Excellent theater. Its rarely crowded. Clean environment. Affordable tickets. If you are a monthly moviegoer, highly recommend get AMC Stubs membership. $5 ticket Tuesday, Free refills is a must. Plus it has a bowling arena on the second floor, and a arcade center. Not too many loud and rude movie goers which make the movie experience enjoyable. It could be a little difficult finding it if you never been. But if your going to navy pier you'll find it relatively easy. This movie theater is top notch all around. I adore it.

Update: The problems in the paragraph below still exist. Now the ticket counter is WOEFULLY UNDERSTAFFED (10 windows, one employee) and three of the four automatic ticket machines were broken today when I went. There were about 20 customers, in 2 lines, both feeding into the one window with anyone working there. And no managers in sight. The theater only gets its two stars for (1) good picture and sound, and (2) decent seats. The theater itself is fine, but the concession stand is a hot mess. It’s as if they have 30 people working behind the counter, and they all started working there that day. Oy. And reserved seating is an AWFUL IDEA. Bring back general admission tickets!!!!!!

Good place downtown to watch movies. The theaters are a little small for my taste but they have a lot of theaters so you can watch any movie you like. One of the only places in Chicago downtown area which plays Indian movies now and then. If you have AMC stubs and live downtown, then this is just a walk away. I would rate the Navy Pier IMax as #1 - can’t beat the sound quality and screen size, North Michigan 9 dine in - comfortable and big as #2, State Street AMC - but has less options in movies - as #3 and this as #4.

This is the weirdest theater. It's not bad, per se, just weird. You go up an escalator from the entrance to buy tickets. Then your tickets are checked before going up another escalator to the floor with theaters and concessions. I'm sure it's because the Loop doesn't lend itself to horizontal building planning, but it was definitely odd. It's a nice theater though. Appeared clean. Decent sized game room. Numerous theater rooms. If you buy popcorn, they have butter stations where you can apply your own butter liquid.

The sound system and video quality is absolutely amazing with Dolby HDR. The reclining seats are very comfortable. I miss getting food delivered at my seat for the price of the ticket - but that’s just a good to have. They also have dedicated seats for handicapped people, which I think is amazing. If you enjoy watching movies on big screens, I highly recommend this place.

Not sure why there are any 5 star ratings for this theater when there are far superior options literally within walking distance. For one you can't even pick your seats, so you're relegated to standing in lines pre movie viewing just to get a decent seat, in 2019... two, the quality of said seating is awful, hard uncomfortable cramed together seats. Great location for public transportation. If you must drive the parking is under $20. Movie tickets are responsibly priced. Clean theater, lobby and bathrooms. Great place to make a night of it with a movie, dinner and bowling.

We are currently sitting in this definitely not air-conditioned theater waiting for the movie to start back up. Two hours into Endgame and the movie just STOPPED. With zero explanation, and with no sign of the movie or air conditioning starting up again anytime soon. This is on top of the fact that half of the previews were without sound. Absolutely abysmal experience. Will not ever be coming to this theater again, and will actively encourage others from attending.

Saw "The Shadow"(2018), which didn't play anywhere in the suburbs. So first time ever we took a trip to Chicago to watch a movie. Half an hour into it people from the theatre came and took a family out - no idea what happened, but it was handled quickly and as quiet as the leaving family allowed. Great experience when combined with a walk in the area and visits to few great places to eat.

Very nice, comfortable and clean theaters. Try to take public transportation. Even though they Partially validate, parking can still be expensive. They also need to check on the theaters during the movie. Two people had their cell phones on periodically during the movie and was very distracting.

A strength of this theatre is definitely it's variety in movies and amenities. The movie ticket prices are reasonable. Food and drinks on the other hand...may cost you a pretty penny and their size isn't enough. For example, The chicken and waffles; two small waffles and one small piece of chicken is not worth 7 plus dollars. Curly fries are bomb tho

If you wear glasses it's easy to get annoyed by the lights there come off of the food ordering number system they have on the chairs, but if you get past that you realize the natural sound insulation and quiet in that theater as well as comfort in those seats is 2nd to none. Not to mention all food ordered on that floor you can be brought inside the theater.

Great theatre, great sound quality, very good facilities. This is my problem with it: the theatre I was in for the movie was tiny. The screen was tiny, and the seats were the most normal seats you can find in any theatre. And for 14 dollars, these days you can have recliner seats in big theatres with screens that make you feel like a movie theatre, not like a big projector in a big house.

I wilk sound Like a Country bumpkin wben i say this but THIS WAS THE BIGGEST theater i had ever been in!! I was in total awe when i had to take 2 escalators to get to my theater. BUT The seats were tiny. I am a big woman( not fat) i am 6 feet tall and weigh 250 so it was a tight squeeze. Then the rows were very close together. I felt like I had been bound in the fetal position! Was very uncomfortable. I enjoyed ti movie because it was action packed abd diverting byt it took two tries and the gentleman seated next me to assist to get uo and out when the film was over. I would nit go there again when visiting Chicago. The popcorn and soda were good though.

