This Movie Theater belongs to the category of Movie theater.
Iconic Boise event center.
Nice relaxing place with a great lineup.
Iconic building wonderful place! Saw Preacher Lawson... he is super funny!
This is one of my favorite venues in town. The acoustics are amazing and the selection of things to do there is always fun!
Stay excellent
It's not my preferred way to watch a movie. They encourage talking and yelling and quoting the movies as they play everyone is super drunk and the facilities are always packed. I guess a lot of people enjoy that but it's not for me.
Always a great theater for movies and concerts. My favourite place to see productions by Opera Idaho. I love the historical importance of this theater as well.
The worst hundred dollars I've ever wasted in my life! I have loved Wynonna for years and she was fine but the lighting was terrible for people sitting in the balcony nosebleed seats! I don't know whether that is lighting of the Egyptian or was part of her set but it was terrible! It blinded the people sitting there ! I usually always get good seats and if I can't get them I don't go but I really wanted to see her. If I happen to go to the Egyptian again I will make sure not to sit in the balcony!
I saw the jacksepticeye how did we get here comedy live show world tour and I loved it the wait wasn't too long and they had a nice theater size
Beautiful theatre in the heart of dt Boise. Attracting international acts and world class film.
This place is so much fun. Enjoy a movie that everyone is already a fan of and cheer, laugh, and scream together. This is my second time and I will be back!
Beautiful historic theatre
Great fun and architecture
Beautiful venue.
Boise classic movies at the Egyptian are tough to beat
The staff was courteous and kind the seats were comfortable
Fun experience. Old, but we'll maintained.
Saw Trombone Shorty last Saturday and will be the last time I see a concert there. Acoustics are terrible, sound was way too loud. Could hardly hear any of the vocals. Have seen Tommy Emmanuel there twice and same thing with the sound. This place is not fit for concerts.
Once again the Egyptian delivers! We are so lucky to have a jewel box in the heart of our city. The Acoustics are magnificent, the staff is outrageously good and there's not a bad seat in the house! Tickets for the extreme holiday extravaganza that should be in caps extreme holiday Extravaganza go on sale tonight! Hope to see you there!
I've visited the Egyptian theatre a hand full of times for different concerts and movies theyve hosted. Each time I have been very pleased! The atmosphere is very detailed and unique! Very clean venue with comfortable seating and temperature! It takes a movie going experience to a new level!
Extremely cool place to go and to see.
Saw Piff the magic dragon & Mr Piffles...IT WAS AWESOME!!! =o)
Cool venue but seat elevation isn't good so hope nobody tall sits in front of you. We loved Tombstone tonight but the audio clarity was atrocious from the front and they never turned on the side speaker surround sound
Great place to watch classic movies. "Great Scott "
Had a great time @ BANFF in the Egyptian.
Great venue. Beautifully designed. Just saw Aida here and this was obviously the perfect venue for it. Acoustics are great. The theater has an intimate feel while not feeling cramped or tiny. We also attended the Idaho Horror Film Festival here one year and it was also a great time.
Really nice theatre that hosts a wide variety of performances/shows. I attended a performance of the Boise Baroque Orchestra and Boise Master Chorale. It was a great show and filled the theatre, but the atmosphere seemed to make it even more memorable. I look forward to attending other performances/shows in the future.
Love this place! Popcorn, alcoholic beverages and such a great atmosphere! Whether you’re watching an old school movie or listening to a comedian, it’s outstanding
Great fun! Wish they had more liquor options but overall, what a great place to go see a movie!
I had never been in here before. I loved it. It's an unique experience
This is my favorite theater in Boise
Great theater! Great atmosphere! Wonderful artwork!!!
Musical Movies - Silent Films with Ben Model was great! Very incredible historic venue, and the original movie organ is amazing.
I've been here to see classic movies and Welcome to Night Vale. It's small, but comfortable. I like the decor a lot and I enjoy coming here for shows.
I love Boise Classic Movies.
Concessions are not the best. But it's a cool atmosphere!
Always fun
The Fab Four was a great show. Loved it
Excellent environment in a beautiful part of downtown which creates the "whole experience" when seeing a film or act. Clean, friendly staff, and beautifully cared for historic theater.
Great decor. Original theater organ. Best for live shows or vintage movies
Cool building. Just stopped by to see it and not any event. So glad it was saved! The original organ is still there, hiding under the recently extended stage.
Go here every year for the full draw film tour great place to have an event like this just wish they had more concession food beside candy and popcorn
Enjoy all types of entertainment at the Egyptian :)
Seriously love this place. Support these guys. The community is great. Watch your favorite films here. Crowds are interactive and awesome. And the more people attend the more of your favorite movies they'll be able to show. Win Win. If you never been, consider this a sign to go.
