I love Carla and all her staff. I do notice the lines sometimes get long but I think it's just from everyone purchasing tickets and concessions right before a movie starts. I use the AMC rewards app and I use to purchase my tickets ahead of time but I had to go stand in the same line as other ticket holders to redeem that ticket. My suggestion to AMC would be to just have the ticket person scan the QR code or have a scanner available and let my digital ticket be the ticket. It would encourage more online sales and save on printing paper.

Theater was clean. Lower rating because I didn't like standing in the food line to get movie tickets and the line was very long. In fact, it was almost at the entrance door. Also, the theater was so cold it was miserable. I will think twice before purchasing another uncomfortable movie.

Fill your own drinks, butter your own popcorn. Picture quality is sometimes good sometimes not so much. Sound system is awful. The speakers on the wall are just for decoration. Sometimes don't even turn the seating lights off. Save your money and rent or stream a movie.

Took our little guy to see Detective Pikachu. Was overcharged for tickets but manager was able to take care of it. Facilities were clean and temperature was very comfortable. Seats were comfortable and sound quality was good. Overall a great date night with our little man.

It’s a theater that’s half way ran. The cleanliness varies, but it’s never excellent. The seats in the theaters are squeaky and a bit annoying. Other issues I’ve seen are movies being stopped to allow late comers in. Or late in playing the movie. Lines 50 yards long with only one cashier open for tickets. The courtesy of the staff varies also and that might depend on them being short staffed. This theater needs an overhaul in management and presentation.

Don't bother buying tickets ahead of time because you still have to wait in line to "get your tickets" Also, when you wait in line to get food and drinks, you have to wait in line again to get your drinks. Seats were pretty poor quality too.

The matinee ticket prices are not to bad but the concessions is out of control. $6.39 for 12 pretzel bites and a thing of cheese? The seats are fairly comfortable but half of them squeak. It's a bit distracting during the movie. You can butter your own popcorn and fill your own drinks, which is great, but be prepared to spend $15 on a drink and popcorn.

i have not been back here since they took over. Employee got very rude and smart with me. Also they want to charge WAY TOO MUCH for TICKETS and FOOD ITEMS. The same candy there you can get at dollar tree for 99% less. I will not be going back. Theater is always Hot, Smells bad, Employee tried to keep my change of like $7.00 and when i mentioned it she got rude and disrespectful slung the change at me.

Compared to Evansville theaters which I prefer, it has a much smaller screen and it isn't curved. On a positive note, 4 pm shows are $5.75 daily and Tuesday's food and drinks are under $3 for small sizes.

Staff is always nice, but I would deduct two stars for the way theatre 1 smells. Old and mildewy smell. It takes some getting used to in order to be able to enjoy the movie and your food while smelling it. I've been in that particular one many times and it always smells that way. Gross.

Very nice place. Friendly staff, and the theater was pretty clean (the floor was a little sticky, though). Standard prices as far as movies and concessions go. Overall, pretty good.

Prices for tickets are a bit high. Concessions are crazy high. Seats need a update desperately. My 5 year old couldn't even hold the folding seats down and they aren't to comfy for adults either.

If you buy your tickets online, this location doesn't scan them from your phone. You still have to go to the concessions and get your tickets printed which defeats the purpose of paying convenience fees when you buy them online. Also, the seats are uncomfortable and need to be upgraded.

Very unpleasant experience at AMC theater in Madisonville. Should have ticket window open for sales on Friday nights. Long lines at registers for both tickets & snacks.... If selling inside should have one register designated for ticket sales only. Snack prices are beyond ridiculous. Then on such a busy night, the drink machine runs out. My daughter then had to return to a long line & wait once again to get my granddaughter ‘s cup filled :(

It sucks that they never have people on the ticket booth, you have to proceed directly "for your convenience" to the concession counter and wait in line, even if you are not gonna buy anything else, it took me 25 minutes and was already late for the movie,

Being the only theater in town, I have to give 4, not cause of the cleanliness but I know how old the place is. The building needs to be in a different place with a bigger parking lot that doesn't have potholes. Some movie sections are decent the other problem might be the hvac was whistling while your trying to watch the movie. No matter how loud the movie was I thought I was sitting next to a huge fan while watching the avengers:endgame.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience. It is a smaller theater, so it doesn't have some of the amenities of larger theaters in larger markets such as recliner seats and Imax screens. It does have a pretty good selection of titles and the screens and sound are both good.

I waited in line to order a soda. They gave me a cup and I had to wait in another line to fill my cup with soda. This theater only has 1 soda machine at this time. I went in to watch the movie and the theater smells really bad.( like wet and musty)

It's clean, but the seats aren't as comfortable as the Henderson theater. The staff for the most part is friendly. Seems to be short staffed as the lines are long and slow and often make you late to be seated by your show time so go early. As far as the popcorn it isn't really consistent; sometimes it's really good and other it taste old and they constantly seem to switch the butter topping.

I am A huge movie buff. One of my favorite things to do is go out and watch a movie. I am very particular as to how a theater should operate, to have a good movie experience, and Capitol 8 does not disappoint! I frequently visit iMax's and other large theaters and I must say the Capitol 8 in Madisonville is one of my favorites to visit. The staff are always very friendly. The facility is very clean and well kept. Most of all I love the the show rooms; very large, the sound quality is top notch and the temperature is always just right! I live closer to another theater in Owensboro, KY but I make the extra distance just to come to Capitol 8! Thanks everyone, keep up the awesome work.

Great place. Watched a movie with my best the other day. (5 feet apart) only down fall from my trip was some kid turned the light off on me while i was washing my hands. So my mind goes to "OH NO THIS IS HOW I DIE" legit thought that someone was going to murder me. But luckily i turned my flashlight on my phone and ran out, turning the light back on as i left. Thank goodness i got to live another day!
