First time in over 12+ years that I've been to a drive in theater and I was surprised and impressed with the quality of the production. Digital projection and stereo sound broadcast over an FM frequency... last time I went (a different theater) digital projection was not an option and the sound was broadcast over the AM band and definitely not in stereo. This looked and sounded phenomenal. Menu was limited but about half what you'd expect to pay at a traditional theater. Wicked fries sounds awesome but I ate before I came so I just bought a 16.9 oz. bottled water for $1.75, my nephew got a drumstick ice cream cone for I think $2 and later a tub of cotton candy for about the same price. Pricey but still cheaper than indoor theaters. My only 2 issues, which really are just small ones, was for the first 30ish minutes of SOLO I could not see much of anything on the screen since it was still too light out. I understand why they started it when they did, because the runtime of both movies carried us to just after 1am, but it still sucks to miss the beginning of such an anticipated movie. And the other issue is someone needs to be regularly walking the lot to catch smokers. The guy and his wife next to me were chain smoking near constantly and the breeze was carrying it into my car. The only truly unpleasant thing about this trip. All in all though the experience was spectacular... add some better food options and patrol the lot for smokers and you'll get 5☆ from me.

The movies are all based on younger kids this year. You can't bring your dog here, but you can to the Bangor drive-in which also offers a second screen for different ages and theme.

We watched back to back horror films and the screen was so dark in some scenes that we could bearly see the movie. So better lights would be a great idea.

A piece of American history... To those of us that actually grew up in a time before the multiplexes, when every town had a drive in...and if you were really lucky yours had 2...or even 3 screens!!!! Support this and every drive in left in the state of Maine before a part of history is gone...and with it...an experience that every child should have and will cherish forever.

I love the driving and so do the kids usually always play a double feature unless something gets rained out. Snack Shack has all your entertainment Staples such as hot dogs chips and snacks although they are frequently out of hot food. Some weeks they do repeat the same movies as the previous week

Our family has been going hear for a couple years now and the staff is always amazing. They even help out if your battery dies because you're there for five hours. Not that that happened to us.

I have been coming here for over 30 years! The people are nice and the snack bar is decent. There are usually kids playing in the grass in front of the screen before the show. It is always a pleasant experience.

There are plenty of places that offer a great screen view. The concessions are reasonably priced. Bring a blanket and a sweatshirt; Maine gets cold in EVERY season at night!

My daughter and I had a great time at the Skowhegan Drive in last night. We went to see The Lion King and she really enjoyed the movie. The place was about 2/3rds full so there was plenty of room and we got a really good spot in row 4. She ran around and played before the movie started, and got popcorn and cotton candy for snacks. The admission price was fair and even though we left before the second movie, I'm really happy for the memories made. I had not been here for a while, but it was alot of fun and I am sure we will be back again at some point. A lot of people were sitting outside their vehicles and overall it was a good family night at the drive in!

Pretty awesome being able to go to a drive in in 2016. Definetly recomend going if you get the chance. Try to get there early though so you can park close. We were near the back and it was a bit hard to see

I have been to this establishment twice with my son and we are hooked! Up to date movies, clean area with adequate parking and facilities. They host a variety of foods and drinks at the snack bar. I especially appreciate that it is well managed and bad behavior is not tolerated. An excellent family experience. Sadly, Drive-in Theaters are a dying breed. As a child, it was a huge treat was to attend a movie at the drive-in. It was a summer tradition. I hope that people reading will be inspired to support this location, as well as others throughout our State, to prevent them from closing. Thank you, Skowhegan Drive-in!!!! Keep 'em coming!!!

The drive-in in Skowhegan! I'm glad it still exists. I just found this out on Google Maps. In 1990, my dad, my brother, and I worked on the #3 paper machine at the (former) S.D. Warren paper mill down the road in Hinckley. I remember driving past this drive-in a few times on the way to the New Balance factory in town. I'm happy to see that it's still open. Sadly. so many of them have closed. Please patronize this small business so that this piece of American history can survive.
