This Movie Theater corresponds to the category of Movie theater.
This theater is a real gem.
Hidden gem. Great location comfortable seating and top notch movies. All at a great price.
Fine
Perfect for It
Our favorite small movie theater!
For me the seats were not so big that your legs are hanging off the floor! Very comfortable and movie prices cheaper than other theaters. I saw The Green Book.
It's a great place to enjoy a movie and maintain your hearing. The prices are reasonable and it feels good to support a local small business.
Very convenient local movie theater with current movies. Great staff, clean facility with parking right in front.
The Fine Arts Theatre was the "purrfect" venue for Carmah Cat Rescue's Feline Film Festival. The building is a retro delight! It is always a treat to visit buildings of a bygone era. There was plenty of parking and the location was easy to find.
This is a great movie theater if your looking for a nearby place to watch a movie.
Lovely little theater with a small town feel with a nice mix of new run movies as well as periodic showings of classics. Worth bookmarking the website and checking shown schedules regularly.
Great show
Small town theater nice staff. Variety of entertainment options
This is a true gem. Not crowed. Low price, $8/person. Top rate and up to date movies.
CrankThatFrank's live show was amazing! The theater was also very beautiful.
Good to have a local, non chain option to seeing movies. The theater was sort of renovated a year or two ago after being in terrible shape. They diced the leaking roof. Unfortunately, the seats are still terribly uncomfortable.
This is a wonderful, old-style theater! Family run with a friendly staff, lower priced tickets than the big chain theaters, concessions that don't double the cost of the movie, comfortable seats and a charming atmosphere. Tip: the theater sells packs of tickets (2, 5, 10) that come with popcorn and candy, all for less than the regular ticket prices of a regular theater.
Prices are great! the comfort of sitting throughout the whole movie, not so much
Excelente! Buena atención y exelente calidad en las películas!
Amazing
Awesome little home town theater, good prices, first run movies and occasional classics.
For movies' lovers
Great local theater.
Lovely neighborhood movie theater. Restored clean old time theater showing popular first run feature films.
Nicely renovated. Monthly classic film on the big screen. Two for Tuesday's are a great deal.
Good parking,excellent times and showings
Inexpensive, easy parking, clean
Neighborhood treasure.
Support this independent locally owned theater. They get great films, prices are good, free parking across the street.
Super close, love it
Lovely, nostalgic movie theater
This is a charming reminder of grand movie palaces of the past and just a nice place to catch a flick.
We went to see "Christopher Robin" this afternoon with our granddaughters. The theater was small (one of three screens) but clean and comfortable. The sound system was clear. The staff are friendly and the prices reasonable. It was our first time at this theater; it won't be our last.
A terrific local theater. Easy parking in the free lot across the street.
I love this place! They show a nice balance of big blockbuster movies and little indie projects.
Nice local theater, good value, good staff, seats could be more comfortable.
Cute old town theater. Affordable and not usually sold out.
I love this place! This little local theater has a lot of character. It always has current movies and it has upgraded its main theater. Prices are decent and the snack bar is fresh.
Amazing here
Older style theater, but we'll restored. Picture and sound quality are good. Seats are old style, but we'll upolstered and comfortable.
Great small town theather experience
Small, cozy theatre..had a nice experience.
Great place Food is actually not to expensive
Excellent old school theater.
Cute movie theater.
This theater is a real gem.
I love everything about it, except the customer service. If it didn't factor in the employees I would give it 5 stars.
Hidden gem. Great location comfortable seating and top notch movies. All at a great price.

Our favorite small movie theater!
This is my favorite place in the world. Seriously.
It's a great place to enjoy a movie and maintain your hearing. The prices are reasonable and it feels good to support a local small business.
Very convenient local movie theater with current movies. Great staff, clean facility with parking right in front.
Older movie theater in great condition. Staff was nice. Theater in the center of downtown. Great location. You can go for drinks, dessert or dinner after the movie. I had gotten there after the movie began. They offered for us to stay through the beginning of the next movie to catch what we missed.
The Fine Arts Theatre was the "purrfect" venue for Carmah Cat Rescue's Feline Film Festival. The building is a retro delight! It is always a treat to visit buildings of a bygone era. There was plenty of parking and the location was easy to find.
Always a great little Locsl theater

Air conditioning...
What a great place to watch a movie.
Small town theater nice staff. Variety of entertainment options
An icon of Asheville culture.
CrankThatFrank's live show was amazing! The theater was also very beautiful.

