I seldom go to the theater but this is one of those places that just makes you feel at home. The seats are wonderfully comfortable and the sound system is perfect. We attended a movie here with a hundred and twenty eighth graders and everyone enjoyed the show

Most of the rooms in this theater have good seats. A little tip: if you sit in the middle aisle just below where the handicapped seating is, no one can kick your seat :)

Going to a movie with a bucket of popcorn and a Friend is the best way to spend an early afternoon! Narrow Gauge Cinema is my favorite place to go, and yes, has new release movies. Friendly service, comfty chairs, best of all, the prices make it so am able to see two of those that have been "dieing to see" movies. Other local theaters are comfty, but have found, just the senior matinee ticket cost is more than the ticket, popcorn and drink at Narrow Gauge. Thank you for providing an affordable form of entertainment in our area!!

This has been a staple in my life for as long as I remember so, bringing my family home for the weekend I was anxious to take them to the theater, unfortunately it is not what I remembered. There were no arcade games for kids, tickets were bought outside, rather than inside. The popcorn was stale and tasted acrid. The employees showed little to no professionalism, and were very slow. I waited 10 minutes for a small popcorn and soda. I asked if they had nachos or something besides popcorn and candy and got a snobbish look and a response from one of the employees who was annoyed and said no. Upon getting inside the theater where we were watching the movie, seats were ripped, smelled like cow manure in the room and the floor was sticky. The theater had little to no air conditioning, and was quite uncomfortable between seats pinching my legs and no air. The resolution of the screens appeared to be outdated as well. I asked for a refund of my money speaking to an older woman with graying hair and she refused. The theater its self is run down. But, now has a grille and drive in, both of which I was not allowed to utilize gift certificates at. Advertising for these new areas, yet there needs to be a level of upkeep. The place looked unsanitary, and honestly it was a true disappointment. My family and I should have just rented a movie from red box, but we chose an adventure and recieved the worst customer service and sat in the most dingy dirty sticky smelly run down theater in Maine.

Love this place. It was redone when I was a kid and they've always tried to bring the best to that college town. It's personal and quiet and clean. People don't talk during the movie like they do in Auburn and south of there (maybe that's a testament to the population, not the theater) and the staff is warm and friendly. Honestly, this cinema is the bar I hold others to. I'm glad to see them continue to develop and improve their business.

Comfortable seats! Great local place to go to see a variety of the most popular, current release movies. They have a very inexpensive snack bar with popcorn (I think a medium popcorn is $4), candy and beverages. On occasion they offer warm, spiced nuts and warm cookies that are huge. (I wish that they consistently offered both of these). During the summer months this cinema also has a drive-in (around back) and an outdoor restaurant where you can eat dinner AND watch a movie at the same time!

Family tradition to see movies here on the holidays, however, this Easter when we saw they were showing the anti-abortion film Unplanned....we decided to boycott the Narrow Gauge. We drove to Waterville to see a movie at a theater NOT showing Unplanned. Apparently downtown Farmington and UMF are no longer safe from the hee haw white nationalism and jeebus freaks that overrun the rest of Franklin County.

This is an excellent theater, with with the ability to show 7 movies at the same time. The cinematic experience at Narrow Guage is desirable. I recently had the pleasure of watching a movie here and I always enjoy it. The food prices are also relatively cheap as well. I would prefer going here than a big chain theater for sure. I would highly recommend it.

When I tell people outside of Maine that this theater exists, they don't believe me. Narrow Gauge gets the major movie releases on opening weekend, and the prices are less than half of what you'd pay in any city. It may not have all the food options of the chain theaters like Cinemagic or Regal, but it has popcorn, candy and soda. Call me crazy, but that's all I'm really looking for in the first place. Highly recommended.

It's not like the move theater chains but it sure does act like one with the large list of movies always playing. Sure the movies might premier much later than they're released but it seems like they try hard to get all the popular Hollywood titles at one point. Still have not tried their drive in but looking forward to the opportunity.
