Small, intimate setting is nice with reclining chairs great picture and sound quality, i dropped my phone in between the seats. Underneath those chairs we suppose to sit in is about a years worth of trash candy and popcorn. Awful and not clean

I like this AMC Theater normally it's clean and not overly crowded. If something goes wrong there like someone makes a mistake the managers are quick to fix it which I really appreciate. Only reason I give this AMC 4 stars and not 5 is because they don't have a kiosk where I can get my own tickets instead of waiting in line.

I love the upgrade, it definitely needed it. Love the recliner seats however I don't care for the two lines (regular folks vs premiere guest) at the concession stand. I think that idea is a little prejudice and unfair. Your movie watcher status shouldn't determined how fast you are served. It's just the movies!

Surprising gem. The mall that this theater is in isn't particularly fancy but the theater is exceptionally nice. It's smaller than most but I've never found it crowded. The seats are huge and have motorized reclining. I actually prefer this theater to the other nearby ones, so I'm happy that it happens to be the one closest to my apartment.

Went to see a kids movie that started at 2pm in which the movie didnt actually start until 230pm. When confronting the young staff about it....that reacted with no care in the world and responded with no since of urgency while kids awaited restlessly for their movie to start. No one from the staff or management thought it would a great customer service to address the patrons in the theater of what was going on. This was my last visit.

I visited this theater after its remodeling and I must say it is greatly improved. I hated going to this theater before because it was so old and run down. The ticket and concession lines were aggravatingly long and the floors and theater rooms looked unclean. But it looks so much better now and I’ve added it back to my rotation of theater options. Also it has reclining seats now, and that’s a high plus!

Man... some lady had her two kids running through the aisles 3/4 of the movies. Making noise and even throwing there shoes at the screen! I finally got up and told the lady but she didn't care at all.. she just let it keep going. Finally someone from front came and said something to her and it stopped. Why she wasn't thrown out is beyond me. Lot of people in there paid money to enjoy a movie not here kids running through the aisles.

I tried giving this theater a chance 3 weeks ago I came in to watch The Prodigy they had the lights on for the whole movie, and today trying to see Captain Marvel they missed the whole trailers started off the movie with a weird screen format then they paused the movie 10 minutes in for some false error restarted then skipped all around the movie but by then I just wanted to get out of there not to mention rude lady at the front asking us why are we making it a big deal... Only got one star because I had no choice but kudos to the one guy in concessions who was nice and friendly, regret not getting my receipt because I've could've put his name on this review. PS Go to Beltsville or Wheaton

The positives: nice full reclining seats, theater was comfortably tempered, employees seemed nice enough. The negatives: restrooms were a disaster, lobby floor was sticky, only had one ticket agent working on a Discount Tuesday evening, trash cans were overflowing in the lobby, the cleaning crew for our showing didn't even start cleaning the auditorium until 8 minutes before the previews started and were not done until after the first one started playing. One of the main reasons I pay to be an A List member is so I do not have to wait in line to get tickets; however, the ticket scanner/taker was the same employee who was selling tickets to the other patrons. So I had to wait in a 14 person deep line just to check in for my movie. This particular theater could benefit from installing a couple self serve kiosks.

This is my favorite theater. Couple of reasons why very close to home. You can pre-select seating. If we have to go to the theater this is always my go-to place. Not to mention that those seats are just extra comfort.

First of all, allow me to start with the fact that the manager (Crystal) on duty was very impersonal. She did not have a friendly attitude. I came in with my children on Mother's Day and the place was filthy. From the floor to the soda machines. Next, they were unbelievably slow in the concession stand line and there was a new person and I can tell because she kept having the call the manager (Crystal) for help. I ordered pretzel bites and nachos, I was unaware that it would take a five minute delay as the pretzel bites are made to order. I was not informed of that. After standing there for 5 minutes or so, I asked the young lady where are my pretzel bites. She said they are not ready yet... I said okay when will be they be ready... Then the manager walks up again, and asks her did they start making the pretzel bites... She said no. So now I am just standing here waiting for them to help other people, not to make the order that I already paid for. Then because the movie had already started, I asked them to give me popcorn instead of the pretzel bites. The young lady says yes and begins to make the popcorn, then puts the bag down and took someone else order! What's worse is that the manager comes up behind her and tells me that I owe $0.85... $0.85 was not worth this review. The manager could have made it right and I also suggested for her to make it right and she did not. I told her as an inconvenience for me waiting all this time she should comp the $0.85 and allow me to go with the popcorn. She did not, I was required to pay the $0.85, and I did. I missed the beginning part of this movie . Then the reclining seats they have were so slim that I was literally too close to the next person. It is not this way at the other AMC's that I have visited. As a Premiere stubs member who always comes to AMC, I am very disappointed in the experience that I had. I would prefer a manager, (other than Crystal) to give me a reply for this review as she was not even apologetic for my wait time that could have totally been avoided. I would not recommend this AMC to anyone.

I have been going to this theater since I moved here in 1992, but it now has dropped below the level I would even consider seeing another movie at this theater. I went to see Captain Marvel at an afternoon show, and a row of self centered (fill in a body part) sat behind me. They continued to think they were in their own living rooms, and they wanted to discuss the obvious that was happening on the screen. (Apparently, if they could not talk about it, they could not figure out what was going on...) I do not need to go there anymore, and I won't. It has really been getting bad at this theater.

