The screens are awesome! I love love love the seats! They are amazing you could fall asleep in the chairs! I dont like going to any other movie theater!!!! The amenities are mediocre and the food is inexcusably expensive even for a movie theatre, but the standard Cinemark seating is definitely good enough, the staff is always super helpful, and they always have a movie you want to see. It earns it's spot as most people's default go-to movie place.

They have really improved the quality of the movie theater. This was the first time I've been here in a while. I was going to xscape because of the really comfy seats but now that cinemark has them as well it's not worth it for me to drive further. Nice job stepping up your game Cinemark.

The theater manager Dare(?) earned my respect last night by being vigilant in what had to be a stressful night opening of Joker. Very professional. I will continue to support this theater.

My husband and I went to see Captain American today. It's been a long time since we've been to this theater. We normally go to one that's closer to our house but Cinemark Mall St. Matthews was the only theater showing Captain American in their XD theater with the Luxury Lounger Recliners. We knew it was going to be hard to find a time and place that would satisfy us especially since the movie has been in theaters for weeks. But we were able to get great seats with matinee prices and luxury seating. And another thing that we love, it wasn't that crowded. We didn't have to worry about someone getting up and walking in front of us to go to the restroom or concession stand, we didn't have to worry about too much talking or someone's phone accidentally going off. My husband and I had a wonderful afternoon date.... And the movie Captain American was awesome!! I can't wait to see Avengers 4 Endgame!

When we first went into the the theater it was comfortable. About 30 to 45 minutes into the movie it became extremely uncomfortable temperature wise. I went to find someone who could assist with the issue. I couldn’t find anyone so I went to the front ticket area. Explained the situation. I was told that they would adjust the thermostat. An hour and a half later (the end of the movie during credits) the air finally kicked on. I found one of the theater people and asked to speak with the manager personally. Was told by a young kid that it is controlled by a computer and they had no control over the air comfortability and that’s just how they run things. I explained that the hallway and bathrooms were cooler than that theater room. He just shrugged his shoulders and said nothing. Nice.... I will go to the Escape on blankenbaker before returning.

Theater was clean and the seats are comfortable recliners. The best part was the fantastic employee who printed our tickets, took our popcorn and drink order, and directed us to our theater. We were a late showing so I'm sure normally it would be several people, but tonight it was one young man who could not have been nicer, more helpful or have a better attitude. I wish I knew his name but Cinemark, you are lucky to have him. My absolute only complaint would be that it was quite cold in the theater, maybe had it been full it would have been warmer. I definetly recommend this theater.

This theater is very nice and most if not all of the theaters inside include recliner seating. The screens are very nice and I've never experienced any issues. The workers here are very kind and always have a smile when helping out! This is the closest theater to my house and I vastly enjoy coming here when I want to see a movie!

My favorite thing about this theater is the comfortable seats as well as having the choice of choosing them rather than sit anywhere. But what i don't like is the rude attitude my husband received from one of the managers. The situation was dealt with by not in a professional way. The manager seemed young and inexperienced on how to handle customer service or speak to a customer. Im not here to shame, but just do better next time.

I've always wondered why this theater doesn't have an Arcade!!!!! Love that it's close home and it's a nice theater but people want the full movie going experience!!! Esspecially now everybody has their own home theater, myself included. I would rather drive to Excape or Tinseltown to get the full effect ;) The eighties generation are bringing their kids to the theater and want to relive their childhood with their kids ;) The Acade is part of the experience ;) I hardly ever write reviews but had to on this one ;) Overall it's a good theater, but the new reclining seats are harder and don't recline as far as the ones at Escape. Limited theater rooms compared to others in town. Put more pics of movie flava on the walls ;) Like pictures of drive ins!!! 50s and 80s nostalgia ;) Pictures of ALL old movie theaters in Louisville!! Make it an experience;) Families want an experience!!!!! ;) That's what sells tickets ;) And of course they need an Arcade ;) Give me a reason to buy a ticket ;)

Awful experience. I had to go and tell them twice that there was no sound in the theater then no one ever turned off the lights so we had to watch the movie in full brightness. Won't be returning.

Ok experience... Zero of the self ticket kiosk were working so you are forced to wait in the same line with people that didn't preorder tickets. Also the air conditioner wasn't running. I had to leave the theater to go speak to someone. I was advised that it's not controlled on site that they had called to get it turned on but it was already on the brink of sweat production warmth and humidity.

Nice place. Must enter from main entrance cannot access through mall. My first visit I went to wrong theatre. It was playing in 2 separate theaters. Ticket lady said 3rd. I made a quick stop to ladies room and thought ok 3rd door.. right movie on sign... oops was supposed to go all the way to end of hall where it turns left & there's more theaters ! I seen a bit more but still never seen whole beginning. Very nice place friendly staff. Great seating!!

I really enjoy this movie theater. Comfortable reclining seating, good popcorn and of course cant forget the soda. A few things about the theater I've noticed this time: even if you digitally purchase tickets you have to have them printed at the desk. There must have been issues there recently. If you are not part of the cinemark movie club/connections you should consider. Especially if you go to the movies at least once a month, it pays off to have a reduced movie ticket and the second at a discounted price. PLUS you get a discount on food, which those few dollars saved are always helpful. I didnt know.... kids under the age of 18 cannot see rated R movies after 10pm. At least that's what I was told... even if they are with a parent. I'm not originally from KY and so this was news to me... no worries just an FYI. Customer service has been a plus every time. Oh they have a bar there as well!?! Dont get too lit.... the police patrol the area as well! Which leads me to safety has not really been a concern but dont be niave ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings! Safety First! Its located outside the mall, therefore you can shop before or after the movies as time permits. Dont want movie theater food? That's fine too there are several good restaurants in the area. So looking for a good movie and a comfortable place to see it, check this movie theater out!

