REVIEWS OF Boston Opera House IN Massachusetts

Sanne Kure-Jensen

This lovely venue hosted a fabulous production of Hello Dolly. The performers were enthusiastic, well rehearsed and talented. The audience loved them. The orchestra and sets were also great.

Casey Roehrig

It's a great theater, and absolutely gorgeous! My only complaint is that the seats are too close together - it was cramped.

Garrett McCutcheon

Beautiful facility. There really is not a bad seat in the house. The layout of where the bars and vendor stands are makes it hard up move around because of the lines of people waiting.

Sangeeta Ashrit

Great ambience. We went for a show-NutCracker. Lovely crowd, it was Christmas time so Opera House was fully decorated. Dance and performance was great fun specially if one loves ballet.

Greg B01776

If you're looking for us on a Sunday late morning, here's a good place to look. Spectacular Brunch, wonderful cocktails any evening and glorious Bistro fare. Always a great take, whether it's before a Sox game or any evening out. In the nice weather, be sure to sit outside. Smoked Salmon w/Bagel & Eggs in Purgatory are two of many amazing dishes on the menu

Samara Peters

Beautiful venue with excellent acoustics. The stage is easily seen from any seat. Be careful of the stairs to the upper level, they can be a little steep. Bathrooms are only located in the basement and upper level, not the main floor.

Rita Hurtado

Watched "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, great venue. Also hosted an event in their VIP room. The manager and staff were super attentive and helpful. Catering was delicious.

Ruthanne Baker

Beautiful building! Wonderful production

Gabriel Jose

Betty Buckley vin Hello, Dolly! Final performance in Boston.

Larry Schell

Just a beautiful place to see a show.

joe plumpton

Had a great day here with a mom's bringing them to The Nutcracker for the first time what a fun experience

Prljam Smith

Went to see Miss Saigon which we loved! The theater is lovely and old it's so Boston. Most of the seats are actually great. Just beware of the ones on the side close to the front. Some are actually great and some not. The attendants are professional and attentive.

Nancy Yoshida

I saw the best performance of Les Miserables I have seen. The sound was amazing.

Dan Cole

Beautiful place..wonderful place..first time there..saw Dear Evan Hansen..great time

Roger Profit

Sets up back in time with it's Gothic architecture

Stephen Sovick

The Boston Opera House is iconic. If you don't go to attend a show, you should at least check it out for it's amazing interior design and architecture. I was there for opening night of the Nutcracker, and it was incredible. There is really not a bad seat in the house. I was in the upper mezzanine this time, and the experience was every bit as incredible as it was when I was at the Opera House for the first time, seven years ago. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Nancy M Lee

Beautiful theater with a lot of history that was restored a few years ago. I'm so glad they reopened this, as the space is really opulently designed. Like many of the old theaters in Boston, don't expect a lot of leg room in these seats. The seating however is well designed so that you have a good to decent viewing angle from multiple sections. Can get really crowded for popular shows and the lines for restrooms during intermission are insane, but it's a great venue otherwise.

Glen Musselman

I'm a little on the large side, so the seats were a bit snug. Overall, I would definitely return.

Andrew Garvin

It wasn't originally an opera house but a vaudeville theater that opened in the late "roaring '20s" just before the beginning of the depression. That makes the ornate detail of the architecture all the more amazing to me. Even if it's not to your taste, you can marvel at the quality of the restoration.

Michael Katz

No matter what show you go to see at the Opera House, nothing will compare to the building itself. This old, fully renovated gem is stunning from entrance to ceiling. Either before or after the show, look up and around at the detail and craftsmanship of this gem of a building. The seats are comfortable for a Boston theater with good acoustics and a large enough stage to accommodate any popular show.

Teresa Tysinger

One of the most beautiful theater spaces I've ever visited. The ornate and beautiful architecture is breathtaking. It's located in a great area of Boston near Boston Common and plenty of hotels and restaurants. Of course, seeing Hamilton in this space doesn't hurt! The ONLY downside is not enough bathroom space!!!