The theater was small but you can consider it intimate more than small. it's a nice place to see the movies though it's hidden in the back of the mall makes it a little scary but I guess it depends on the time of day I went in for a 10 show but still felt safe leaving it

Reclining seats are comfortable although theres not much of an incline (stadium) so you might be stuck seeing someone's head. The lines to buy tickets can be long (with only one cashier while other employees were just standing around). They need some kiosks for tickets.

Saw Venom. Everything was free thanks to my Stubs Premiere Membership. As a birthday gift you get a free popcorn and drink and I had Stubs point ($5) to use towards my ticket. Saw a show before 12pm. The staff was courteous and friendly and the place was clean. I have been an AMC movie goer for years and will return.

We went to the 12:30am showing of Captain Marvel and we enjoyed ourselves. The entrance of the theatre is hard to find, the AMC sign isn't placed above the entrance, rather over some random exit. Once inside, the theatre is clean and in good repair. The ticket counter staff was courteous and helpful, and the concession staff was quite efficient. No complaints. The viewing room was clean, small and easy to navigate - except that the seat numbers were hard to find. The theatre has reclining seats and they were all in working order. This was a late night showing of a new release, but it went without a hitch.

Finally they renovated this AMC and finally they added the chair recliners. Everything is nice clean. Tickets a bit pricey not much. Great atmosphere and great location to take your kids to and loved ones to watch a movie close by.

There were 2 lines--Line #1 for Premiere Members, Line #2 for "regular folks" Even though Line #2 was longer, the concession stand worker assisted people from Line #1 while Line #2's line grew longer and impatient. We waited and waited for service while the young lady behind the counter was in no hurry to service anyone. The manager was no help whatsoever in resolving the issue. Thank goodness the previews were long or else I would have missed the first part of the movie. It's safe to say I will NOT visit this location again.

This theater is going down the drain. First the ticket kiosk was shut down, and now tickets must be purchased at the concession stand. Is the theater understaffed? Perhaps -- but I observed a crowd of 3 theater employees having a lively conversation for the entire time the ticket queue was bottlenecked at concessions. Additionally, the lobby area smells like a buttery old public restroom. Disgusting. I would not recommend this theater to anyone under any circumstances.

Saw Venom. Everything was free thanks to my Stubs Premiere Membership. As a birthday gift you get a free popcorn and drink and I had Stubs point ($5) to use towards my ticket. Saw a show before 12pm. The staff was courteous and friendly and the place was clean. I have been an AMC movie goer for years and will return.

We went to the 12:30am showing of Captain Marvel and we enjoyed ourselves. The entrance of the theatre is hard to find, the AMC sign isn't placed above the entrance, rather over some random exit. Once inside, the theatre is clean and in good repair. The ticket counter staff was courteous and helpful, and the concession staff was quite efficient. No complaints. The viewing room was clean, small and easy to navigate - except that the seat numbers were hard to find. The theatre has reclining seats and they were all in working order. This was a late night showing of a new release, but it went without a hitch.

Since AMC re-acquired Academy 8 Theater and eventually remodeling I'm pleased w/ the redesign. The recliner seats are very comfortable and keep in mind it's assigned seating so if it's a popular film you might want to purchase your tickets online to get your preferred seating.. My only gripe is about the Premier Members special ticket line. When the theater is understaffed at the ticket booth I don't think it's fair to allow these customers to go ahead of other paying customers who have waited for several minutes to be attended to and they should endure the same wait.

Notice people inside around 12:15pm although now there are a few of us outside we have not received any acknowledgement and yet it’s 12:26pm . I am beyond confuse right now . Movie starts at 12:30pm and nothing ready in the snacks area neither . Problems happens sometimes that we can’t control but at least say something to us customers waiting outside not knowing rather or not you will open . It is now 12:28pm movie is scheduled for 12:30pm

Unbelievably mismanaged. They’re always understaffed. Just came from a movie where no one was at the ticket counter, you had to purchase your tickets at the concession stand as you can image the line was out the door. One time I came they didn’t have popcorn, none! at all! nor were the soda machines were working. There was a time when we sat in the movie and they never started movie. Once I sat in the movie only to realize they put on the 3D version instead of the normal movie. This place is a nightmare. The two stars is for the renovations.

No caution signs were up and no one was addressing the matter at all. There was at least an inch of standing water in the carpet and people's shoes were soaked. Why was management addressing this?!

My only complaint is the trailer for Melissa McCartney's new movie coming out was filled with nothing but garbage. The trailer was filled with swearing and was not appropriate for all audiences. I think AMC should have shown that at a much later time. My daughter and I were there to see a matinee at noon.

Good movie theatre. Reclining chairs, plenty of leg room. Location (plaza) is not great, but they're slowly working on it. Pho, subway, Chinese carryout, 3 brothers, Chipotle, a taco place all in mall or accross the street for a pre movie meal. If you're only going to the movie theater, you can park in the back, which is empty most of the time, and have quick access to the theatre.

Last two times i've gone here the theatre stank and the floor was EXTREMELY dirty. I would go back but the last time I went to see Jurassic Park I was really grossed out. The movie started 30 minutes after it was suppose to start because they forgot to play the movie. That was the only movie showing that time of night so I don't see how they forgot, we were literally sitting in the dark for 30 minutes, it was pitch black. All the employees seem to care about is socializing. Someone needs to clean this place bad! its a shame because the renovations were so nice but it smells and its dirty. Please clean it up! Back to the Regal in Hyattsville I go.
