Have always liked this place. Made reservations this evening. Arrived a couple minutes beforehand and hostess told us they were in a shift change...give them a couple minutes. Asked if we could go to bar, which had several open spots, and she said no. Then watched her seat two walk in parties of two (which we were). When questioned answer was will get to us. Apparently they do not value customers who are considerate enough to make reservations. Too bad as we will not attempt to eat there again.

Can be noisy at the prime meal times. Service is professional, but a bit slow at times. We waited 15 mins for our salad to arrive, but we were not in a hurry. LOVE their gluten-free selections. Food is excellent, though pricey, so I don't go as often as I'd like.

Is a lovely place!! Old style chairs and tables, the walls looks like a place in Morocco, amazing, for entries they serve a huge and super crunchy bowl of nachos with a delicious mix wooow I really like the experience. Recommended!!

I was very excited to eat here based upon all of the amazing reviews. I have to say “underwhelmed” is the best thing I can say. While the atmosphere is great and the view beautiful the wait for food on a weeknight was excessive. When it finally did come it was good but not at the price and not for the wait. I wanted to really like it but my recommendation would be to focus on one thing and do it well vs. trying to do it all.

I took the food to go. The price was a bit pricey but the food taste amazing. I had the vegan nachos and the jerk taco. The Jerk taco has an amazing flavor. But I wish they would give more for the money. Looks like a good atmosphere no I didn't stay to eat. I would come back here again.

Frontier was most excellent! They have changed the use of space, so now there is a lot more room in the dining area that makes it feel more comfortable. The entrance to the theatre is now near the front desk, so you don't have to traipse through the dining area. As usual, the food was fabulous, although we were a little sad they have changed the way they make the sweet potato fries, but they were still really good. Dessert is also wonderful....I suggest trying the Apple cake

I had the Middle Eastern Marketplace. Everything about this was fantastic, the falafel was awesome, naan was perfect, just amazing all around. The hidden star was the chutney though... Geez guys, I kinda want to go here all the time now......

Absolute best date night, birthday night, dinner ever! We had a table by the window, very romantic, and a great view. Curry mussels are the BEST!! Service is outstanding! Attentive yet private dining. Ten thousand times better than any other fine dining date night restaurant on the midcoast. New birthday and valentine's day one favorite!!!

It's been fun to watch Frontier grow over the years, and it stands as our favorite hub / bar / restaurant in Brunswick, which is saying something. The food is great and affordable, the space is amazing, the staff is friendly and the view of the falls and river is spectacular.

Frontier is a great spot. This was my first time coming here, and although finding the driveway was difficult at night, it was well worth it. The menu is very eclectic, but what I had was done very well. We started splitting the Brussels sprouts, which were excellent. I followed that up with a Korean Noodle bowl with added salmon and creme brulee. I did make a mess of myself eating the noodle bowl, but I didn't care. I was unaware they also show movies in a back room regularly. I haven't obviously been to one, but judging by the excitement of my friend that told me about it, combined with the quality of the food I had, I fully plan on making my way up from Portland to go to one. Would absolutely recommend Frontier.

Great atmosphere, friendly service. Portion to cost is highly unbalanced. French fries cold upon serving. Both myself and guest got the fish n chips for $20 each. Way over priced and we both were sick an hour after leaving. We WILL NOT be back and I recommend ownership/management take time to audit quality control before Serv safe police show.

Gluten-free person reporting: so many unique & excellent options on the menu here, it's a must-stop if you are avoiding gluten for whatever reason. The GF fish&chips are better even than the Legal Seafood version. We didn't drink but the cocktail and beer list looks excellent. Loved the airy dining room & views of the waterfalls.

I really wasn't impressed by this place. My cocktail was terrible (it had many interesting sounding ingredients but all it tasted like was the beet vodka - maybe they killed it with generosity?). The pasta I ordered was a ridiculously huge portion size and really not very good. The pasta was at least three minutes overcooked, yuck. The appetizers weren't great either - the brussel sprouts were the best thing on the table, and at least the service was nice and sympathetic?

