This restaurant / movie house has low traffic, nice large seating, and great service. You can order from the menu, get seated in your theater, and they will text you when your order is ready for pick-up.

Very clean. Friendly staff. Almost feels like your own personal private theater. You can bring food in with you as well as drinks including adult beverages. Did I mention it's also attached to a fine dining/bbq restaurant. Only 3 theaters though it's only downside. Also they often have free posters of the movies they are showing nice little bonus.

Nice small theater with better snacks than the regular movie theater. The best thing about it is that is holds a local crowd and is in walking distance from our house. Clean comfortable seating too.

Great spot! I like that you can drink beer or wine while watching the movie. Nice leather seats. Tasty food in the restaurant section is just a few steps away from the movie theaters.

On Sunday, August 28, 2016 we purchased movie tickets online for an early show. When we arrived, the theatre had flooded. There were no employees of the theatre or the restaurant there, only the cleanup company. There was no sign out saying they were closed. There was nothing on the website about them being closed that day or later. We tried calling several times over the next 2 days, and left voicemails, asking how to get our money refunded. We sent an email through the website. After a few days I was able to reach someone who said they were a manager. He said that we could refund the money by coming in with the receipt/email and credit card used. I explained that due to a family emergency, I wouldn’t be able to get to that side of town anytime soon. He thought we could refund it over the phone, but would need the card. As I didn’t have the card with me at that time, I said I would call back. I called back a couple of days later, and was told I would need to come in, and they couldn’t do it over the phone, by “Leo”, who said he was the theatre manager. I explained that I couldn’t come in and why. I asked if I forwarded the email, could they refund it some other way, such as a check. I was told that it wasn’t his fault I couldn’t come in, and that was my only option. I asked to speak with his supervisor. He said he didn’t have one. I asked if he was the owner. He said he was not, Peter Brown was the owner. I asked if I could speak with the owner, his boss. He said he was the manager, and “his own boss.” I asked again to speak with the owner, and was told I couldn’t. I asked if there was anyone else there. He told me the only other person was Rob, the restaurant manager. I asked to speak with him. After some time, I was put on with “Rob”, who at least was less antagonistic. He explained there was no way to refund the credit card over the phone, but the owner would be in on Monday from 9-2. He said he would give Peter a message to call me. I called just before noon Monday. I spoke with “Martin”, who, after putting me on hold, said the owner was not there, and there was not any managers available. He offered to have them call me back, but didn’t ask for my phone number. Somehow I don’t think I’m going to get a call back. I’m contesting the credit card charges. Our friends who bought tickets for the same show and went in at the same time have also not been able to get a refund. We’ve gone to this theatre many times in the past, but won’t be going again.

This place is beyond excellent. Kids birthday party? Book it. Corporate event in need of offsite A/V gear, catering, private space? Book it. Upscale restaurant with exquisite American and midwestern flavours? Go hang out. Nice bar for small groups of gal pals to gossip? Go hang out. I can't say enough good things about this place.

I arrived forgetting my wallet and the manager voluntarily gave me a coke after I realized I forgot it. He told me to just pay it back later when I remembered. A stand out guy and a great and comfortable movie theater, highly recommend!

We went here to watch a movie and have dinner afterwards, but one the restaurant wasn't open, and two when we got drinks and snacks we paid for the free refills and we went out not even half ways through the movie to get our free refills on popcorn and drinks and nobody was there and the concession stand was closed. The manager said they close 15 minutes after the movie starts, except nobody tells you that, and also if your going to buy some wine then get the bottle because the glass is only about three sips worth. But the movie was good.

Still suffering from the sulfur/sewer smell that is plaguing the Village shops, although it was tolerable enough to stay for the movie. I wish they didn’t play religious music in the theater before the movie, it’s a bit much for those of us not of that faith. We’ve been trying to support Standees for years because we like having a theater close by, but it seems run down and empty and that’s worrisome.

The food is not adventurous, but delicious. They stick to what they do and they do it well. I particularly enjoyed the cheeseburger sliders - tasty morsels with a bbq kick. Very comfy chairs in the theater where you can drink beer and eat good food? That gets me to "liked it" status right there. The only reason it's not a "love it" is because when you do eat in the theater, it's a little awkward. They give you plastic containers and it's dark and can be a bit precarious. However, if you eat in the dining room, you avoid this and the food is great.

Came here to enjoy a movie and eat, assuming the restaurant would be open. This is a theater that markets dining while watching a movie. Upon arrival we were told the restaurant was closed and the options were a hot dog or pretzel. The restaurant which keeps switching names will have a grand opening tomorrow. Really, so on a weekend night, no food options?!

Comfortable seating and great food which can be eaten while watching a movie. Usually not crowded. Ticket prices are a little higher but moviepass takes care of that.

We were in the theater on Saturday, 1/7/2017. There was a fire alarm about 1 hour into our movie and we had to evacuate. It was 10 degrees outside and after standing around outside for about 10 minutes (while the sprinkler system continued to go off) one of the people working at the theatre said "just keep your ticket stubs for a refund." I took my stub back to the theater on Monday, 1/9/2017 and asked for a refund. The person working at the counter said I couldn't get a refund but that she could give me a "free" movie pass. Seriously? It's not a "free" movie since I didn't get to see the original movie. When I mentioned that I would prefer a refund, she said "well, you didn't bring it back the day of the movie." - I told her that they had closed their theatre for the night after the incident, then asked how I could "bring it back"? I also mentioned that it had been 10 degrees outside and how long did they expect us to stand outside and wait while they cleaned up the water? She then said "you didn't call the number on the board." - at that point I asked to speak to a Manager. She found the manager (at least I think he's the manager of the theatre and the restaurant C. Frogs as I've seen him in the restaurant a few times). He said he'd need to figure out how to open the cash drawer in order to give me a refund. Then he called another worker who easily opened the cash drawer. I finally received my refund. But only after the original worker complained that her drawer would be short. This is completely unacceptable customer service. I understand that false alarms can happen, and I'm glad there wasn't an actual fire. However, management definitely needs to give training on customer service. I appreciate the cleanliness of the theater and the close proximity to my house. However, the slight sewer smell and poor, poor customer service make AMC a better option for me.

