1 star because they do not have water fountains and would not let me bring in my own clear water bottle. Water should not be regulated like that. Other that that, the theater was not crowded. The staff were friendly and the tickets not too expensive. Please change your water rule. : )
Not my favorite movie theater in the area but it does it's job! It's been newly renovated, which is great because it needed it. I've never been treated poorly by the staff, they always seem ready to help and very friendly.
They wouldn't let me bring in a water bottle from home that had boiled water for my baby's bottle. They also don't have changing tables in the restroom. Anytime the baby needed a bottle or diaper change I had to go all the way to my car. Luckily for me and my newborn it's summer. Won't be coming here in the winter!
Spent a Saturday here watching Avengers Captain Marvel and then Avengers Endgame. It was a great day. Theater was clean, seats were comfy. Food was pricey, which it is at any theater. We ate at the pizza place next door. I would go hear again, especially for the matinees.
Movie not loud enough with all the people in the theater. The popcorn was stale, not enough butter and no salt. The orange soda didn't have enough orange syrup in it.
Great little place to watch a movie
Nice theatre but high food and drink prices.
Great service and seldom crowded. Love going here!
Always clean! Comfortable seating. And fresh popcodn.
Horrible Service. The manager was very rude and doesn’t know how to speak and listen to customers.
Pretty standard seating, not stadium, at least in the one we were in. Had plenty of room to accommodate wheelchairs, which was nice. Decently sized as well. Overall a pretty decent place.
Excellent small town movie theater in a newly renovated strip mall.with lots of parking. The staff is very nice and helpful lots of popcorn and candy available and the individual theatres are clean with comfortable seats. The screen quality is excellent, all digital makes for a nice experience. We saw Skyscraper staring the Rock who, I must say, has really improved his acting skills in his last several films.
I know it was a while back but the renovations are still real comfortable and I love that they take your food order and movie ticket order at the same time
1 star because they do not have water fountains and would not let me bring in my own clear water bottle. Water should not be regulated like that. Other that that, the theater was not crowded. The staff were friendly and the tickets not too expensive. Please change your water rule. : )
Very comfortable and great sound!
Great place. It looks fantastic after all the renovations they did! The people that work there are friendly!
What can you say, it's a movie theater. Seats are comfortable enough & recline slightly. Men's bathroom was really cold. Way overpriced concessions, same as almost all theaters!
The seats are so high that a child would have a hard time seeing over them.
Comfortable seating and clean
(Update 2017) Recent renovations has renewed this theatre and its patrons. I have yet to return myself, but I have high hopes for this season to do so. It's more local to me. I'm eager to go back. For now, just for the update, and renovations I will give this 5/5.
Favorite movie place close to our place in the Lakes Region
Best local theater! The staff, especially Jacinda, are very helpful and dedicated to make the experience great. Keep up the good work.
Not my favorite movie theater in the area but it does it's job! It's been newly renovated, which is great because it needed it. I've never been treated poorly by the staff, they always seem ready to help and very friendly.
Perfectly reasonable spot to catch a first run flick.
They took my metal water bottles because “they sell water here” who wants to spend $3 on a bottle of water!? Which sent me and my 2 younger sisters into the theatre with a popcorn and NO WATER! Very angry, probably will never go back
They wouldn't let me bring in a water bottle from home that had boiled water for my baby's bottle. They also don't have changing tables in the restroom. Anytime the baby needed a bottle or diaper change I had to go all the way to my car. Luckily for me and my newborn it's summer. Won't be coming here in the winter!
Nice clean cinema and good staff - priced right too.
Great small town charm with the usual good food, seating, and staff who always ensure a good show and answer all your questions. Restrooms were clean and kids loved the little arcade while I waited. Felt safer than larger theaters. Called to find ticket prices as they're unavailable online and found the recorded voice a little too sexy for a theater, a bit creepy, but the information was still there.