What can I say about Ashfield's fine arts theater seating is comfortable the popcorn is good And you can't go wrong when you are saying RBG Ruth bader Ginsburg movie
This is a wonderful, old-style theater! Excelente! Buena atención y exelente calidad en las películas!
Locally owned very clean and wonderful selection of movies.
Comfy, cozy, and quaint little movie theater in the heart of downtown Asheville. The venue is small, usually only showing two different films at one time, but the actual theater seating is comfortable and overall incredibly clean! They usually only play movies that are not being played in the large mainstream "corporate" theatres, so the movies are often exclusive to this location. Very nice, exceptionally clean, quick service and always fun, an awesome place to catch a good movie on a dinner and a movie "date night", or a great place to visit on a rainy afternoon while walking the streets of Asheville!! Oh...and you can grab a local beer to drink whilee you are enjoying the show!
Beer & popcorn with comfortable seats.
Amazing
amazing little theater with a cool selection of less mainstream movies
Awesome little home town theater, good prices, first run movies and occasional classics.
For movies' lovers
Great local theater.
Love the fact that it's in downtown. Great movie choices.
This place is the best - plays consistently great movies, nice, cozy, casual vibe, and the staff is great every time I go. This is one of the reasons I love Asheville, and I'd rather go here than any huge movie complex in town.
Lovely neighborhood movie theater. Restored clean old time theater showing popular first run feature films.
Nicely renovated. Monthly classic film on the big screen. Two for Tuesday's are a great deal.
Very sweet old theater. Great arthouse place. I would have given 5 stars but after about an hour your butt falls asleep in the hard chairs.
Saw The Shape of Water. Great movie, and I love the retro feel of the theater. Closest movie theater to Bristol showing this film, so I do appreciate that!
Best selection of movies in town!
Good parking,excellent times and showings
Great movies are presented at the theater, I only wish the seats were a little more comfortable.
Saw Abdul and Victoria, great movie. Really liked they have a nice tea selection at consessions
You know, this place doesn't have reclining seats, stadium seating or 4D super modern technology, but I really liked the old-time normal movie theater vibe. The choice of movies when I was there was neither typical mass market multiplex, nor self indulgent hipster. It was a nice in-between that could appeal to both. Truthfully, it's a three star theater, but I'm giving it that fourth star based on the nostalgia it fosters.
Inexpensive, easy parking, clean
Neighborhood treasure.
Good place to rest from and to enjoy your trip to Downtown Asheville. Old style theater without any parking. Don’t drive downtown on a busy weekend just to see a movie.
Always has quality films, and good service
Lovely small cinema feauturing independent or art-house films. It reminds me of Le Champo in Paris; it has the same intimate feel. The screen curtain gives the theater a nostalgic air as does the marquee outside. A perfect space for watching a good movie comfortably.
Support this independent locally owned theater. They get great films, prices are good, free parking across the street.
Won tickets for a show. It was too cold inside.
Super close, love it
Awesome venue!! Great beer selection too!
Actually thoroughly enjoyed watching movies here! They only play fine art or indie films here, dont expect to see superman ever on the screen. It only has two screens one upstairs and downstairs. Their showtimes are mostly during the day and really not ever late, unless it's weekends. You really just have to go in and watch a movie to experience it. It's cool when you finished a movie and walk out and boom your downtown. Legit best popcorn in the Ville..
Best movie theatre, sometimes don't have the new blockbusters, but that's ok
A terrific local theater. Easy parking in the free lot across the street.
I love this place! They show a nice balance of big blockbuster movies and little indie projects.
Great selection of films.
Nice local theater, good value, good staff, seats could be more comfortable.
Cute old town theater. Affordable and not usually sold out.
Locally owned theater with a colorful history. Selection of films above mainstream. More Fine Arts than hocum?
I love this place! This little local theater has a lot of character. It always has current movies and it has upgraded its main theater. Prices are decent and the snack bar is fresh.
This place is definitely not handicap accessible. To get to the theater rooms you have to climb a number to stairs up or down. No problem for me as I'm not handicapped but for others it is a problem.
Amazing here
Been going here since I was a kid. Not much has changed which is nice!
A really neat theatre with awesome staff!
Always the best of Asheville movie theaters. Love the ambiance and the best movie popcorn in town.
Comfortable and cozy. Good beer, snacks, and atmosphere. Locally owned.
Older style theater, but we'll restored. Picture and sound quality are good. Seats are old style, but we'll upolstered and comfortable.
Great small town theather experience
Small, cozy theatre..had a nice experience.
