It's been some time since I went to Spotlight Cinemas. I went to see Blade Runner 2049. I was very pleased with the theater as a whole, and I felt that the projection and sound quality here did this huge film justice. I will probably come here again.

The instant the closing credits began rolling, the brightest lights went on, ruining our experience of the film. The credits are a significant part of a movie, and we have always stayed to watch until the very end, in part to honor the many behind-the-scenes folk who make movies possible. When I complained to the manager, I was told that it was a "safety" issue. When I protested that the practice was annoying, rude, and disrespectful, I was told to leave the theater. In over 60 years of movie-going, I've never encountered this before, and the explanation was preposterous. If it were truly a safety issue, the lights would have to be turned on every time a patron steps out to the rest room or the concession stand--not to mention that the lights were dim when we entered the theater. This outrage occurred only so that they could start the next film as quickly as possible. Congratulations, Spotlight, for hammering another nail in the coffin of movie attendance.

I really like this theater. The staff are always friendly and the concessions aren't unreasonable. The only negative is that it's getting old. I still greatly prefer this theater over the other 2 local theaters, but it really is starting to show its age.

Love this little theater! Been going here since I went to UMaine and now that I live in Bangor, I make the trek up to Orono whenever I can. It's always clean, staff is helpful and friendly, and it's never overcrowded. Great place to catch a movie!

Staff is always friendly and helpful. Theaters and bathrooms are clean. My boyfriend has partial hearing loss but he can always hear the movies no problem here. The concessions are cheaper than Bangor, the popcorn is fresh and not overly salted/buttered.

Best theater in Maine. Super friendly, amazing prices, clean, great seats, what more could I ask. I like this place so much that I’ve considered working there. They get lots of early screening of movies such as ENDGAME or Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, and unlike Bangor, they don’t ID you to see an R Rated film. Probably my favorite place in Maine, because not only is it clean with great service and low priced, but it can quench my constant thirst for film.

We went to go see Instant Family for date night. Staff was great. Because it was Tuesday when we went, it was very cheap tickets. It's a local movie theater, so the interior needs some remodeling, but overall, it's our go-to for movies in town. My other knock is you can't use various apps with it (namely fandango) since it's an independent theater.

The seats are comfortable and have good leg room, for the cost of the admission for a movie is very pleasant but if you want to get some snacks or some sort of refreshments then it can get pricey. For movie theater I recommend it, they keep it clean and the people who work their are very friendly.

The price was fair and I would have paid the same price even if it wasn't in 3d, but if I had known that it was not going to be in 3d, I would have watched it at my local theater instead of driving 2 hours to this one.

While not as upgraded as the Bangor Mall Cinemas, always worth the experience. Popcorn doesn't make me feel sick here and it's more affordable as well. Been going to this theater since I was a kid and have never had a bad experience! Their Tuesday special is perfect for anyone who wants to save some cash and their holiday tickets are a great Christmas gift!

I wanted to go see the early release of Christopher Robin so I decided to cheat on my favorite Cinemas and go to the Bangor Mall Cinemas which was a huge mistake and made me appreciate Spotlight a thousand percent more. A really nice small movie theater. Clean, comfortable, good sound and visual. The only thing is their concessions are crazy expensive. More than $2 for a bottled water, and more than $3 for a Small soda (the small cups are insanely small too). On the plus side, they'll give you free tap water if you ask. They also have closed captioning devices, which is rare for small town theaters.

I've been coming Spotlight since it opened, back when they showed "Cheap Seat" movies. I think I actually go more now that they show "first run" titles. The prices are still real good and the theater is always neat and clean. Quite frankly, the seats may not be as comfortable as other places, but that's good thing! Sometimes at the other places, I'll doze off and take a nap during some of the slower pictures. Spotlight Rocks.

We arrived 40 minutes early to get the seat we wanted and settled in to the theatre before the movie, "IT," started. The seats quickly filled up and the movie started without issue. Just as we are meeting Pennywise, the villain, for the first time and the music builds up and Pennywise is about to do his first evil act, the movie stops. Lights thrown on and a theatre worker comes in and says "If you have an open seat next to you, you need to move over." The entire room shuffled around to open up more than just single seats for patrons who either arrived 10 minutes late or who asked for the cinema's help in find seats. So unacceptable. I have never had such an unprofessional experience in a cinema. The movie started again and 20 seconds after the movie played, the lights STILL on, we saw Pennywise's first terrible act and the motivation for the ENTIRE movie. Completely took you out of the experience and ruined the immersion for a while afterwards. On top of that, there were two smudges on the screen itself visible throughout the movie whenever a scene would show any light colors. The whole audience should not be punished for the carelessness of a handful of patrons who either showed up late or refused to break up their groups. I have seen cinema workers quietly move with a flashlight to help those who need it, but never have I seen or heard of the theatre stopping a movie right at the first huge reveal, turn on every light, have EVERYONE move, and then leave the lights on through the first major development in the movie.