David Little

My wife and I saw Les Mis here just after our 24th anniversary. There isn’t a bad spot to see the stage and the acoustics are pretty good but the seats are horribly uncomfortable. I told my wife we should see another play here before going on a long plane ride - it would make any seat on the plane seem like first class

Oliver Dages - 2021

This place is just stunning. Went to see Les Misérables and was not disappointed. The theater itself is a massive peace of art and history for everyone to enjoy. The staff are very helpful and the lines move surprisingly quick when the show starts and ends. The rows of seats are elevated to a point where no one blocks your view, which make the show even better.

Dolores StJean

Went to see Hello Dolly. Great venue! Looking forward to seeing more shows here.

Thomas Cavanaugh

Great place to see a show.

Lorri Ann Miller

Great play. Beautiful building. Very comfortable seats

Kevin St Jean

Great theater to see any show.

Aggressive Gamer

Beautiful theatre and even better play, dear Evan Hansen was amazing!!!

Donn Deane

Everyone that I dealt with there was fantastic! The whole experience was wonderful!

Chris Capuzzo

It was my first time seeing the nutcracker and the first time I set foot in the Boston Opera House, and sure enough it did not disappoint. Just walking into the theater room you are greeted by a picturesque view of architectural wonderment. The design of the building was without a doubt painstakingly wrought to fruition with no ounce of detail left unchecked or unnoticed. From the balcony to the seats to the stage itself you are witnessing a true work of art that is a site to behold. What's even better is that description I just presented is just the theater itself, the play itself was altogether the cherry on top to an already enlightening experience. I've heard of how good the nutcracker is but until you actually view it for yourself, you really have no idea how magical it is. At least for my experience I felt they put out all the stops. Charming, witty, spectacular. Each performance a delightful nod to the other while also throwing in a brand of humor from a bubbly bear that had you splitting your side with laughter. At the end of it all you were elated to see the conclusion of such a magnificent performance and yet a bit sorrowful that it was over. No wonder families make it an annual tradition. To anyone that even considers it, dont think too long, just go and live and experience you will never forget and hopefully never regret

Victoria Lane

Beautiful theater, well run! Always have nice productions and parking is very close!

Nicole L

I went here with my husband and our friends to see Dear Evan Hansen. The place is beautiful and the performance was terrific. We were able to get in and out pretty quickly without any issues. The location is great and just a short walk from parking garages. I would definitely recommend seeing a show here.

Debra Scotti

Beautiful venue. I've always had a great experience here

Michelle Stone

Very nice call in advance for hp seats

Angie Lizeth Matamoros

It's just one of the best things I've ever seen.

Nadia Serra

Amazing shows! I have been there five times. 100% recommended.

Linda Trouville

Good progression at rest rooms, many stations for drinks, comfortable seats, and great sound system.

Bernie Courtemanche

Gorgeous, stunning, mesmerizing, elegance beyond my every expectation.

Jeremy Watarz

Went with a friend and our sons to see School of Rock on 2/23/19. The Opera House is beautiful. Even though the seats we were able to get were in the far back corner, we still had a great view. I look forward to seeing another show there.

Andrew Saati

Great facility. Great seats. Staffed appropriately so there is always someone to help you find your seat or answer a question. Can accommodate shows for all ages.

Cathy Gallery

Very comfortable seating. Audio was fantastic. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth a visit!

Adrianna Pasquarella

Very pretty. The seats were a little cramped but we got close enough seats for a decent price! And its bear a bunch of site like China town and other markets and malls. The dancers were great as well!

Cindy Grossmann

This is the most beautiful venue I have ever seen!! Such character and charm. Went to see “A Bronx Tale” and it was amazing!!! The staff that work here are the nicest people and actullay care and talk to you. I cannot wait to go back again!!

Lenore Campbell

Gorgeous architecture. Very clean. Great place for performances.

Leslie Saben

Beautiful place! I saw La Mis there last night in rows Y1, 3, and 5 and I did not even need my opera Glass's.

Angel Hart

Can not express enough how beautiful the Boston Opera House is! Only thing, the seats are Very close and small! The staff is wonderful. Be advised, it has high security. Metal detectors which makes us all safe. Prices of drinks are expensive. Water is 5 dollars, a glass of wine 15 dollars, 17 for a mixed drink. Plenty of bathrooms, a elevator for handicap as well. Lots of restaurants available in walking distance. No street parking but garages available. The sound and lighting, impeccable! Treat yourself, go and enjoy a show or concert!