Great place Food is actually not to expensive
Great experience of a classic style movie theater. Even though we stood in the rain in order to purchase a ticket, it was part of the charm. Theater is small but cozy, and it really felt like we were watching history up on the screen. A gem of a place, they just don't make places like this anymore.
Let me say up front, my wife and I live in a small town, and we haven't gotten out to a small art house theater in a long time. So pretty much every touch in this theater felt charming and delightful in that British way that someone would say "delightful." Like with sharp consonant sounds. They had printed paper signs above the doors to indicate the movie. They had reasonable sizes for the popcorn. And the screen and sound were just "delightful." I'm really glad we got to visit.
Excellent old school theater.
Cute movie theater.
Love this theatre. Good prices, friendly staff, the best movies. One of my fav places in Asheville.
A staple of Asheville, if it's playing at The Fine Arts, it's a curated, well made film.
Sweet little theater with affordable popcorn and moving film choices. I watched the Oscar Nominated Live Action Shorts here and now wish I had known about this in previous years.
Great place to see a movie, Thanks to the new owners for renovating this theater and bring it back to its original state. I have been going to this theater since the early seventies I remember seeing the first Star Wars at this theater.
Best.
This place is a great quaint theatre! Popcorn, snacks and drinks! A lot of history here too!
Great refreshments on seating low prices very nice as well ok parking well it's pretty good
The seats were comfortable, and the view was good. I saw the latest Star Wars movie here. I had Coke Classic, the kind in the bottle and a yummy box of popcorn. It's ridiculously affordable. The theater when underwent a complete restoration. If you like classic style, an affordable date night option, and something kitsch - this is your place. They show classic movies and current films. The price is affordable, and I look forward to going back.
Fantastic local theater. It has three screens so choices are limited but the prices are great. It's old but clean and the sense of nostalgia is priceless. Also big tip - go pick up the gift baskets before you go. $25 couples date night $40 for the whole family and the package includes candy and snacks!
It’s not a very bigger one. Very small theater
Great, local, totally refurbished, movie theater with 3 screens, showing the latest movies in comfortable, renovated surroundings.
Excellent place
Love this local theatre - recently refurbished, comfortable, and a great variety of films and specials
Old style, smaller screens and chairs, but a great way to vest the crowds and see quality movies.
This a great movie theather it's very cheap, delicious food, super comfortable seats, great movies, the staff are very nice as well
Loved this place! Decoration and atmosphere gives the feel of a classic movie theater. Great place to see classics and independent films.
Great little theatre!
Wonderful building, indie movies but also commercial ones. A local treasure!
This place is pretty cool. I'm no review expert so take everything I say with a grain of salt. Personally I like this place, I remember seeing the polar express when I was 5 here, the seats are pretty good, they sell soda in the glass bottle, popcorn is good, tickets and food are expensive but that's probably because I'm broke. the theater has that nice small town feel while still having the quality of a chain. My only complaint is that because its a small business the floor in the theater rooms are either clean or covered in popcorn and soda, so its 60/40 if the shoes you have will stick to the ground or not (60 clean, 40 sticky) but other then this no real complaints, the chairs are clean, the arm rests usually have 0 gum on them. keep up the good work.
Best cinema for miles around
Most enjoyable to visit
Love this theater
This is a great theatre and minutes from home. They have specials 2 for 1 on Monday nights. Often the movies here are still being shown in the big theaters.
class
Reasonably cheap, comfortable, and clean theater
Small local theatre
Clean theatre. Screens and seats are standard which was fine for me. I love being able to see a movie without driving far or going to a mall.
Super quaint Cinema, plays great movies with the small theatre feel
Small, local theatre. Easy to get to. Decent prices.
Watched polar express on Christmas eve. Thank you so much! Was amazing.
Nice, reasonably priced, sound and screen very good, seats kinda small, not much leg room.
I live close by and have family membership. Love their renovated building and kid-friendly atmosphere, full of vibrant energy.
I watched The Words here (which I highly recommend by the way). It is a nice theatre. Definitely not as luxurious or as grand as some of the big box theatres, but it is a piece of history that I think is important to experience. Come and check it out for yourself!
I love the Fine Arts Theater Place! $10.50 for a movie. $5 Mondays and two-for-one Tuesdays. Love to support the local theater!
Great little movie theatre.
Always a great theater.
Good movies if you really like cinema
Sweet little theater with affordable popcorn and moving film choices. I watched the Oscar Nominated Live Action Shorts here and now wish I had known about this in previous years.
