Get weird and get out to see the latest movie screenings at New Orleans historic Broad Theatre. No reason not to celebrate the return of this historic, beautiful building being back in business and serving our local community latest hit films. The parking lot will most likely be full, but don’t fear, just drive down a block past the building and hang a right down a side street and there will be plenty of other movie goers parking on that block.

I do appreciate a movie theater within walking distance from my house but the screens here are something lacking. It's good for dialogue driven movies where you're more concerned about the words than the visuals and there's good drinks and food to go along with it. Unfortunately, if you're looking for be blown away with visually stunning films, you'll need to head elsewhere. Still a solid spot nonetheless.

To my mind The Broad is a work in progress - but it's a hell of a start. Food, drinks and films might as well be some sort of Trinity of Modern Leisure, which makes The Broad a holy site. Their theaters are small, screens aren't huge and seats are limited, but on the flip; you've got four choices from a quality program, every seat has an excellent view of the screen and the theater is rarely over full. Plus the food is good. And real butter on the popcorn.

Great mix of local/big movie theater. Cool building with that local feel, but suuuuper nice seats. They have a nice selection of beer and wine and some good snacks. Just wish they’d bring the herbed popcorn back. I know they will always play the big blockbusters and a great selection of more indie films.

Great local theater! Prices are reasonable, concessions are tasty, employees are nice! Even has a bar to grab a cocktail at! The chairs in the theaters themselves are quite comfortable and you can raise and lower the arm rests. All in all I think this theater is a great alternative to the big expensive amc theaters!

Great little movie theatre. It's not crowded on a Saturday night. It is a charming little theatre. We came here to see a 3 hours long Avenger the end game. The price at the concession stand were every affordable as you can see from the picture. This movie theatre has bar to order beer and cocktails. This is not a chain movie theatre.

I enjoyed the total experience of being able to take in a movie, make new friends, and to have access to a bar before the movie. Of course, the offerings for movie goers are magnificent! In this case, it was the magnificent screening of Miles Davis, Birth of the Cool. Meeting Stanley Nelson and Miles' family members Vince Wilburn and Erin Davis, along with their commentary, was an additional treat. There's an inviting ambience and comfortable seating with food from the the theater's restaurant and alcoholic beverages for those who imbibe allowed into the ample viewing halls. Definitely get the newsletter from the website and I keep abreast of the variety of entertainment options. It's a great place to enjoy a movie in a very hip place.

Long live arthouse cinema! I LOVE the original artwork on the walls. The sound is good and the screen is top-knotch. As a committed credits-reader, it was heartening to see the ushers actually wiping the seats down while cleaning up after "Bolden." The concessions line needs a rope, some signage or both for better line-up organization. I detest being asked to sign ANYTHING with my finger [versus having a stylus handy.]

I cant say enough good things about this place. My friend "Detroit" and i have gone to every movie theater in and around New Orleans, but this one is the all around best. Current movies, good food and drinks, nice staff, and great prices. All other theaters should take notes, this is the place where family, friends, and dates can enjoy themselves comfortably.

Good neighborhood theater. It's not the biggest and there aren't a large number of seats but they are comfy and to see a movie or waste away a night in movie bliss not a bad option. The popcorn was fresh and may have used real butter. The candy selection was good. You can actually get real food here instead of just theater fare and they have a bar. More suited to an adult date night as the arms of the chairs move up for a mid movie snuggle.

Cool place to visit and hang out. The atmosphere is very laid back. Extremely nice staff. The facilities are clean and the prices are reasonable. It within walking distance from the canal streetcar. The only down side I had was that there was a strange unpleasant odor in the auditorium.

If you're looking for a smaller local theater (with a bar I might add), that also plays popular movies look no further! The Broad Theater has always been my go to place for seeing new movies in theaters, where I won't spend a fortune on tickets and/or snacks. Plus who doesn't like the added element of a adult beverage in hand while watching a movie? Highly recommended spot to go.

I love the Broad Theater, it's very convenient for me since I don't own a vehicle--easy access by bus and right in the heart of the city! The cost is reasonable--$8 for seniors. There may be a different food vendor each day, but their menus are usually pretty good. There's also a bar and you can opt to enjoy your alcoholic beverage while watching the movie. It has a friendly, casual atmosphere and the staff is great--I LOVE IT!!!!❤

It's a nice, clean little theatre. A little dated in the theatre I was in...that being older seats and sound system. The material on the walls of Screen 3 are a little old. Overall, though. It close to my neighborhood, has current films, nice little bar and you can get food and popcorn, too. I like it!

Brought my daughter out for a mommy and me movie date, and this theater was conveniently located close to home, had good parking available, was clean, and has a friendly staff. Their cereal treats and virgin strawberry daiquiri are good! Movie tickets and food items are very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this theater, especially over the larger ones.

Love The Broad! Your not gonna get IMax or anything, but it is a nice little local theatre with a comfy feel. Staff are kind and I like being able to drink a pint of beer at the movies. Screens are smaller than average, but enough to get the full sense of the theatre experience.

Thankfully independent theatres still exist. I’ve been supporting them for over 30 years and even with the ease of access through streaming and mobile devices, I still love sitting in a dark room full of strangers (except my viewing companion) experiencing the celluloid screen so I really really really love The Broad. It is relatively new and has a fantastic intimate feel. The choice of beverages is excellent, the quality and selection of films, superb and the people who work there are kind and professional.

I really Loved this place... been there 4 times this month with my boys. I love the popcorn, that was until this last time... I bought a large and it was so salty my lips shriveled up. Fun little indie theater located near grocers and restaurants. You can order drinks, small fares and even smoothies inside which is a nice touch. There are tables and chairs where you can sit and enjoy your drink or snack. Theater space is roomy and seats are comfortable, which was a pleasant surprise for such an old theater. My one comment is that the screens didn’t seem to translate the picture as well as they could. Now, we saw “Mandy,” which was almost all technicolor, so that’s what made this observation particularly glaring.

This is one of those places that almost doesn't need a review because it's so good the word spreads. It may not have the most comfortable seats but it likely is the best movie theater in New Orleans based of the atmosphere. They show a good mix of popular movies and some smaller indie darlings along with pop ups (I'm looking forward to the April screening of Life of Bryant). There's a nice bar area and a decent food selection that has nicer things than your average concession stands including cheese plates from St. Jame's cheese company and ice cream cookies. Overall it just feels like a more adult movie theater that you actually want to arrive early at so you can hang out with friends. It brings an element of social joy to the movie watching experience. I try to see every movie I can here and I encourage you to do the same.

It's a small theater but that's what makes it cozy and truly a joy. Went to see captain marvel and wasn't disappointed. The bar is awesome people are cool & helpful. The drink's are cheap and food is well movie theater food but greatly priced witch makes this one of my favorite movie spots. So with that in mind ill alway's enjoy this spot over all.

Love the indie vibe here with the reasonably priced drinks and overpriced concessions, but hate that you can hear any movie playing in the other theaters during quiet times, as well as the INSANE amounts of creaking/slamming of the doors when anyone comes in and out of the small theaters. If you are a type that goes to the theater motivated to immerse yourselves from outside distractions, then this place probably won’t be for you. Much better than Canal Place though. At least here there are no waiters prancing around the room with flashlights closing out tabs during the final 10 minutes of what was probably a very engrossing film. I choose AMC mostly as they usually get all the smaller independent films now, too.