Outside looks rough but inside it's beautiful and modern. Popcorn is delicious but then again isn't all movie theater popcorn fantastic? :)
Great movie theater
A little bit tattered, but the choice of movies was great, the seats were reasonably comfortable, and it wasn't too cold, as some theatres can be. The popcorn was way too expensive ($5 for the smallest bag, which was quite small!), but that seems to be true in every movie theatre.
We love our local theater!! Staff is wonderful, friendly and polite. Theater & bathrooms always clean. Popcorn & snacks always fresh. Movies always current!!
Good selection. Nice layout. Great parking.
Great place! Clean and friendly staff!!
Attended an afternoon movie today. Staff was friendly. The theater was nice & the mocie, Darkest Hour, was very good.
Good popcorn, comfortable seats
Not much has changed here since I lived in Gilford in high school
Good cinema...we will go again
My favorite place to take the kids to see a movie. Comfrey chairs, reasonably priced, and good service.
Spent a Saturday here watching Avengers Captain Marvel and then Avengers Endgame. It was a great day. Theater was clean, seats were comfy. Food was pricey, which it is at any theater. We ate at the pizza place next door. I would go hear again, especially for the matinees.
Antiquated, seats are horrible.
I am going to start off by saying that we walked into this theater and immediately walked out it was so bad. The maintenance and cleaning was off putting from first stepping foot inside, but we wanted to see a movie so we persisted to the counter. Once there we were yelled at by one of the managers, he rudely told me that he would not let me in with a "backpack" and that he would have to confiscate it until the end of the movie. It was really a small drawstring bag which I tried to explain that I used instead of a purse. And I was willing to show him that all I had inside was my wallet, phone, and glasses (I was not trying to bring in food or anything). Not to mention that several other women were entering with purses three times larger than my bag. He refused and said he would need to hold it at the concession stand until we left, so we just left and went to see the movie somewhere else. I am still horrified by the lack of customer consideration.
Love the remodel, super comfortable chairs very clean always lots of movie choices
Horable cinema. The new management is rude. Take the drive go to Hookset or to Concord. If like small go to Meredith or even Smitties in tilton. They have food delivered to your seat
Nice new seats. Very comfy.
Good place to watch a movie. Comfy seats with lots of leg room. Although we could hear the movie next door. Looks of bangs. We saw "The Dark Tower" next door was "Dunkirk".
We went to see The Post yesterday 4PM. Noticed strong mildew/mold smell in that theater (2nd to last on right) as we found seats. By end, all were coughing and hoarse. Like convenience of Gilford 8. Will demand money back if notice again.
Very bare bones theater. Small rooms with no reclining seats
Good cinema, recently updated. Wish the walls were thicker so you don't get the noise from other movies, but overall a good place to catch a movie.
I've been in town since May have been trying to see a movie and every time I come by they are NEVER OPEN!!! I MEAN WTH... I tried again yesterday for the 1215 movie of jurassic park..... place closed. Multiple cars with families and several other couple cars. I left messages and no return call. I mean seriously how do they even have a business..?? I would just like to see a frickin movie
They have remodeled this theatre. It's really done well. The seats are comfortable and the sound is clear and crisp. The experience is a nice one.
They moved the general manager from Athol Cinemas 8 to Gilford. She is a nightmare and doesn't follow any health codes. STAY AWAY
Decent prices, friendly staff and current movies...close to home!
Great for a late night movie, Just watched Hobbs & Shaw tonight, tomorrow I ship to Parris Island, thank you for my final memory as a civilian!
Great movie but exspensive
The whole Plaza is undergoing a huge upgrade, paking, building exterior, interior, new seating, they doing a great job!
Very nice! the updated exterior looks great.
Fun on a rainy day
Clean and good prices!
Nice movie theater with comfortable rocking chairs.
so first i get told i can’t watch IT Chapter 2 because im only 15 years old, what difference is an adult going to do for me. also, im in town for vacation, and I’d much rather not spend $4 on ONE bottle of water. are you serious? go to a different movie theater, this place just makes me angry, everything about it.
The theater was dirty, needed to be cleaned, and the staff were all rude..