Over 30 minutes worth of previews is less favorable, seating could be updated. The arcade + The Joker made the night worthy. Parking is $14 for 4 hours & $40 for anything over, smh. Joker movie was about 3 hours.

It is in dire need of maintenance in some of the exhibition rooms. We visit this theater quite frequently (at least once a week, sometimes twice). Last Friday we were in the Dolby (Theater no. 10) and our whole movie experience was ruined by a very noisy Central Air/Heat vent. Whenever there was a more silent scene, the noise was extremely annoying. My (J16) seat, and some other had the reclining features disabled or broken. The service at the concession stand could be friendlier and faster. Other than that, no issues. Parking is easy and prices are according to downtown’s average rates.

I only go here of you got a deal with AMC. This place is straight up too expensive to watch a movie. It has great amenities but I don't think it was a great value. The place is super clean though and the seats are comfortable. Finding available seats were easy.

This is a great place to have fun. The location has a game room and bowling alley. The prices are reasonable and the workers are cool. The location surrounds a Walgreens, Target down the street, restaurants, and other stores. This is a nice place to bring your kids, go on a date, hang out with friends, and family. This is a nice landmark for Chicago.

Not the best experience. Came for a special screening at 1:30 pm and they wouldn’t even let us up to the concession stand at 1pm. Even when I asked if I could just go up and get a drink (we were really thirsty) and come back down. Not the greatest hospitality.

Always have a good time at this movie theater. Like all movie theaters it is expensive but we came here for the Chicago international film festival which kinda takes over for half of October and I just love the set up of the event and how well it is run. Regular movie goers and film festival ones integrate well and everything is run seamlessly between the two sets of staff. Honestly this is the only time of year I come out to this theater but I love it!

My favorite theater in the Chicago area. Why, it does not have assigned seats, except in the Dolby theater. It also does not have recliners so the theaters have many more seats than most theaters these days so you can always find a great seat. The screens themselves are as good or better than any other so overall the best.

Large theater and friendly staff. Lots of options for concessions and comfortable seats. They aren’t reclining but you can reserve them which is super helpful if you want to miss the trailers (about 20 minutes after showtime). Usually crowded but a clean theater none the less.

Theater seems fine. I suggest anyone NOT buy gift cards from here if they actually want the recipient to be able to use it. While they acknowledged it was perfectly good they were unable to redeem it because their system wouldn't accept it. Better I email a photo of it to some email address and wait for a new card in the mail. There remedy was I buy two more tickets that day. Again my advice for AMC customers: DO NOT BUY OR GIVE AMC GIFT CARDS.

Good movie experience. Only hitch was with purchasing the tickets, only one ticket agent working on a Saturday and the kiosk was not user friendly. Clean, clear projection with good sound. I always like picking my seats so I appreciate that at this theater.

they have comfortable, large, reclining seating with cup holders. there are reserved seats for some events. they have scanners so they can do electronic tickets. they have beer prices that you would expect ($11 for a 24oz draft beer). it's a bit of a walk from normal river north places, like all streeterville stuff. kind of confusing to walk back to the trains from here along the river

Left my cap on seat next to me. Had sentimental value so returned next day to see if item was in the lost and found. Manager took the time to check and within five minutes my cap, wrapped perfectly in a small bag, was returned. First class treatment all the way and this particular AMC theatre is my all time nationwide favorite.

Upon arrival guest services were extremely helpful and attentive. We decided to grab a bite to eat before the show, unfortunately they were out of gourmet popcorn and substituted my popcorn for tenders instead. With a full refund for the popped corn for the inconvenience. Btw. I will be back for that popcorn, because it sounds delightful. The guy behind the counter told me they are the third most visited in the country so I can imagine that popcorn better be good. :) We walked into theater #7 waited a bit because I am a stickler about being on time. My philosophy is 5 minutes early is 10 minutes late! But we had time to mingle and chit chat get to know who would be loud and who would be tolerable. We sat between two incredibly nice gentlemen. The hostess was absolutely wonderful. Btw... I'm still going to be jealous of that trip to Barcelona! Have some fun for me! The movie sound quality, and picture were impeccable! I felt absolutely safe and secure with security around and the reserved seating was nice to not have people treading back and forth to the bathroom and concession. I like the fact the movie was a grownup film, that meant no crying babies and no line of children in their parents wake. I love children but sometimes it's nice to have a grownups night:). All in all it was excellent customer service, very clean facility, average priced, and a quality evening! I would recommend! #longshot

One of the best places in Chicago to go and see a movie but the problem the stuff are dont care went with 3 kids ask for Sliders and I ask how many comes in a dish the girl said 5 I said ok so give us 2 when we got to our seats we found out that's it's only 2 and not 5 sliders so I had to go back all the way and when I ask her why u said 5 it's only 2 she gave me a face like ....