It was an interesting experience in that I haven't experienced an old-school theater like that in a long time. However the screen quality and sound quality were very poor. The heat was also out for the duration of our showing which made for a bitterly cold experience which isn't the theater's fault but perhaps it could use been remedied with space heaters or something. As with most things in Asheville they are trying to be "hip" by refusing even the most basic of modernization. I would only recommend going if they make a few upgrades.
Great old fashion, hometown cinema feel, inside and out. Locals love seeing movies here -- on Tuesdays especially. They bring the finest films to Asheville. And they serve wine and beer along side the usual snacks.
Great refreshments on seating low prices very nice as well ok parking well it's pretty good
Great showcase of local arts
The seats were comfortable, and the view was good. I saw the latest Star Wars movie here. I had Coke Classic, the kind in the bottle and a yummy box of popcorn. It's ridiculously affordable. Nice small theater with interesting movies.
Great experience and the movie was terrific. R.B.G was fantastic!
It’s not a very bigger one. Very small theater
Great, local, totally refurbished, movie theater with 3 screens, showing the latest movies in comfortable, renovated surroundings.
Love the fine arts theatre!
Excellent place
Local theater with great movies.
Love this local theatre - recently refurbished, comfortable, and a great variety of films and specials
Best place to see Indie films!
Old style, smaller screens and chairs, but a great way to vest the crowds and see quality movies.
Excellent facility with an old, classic theater feel. Very clean.
We looooove this theatre!
Awesome old Theater!!! Great prices on Tuesday just $5.00 all day!!!
I look forward to seeing more films here!
Went to this gem of a theater when I visited Asheville back in May 2015 and saw the documentary, She's Beautiful When She's Angry. It's a historic theater with old style seats and this together with the theater's atmosphere and charm gives a great overall experience. The staff is also super friendly and helpful.
Classic theater with a kind and courteous staff. Must visit in Asheville.
This a great movie theather it's very cheap, delicious food, super comfortable seats, great movies, the staff are very nice as well
Quality films at affordable prices.
Loved this place! Decoration and atmosphere gives the feel of a classic movie theater. Great place to see classics and independent films.
Great little theatre!
This theater is one of the finest in the area. The staff is super friendly and helpful but more importantly or as important is the fact that the movies there are always first class. And it doesn't hurt that Tuesdays save us a couple of bucks!!
Fun little theater with a nice atmosphere. Unimpressed with customer service skills of lady at concession stand. Otherwise, nice experience.
There is nothing bad to say about the Fine Arts Theater on Biltmore Ave. It is a service to the city and should be treated as such. They play the movies that you get excited hearing about playing "in select cities" and do a fine job of it with their limited screens. Get some sake and popcorn and take in some finely curated film with a loved one, you won't regret it.
Cool, old-timey cinema with quality showings and perfect snack accompaniments. The ideal escape from everyday life.
Wonderful building, indie movies but also commercial ones. A local treasure!

A throwback in time with select movies not available at other theaters
Great movies, great atmosphere
Love this theater
I have watched movies here and was here most recently for a Creative Mornings presentation. It's a cozy space with great acoustics and I'll definitely be back for future features.
This is a great theatre and minutes from home. They have specials 2 for 1 on Monday nights. Often the movies here are still being shown in the big theaters.

Reasonably cheap, comfortable, and clean theater
Location, location, location! Find a spot downtown hang out before or after anywhere you want to and catch a movie in this very cool old theater. Small viewing rooms make it very cozy. Doesn't have the reclining over-sized seats, but who cares! Great selection of beer and the popcorn is pretty good so grab something have a seat and enjoy your flick!
Small local theatre
Clean theatre. Screens and seats are standard which was fine for me. I love being able to see a movie without driving far or going to a mall.
Great independent movie theater. Clean, quiet and great movie selections. My only problem was the seats were small and hard on my back.
Clean and bright
Super quaint Cinema, plays great movies with the small theatre feel
Small, local theatre. Easy to get to. Decent prices.
Watched polar express on Christmas eve. Thank you so much! Was amazing.
Nice, reasonably priced, sound and screen very good, seats kinda small, not much leg room.
I live close by and have family membership. Love their renovated building and kid-friendly atmosphere, full of vibrant energy.
Decided on a whim to visit as the theater was across from our hotel and we couldn't be more impressed! The prices were decent, the theater clean and cozy, the seats comfortable. After leaving Asheville my husband realized he lost his ring and the staff found it and offered to mail it back to our hometown free of charge! Next time we're in Asheville we'll definitely be back.
Great atmosphere
Old school theatre, like the Rialto in Raleigh. Great place to catch a sneaky matinee. Especially love the upstairs screen with stadium seats.