I like what they did to the place. Nice comfy seats good food selection. Plenty of leg room. Only thing they need is something to put your feet on since the chairs recline
Not a bad place to see a movie in central new Hampshire.
Good variety of latest movies, clean, very courteous staff
Nice place to watch movies put make sure if you are young and are going on a date if it is rated "R" you both MUST have your IDs
Newly renovated cinema, very clean. First run movies.
We went there last week, the seats there rock!! I mean really rock! So comfortable you almost feel like your in your own chair. We went and saw My Boyfriend the Spy Dump Me. Awsome comedy. Very clean nice movie theater. We will be going again.
Never really packed which is good. Feels old and outdated but still a good theater
No comment on concession prices, never been to a movie theater where they weren't excessive so I just don't bother with them. The theater itself was nice, comfortable, friendly staff. No complaints!
Quiet
I've always like going to Gilford cinemas, but this time, with their new seats, I had a hard time seeing over the seats in front of me. I'm 5'2", and the tops of the seats in front of me covered the bottom part of the screen. I would imagine it'd be very hard for a kid to watch a movie there. The floor needs more of a grade.
Its the only theater in town.. But however its usually clean and staff is pretty good. They just need to pay more attention to the complaints on loud movie goers and people sneaking in..
Newly renovated... seats now tip back...
Clean and very well kept
Small AF but also is a good thing. Was not crowded but popcorn cost the same...
Good quality theater and fair prices for today's theaters
They did a great job buttering my popcorn.
long lines due to understaffing and "computers" being down.....
Amazing service and friendly staff and great viewing experience
Close and easy. We'll take it.
Cheap movie going experience always good
This movie theater has a small town feel with new seats and indoor decor. We enjoy the friendly employees and lack of crowds most days of the week.
Recently updated... A+
Can't believe its 8 bucks for a matinee. Horrible
New chairs, a little more comfortable. Sound system is ok, like the theater overall. They donate to Non-profits as a great member of the community.
Excellent movie theater - clean, good snacks, very nice staff! Very positive experience
Comfortable chairs, nice staff, great sound,. Quality picture
Great selection of movies, friendly helpful staff, comfortable seats, and reasonable prices. Sound was a little loud but there were so few of us at this showing that it was just set for a full crowd. All in all it was a great movie experience!
Movie theatre was big and very busy. They have a snack counter with the usual junk food.
Like this place more since remodel. Chairs are comfortable, screens and sound are very good. The staff is friendly. The movie price is very good.
I love it here! It has really good popcorn, the seats are clean by the time I go on to them, the arcade is really fun the little ones love it! We always go here because its close and there closing it down soon to make it better. I love it here so should a lot of people!!!!:)
Great prices. Family friendly
This place is great could use an update but easy to get to very comfortable seats! They seem to always have a great selection of movies all times of the day and night
The seats are comfortable and prices are great!
Since upgrading the chairs and such, it's , much better. Far more comfortable. Prices for drinks and snacks are outrageous! It was 4.50 for a SMALL FOUNTAIN SODA. Which was a 12oz cup overfikled with ice. Not to mention that the staff is super awkward. If it weren't for those 2 factors I would give it a higher rating.
FYI They don't show previews so the movie actually starts at the scheduled time.
Amazing on the inside .....colorful on the outside.... very.....colorful.
Great time with my son..
Great clean theater. Got to buy tickets ahead of time too.
New seats are not that comfortable to sit in. They really don't allow you to lean back the spring In the seat wants you to sit up straight
Comfortable, well stocked with goodies, popcorn is tasty and usually nice collection of first run movies.
Great quality. Overpriced food, faulty arcade machine.
The theaters are nice and clean as well as the rest rooms. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The lobby has video games and air hockey for fun before or after a movie.
Decent theater good prices for tickets wasn’t a huge fan of the 3D movies they aren’t high quality 3D movies unfortunately. Wouldn’t recommend for 3D just see the standard one and pay less
This place has taken a drastic downturn in service and cleanliness
Nice cinema. Clean and comfortable seats
It was nice although they did not accept My Neighborhood Theatre comp tickets from CHaD. Kind of a bait and switch game they got going there not to mention the INSANE pricing for candy. Gas station across the street is way cheaper.
