As a local resident I'm glad to have Smitty's, otherwise we'd have to drive an hour to see a movie. You get to multitask at Smitty's and eat dinner during the movie. It makes both experiences just OK. The food does a lot to ruin the magic of seeing a movie with a crowd. The movie ruins dining out.

Their new location is definitely a bit better quality than the old one even if it's a little harder to find. It doesn't help that some of the signage is still up at the old location. Their projection equipment is good. The theaters I've been in have had three different configurations of tables and seats depending how far from the screen you are. It's a good variety. I do wish they'd come up with a better system of delivering the check and taking payment. It can be very disruptive to have to stop watching the movie to handle these things. Recently the ticket/concession counter at the front of the house has been closed when our movie has ended. This makes it inconvenient or nearly impossible to get a refill, buy a snack, or make any comments on the way out. Finally, and this may be a small thing, what's with the sticking or latched exit doors? It's frustrating to have to try two or three doors to get out, especially at what should be a "new" facility.

We saw The Book Club this afternoon. Ordered fish and chips with onion rings and ultimate nachos. Food was good but pricey. The reason for only three stars was The Avengers was playing next door and it was so loud coming thru the wall that I could not enjoy the movie. Our movie was not loud enough and people were talking all through it.

I had never experienced Smitty's before 2007, but have gone at least monthly since then to see an array of movies. The service and food are both great, and the seating is desirable for all patrons. Not a bad seat in the house. Recommended for all ages. Birthday parties are a great experience too!

A fine passable theater. The staff is friendly, the projection/sound quality is good, previews are kept to a minimum, ticket prices are reasonable, and the food is decent. But it feels like it could be better. The theater feels like it's got one foot in the 90's and the other in contemporary times. It feels fairly tacky in some regards seeing all of the arcade machines sitting around even though I haven't seen that many people use them, even after coming out of packed movies. That and the seating could be better. They're basically office leather chairs and they feel cheap. Past couple of times I've been there, I've felt some degree of pain on my right arm resting on them. Still, if it's your only option, it could be a hell of a lot worse. It could be the Regal in Portsmouth.

Love this place. Tuesday tickets are 5 bucks, and are twins are free for now, so we all get in for 10 bucks. You can nm ordere fiid abd alcohol and service is typically quick. Similar to Chunkies but better prices than Chunkies.

I absolutely loved Smitty's Cinema! I went with my family to see Captain Marvel. We got amazing service, and our waitress was very friendly and made sure we had a great time. My kids also loved the arcade, and the milkshakes. We will definitely be back very soon!

No assigned seating makes it problematic since some folks use only part of a table and they say the theater is sold out even though there is sporadic seats. A mix of rows, tables and stadium seating impacts movie experience depending where you sit.

Ordered dinner 50 minutes before show as did the couple with us,they received their food in 10 min we never got ours until 15 minutes into show. Management compt the meal without us asking but it still was disappointing as our friends waited until their food was cold.We will eat before going next time.

My husband and I go literally once a week... it's pretty much our go to date night place. I love the new location and setups in the theaters but as friendly as their servers are, our food order has been screwed up nearly EVERY week. It's extremely frustrating. Last time they had no mustard...how the heck does a place that serves food every night run out of mustard? Regardless, we'll continue to go there.

We love going to smitty's. However this visit was very disappointing. We bought tickets online 2 days before and when we got there the theater that we were to see the movie in was closed for repairs and we were too late to see the movie in another theater. They should have contacted us or changed the website to say that the theater was closed. We were very bothered by this because we traveled an hour to see the movie and we got less than our money back.

It was a decent theater. If they didn't serve food at your seat I wouldn't like the theater. If it was just a restaurant I wouldn't really like the food. The theater has too many seats on one level. The screen is too small for the length of the theater. They leave the lights on for the movie, presumably so the servers can see. I'd prefer the servers to have flashlights and have the lights shut off. The potato skins were excellent, but the nachos were tasteless. They didn't have enough cheese. They were topped with lettuce and tomatoes and came with some plain salsa and sour cream. I'd stay away from the nachos. The seats were reminiscent of office chairs. They did swivel and recline. They are large enough to sit cross legged or with your legs tucked under you, but just barely. I didn't try the mixed drinks because I wasn't in the mood. I'm curious if they're any good.