Great place, let's support our old theaters before we lose them all.
Always a great theater.
Nice little theater. Reasonable prices, good concessions, friendly staff
This is a great little family-owned theater in the heart of downtown Maynard Massachusetts
Nice place. No real marks against it. The prices are more than reasonable and the staff was friendly. Within walking distance to everything worth going to in town. The seats are comfortable enough, sound and visuals were good. Apparently there aren’t really any outrageously busy times (according to a local friend). Definitely recommend this place.
Only 3 stars because the theatre is a little outdated. The chairs are not new and the screens are small. Prices are great. It is cozy but some work could be done to it.
Cozy place, great prices, perfect for a weekend hangout.
Had a great time here. Were able to see a recent release without having to fight for seats, and at a great price. Totally recommend you check out the theater
Love it here...
Maynard Fine Arts Theatre is small town gem. There's no bells and whistles but I don't need (or want that). I prefer to support my local theater and one that celebrates the art of film-making. The Fine Arts Theater shows many new releases and also promote independent, documentary, foreign and classic films. If you love movies as much as I do, be sure to check out their 'Fans of Film' series.
Love this place. It has character.
Best place one earth this place made me and my bf closer
Great local movie spot. Perfect neighborhood movie theatre
great place!!!!!!!!!
A very cozy place and with a good sound quality
Love the 2 for 1 price Tuesday night
Old time feel movie theater
Great place to go
Nice upgrade several years ago. Small town feel.
The new owners of the theatre did a really great job with renovations on this place, while still maintaining the “small-town,” family-friendly pricing for tickets and concessions that larger “branded” theatres have abandoned in favor of astronomically high prices. The general manager is friendly and approachable, so be sure to let him know how much you love what they have done with the place!
Very nice
Inexpensive, very clean and very retro. Great flick deals
Fabulous!
My favorite for movies
Nice small town theater.
They wouldn't let me in because I was 1 dollar short and they had horrible descriptions of prices.
Quality movies, current, and sound in the theatre not breaking the sound barrier. Tickets economically priced.
Small modern (digital) twin screen local theatre.
Nice little theater. Reasonable prices, good concessions, friendly staff
It was my first time here. Beautiful old theater. They could us a little help in the popcorn area though. Seriously, no butter?
Great movies, popcorn and beer! (and seats)
I’ve only been here once, but I loved the vibe! Can’t wait for another movie I’m interested in to be shown here.
The place was lovely. It was cozy for me. Though it was local but worth it watch some great movies here.
This is a great little family-owned theater in the heart of downtown Maynard Massachusetts

The seats are comfortable enough, sound and visuals were good. Apparently there aren’t really any outrageously busy times (according to a local friend). Definitely recommend this place.
Great local theater! Always gets those small release films. Great selection of beer and the popcorn is inexpensive. Love how the theater looks and they have a 5 dollar movie night on Tuesdays.
Intimate downtown local movie house with great selections.
It's not a super high tech movie theater, but it totally makes up for it in atmosphere and charm. Sometimes it's the only place you can go for some of the Obscure Independent films. I really like going here.
Good sound. Good price
I was teetering on 4 stars or 5 stars but decided on 5 stars just for what it is- a historic movie theater. You can’t buy tickets online, and they don’t do on sale prior to 30 minutes before the show starts, so scheduling a meal before ticket sales can be tricky. There is not one screen I believe in the entire theater and it’s somewhat small. A large middle row with a few seats on each side of the middle row. I was disappointed they don’t have liquid butter for their popcorn, the popcorn was dry and I regretted not getting a larger drink. Times like that I wish it was like other theaters where I could place an order and have it brought to my seat so I don’t miss any of the movie. 2019 theaters have spoiled us! lol. I liked they served wine/beer and snacks for a decent price, and if you have the Go Local card you get half off popcorn and drink. It’s a cool theater right in the heart of downtown
Only 3 stars because the theatre is a little outdated. The chairs are not new and the screens are small. Prices are great. It is cozy but some work could be done to it.
Old Small theater. Chairs are somewhat uncomfortable.
Cozy place, great prices, perfect for a weekend hangout.
Had a great time here. Were able to see a recent release without having to fight for seats, and at a great price. Totally recommend you check out the theater
Great local theater! Good seating, clean facilities, friendly crew. Would be great to get back to just showing great movies. Not just social-political statements, but plain old good flicks for us movie buffs who just enjoy the big screen experience.
I see movies here whenever I can. Great old theater, nice selection of treats, and even beer and wine if you like.
Great little theatre showing art movies
Great time watching the Warren Miller film.