Nice local theatre. Tends to run current movies.
Popcorn is great and the seats are updated to comfortable leather with drink holders. I go here all the time. One in a while , The popcorn was so salty I couldnt eat it. I did complain. Over all a great theater for a small town. I
Excellent movie theater - clean, good snacks, very nice staff! Very positive experience
Poor management on a rainy holiday weekend. Forcing patrons to stand in line for refreshments when all the want is a ticket to see a movie. More interested in the
a country venue small but clean and good location
Drove over an hour to watch Aladdin but they didn't update the list online and we couldn't watch it.
Needed water because I needed to take my medicine because I have epilepsy and I can't afford water from here. Then one of the employees took my water bottle away
Workers kinda childish but was clean. There was some aggravating kids laughing alot when wasnt a comedy not times when you should be laughing local kids im sure
Good seating, ok pricey snacks, good audio and visual
Matinee was $8. Comfortable seating and climate. Good sound.
Took the grandkids to see Power Rangers the day it came out and it was very nice and quiet.. Kids loved it!!
It would appear that within the last year, they put new seats in and they're comfortable. The staff is kind and efficient.
The best of the theaters in the lakes region, comfortable seating, good sound, cinema house atmosphere.. Popcorn is good.. And the staff is friendly
This theater is very comfortable and is rarely over-crowded. It has been remodeled recently so it's very clean and really comfortable seats. They seem to always have a nice selection of movies to include all genres and appeal to a wide range of ages. I'm knocking off a star because some of the staff are not that friendly and you can hear other movies from adjacent theater rooms which can be distracting. But over all this is my theater of choice.
I’d say realistically I can give it 2 1/2 stars. Pros-Cheap($20)for a matinee ticket, popcorn, and soda, pleasant staff(even though they seemed short staffed)good selection of films for a small theater. Cons-out of date theater(small screen, old uncomfortable seating) Movie started too soon(went for a 130 showing, walked in at 132 and the movie had already begun)Temperatures were inconsistent(too warm in theater and too cold in bathroom)Theater smelled musty and stale(You need to update and deep clean)Sound was way way too loud both in my theater and others, my theater would literally shake during loud scenes in other rooms. Final thought-Theater could be good but I won’t return.
The staff at the Cinema were pleasant, competent, and courteous. The cinemas are small but the screens are large enough to get the cinema experience. The chair backs recline and are comfortable. The theater was clean
Just got out of Dunkirk, the sound system is so poor in this place I could only understand about 30% of the dialogue. Don't waste your money in this place. They seem to be to cheap to upgrade the audio system. Also, if you are short, you will have a tough time seeing over the head of the folks in front of you.
Wow! it's hard to believe a theater like this is still in business. The place is small and I knew that going in but the popcorn and pretzel we got were cold and the theater was having furnace issues so it was about 50-55 degrees in there. We were also not informed that there wouldn't be any heat in there. The screen was blank until 5 minutes after the showtime, then played the wrong thing before starting the right movie. The place just seemed unprepared for patrons on a Saturday night at 7 o'clock. It was just a really weird experience. My wife thought the place was closed when I suggested it and now I know why.
All new seating...if the movie you picked is bad, you can sleep comfortably!
Pretty nice new set up with the new seats and good prices with tickets. I dont come here often but i just saw an action packed movie here tonight and thought my ears were bleeding when i left. The movie was waaaayyyy too loud.

Loved it clean plenty of parking. And a pizza restaurant next to it. Perfect!
Solid local theater with comfy seats and a great sound system. It was recently updated
Not too busy, nice staff. However some theaters still had trash in it, even after JUST opening
Great little theater, friendly staff and fair prices! For the locals it's a great options if you don't want to drive over to Tilton or all the way to Concord.
Kind of dumpy. Prices are great.
Clean seats are comfortable good sound
Good God, please light the bathrooms. Otherwise an ok place.
