We LOVE the drive in! Food is awesome but lots of people know that so you better make plans or you'll wait a while! Worth the wait though! My kids think drive in movies are so neat and it's pretty great to get to take my kids to a place they enjoy that I also enjoyed as a kid. I always, always eat more than one cheeseburger here. The poor people that work there are probably so sick of burgers they don't even want to look at them but boy can they cook them!

Um. I felt outta place just because theres no black people here. But other than that I got the experience I wanted. Hanging out going to the drive in. Making a picnic watching movies with the fam. Screen was pretty good. Prices were cheap. Food was ok.parking was cool

When you are willing to stand in line for 2 hours and miss part of the movie, that says a lot about the food here. Just be prepared. We drove 1 hr and a half to be here. This is one of our favorite summertime activities. I wish they could figure out an app to order food and let customers know when their food is ready. If not add speakers for those waiting in line outside and inside. We do enjoy getting to know the people in line around us.

The Calvert City Drive-In is the best place around to catch the latest movies with one of the best, most affordable concession stands you will find. The employees are always friendly even when busy and strive to get your order correct every time you decide to visit. Believe me when I say they have the absolute best Cheeseburgers in town and their homemade pizza comes in at a close second so needless to say, their food is really good. Combine that with admission at around $8 a person for (not one but two) fantastic movies and you can't go wrong. Keep in mind though this place stays pretty busy especially on weekends so be sure to get there early. Or if crowds aren't your thing, be sure to check them out on weeknight, just be sure to remember the second film usually doesn't end until after midnight most nights. So, if your tired of spending $20 on a large popcorn and a large drink at your local movie theater, be sure to check these guys out. You won't be disappointed!

It was okay , .... there were speakers so yo can hear , there was a spot kids can play in a field. I'd just say remember to keep your phone at 100% and have activities to do why you wait . The food was nice . Only a bit expense and be SURE to go on a nice day , if there dog that day .... well forget about watching a movie

Love this place. You get two movies with one price. Movie audio is tunable by radio or by use of the drive in speakers. They are open every day and kids 11 and under are free. We always get a pizza and popcorn. The food area is very cramped and busy. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely a hidden gem.

The Calvert Drive In is the best place in the area to catch a movie with friends. The unique atmosphere provides a retro chic, and everyone can be close together, huddled around the speaker or jamming together in the car. The food, too, is excellent - the hamburgers, for example, are some of the best in Marshall County. Plus, this is a great place to see folks you don't run into often - it's something magical about the place that always seems to draw you to people you almost forgot you know, but who you're always happy to see. Overall, there's simply no better place to watch a movie than the drive in.

We have been here many times and no issues at all it's always been a great experience but this time as always I ordered two double CB and asked just like always to have onions chopped well if they can't do it that's ok it's not a big deal but my problem began when the young girl at the register if she could do it instead of saying nicely no as I said would not have been a problem the girl cooking the.burgers which if I heard correctly her name was kaylee, Hailey something to that effect she said repeatedly about 3 or 4 times as it made her very angry no we can't do that with a very hateful voice and if that wasn't bad enough about 2 minutes later the young girl at the register walked up to her and I didn't hear her question to the very angry girl but the angry girls response was no I don't have time to do request like that I don't have a knife and I was being to picky that it was bad enough when she has people requesting no salt or pepper she doesn't have time to deal with it and then the angry girl looked behind her at the crowd and was showed she was very angry shook her head as if she didn't want any customers. Well why is she working here and ruining the family atmosphere that this business is known for if she doesn't like her job she maybe having a bad day but the customers are the backbone to a successful business and attitudes like hers will put a crutch in it.

The movie quality is good, you have an old metal speaker you can hang on your window if you want the nostalgia, but if your rather have better sound quality, you can tune into the radio station. I personally like to bring an FM player/Walkman and some headphones... Don't forget the food! The prices so much cheaper than you'd imagine and the quality is well above par. The food is the best value here, even though you get two movies for one low price. You have to have at least one cheeseburger!

Amazing concessions if you can bear the lines. Often very crowded on weekends. Sound quality is low - you're better off using your vehicle radio. Picture quality occasionally seems like it has a dark filter. Still a cheap, fun evening with friends or family.

The drive-in experience depends on a number of key pieces. You can bring your kids and they're free, so if you have a large family, you come out ahead. However, you'll have trouble hearing the movie with outdated speaker equipment that have probably never been updated. It would be best for the theater to have a mobile app where you can plug into your headset to hear the movie. The food is good, and a lot of people praise their cheeseburgers, however I would suggest a different cashier experience as lines are typically very long due to a very slow service.