Kia is the best manager, best local theater ever.
Always the best films.
Love it here...
Luv when the curtain goes up just before movie starts. Makes me feel like old Hollywood.
Love this place. It has character.
Small and personal
Always raided the best theatre in western North Carolina
Lovely old independent theatre. Drinks, including alcohol, and snacks available. There's loads of room in front of each row of seats, but with a huge step down so you can't actually stretch out your legs comfortably (they just dangle there), which is a shame. Still, beats going to a multiplex.
The poor quality of the sound system is such a disappointment that I rarely patronize this theatre. If not for that, I would be a regular.
Best place one earth this place made me and my bf closer
Great local movie spot. Perfect neighborhood movie theatre
Great local place that features films that can sometimes be hard to find in larger, more corporate theaters. The staff is great, and the concession prices are the lowest you can find. The place is clean, and offers a more nostalgic theater experience.
Great local movie house with offbeat movies. Nice selection of beers and snacks.
Great place to see a movie. Delicious popcorn and they serve beer, what more could you ask for? Oh, and it's decently priced too!
My favorite place for a movie, from great picks to a knowledgeable audience, $5 Tuesdays rock!
I love this theater so much! I've been to both the upstairs and downstairs theaters and they really have so much character! Everyone who works here seems super nice too. I really enjoyed it!
great place!!!!!!!!!
Great ambience, reasonable prices and friendly staff. But I am sorry, you need the ability to add more butter to the popcorn.
Favorite! Best movie selection in Asheville, awesome place. And they've got wine and beer and sake for sale. Great history too & super important to our town.
A very cozy place and with a good sound quality
Love the 2 for 1 price Tuesday night
Old time feel movie theater
Great place to go
Always good movies! Smaller with comfortable seating. Handicap accessible restroom on main floor.
Great little local movie theater that runs wonderful films.
Nice upgrade several years ago. Small town feel.
The new owners of the theatre did a really great job with renovations on this place, while still maintaining the “small-town,” family-friendly pricing for tickets and concessions that larger “branded” theatres have abandoned in favor of astronomically high prices. Favorite asheville theater. Great art films and very few trailers. You will not see a big budget film though.
Very nice
Excellent
Always a good movie at a super proces. Comfortable seating, good popcorn popped on site, and a good beer selection.
Inexpensive, very clean and very retro. Great flick deals
Fabulous!
This is an intimate theater that shows local films and small release films as opposed to the Hollywood blockbusters. Because it is a niche theater, the employees are knowledgeable about their topic and actually do care. It is one if my favorite theaters in Asheville and can't say enough good about it.
Small theater, comfortable seating, mediocre wine, wonderful films.
My favorite for movies
Nice small town theater.
Funky old movie theater. Go just to experience life from the past. It still lives here, and it's pretty cheap.
Vintage Theater I liked it a lot!
I have been going to movies and events at the Fine Arts Theater for years and always have a great experience. Staff is always attentive and kind, theaters are clean, and it’s just a classic art house theater where you can sit back with a glass of wine and a snack and enjoy a great film.
Seats are hard to enjoy after experiencing the recliner seating in other theatres and parking is always a grumble. Cute, little quirky theatre with ok sound.
They wouldn't let me in because I was 1 dollar short and they had horrible descriptions of prices.
Great place to watch a flick!
Great comfortable theater. . Brings back the old day feel..
Small modern (digital) twin screen local theatre.
Like out a 1950s movie. Small cheap and butter less popcorn
I had not visited this theater for many many years and was happy to see that it was still there and flourishing. The popcorn was remarkably good. It was a friendly crowd with a friendly staff and the number of screens was more than I had remembered. One drawback was that there was a glowing exit sign visible underneath the screen in theater 2.
Great retro theatre! Like how they were when I was a kid. With prices to match. Way better option than a mall theatre!
Vintage type movie theatre. 3 screens, 2 small and 1 big theatre. Price of admission and popcorn/snacks are extremely affordable.
Great small theatre with current movies. Prices are great!
The Fine Arts is an old time community movie theater restored for the 21st century. They feature big name, first run movies along with classics and special events. The prices are low, the quality high and the personnel excellent. The Fine Arts is both a going business and effort of love. The staff and the town take pride in what they've built.
Great local theatre with dedicated staff and tasty concessions. Coke in glass bottles! Very pleased to have a place so close with great options for date nights or school vacation weeks.
Its ok, decent price on the movie tickets and snacks, seats were kinda small. Wasn't too crowded. Popcorn is good! The decor in the place was cool, old posters of movies long gone.