This is a fine theater for 2D or 3D movies, however they have a persistent mold problem in theater 7 that they have failed to acknowledge or fix.
Good theater. It has all up to date digital equipment and it's clean. I really should give it five stars. The only reason I don't it's because the building is a party of a strip mall. But ergo really cares
This is a funky movie theater in a great location. The owner of the mall where this place is just remodeled the exterior - fall / winter 2016,2017 - and it looks nice and modern. The individual theaters are comfortable, the sound system is superb and all in all it's a great place to see a movie. The concessions are what you'd expect and the prices are fair. Remember, these theaters LIVE OR DIE on concession sales because the giant movie makers keep most of the ticket sales for themselves. So if you want to see movies locally, then BUY a drink, popcorn, or box of candy. If you don't, the movie theater could disappear. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is simple because it's not a brand-new facility. But who cares about that if the viewing experience is excellent? Oh, and there's plenty of parking. They have a HUGE lot.
The remodeling done here makes this theatre so much nicer. There is an arcade to keep you occupied while waiting for your movie and the prices were decent.
Comfortable seating, good clear picture and sound. We were two of four in the theater, sort of a surprise on a rainy day.
Nice small theater. Upgraded a couple of years ago.
Usually not packed but busy great seats great screens
Prices were good movie great
Employees are polite. Seating is clean and comfortable. Very seldom is it crowded. I always got a ticket, haven't experienced any sell outs. I enjoy this movie theatre!
Great venue... Not at all busy
Very nice inside especially since the remodel. Snacks and drinks are pricey but I expect that from the movies. Workers are friendly and helpful.
Top Shelf New Look Very Clean
It's always good but we are used to theaters out West where the movies are cheaper and you get l free refill on the drinks and popcorn. Sometimes I'd just rather wait to rent movies after they come out and make my own popcorn. Can't afford it for two much less taking the grandchildren. :-(
Always clean and employees are friendly
I’d say realistically I can give it 2 1/2 stars. I'm not a big movie guy, but when I go, they do it right. The seating is very comfortable, which makes it easier for me to fall asleep when my wife makes me go to movies that I can't keep my eyes open for! LOL
A little pricey but great service and theaters.
Showed up for the Monday 1:00 movie and there were 20+ people waiting to get inside but no one there to open the door. Was supposed to be a noon movie but it was closed. Signs, website and Facebook said they were open for noon movie. Poor management!
My husband and I just went tonight and the theater is so nice since it's been renovated!
Friendly staff, always clean.
Pretty good cinema I've been to better
deserves -1 stars. They have an rated R policy where the ticket has to be purchased by a parent instead of simply someone over 21. They also wouldn't let us buy popcorn if we weren't going to the movie and were rude overall. Their sign has three letters not lit up and there is a ton of construction equipment in the lobby, because they clearly don't care about customer service. The parking lot is poorly maintained and is dirty, with half the lights out. I feel unsafe walking from my car to the theater. The members of my group are incredibly unhappy now and our night is ruined.
I've been going here for years and it's always been the most convenient theater to go to. Now that it's been revamped, its only gotten better!
Always a good place to watch a movie!
Older in refurbished movie theater. Compared to newer places pretty unremarkable. Not terribly comfortable seating.
Fun
Small theater but nice seats.
This is a ghetto business. Its clear the owners are running it at absolute lowest price possible. And no business works without solid investment. About the only game in town so that's why we go there. The food is awful. Their chips don't taste fresh, the cheese they put on them tastes like luke-warm liquid plastic, and the popcorn tastes like they popped it yesterday and reheated it. The staff is a bunch of young brats that need babysitting by their boss, and will mouth off to you regarding any questions you might have. The screens frequently mess up too. We once attended a movie that shut down all together and the staff were completely clueless until I walked out and got their attention.
Love our cinema! Just wish the movie titles were posted outside on the marquis
Nice, clean place. Little disappointed in being able to hear the movie next door, but over all nice.
Seats are nice but not that comfortable for a 3 hor movie