Simon Rakov

Great venue to see a show. Good sight lines and acoustics, although the seats are not pitched such that a tall head in front of you does not obstruct your view. Beautiful theatre and well-managed restrooms!

susanne day

The Citizens Bank Opera House was phenomenal! It's so beautiful and the perfect venue for a show! Easy to get to, lots of parking and dining options nearby.

chrisrogers24 .

Saw The Lion King play. It was awesome!! I've seen the play before and since then would strongly recommend it. Highly suggest getting to the theater..if you don't wanna wait forever finding a decent parking spot. Other wise the theatre inside was absolutely stunning. To know it took years to restore made the results look incredible. At the time..I admire it because I had other things to look at besides staring at my phone before the show and the during intermission.

Regina Robertson

I accidentally went to see "Hello Dolly" while in Boston. I got turned around with my directions and instead of trying to get to my original destination I found myself walking by the Opera house. When I saw the playbill I thought what better way to spend a Saturday night in Boston? I was not disappointed. The House is smaller than I expected, but the acoustics and architecture were beautiful. Highly recommended.

Jenn Cyr

Absolutely stunning architecture and atmosphere. When to see Hamilton and was not disappointed

James Paine

Beautiful venue! Take the time to look around at all the details if you see a show here. Also there is a small exhibit on their most recent restoration on the way down to the lower levels (easy to miss, it one the way to the lower bathrooms)

Patrick Gallery

My wife and I saw A Bronx Tale and we had a great time and it was a amazing performance. Exceeded my expectations of a musical.

Alex Stoyanov

I absolutely love this place... I come here a couple times a year, and every time I enjoy it very much. Overall the architecture is really cool and the space looks nice (even though more bathrooms could be good). All the performances that I have been to there have been spectacular, and the stage is large and easily seen no matter where you sit (unless it is on one of the four balconies). I would recommend coming here often.

Mary Woods

I purchased on a website that I thought was Ticketmaster, needless to saw it was a mess. The staff in the boxoffice were outstanding and were able to give me my tickets. Great customer service.

Cheryl C

The Theater is beautiful however, the aisles are too narrow and once you're seated you'll notice that there's no leg room.

Chaney Goldstein

Volunteer ushers are ok. They can sometimes get on your nerves, but they are good nonetheless.

joseph poulin

Gorgeous place to see a show. Drinks are available in the lobby and you can actually bring them back to your seats! Speaking of seats, they area bit older but comfortable. Good views from each seat, even if the woman in front of you is wearing a disturbingly weird hat during the whole show! I'll certainly come backfor more.

Karam Al Shelh

Wow wow wow .... Building is Amazing ... Cool architecture ... Wonderful plays.

Grant Brandon

Awesome theatre. Saw School of Rock with the family and have a wonderful evening. Highly recommend!

Meredith Larson

Beautiful building! And the Cinderella ballet was entertaining.

Elizabeth Du Grenier

My review is old. I went here as a little girl, and it was magical.

Patricia Jibben

We saw the Cinderella ballet in a magical theater. It was a great performance. We purchased cheaper tickets and still had a great view of the stage.

Jens Jacob Prasse

I'm a dramaturg, so I am pretty critical to most theatre performances. The show I watched tonight treated an important theme - young people commiting suicide - but there was too much talking and too many sophisticated technical solutions. I missed genuine emotions, actions and actors relating to the spectators. But I guess that's what you get when you buy a ticket for a Broadway production.

Karen Scott

You have to go if you get the chance. Amazing architecture. So beautiful.

Lisa Moreau

Loved the performance of Les Miserables, but oi vey there is NO leg room. I mean I couldn't stretch my legs or cross them for comfort. This is a very tiny theater and while its charm and decor cannot be beat, od like to beat those seats. I've always wanted to go to the opera house for a performance, but been there done that. I'm good

Dean Adit Prapanca

The Boston Opera House, formerly known as the B.F. Keith Memorial Theatre (1970). An astonishing performing arts venue. Just a walking distance from the great Boston Common. Thousands of great performers had their shows held here. I will definitely coming back for more!

Elisa Fatzinger

Beautiful architecture and decor. Seats are all well placed to get good aspect of the stage and great sound without the bounce back. Probably most wonderful theatre been to in the world.

