Beautiful classic cinema. Great place for second run films. Also home to National Community Church.

Charming. Reasonably priced concessions, but the popcorn isn't great. Saw the Capitol Hill Film Festival here. The vintage seats start getting really uncomfortable after awhile. But the atmosphere and location is cool.

Kay Dee

Ok, small and easily assessible with independent films. Concession stand sucked though as nothing was ready and we missed some of the film due to waiting for them.

A very nice place. The sound for live shows is excellent. The band Luther Relives was outstanding. If you get a chance to catch this band you must do so.

Best movie theatre I've been to. We were greeted by extremely friendly staff. Old-school feel with 40s intro to DC before the movie.

Love that they show older movies. It fits with the theme of the theater which has vintage seats. Great location and reasonable prices...especially for the vintage movies they show.

The Miracle makes a wonderful frame for intimate shows like The Moth Story Slam.

We were here for the monthly Story Slam with the Moth. The theater is a refab meeting place, this time with adequate air conditioning. Good sound system,Tix bought ahead of time online, friendly hipster staff. Great community center for movies, shows, and spoken word.

It would be perfect if they showed movies during the week

The theater is beautiful and although the seats might be uncomfortable by current standards, I loved the well-curated authenticity of a beautiful old theater. The only downside of our visit was the concession stand, which I understand isn't the point of a place like this, but could be run a little more efficiently on a very busy night.

Attending church at this theater was a joy!

I was so excited to find out this movie theater exists so close. I do not like going to Gallery Place to see movies. It is too crowded and noisy there. This theater is small and quiet. I think it only has two screens total but I could be wrong here. It perfectly compliments the neighborhood's atmosphere and seems beneficial to all the local restaurants here as going to the theater kept me around longer to eat and drink locally and hopefully does the same for the majority of customers. I will be a frequent customer.

The venue felt very awkward for live music, was not well converted from being a movie theater, the seats are made to see a high screen and the people in the back have a hard time seeing people on the ground in the front. The acoustics were also not great, not sure if because of the space entirely, but there was an electronic whine for the whole show and the performers we're visibly annoyed.

Kathleen Moore

Lyle n Sherrell Tard

Not only is it an incredible church, they are about to start showing movies here soon!! So stoked!

Michelle Graham

Best church...awesome prayer and worship services. Mark is the best.

Amy Hu

Very cozy second run theater! I recommend sitting in the front section, like row 5 to 8, since the screen is not as large as modem theaters.

Matthew Sutherland

I love the vintage aesthetic of the theatre and the history behind it but their sound system needs work and it may have only happened when I was there but we bought popcorn and something about the butter was way way off. It tasted like burnt cardboard.

Saw David Wilcox here a while back -- my first visit to the Miracle Theatre. I loved the venue--but then, I'm a lover of all things vintage and restored, saved, etc. This is definitely an old-school theater--the vibe reminds me of the Greenbelt Theatre in Old Greenbelt. But Greenbelt was completely renovated, while this theatre seems to be cleaned up, and mostly original. Someone else mentioned that the seats aren't the most comfortable. Yeah, they're not the recliners we're all getting spoiled by in today's theatres, but hell--most Americans have enough padding back there (yours truly included) to make it bearable. If you're short, you might want to get there early to make sure get a seat up front and don't sit behind some giant or giantess. But what a cool, intimate, wonderful place to see live music! I'm hoping they'll bring more singer-songwriters, Americana, blues, jazz (please, jazz?) there in the future. Don't know if I'd go out there for a movie (Capitol Hill is a haul from Laurel), but I'll definitely be back for more live music. P.S. Don't know what the original name of the theater was, but I just love "Miracle Theatre." Makes me think of a Frank Capra movie...

* arrive early for good seats. * No coat check and seats are cramped, so don't bring your big jackets. * For the same reason, cut back on your fluid intake before (and perhaps during) the show so as to minimize trips to the bathroom :) * They had a couple of good beers and some wine for the live music show I was there for. * Just theater snacks * not a lot of space in the lobby for merch desk, so if you intend to buy/get autographs, line up quick

Nemer Muallem

Very quaint theater. Plays both movies and is an event venue for concerts/acts. Can buy popcorn, snacks and beverages here as well for the show

Beautiful theater, looks like it was preserved or restored from the mid-20th century. Good prices for snacks, friendly staff. Theater has two levels. Parking is difficult in the area.

Thomas Witte

Great venue for the Nosleep Podcast event! I hope they do it here again!

Harrison Wedel

It was a nice experience the staff was helpful but they didn't know anything about the the event each one of the employees that I just work up front I work for miracle and I don't know what's going on here, my suggestion would be that you let the staff know what the event is that 300 people are coming to see I find it odd that nobody had any answers none of the front of the house staff knew what was going on they knew how much popcorn cost they were able to sell me wine but they did not have any information on the events.

I go here for church (National Community Church) I. Sat @5pm or Sun @10:30 or 12pm services. Clean theater and they show movies that are current and recent. Come and try out both!!! The church owns the building. Great location along Barracks Row. Plus, this is my. Neighborhood area. Lived in DC all my life! Lived in this area for 16 years.

Bruce Mattheus

Love it

Brian Kelley

The Miracle Theatre is a great movie theatre, and shows films that have already stopped playing at most other theatres. I watched Beauty and the Beast here and was impressed. It also hosts church services on Sunday mornings and on Saturday nights, they are definitely worth checking out as well!

Chris Pascuzzo

Fantastic cost friendly retro movie theater to take in a second run flic on Capitol Hill. Super friendly movie staff adds to the great experience. Afterwards take a stroll down Barracks Row or grab a drink and/or dinner at any if the many bars and restaurants on 8th street. The Miracle theater is just that, a miracle on 8th street.