Waited the entire movie for a server who never came by. We were the only two people in the entire theater, and unfortunately, if it wasn't costly to run the projector, or provide service then we needed to have been refunded and told to leave. However we sat hungry and waited, not wanting to miss part of the new movie we'd paid top dollar for to go chase a server down. Never once did someone come by for even so much as a drink order and quite frankly it made the movie miserable to sit through as I waited for it to end so I could go home and finally eat. So much for a relaxing lunch date.

Smittys Cinema is a great family experience. They serve amazing food at regular prices so it's easy to watch a movie at dinner time and have it served to you. They have ample room with spectacularly comfortable recliners. Only downfall is, they cannot guarantee you a table or seat with friends or family. You have to get there early to ensure you have seats together. Also, even with the room. It would be nice if ALL tables were rotated like the ones in the back of the room that way some people don't block even the smallest bit of view.

I took my son to see Hotel Transylvania on a rainy, stormy Tuesday afternoon. Tuesdays' admission is only $5, even for adults! The new location is nice, and clean. If you're going to eat lunch or dinner at the theater, I recommend getting there 30 minutes before showtime so you can decide what to eat and order. The server's name was Stacy, she was fantastic and seemed to know her stuff. The popcorn was good and I ordered buffalo wings. The buffalo was good and spicy and there was a good amount of meat on the wings. All in all we had a great time, the movie and experience were fun and we spent about $40 for everything. A bargain for an afternoon at the movies, if you ask me.

Third time we've been there with people talking throughout the movie and wait staff not saying anything about it. If you want to go enjoy a movie as an adult, this is not the place to go. We go to Portsmouth to the regal a lot as well and never have an issue with people non-stop talking through movie. We will just go there from now on.

Went to go see fallen kingdom and found out that the theater had moved without anything about it on the website. Then got to the right location to find that the movie times on their own website were incorrect and I would have to wait two hours until the next viewing. That was after waiting ten minutes for a person to show up at the desk, because unlike a well run business there was no electronic way to buy tickets and every person working the front was on break at once. Good way to lose costumers that drive 45 minutes to see a movie. Learn how to run a business please.

The young fellow who took our meal order before we began watching "Ant Man & the Wasp" was polite and informative about the menu. I felt guilty leaving a mess behind, sorry. Tickets to the movie 2 adults and 2 kids with dinner and a appetizer 130 bucks!!!! My youngest ordered the mac and cheese and it was nasty and she wouldn't eat it so we had to order her another meal, the waitress said nothing about taking it off the bill. Been there many times but will probably not return. Last couple of times we went it seemed to be going down hill even at there new location.

There are two sides to this so I'll split it up. The food is sold in the cinema. They handle it very well, there were only two instances where my view was blocked, and it was just for quick passes. The prices were higher than I expected, but definitely not extreme. The portions were average, and the food was OK. I ordered the iron man burger which has "extra bacon", which was basically $2 extra for one strip of bacon crumbled over the burger. Still, the novelty of doing both the dinner and the movie was different at least. Which brings me to the movie. I mentioned I had no issues seeing the screen. That was indeed the case, as they did an exceptionally good job managing that. I was not pleased that you're either across a wide table or behind/in front of whomever you're there with. Which, yes you shouldn't really be talking anyways, but it's a tradeoff to consider. I would go back again, I had no real bad experiences with them and have only heard good things. Still, be ready to drop a good amount of money for a 2 hour movie.

The movie was great! The food wasn’t bad but the service was horrible. Our waiter said to put the menu standing up and he would be right over. Now I wouldn’t want him coming in and out throughout the whole movie but I had my menu up for close to 30 minutes and he never came. I’m pregnant and all I wanted was water, so after waiting forever I decided to just Go to the front and get it mySelf and there was legit NO ONE to be found in the entire building NO ONE ! I waited about five more minutes, went to the bathroom came back and still no one. At this point I’m pissed so I go back to the movie so mad sit down all Pissed for another maybe 15 minutes finally My fiancé was so mad thought I was lying decided to go out himself and again there was NO ONE he waited almost 5 minutes and then found 6 employees walking out of a room he stated he needed a water and the young boy said sorry we were ALL on break. He then went to get him tap water my fiancé said no I want a bottle water the kid said sorry I don’t know the price to that, then my fiancé said I don’t care that’s what I want and have been waiting close to an hour now. Well at the end of it my fiancé had to pay $10 for a friggen bottled water. Absolutely horrible. Never will go to the Sanford location again. They need more managers on more adults.