Steve L

Who doesnt love a musical -- Miss Saigon was spectacular!

曾宇瑄

We went to watch Cinderella ballet, and it was the first time we stepped in Boston Opera House! It was gorgeous inside the opera house. With good elegant decoration and stunning atmosphere, nice place to have a Friday night date with my partner.

loretta young

First the staff there is so helpful. They are there helping people enjoy there experience at the Opera House. They are willing do what it takes to make you happy, very professional staff. Beautiful building and great shows. I had a wounderful time. I just wish some people who are also there to see a show would leave there bad attitudes and child like behavior at home. Thanks for a great time. Loved it.

Jessica Mogel

Beautiful historic venue with fantastic acoustics. It made us feel like we were stepping back in time. Highly recommend a show here.

Michelle Garofalo

Seats were surprisingly more comfortable than I thought!

Jeremie Lozier

I love the opera house is gorgeous but I tend to find that the sound in the balcony and mezzanines is never great on this particular visit I couldn't understand a word that they were singing for the entire 1st act

Aaron Bosshardt

The only negative is having to go into the basement for the bathrooms. Otherwise it's a great facility

Chris Fox

A wonderful venue for ballet lovers and youngsters. Always a family oriented environment with bars open to all patrons. A must see for the performing arts scene in Boston

Megan Yavgv

Saw Hamilton, first of all, amazing show! The Opera House itself was very accommodating, they had a very good system for bathrooms during the mid show and they had booze lol. I was very worried about the seats because another theater in Boston that me and my husband went to was too small for his butt. Unfortunately even though he's lost weight he still doesn't fit in all chairs. However these were able to hold even his butt! And I felt OK too. If you're tall however you might be in for a bad time. Or at least a cramped time. The stage was beautiful the actual venue was beautiful. This is the first time that I saw a theater where the center could spin and I'm glad the show that I went to accommodated that! Would definitely go again, even if it wasn't for Hamilton

Joe Taylor

Great venue. Lots of restaurants around to go to before a show. I went to see Bryan Ferry, great show.

Dean Thomas

I bought a ticket at the ticket counter just before the show began. The staff were friendly and very helpful. My seat was comfortable and the view of the stage and sound were impressive.

Jennifer Maszczak

Best place to see The Nutcracker, hands down.

susan gagliardo

Beautiful place..a little tight when in your seats..but other than that the ushers are very helpful and the Lion King was awesome!

Craig Buchanan

Beautiful place. Awesome architecture. The sound is great in there. We saw Book of Mormon which was hilarious.

Debbie Ennis

Nice place to see a show. The seats are comfortable, if you're not too large. Nice bar area and a good amount of bathrooms for women.

Bill VanderClock

This is a beautiful, old theater. Unfortunatly there is too little room between rows of seats. I got very uncomfortable after an hour. Thank goodness for the intermission.

Atticus McDonough

We see every show that comes through Boston and are NEVER let down

Barbara B.

The decor is fabulous, the ballet was breath taking.

Roman Hradysky

We Go to the Boston opera house at least once a year for the nutcracker and it’s always an amazing show the resort is always clean prepped all staff but helpful is no lack of any assistance as the guests are pouring in for the great shows. Just about every single seat in the house has a has a great view, so no matter what seats you buy cheap or expensive you know for sure are you going to enjoy the show. The snacks and the drinks are a bit overpriced even for an opera house in downtown Boston.I think we paid $4-$5 for a bottle of water. The security is very nice and keeps the line moving a lot make you feel like you’re going through high security airport Interrogations I’ll plan on going there many more times and it’s something everyone should check out at least once in a lifetime as the architecture inside is untouched and beautiful like it was in the original days.

Raymond Rioux

Fantastic experience. Will be back. Miss Saigon was great.

Donna Allen

The well-maintained ornate decor is breath taking. We thoroughly enjoyed the show, and the staff members and volunteers are efficient.

Steven Miller

Wonderful place to catch a show. Just be sure to make reservations at a restaurant in the area a few weeks (or more) before the event. Nearby restaurants are full after an event & do not take walk-ins.