Pretty good theatre, but it leaves a bit to be desired in terms of amenities for guests. Also, the arena seating is never that great compared to the more comfortable chairs at other theatres. Good place overall to see movies but it could be a lot better.

Quick accessible entrance; option to buy the tickets at a kiosk without speaking to any body; game arcade and bowling alley at location; big theater so they have great movie selections! I love this place! My $5 Movie Tuesdays are spent here every week!

I am mostly writing this review for the concessions manager on the night of Friday, February 22: You and all the employees there are doing a great job and the rude woman in the fur coat telling the employee who made fresh popcorn "I know you're trying", while trying to tell her how to do her job, and asking you if "there was any other managers available" in that condescending tone does not deserve your hard work. She is the kind of person who makes working in the service industry, especially food service, a pain. I had to walk away to not start a fight with her because my boyfriend, who was also watching this happen, works in food service (I very recently left the same restaurant) and we both know those customers too well. I regret not saying anything, but I would definitely not have been polite, since she wasn't my customer. I am sorry you had to listen to her condescend and belittle you. I hope you had a good laugh on break or at the end of the shift about her at least! You all did great and she did not. Thank you for feeding movie goers, my boyfriend and I had a great date night at the end of a long week and we appreciated you very much!

It's a good theater but could be great if they actually cleaned the place. I had melted chocolate all along the side of my seat, didnt notice until halfway through the movie. For $25 a ticket at the very least clean is something I expect

Main reason I really go here is because my friends and I like the arcade and how close it is to Navy Pier. Bowling alley looks promising too. The AMC theater itself is okay but unless you like feeling cramped or don't want something too fancy (like a huge screen or recliners) it'll work for your buck. Me and my friend were very uncomfortable the entire movie and made the experience not so great. Their bar is pretty neat, tho I wouldn't try buying several drinks as some are quite pricey.

Big theater with an arcade and mini golf and bowling, perfect for killing time. Love the arcade games, a lot of them inspired by phone games like flappy bird and angry bird but also some good boardwalk style games to throw basketballs and footballs. The city mini golf looked fun but we didn’t try it. Theater rooms themselves are a little small and seats don’t recline.

Great theater well maintained. However they don't offer reservations unless it is Dolby theater. Most rooms are not equipped with reclining seats. But they are clean most of the time. Parking Garage is attached and offer special rate for AMC.

Having a bowling alley, movie theater, arcade, and a bar all in the same place is awesome. What else is there to say. The movie theater is clean, the bowling alley is clean, the arcade has 150 games, and the bar has well and top shelf drinks. Also, you can park under the building. With a validated ticket our parking cost was $17 USD. I would say the cost for all of the venues is average but others in our group thought the drinks were pricey, but everything else was comparable.

Love this place! Food, entertainment, and drinks all in one location. Have several theatres and offer a variety of movies. Easy check in. Paid parking only, can get validated at AMC for discounted rate, still pricey. There is public transportation nearby.

Terrible experience. The sound didn’t work right-double every word; at one point it even froze for a bit and the sound went completely out for a couple minutes. This theater is way overpriced for something that doesn’t work. I talked to customer service who told me multiple times I would get a call from the theater. They never called. I tried calling the theater, they never answered. I tried calling the theater number of customer care (instead of the main one) and they said it wasn’t their area of help an I had to call the theater. I like the theater and it was supposed to be a date night but I will NEVER AGIAIN come here. If I put that much for a movie, I expect it to work or if there are NUMEROUS problems, something to be done about it.

When you realize there are so many alternatives around with better prices, seats, screens and projections, it makes you wonder why you would go here at all... Also, can they close the doors to the theater room? You can hear everything going on outside.

This place has changed alot since I came here, from an awesome bowling alley and restaurant and bar, and now we have an arcade. Been going here since 2009. Love this place it's absolutely worth.

Broken seats and terrible customer service. DO NOT PAY FOR DOLBY UPGRADE. Customer service first said to come back after the movie was over to get my replacement passes over broken seats. Then they wouldn't do it after the movie was over. Awful experience all around.

They have a bar in there which is Really nice! The food is also good, but it's movies food so don't expect a salad ;) In this theater they don't have assigned seating but it's really big so you can always find great seats even when you're late!

Efficient with good show times. Staff was better than some AMC's I've visited. Seats were a bit dirty - I'm never happy with AMC's prices. For what they charge, they should have the locations spotless. My hometown theater has seating about the same as this location - and it's $5 a ticket... For the past 20 years... Let that sink in lol