Price is awesome. For 16 bucks my wife, three kids, and I can see two movies. Less stressing about kids staying quiet, and while there's a nice concession stand serving burgers and pizza In addition to typical movie faire, bringing your own food is readily allowed. Parking can be rough, and if you want to be in front, you had better be waiting when the doors open (4:30 for an 8:30 double feature that won't end until after 1:00, but you CAN leave after the first film) because they fill up almost immediately, though other spot may be available right up to showtime. All in all a very worthwhile and positive experience, but don't expect the typical movie theater experience.

Cool experience. I have not been to a drive in theater since I was a kid. You can tune your radio and get the audio right in your vehicle. The movie experience was nice. Food was ok, but be prepared to wait a while if ordering anything other than popcorn and soda.

Awesome place!! My family LOVES the Calvert Drive in so much we don't mind the long drive from Clay, Ky! So much better than indoor theaters and way more affordable. The food is amazing and is honestly priced very reasonable and compared to the indoor theater costs of food/drink: its a steal at Calvert! Our family can get tickets to watch TWO movies at the drive in, all have dinner, popcorn, and candy AND including our gas and for the same price or less than what it costs to go to the local indoor cinema, share one tub of popcorn and 2 drinks, and see one movie with a bunch of buffoons in front of us standing up and behind us talking loud and kicking our seat! Calvert obviously is my choice! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, working equipment, nicely manicured grounds, best food, great low pricing, and SUPER unique and fun trip! Makes for some great family memories!

Wonderful to be able to take my grand kids as I did their parents.The only thing I miss is you used to toast the buns on the grill and lots pepper on burger and heat the cheese on grill then assemble the crispy well done perfect hamburger. Wish you could turn the clock back to that method . It's what first made the hamburgers famous.

It's always a unique experience to go watch a movie at this drive in. They usually do double features, but sometimes will do special showing of single movies. They do get newer movies, but a few weeks to a month behind regular theaters. Probably to help get the cost down for them and their customers. Video wise, they upgraded to a digital projector a few years ago. So the quality a very good and decently bright. As for the audio while watching the movies. They offer the usual hangable mono window speaker option for sound. However, they also have a FM radio broadcast option so you can use your car's radio and get the audio in stereo through the car speakers. Food at the drive in is really good and cheap for being theater food. You can get stuff like burgers, pizza, popcorn, candy, and drinks. Basically, you can get dinner and a movie here if you want to. They do take cards, but there is a small charge for using cards. If you are in the area and want a different movie going experience. Definitely stop on in and catch what they are showing.

Love going to the drive in. Hate all the people parking crazy and setting up a picnic in the car spot next to them. Why or when did it become ok to bring your dog(s) with? Food is good. Pizza and burger's are a win, however cut back on the salt with them burger's, there is no beer there. ;-) This was my 2nd visit. I will he back. Hope the speakers don't cut out like they did tonight.

Everyone should go to drive in at least once in their lives. It's an awesome experience. Wasn't enthused about the hour wait in line for hamburgers but they were going as fast as they could. And, I suppose, that's part of the whole experience. Next time, I'll either get there at least 30 minutes earlier or grab a bite on my way in. The lines for just popcorn and drinks was much shorter and moved a bit faster FYI.

Where else can you take in a double feature for $8 per adult? Kids under 12 get in free. I literally took my two children to see secret life of pets 2 and Godzilla king of the monsters for $8.

This is a great drive in Theater. Th equipment and screen are up kept well. You can use your car's radio to listen to the audio, but the speakers turn up loud enough for you to hear perfectly fine. If you are going on a busy night (Friday or Saturday) you need to get there hours in advance in order to get a decent spot, otherwise you can get there 15-45 minutes early. So bring a deck of cards or whatever to keep you entertained while you wait. Its a great price for two movies, although you have to be a real night owl to be able to hold on long enough for that 2nd movie to end. They have great concessions (burgers, popcorn, pizza, etc.), but the line will be REALLY long if its a popular night.

Calvert City Drive In is a family oriented, pet friendly drive in theater. The movie is easy to watch from the comfort of your own car or even lawn chair if you like. The food from the concession stand/restaurant is top notch!! They even deliver to local locations. It reminds me of times long gone except its all high definition. Love this place and you will too.

It was my son's and my husband's first time ever going to the drive in. We seen The Lion King and Toy Story 4. The first time we attempted to go they filled up quickly so we left earlier the next time and got a really good spot. We loved it! I'm glad I get to make memories with my little family as my dad did with my sisters and I as we were growing up. Can't wait for even more trips here!

One of the best places to take your family in the area. This drive in has been around since the 1950’s. The food is great and is very reasonably priced. Staff members are quite friendly and keep a very clean kitchen. If you’re in the area and need something to entertain your whole crew I can’t think of a better place to spend your time and money.