Rihab Fahad

Absolutely beautiful. If you are looking for good, affordable seats with a decent view, get the outer ones on the lower level, around row Q. Fantastic deal for the price

Patty Hoban

Hamilton was amazing!! Seats in mezzanine were excellent. Ushers very helpful. Only downside was the extraordinary long line for the women's room during intermission.

Kenneth Galan

Very ornate and beautiful building. Go to any show you can if you get the chance

Javier Avendaño

It's a beautiful place to see beautiful shows. However, I'm giving it three stars only based on the actual venue per se. Small and cramped seats, patio area not steep enough to facilitate view if you're in the back, horrible place to access by car (during the typical show hours, traffic is absolutely appalling in the area)

Jackie Lee

For all of the Broadway events I go on Boston I prefer to go this placs. I love the fact that you can get some adult beverages and you can take them to your seats and enjoy the show as you have your drinks there. The only downside is that the seats made me a little bit uncomfortable I always needed to change positions. I'm hoping a seat upgrade is in hand other than that I love seeing shows here.

Keith Sorota

Beautiful theatre. Comfortable seats. Lots of history!

Marlene Wheeler

The entire play is singing so hard to understand sometimes. Opera house is beautiful so.glad they saved it.It was neglected for many years.

Irina Rappoport

Musical "Miss Saigon" is brilliant, spectacular, fabulous... Highly recommend

Melissa Stacy

Love the opera house! Saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Friday night. They make it easy to get a drink with multiple stations on different floors, the staff were helpful and happy, and the seats are comfortable.

Thomas Turner

Very impressive place. Go yearly to the Nutcracker.

Beth Piroso

Hello Dolly was a terrific show!

Perri Kapp

Beautiful theatre. We saw Copellia done by the Boston Ballet. It was a wonderful performance and reminded us how much we love going to the Ballet. The staff at the Opera House was all very friendly and helpful. I love that they are trying to create interesting interactive things in the lobby and getting kids excited about the arts. We will definitely be going back whenever we can!

Mike Donohue

Saw glad they renovated this theatre a few years ago and it didn't become condos or another bar. A little cramped getting inside through security. Once you make it, skip the merch and head down to the lower level for separate bars and refreshments (and bathrooms). Nicely air conditioned overall. Good sight lines from most seats. A lot more legroom than the newly renovated Colonial (I'm 6'3" and don't have airline seat flashbacks in this theatre)

Akari Hernandez

Gorgeous building, saw Dear Evan Hansen here, the most amazing musical ever!

Lawrence Sheppard

Great place, but they should have railings in the mezzanine and balcony areas

Ethel Walker

This building is so incredibly beautiful, been here many times and it never ceases to amaze me. As always l always try to see as much of the Boston Ballet as possible

Vera Martin

Love coming here for performances. Today is Dear Evan Hanse ...can't wait to see it as the music is fantastic!

Bob Degraan

Beautiful theater all seats great views

Mastercraft Roofing Siding Windows Awnings

Stunning atmosphere! Dear Evan actors superb! Storyline very depressing

Ricardo Jorge

Beautiful entrance. Unfortunately we weren't able to go inside. You need to book a week in advance

Emily Keith

The seat location that we had for The Nutcracker, center orch row T was amazing!! The actual seats themselves were tiny and offered no legroom or room to move around. The sets were truly amazing and gorgeous! The show itself was terrific as was the company I was with - thanks mom and Cousin A., good times watching the Boston ballet Co!

Amanda DeMarco

Its hard to leave a review for a piece of history. Its a gorgeous theatre and I've never been disappointed by a show there.

Sophia Beauport

wow what can i say about his place, other than it is truly magnificent, it is always a joy to go there and watch a play

Brett Reslow

Beautiful place to see a performance. Wonderful old building with a lot of character. My only complaint would be they need to turn the heat down. I was wearing khakis and a button down shirt and was sweating. Now I do run warm but think place was hot. Other than that I loved my experience there and would go back to see another show.

Stephen Stryhalaleck

Saw Dear Evan Hansen, which was great. No really be seats and the staff was accommodating to get you to your seats.

