nice inside and out. It feels like a hidden gem. It's the type of place you would enjoy going to by yourself, or the type of place you could make a tradition of going to with someone close.

Wissam Jawhari

Very nice theater, super comfy leather and adjustable seats (more like couches) and you can find award nominated, foriegn films that you find anywhere else in that area! Capernaum is one of those movies that Ive been waiting to watch for sometime now! Highly recommended!

Chiahao Tsui

Nice theater. Awesome and comfortable chairs. You can also get alcohol at the bar.

With the construction, it feels like a secret entrance. A good Escape from the seasonal chaos for real entertainment.