Nice remake of a local community theater. Was left to rot - we left a few shoes glued to the floor there ourselves - until local hometown boy made good, Steve Trumble, bought it and redid the whole place, keeping a mid-1940's patina throughout. Remember when going to the Movies was an experience?
Not a fancy theater but its well maintained. Lots of seats. Cheap tickets and popcorn tastes good. The food is not so expensive either.
Community theater with first run movies. Lots of dining options within walking distance.
Love the updated bathroom. Theatre seating is still very uncomfortable
Came for a concert today security was a joke omg never again
This is the best theater I have ever been to! The bathrooms were spotless and the floors clean as a whistle. I recommend everyone go here and then go buy a bike at ray and sons. Ray told me he loves it at fine arts
I love the place thats all I have to say
Great local cinema with low price deals on Monday/Tuesday.
Nice inside
Agreed--great films, friendly staff, reasonable prices and lots of good, locally owned places to go grab a bite to eater after for before.
A great home town theater - they don't make them like this anymore. Staff you can talk to, special movie nights, and munchies that don't cost more than the tickets, which are a bargain. Support your local theater!
Great local theater! fresh popcorn, current movies, amazingly low prices. Some of the seats are a little saggy, but bring a pillow. At least the seats aren't those sprawling La-z-boy monstrosities one finds at other theaters. One can sit up like an adult.
Good local theatre. Convenient, parking across the street.
Great local theatre that also shows some retro movies, which is pretty unique.
Theaters are a but small and snack choice is limited. Movie range tends to stay PG-PG13
4.5* Small, 3 screens, comfortable! Convenient, Maynard free public parking lot directly across street. No lines, very quiet. Good ticket prices, $15, discounts for adults 60+, but with the usual over-priced snacks. Just 100% over, not 200% as in monster theatres, ha! $3.50 for medium pop corn. $2.50 for medium box of Reeses Pieces. The 3 screens are not MEGA-sized, vary slightly in size, but are large enough for a full and proper viewing experience due to lower number of seats and room size. The visual angles and screen height are perfect without the gaudy, overpowering need to crank your head back. If you like being tortured with oversized screens and audio levels that ring your ears, this is not the place. This place is great to enjoy a movie, not be a BDSM submissive to its "experience". We watched the C.G. spectacular, "Aquaman" in theatre #3 which seemed slightly smaller the largest #1 - though that might have been an illusion as it's hard to judge just walking by. Seats are of the usual shape but well cushioned and surpising comfortable for a regular fold up shape. A few in our group with bad backs had little trouble sitting for the 2.5 hours of the C.G. spectacle, "Aquaman". Sound system seems on par with full range, deep bass (all theatres sound too bassy for my audio engineer's ears) with Dolby theater surround sound. As an audio engineer. I felt no need to belch purist complaints. Though highs & upper mids were overly rounded, the sound felt believable and not boxy or tunnelled like on an older, unrefined PA like system. Naturally it was surround, at least 7.1 channels (de riguer of any modern movie theater). All in all, it was a surpringly good experience for a small quiet theatre complex off the beaten path with smaller viewing rooma & screens. Though we're not avid movie theatre buffs and are spoiled by having a high end HD screen and surround system at home, we'd definitely go back to this theatre for its convenience, decent cost, easy/free parking, and its quiet/comfortable en environment. Caveat: We went on Dec 30th with very few movie goers (10-20% seats filled). This may have been a quiet time in holidays which may have culled any unruly crowds, noise or disruptive teens. Hope not!
A first-run theatre oozing with small town charm. The fine arts theatre is like something you'd see in a movie about the beginnings of the Silver screen in America. It is absolutely beautiful, cheap, and a very special experience. Everyone who lives or visits the area should come see a show here.
It was ite.. But there was a mon there.. He was a bad mon sing... So i dont think imma go back yakno...
Great prices and the same quality projection and audio that you get at the big theaters.
Charming. Like stepping back in time.
Older theater - good value.
They show movies that matter in a local, loving environment. Join Go Local for great discount on popcorn. Beer and wine available.
Great theater and the only one in downtown Asheville.
Nice little place that shows thought prevoking movies on important topics.
Absolutely a top-notch theatre offering mainly independent films, both foreign and domestic. The staff has always been exceptionally accommodating since its inception over two decades ago. My only peeve is the admission price while very reasonable, downtown parking fees are a deterrent which usually has me leaning for the wait of availability on streaming at home.
We had the opportunity to see Loving Vincent in this awesome vaudeville style theatre. The character and hospitality of this theatre is rare. It was a super find and the films that are shown are well-researched.