James McQuivey

A Boston theater district classic, the Opera House is an ample sized venue where most seats in the house still offer a good view, in contrast to the Wang. Opulently decorated, this beautiful theater is worth exploring before the show to see the wonderful and intricate decor. Just a warning that intermission is never long enough for everyone who needs to use the bathroom to actually do so, given the lines that form, especially for the ladies' room. So either minimize liquid intake or go immediately once intermission starts!

John Todd

It's the real deal: Charming and Appropriately Stylish with enthfusiastically helpful staff:-)

Joanne Pederson

The show was just okay but this place is beautiful

Ray P

What a beautiful venue. Just saw Hello Dolly, the acoustics are superb, and the performance was excellent.

Emma Ledwith

I went to see Hamilton Performance on November 2018 with Erin, Mom and Dad and the show was 3 Hours from 8 to 11pm and went to bed at midnight because there was traffic so much in Boston Well I had a fun time I see you later

Faith Mancuso

Absolutely beautiful inside. The ceiling and decor is wonderful. The shows are amazing. Get crowded right before the show so arrive as early as you can.

Raye Panda

Beautiful theater, intricately detailed building. Very handicap friendly, good sound stage & tech. Pleasant staff.

Austen Kruse

Watched dear Evan Hansen, play was good, seating a bit tight but atmosphere is nice.

Marcus Hamblin

Gloriously classic! Great venue for a performance.

Joe Mc Clure

Nice place, comfortable seats, polite staff, clean bathrooms, good sound system, unobstructed views. All together, it was a very pleasant experience!

GlobalPritam

Awesome ambiance and beautiful place. Been their Friday evening and surprise surprise. Great show. Amazing sitting in gallery and mind blowing acting treat. One of best memory of Boston. The building is great display of art and creativity.

bman pitt

So amazing the Boston Ballet is world class. Perfect performance to see In Boston. I loved Giselle from the pageantry, live music and dance. A solid fusion of the higher arts. A visual feast for the eyes and the soul...

Tp37

Excellent went there to see Miss Saigon what a great performance

Rachel Ford

Went here for the opening night of Giselle by the Boston Ballet and it was incredible!

Dina Dimazo

If u weigh more than 170 forget it. The place is beautiful but not for big bones people. My boyfriend and I went to a bronx tale but couldn't enjoy the show because the seats are RIDICULOUSLY tight. No show is worth paying if you are uncomfortable in a 200 dollar seat. Also, better hope noone tall sits in front if you because you will not see. Definitely a no go on my list of return theatres.

Greg Spry

The building is breathtaking. The symmetry in the ceiling carving is worth arriving ealry just to sit in your seat and stare up. You can get lost in that world before the play you're about to see takes you into their world. Staffed well with friendly folks at every turn to get you to your seat quickly. If you love the arts and architecture this is door to heaven. Enjoy!

KATHRYN PHILLIPS

Beautiful inside. Saw Hamilton there stage was awesome sound was natural and not digitized sounding

Stacey Kripp

Something I've started to look for as breastfeeding mama is if a place is breastfeeding friendly. Many reviews I read do not have this information. I'd personally prefer never to leave my babe but when your favorite musical comes to town you go. I have to give the BOH a big shout out for making it easy for me to pump while seeing a show. All the ushers were super helpful when I asked for lactation room. The room itself was just a little kitchenette but it had a chair and served it's purpose. Really impressed. Not to mention the theatre itself is gorgeous. If you are breastfeeding and thinking about seeing a show here do it.

Fanuel Muindi

Saw the Nutcracker. Enjoyed it! Get there early! Recommend parking at 22 Kingston st. $12 after hours. You also get a $2 discount from the show.

Carlos Vargas

This has become our favorite theatre in Boston.

Zafrin Rashidu

The experience was AMAZING. Soooo beautiful and elegant. The staff is very nice. I recommend if you’re looking to do something in Boston try watch a play or musical here!!!!

Richard Kelley

Beautiful architecture. Seats made for people who weigh 120 pounds with short legs. Uncomfortable seating

Anna Foster

Beautiful space and staff. Make extra time to take in all of the details. Show was excellent.

Marc Vigeant

Restoration deserving of museum quality visuals..

Stephen Herbert

Went to a modern ballet. I am not a ballet connoisseur but the modern ballet performance was great. Highly recommended

Joseph Correia

It's a beautiful venue, very well maintained and run by excellent staff.