Limited number of theaters and the clean up job was sub par. Staff was courteous. The seats recline but do not allow a full 90° lift of the legs. Wouldn't be my first selection for a theater but its attached to the mall so it is convenient.

Nice theaters with reservation capabilities and chairs that are adjustable and comfortable. However in many of the theaters if you lean back in the chairs your sight line on the bottom of the screen is obscured by a wall. Not the end of the world since not much happens on the bottom of the screen but a design flaw nonetheless. Also online reservations through Fandango are the only apparent option since the Cinemark site insisted I purchase their MONTHLY service. This is an expense I did not want or need and could not justify bit I could not get it out of my cart! Fandango adds 8 dollars and change to the cost which is also excessive. Unfortunately all this means we have to justify family visits to the movies and choose to wait for more movies to hit pay per view.

As nice as a theatre can get. Super comfortable leather seats that recline with lots of room around you. Food, beer, and alcohol are all available. Reserved seating. Lots of free parking. My only criticism would be that they don't have that many movie choices. Some people said it's very expensive but I only paid $7 to see an afternoon movie. That seems normal to me.

A decent theater in the area. Pretty much go here for the convenience and because it's a big theater so they have plenty of showings. The past time we went though, it seems their kiosks (both outdoor and indoor) were out of order, so you have to wait in the ticket line to pick up your tickets. Basically nonsense because you've paid ahead and still have to wait in a line to pick your tickets up. Hopefully they fix the kiosks soon.

Usually an awesome experience here. Tuesday's are cheap days, normally great. Seems they decided to offset this by turning the AC off. Multiple people complaining and were told it is set by someone else and there was nothing that could be done. Movie was great but sitting in a steam room isn't the best way to watch a movie.

Always a nice time at this theater. I just wish that they would tell you there is assigned seating, so when we choose seats we dont get kicked out of them. Normally when there is assigned seating you get to choose your seats. I'm not sure if we didnt get to choose because we ordered the tickets from fandango, but a notice of our seats would have been decent. Other than that I've always had a good experience. The theatre seems clean and the staff is friendly.

Out of other movie theaters in the Louisville area, this is our favorite theater by far. Convenient location, lounge seating, nice screens, and clean overall. Like all theaters, food and drinks are overpriced unfortunately. Other than that, we especially enjoy their XD theater for watching movie premieres. As an added bonus, there is lounge recliner seating in all of the theater rooms at this Cinemark. You can also conveniently order your tickets in advance online, reserve your desired seats, and pick up the tickets at the print-off stations in the front to avoid the lines.

The seating arrangement is terrible. I actually like this movie theater but their seating arrangement is confusing and people don’t seat in their correct seats. We bought our tickets and selected a seat but then had to get up because we was in the wrong seats. Actually come to find out the top seats on the screen we’re actually the bottom seats and the top seats were actually the bottom on the screen. Which anyone that’s never selected a seat would automatically think the top seats would be at the top. DUHH. I saw multiple people were confused. I honestly believe they should go back to whoever gets there first gets the seat first. I think it’s very dumb to have people pay for tickets before others and then have to get up like back in the old days. Plus the letters and rows of the seats is not that visible. I was so humiliated and actually was upset during the first 30 minutes of the movie. Smh this is why you got a one star cinemark !! We had to leave and get a security guard to show us the correct seats. So mad.

I've never had a bad experience. The seats are very comfortable and the staff is friendly. Getting through the lines even on busier days for both the snack bar or movie line is quick. A couple of times the volume was set Too loud. That is my only complaint. Nice place!

Saw Avengers today. Ordered my ticket online the night before. Walked in and got scanned quickly with no problem. Picked up ticket and then went and got some popcorn. Asked for extra layers of butter and was served it no problem. Like that they also have butter mavhine in lobby for customers to add more if they need it without waiting. Theatre was clean and comfortable with recline seats.

This new Theater was built adjacent to the St Matthews Mall. I went to see a movie there for the first time today. Although, I loved the electric recliner movie seats, this Theater is not equipped to hold large crowds of people. Their seating capacity is smaller than most cinemas and sold out of two showtimes hours in advance. Very nice Theater but small. My advice is to go during non-peak times early afternoon or wait at least two weeks after a New Movie Release.

Today we went to see the new Disney movie, 'The Nutcracker'. Purchased tickets in advance, reserved seating, picked up our printed tickets from the box office, so excited! Then, someone decided to change the auditorium # but not inform patrons. That is unacceptable as a business practice, no matter the company.

My star will go up when they can get that taken care of. I don't care that it's understaffed - people don't show, etc. That I can overlook. I have had issues on multiple locations either with rude cashiers/ticket takers as well as the lights not turning off until someone complained during one showing and during another the audio not turning on until someone complained...so, again, staff not that great. But comfy seats and good quality theater overall.

This was my first visit with family to Cinemark Mall St. Matthews. I had purchased tickets from Fandango for family members in the past but this was my first time to purchase tickets and attend this theatre. As with past purchases, I got to choose our seats during the purchase. There has never been a problem with seats. The theatre was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our Mary Poppins movie.