Small intimate theatre that shows uncommon films. Sometimes with discussion afterward. ❤
This is not the theater to go to if you want to see the latest popular blockbuster or movie technology. It is however the spot to see indie movies or interesting movies that the more mainstream theaters dont spotlight or show. If you're looking for something more obscure. This is the spot.
Unique films
Great local theater with well chosen movies. Support local!
Nice, cozy space to see good movies!
Like out a 1950s movie. Small cheap and butter less popcorn
Interesting and unusual films. I go here when people are visiting from out of town .
Very nice little theater. The screen isn't that big but we really enjoyed watching La La Land upstairs. They sell beer !!!
I had not visited this theater for many many years and was happy to see that it was still there and flourishing. The popcorn was remarkably good. Unique & charming. The screens have curtains!
Their selection of films is always interesting, and it allows us to see selections not chosen by the large theater companies. There's also local beer available at the snack bar.
Great local theatre with dedicated staff and tasty concessions. Coke in glass bottles! Very pleased to have a place so close with great options for date nights or school vacation weeks.
I'm from GA, and this is my all-time favorite Independent theater! The Art Deco ambience makes it even more enjoyable Plus, Best Popcorn Award!
Its ok, decent price on the movie tickets and snacks, seats were kinda small. Wasn't too crowded. Popcorn is good! The decor in the place was cool, old posters of movies long gone.
Brought you back to the old days
A wonderfully intimate place to see a movie. From the red velvet curtains to the local beer selection at concessions, this is one of my favorite places for date nights.
Nice remake of a local community theater. Was left to rot - we left a few shoes glued to the floor there ourselves - until local hometown boy made good, Steve Trumble, bought it and redid the whole place, keeping a mid-1940's patina throughout. Remember when going to the Movies was an experience?

Showing movies you don't see anywhere else...
Community theater with first run movies. Lots of dining options within walking distance.
Love the updated bathroom. Theatre seating is still very uncomfortable
Just an overall pleasant experience. They show movies that can't be seen at corporate theatres.
Comfortable seating. Moderately priced snacks. Convenient location in the heart of Asheville. My favorite place to see a movie in Asheville.
Came for a concert today security was a joke omg never again
This is a great theater that plays great indie, etc. movies. And the popcorn is good, too!
Would've been a 5 ⭐s but they don't have extra butter for the popcorn!
I love the place thats all I have to say
Holy mackeral...we went there after a really nice meal at Barley's next door and were just floored by the atmosphere and service. Box office and concession stand folks were very nice and fun. We were there on a Tuesday and got the unexpected surprise of $5 tickets. Concession prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was just wonderful, as we saw Loving Vincent...a phenomenal movie. If you're visiting the area, this is the kind of intimate theatre experience that is just perfect for a date night:)
Great local cinema with low price deals on Monday/Tuesday.
Quite the wonderful theatre. 5 dollar Tuesdays and they're always showing excellent movies.

Cute little theater with two viewing rooms. Popcorn, candy, wine , beer, and sake. $5 Tuesdays!
A great theater. You don't have to see 25 minutes of reviews before the feature
Films are always interesting, competent staff, high quality product on screen.
Great local theater! fresh popcorn, current movies, amazingly low prices. Some of the seats are a little saggy, but bring a pillow. At least the seats aren't those sprawling La-z-boy monstrosities one finds at other theaters. One can sit up like an adult.

Nice!
This is an historic theater in Asheville showing all of the great films that aren't in the mainstream Cinemas. We just watched the Shape of Water at this theater. The seats are the old style theater seats so maybe not best for very heavy set people. The screen is great and the sound is great. They serve a pretty nice selection of beer, local Brews and some wine. They also have popcorn and a few other light snacks. It is a cultural experience to go to this theater, one which I always enjoy.
Theaters are a but small and snack choice is limited. Movie range tends to stay PG-PG13
The best!
Wonderful historic theater but with updated technology
Love this place

Always try to grab a movie when I am in Asheville at the Fine Arts Theatre. Great movies that I don't get in my hometown plus they offer a great variety of hot tea for me and beer for my hubby. Great movies, comfy environment and good service. Love this place!
Great prices and the same quality projection and audio that you get at the big theaters.
Great classic style theater. Go local. You won't reget it it
Great old movie house, showing small films in comfy seats. Good snackbar, too.
I saw "Amazing Grace" it was wonderful
Wonderful movies you won't see at the mall. Sipping wine or beer as I watch wonderful movies.
Cinema that matters
Charming. Like stepping back in time.