Christopher Polak

Gorgeous opera house hosting the finest of Broadway's touring productions.

Daniel Healy

Beautiful building but the acoustics weren't on par with what I expected and experienced at other venues.

Laura Gimby

Can't think of a venue I enjoy more. A truly magnificent building, terrific acoustics, great shows... and the staff! They're warm, friendly, and SO intelligently organized.

Lisa Moran

Wonderful performance of Miss Saigon today. Staff was all courteous and helpful. The venue is beautiful. The restrooms were clean.

Angel Dhiman

It is always so mesmerizing to visit Boston opera house. The decorations and lighting are out of the world. The classic musicals are always entertaining and transcend you to a different world altogether.

Brice Johnson

AMAZING Performance of Les Miserables!!! Lightings and effects were used really well and all the performers had such beautiful voices! Just very little personal space/seat room, you share an arm rest with the person sitting on either sides of you.

Jennifer McWhinnie

Amazing theater, tons of wonderful performances and bars/snacks located everywhere. The wait in the ladies room isn’t terrible, the line looks long but moves fast. The ushers are pleasant and tickets are reasonable.

Steven P Taylor

A wonderful old and recently restored classic opera house with a glorious acoustic so that you hear everything! I saw Betty Buckley in Hello Dolly!

Xylene Graves

I love this place. I had season subscriptions to Boston Ballet up until Fall 2018, then I moved. The seats are comfortable and the whole place is clean. Moving through the lobby on the 1st floor before and after shows can be a little tough. But, it is no different than a typical opera house crowd. The staff always accommodated my need for aisle seats due to limited mobility. They also helped me choose seats based on my height. I am short (5' 2.5"). When I sit on the orchestra level, looking up at the stage taller people (5' 5"and up)usually block my view. Also, there is an elevator and both floors are wheelchair accessible, so are the bathrooms. Bathroom attendants keep the bathrooms clean and the potty line moving.

Gman Loiseau

A masterpiece of theater. A beautiful peace of classical art. Would love it even more if the men's bathroom got an update.

Doug Hartley

Um, for the >$200 Hamilton tickets and the show I just saw in center orch, there could be improvement. You've got to show your tickets four times to get to your seat. The third person I showed them to was 100% cranky. The performers gave a gorgeous effort. The seats had OK knee room, which is saying something -- other Boston theatres are adept at abrading knee caps. It would have been more enjoyable if the sound system offered better clarity. I've done many stage performances with microphones taped to my head; I know how tough those systems are to keep at peak performance. However, I saw this show in Chicago last year and the sound wasn't as in-a-tin-can. Also, it's time these systems evolve/adapt to the performers' position on stage and move the attenuation to allow for the viewer to know which actor's voice is coming out of the speakers. Also, and this is really tough with a French accent, I know, but the Lafayette character was next to impossible to discern without always looking at the closed caption (annoying). That said, the closed caption was smart! Seemed to recognize that the Opera House's sound system is lacking.

KMMG

How uncomfortable the seating (I’m 5’10” 170#) and intermission was 15ish minutes with bathroom lines extending two floors. Planning/management is a joke. Last time I’ll see a show there. Show was good.

Wayne Williams

I'm pretty sure I've been to all of the theaters in Boston, and the opera house is the nicest. The decorum is worthy of being in an architectural magazine. And though my seats were in the balcony section, it was still reasonably comfortable in comparison to some of the other smaller theaters in the city. The production (School of Rock) was fantastic, and the line to leave moved steadily.

James Smith

What a gorgeous theatre. The restoration was just amazing; it feels like we are heading back in time to see some grand performance. Everything from the lobby to the hallways to the theater itself are just stunning. It's a performance itself. There are great sight lines from every seat in the house as far as we could tell. The Ballet was wonderful; the performers are top notch. We will absolutely go back again.

Abby Joyce

The theater it self is absolutly beautiful. Like walls and ceiling have beautiful designs sculpted into it. An old charm similar to a grand church. The people are very nice and on point at their jobs. The chairs are comfortable and there is seating for wheelchair users

Sharon Gottfried-Boehm

Great experience. Would also love to see concert venues there.

Noreen Merz

Gorgeous theatre. Saw production of hello Dolly that was fabulous with Betty Buckley.