Beautiful setting in an historic industrial building overlooking the river. The film programme here is enviable. Where else would one get to see a contemporary German film set in Bulgaria, and get to drink a wine of the same inspiration ? The restaurant itself (props to the bar !) and the coffee shop, too, are good enough to frequent regularly.

Stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant while we were in town visiting Bowdoin. Jenn was an excellent waitress. The ginger molasses hummus was the best hummus I've ever had. We also enjoyed a spiced coconut gin cocktail. What an excellent dinner!

The menu LOOKED awesome, gluten free fish and chips, kimchi, lots of creative dishes. But the reality was that all of the dishes TASTED bad! Each and every dish was a huge disappointment, the flavor was really off. The kimchi was awful, the fish and chips tasted really weird and the fish was too thick and undercooked, the mussels were awful- the curry sauce was almost inedible- very strange consistency and yucky flavor. Even the chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie was off- it tasted only like marzipan (almond extract). They need a new chef and some much improved recipes. Cool space, great view, nice staff, BAD FOOD.

They've changed... They have overcomplicate everything basic and delicious to the point of revolting insanity and their burger now suddenly tastes like dead rats. Their so hoity-toity, that they have to make their own cola, which tastes awful! They used to be sort of okay, but they SCREWED UP AGAIN!!!

With severe diet restrictions, this place offers us some peace of mind. Lots of great tasting alternatives on the menu that take the stress out of eating out for our family. It is really delicious! The prices reflect the quality of the ingredients and the art of crafting creative dishes and although it's not inexpensive it feels worth it! The atmosphere is insane, with huge windows and light and views of the water. We can't wait to go back!!!

Food is delicious! I had the beef brisket! Prices are to the high side and menu is small, however what I had was delicious! Both times I went service is very slow, so don't go hungry. Nice spot on the river in an old mill.

A place that can be great for a date, or with your family (maybe not the tiniest kids, but a good "fine dining" experience for most kids without the pressure of many fine dining locations). Very nice setting being in the Fort overlooking the river. High quality food, though a bit more pricey, had a Frontier Burger - now have to add bacon. One con is when they have a live band the sound is too large for the space.

Lobster roll incredibly unsatsfactory with barely 2 ounces of lobster, not worth the 27$. Disgusting to charge so much for less than 2 ounces of lobster cushioned by 5 oz of lettuce and celery.

Very trendy and interesting arts venue and restaurant. The restaurant is located on an old warehouse but is very hard to find in the dark. There is a theater on premise which is attached but separate from the restaurant. Staff were all polite and helpful. Menu isnt huge but has a nice mix of dishes with a decidedly healthy undertone. Food was generally good but just slightly missed expectations resulting in a 4 star rating instead of 5. Ability to book online was a plus.

Both were overly rich, fatty plates. Great beer selection and small but good wine list. The combination of food and performance space is very cool idea.

Visited The Frontier for a late Sunday evening dinner. I absolutely loved the atmosphere as repurposed mill space is always an excellent idea and adds to the unique quality of the establishment. Menu options were plentiful and it was awesome to see so many vegan options. Food was excellent and dessert options were varied and delicious. I must also add that the views were spectacular. It was so cool to look over a hydro dam while eating. Really excellent place to dine.

I only went to the theater there so I am not sure about the food or service. The theater is quaint and cozy and you can bring food from the restaurant in with you, there is table settings inside. The seats are old style theater seats that look nice but are a bit stiff for sitting an extended period of time.

All around an excellent place to dine. This place has character, the pictures hanging on the walls and the menu itself. Chaga coffee is offered!? Frontier is a gem of a restaurant. The space is gigantic and has multiple functions. There was a little craft market going on the night we went. Grabbed a beer and walked around that while we waited for our table. The host actually came to grab us when the table was ready, earlier than anticipated, and did not at all make a fuss about coming to get us. The food was great and worth going for again to further explore the menu!