Very fun, quaint neighborhood movie theater. Awesome that you can get food at the restaurant and take it in the movie. Downside is that the chairs don't recline and it smells a little musty.

Nice place. The layout for food and snacks is a little backwards but with the size of the theater and crowds it’s manageable. Food was really good and the chairs though not recliners were comfortable.

I have only been to this theatre a couple times but the way they are set up is very unique. It’s a dinner theatre due to being partner with the chocolate frog next door. Anything bought from there can then be taken into the theatre that has nice comfy seats and small tables for food. Perfect for a treat out.

The movie theater area was very impressive. Screen/projector is high quality and the seating was plush leather seats with mini-tables you can swing out if you'd like. I'd highly recommend this place for a more adult date/movie night out. The only thing I wish were different is that they leave the lights on in the hallway to the theater. It's a bit distracting considering the rest of the theater is dark and it's in your line of sight to the screen. But this is very very minor and I in no way would suggest you avoid it because of such a thing.

Lovely place, but there are no hooks in the restroom stalls for coats and purses. Seems odd that they would go to so much trouble and then forget a small detail like that. The seats are comfy, but not much leg room. But I really appreciated not being bombarded with commercials before the movie started. A nice change!

We watched a movie as a family tonight at Standees for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised. I was pretty sure I would like the theatre since it was smaller and newer. But I also liked the food that we had there. Bbq nachos and sliders and of course popcorn. The part that I liked the most was actually how affordable it was. Not compared to Netflix (obviously), but to a larger more commercial theater. It is still always cheaper to stay home, but it was worth the experience not to be on the couch eating leftover chinese food. Great times.

If I could give negative stars I would. We showed up at 10:20 am for a 10:30 am Sunday movie, waited until 10:35, no one showed up to open the Theater. Unbelievable!!! There were people setting up in the restaurant but the couldn't be bothered to answer the door. How can you put out show times and then just not be show up? Even now today on Monday the show time is still posted as 10:30 am.

This is a fantastic place to go for movies. The theater is attached to a restaurant and you can order food. Food prices are reasonable. The staff is pretty cool and there does not appear to be a large amount of staff turnover, so you get to see the same employees frequently, making this location truly feel like a neighborhood theater .

Loved it. Stumbled across this establishment while googling "things to do in KC for an anniversary". We weren't disappointed. It was our 28th anniversary and we made full use of the entire facility. Appetizers, drinks & a fabulous meal; a movie, then back to the bar for more drinks and dessert. This will become our new "go to" when treating ourselves to a date night.

We used to frequent this theater quite a bit but we recently went to see First Man and there was a terrible sewer smell. We’ve smelled it multiple times now. They had candles in the hall to try and mitigate the smell to no avail. Really hope they can get a handle on this.

OK, I went christmas eve, the restaurant was closed the only thing up was the bar. So, I don't really have anything to say about the entrees. However I did have the chili con ... and girlfriend had the frys. All of the sauces where clearly made in house and they were good. They also didn't seem to skimp much on the ingredients, the cheese sauce was made from white cheddar and green chilies, it was nice. I personally would have added some tomato, but it was fine as it was. Needed more garlic, but I say that about everything. The fries came with 3 aioli they were nice, but not something that would smack you in the head with the flavors. The flavors were wasabi, coarse mustard, and roasted tomato. I had a dirty martini as well which was perfect. Not much you can say about it, top shelf gin, mixed competently. Now judging by the menu and what food I did have, this would be a good place to eat. Quality ingredients competently prepared. The menu look pretty varied. However the main thing about this place is it's also a movie theater. The theaters are small, with large, very comfortable chairs. I hate going to movies, here though given the chair size, ***NO COMMERCIALS***, and good equipment if I was living here I'd be coming every weekend. The staff was happy and fun to be around. You do pay a premium for the venue, like I said the theaters are really small and they have to make a profit, but it's not much. Anyway, I had a great time there I highly highly recommend it.

Theaters are ok. Food menu is pretty good, but pickup system is error-prone. I didn't receive the text that my food was ready, so it sat and got cold; the staff re-made the order, which was good to do, though I missed a sizable chunk of the movie with all the back/forth.

Reasonable ticket prices. Reasonable food prices. Not a large place, so its pretty intimate. We shared a bottle of wine while watching a movie. Had a great time. Will definitely be back and lokking forward to it. My only complaint is that the seats don't recline well.

Enjoyed the angus burger except it was very difficult to eat in the darkness of the theater on a small black table. Need some small light in the area. Bloody Mary was meh. Staff was semi friendly but we were very confused on how we get our order. Said they text when ready but when we went to get it they said they bring it. Stench of sewage when you walk in was almost a deal breaker but was told the area all around there has that issue. It’s really nasty though. Good food bad ambience.