Always a great place to see a show. Clean, nice staff, show was grest
The seating is comfy and it is kept clean and nice, but nothing spectacular for a 5 star.
Wonderful time and fair prices for once!!
The Boise classic movies and the people who come to be apart of those shows performance make every BCM event the best!
Great venue. Family friendly. Nostalgic.
Nice theater in downtown Boise
This is a super cool spot and suggest going during one of their Boise movie premiers. I went for space balls and had a great time! Staff is super friendly
Saw Katya's Help me I'm dying. It was phenomenal!!!!!! The show had everything and the setting at the Egyptian seemed more intimate than other venues. The theater added to the overall experience. It was awesome!
Good place to watch movies.
Riders in the sky put on a great show Fun night
They have an interesting copy of an old local newspaper from the past (bootleggers!). Good write-up of historical significance. Enjoyed learning about the decorations. Nice ambience. Our most recent visit was for a chamber music presentation of "A Soldier's Tale" by the Boise Phil/BSU members. Everyone should go check out The Egyptian Theater!
Love the events this place puts on. Last time we went we had some sound quality issues but it was a free showing
I've seen so many different kinds of shows in this gorgeous theater-- concerts, drag shows, and silent films. I would recommend this theater to everyone. The events are always wonderful and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I never feel as if I've paid too much for a night out at The Egyptian.
Always something interesting. Glad we have this treasure in Boise
Niche theater with a fun theme. Supports local contests and other classic events. Great place for friend and family entertainment.
Beautiful theater with a great variety of shows.
Cool place! Fun events and just a cool old building!
The seating is good; not a bad view in the place. However the sound is not great.
Always a great time!
Great atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. I would love to visit again someday.
Love it for Boise Clasic Movies. Especially the 21+ nights with adult beverages!
Fun place to watch a show. Great vibe!
Great place to watch movies
Cool theater with a great vibe. NOT a fan of how they treat their employees though. They have a pretty rude sign in the ticket window telling them that “They no longer will receive their tips until further notice and if they don’t like it then they can leave” treat your people right and stop acting like a jack***.
Excellent place to see a concert. The sound is superb and the venue is just the right size.
Went and saw the Fly Fishing Film tour, what a great venue!! Love the that thearte! A part of Boise History!
Nice little place in downtown Boise. Historical theatre, often where the local intelligentsia stage gatherings in honor of their cultural choices of the day.
Great venue in downtown Boise.
Very classy, restored theater, perfect for showing classic movies, with an original theatre organ.
Great location. Pretty room with a clean, old school feel
Fun experience! They had a throw back movie night playing Back To The Future. They also had a contest for best movie costumes.
Went for the big lebowski showing they have every year, had a great time and staff was courteous. White Russians were a bit pricey but overall great.
Classy place - great acoustics, easy to find, and mostly available parking. Lots of eateries nearby. We go mostly for music events, but classic movies and a host of other events fill out the calendar.
Absolutely fabulous event!
Great and funky!!
Without a doubt the coolest theater in town
Friendly staff. Comfortable atmosphere
Unique, original 1927 Egyptian-themed theater with original working pipe organ for silent film accompaniment.
Nice place,good movie,good beer,and awsome people
Saw the Owl City concert at the Egyptian. Though the venue is older still has character. Great sound and not a bad seat in the house. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will go again
Such a great place!
Love coming and seeing Classic Movies
So Henry Rollins was awesome the wonderful place to be the venue is perfect excellent seating excellent service excellent excellent excellent
Good place for concerts.
The Egyptian has great acoustics and cutting edge digital projection. They also book great shows. The seats can be a little tight for tall people so come early and sit in the balcony. Great venue.
Wonderful, well kept. Nice staff
A Beautiful old (1927)theater that is a Wonderful place to see Concerts & watch old movies, including the old silent movies. For Concerts it is a smaller, more intimate setting. I highly recommend it!
Such a fun venue. They keep it up nicely. And a shout out to the Les Bois Film Festival that is always here. A great time in a unique theater.
Nice place. I love the old fashion decor. I would love to go back! Comfy place.
Absolutely worth the experience and you should try and go to one of their unique festival showings.
I love the interior.
Really cool historic theatre! We saw Gregory Alan Isakov play here with the Shook Twins. It was an amazing show!! We had a great time. The sound quality and the decor was awesome. Loved the Egyptian motif. Everything about this place was spot on, highly recommend seeing a show here.
Boise Classic Movies at The Egyptian Theatre has finally brought The Rocky Horror Picture Show a cult culture classic that has been missing here for as long as i can remember; to life in Boise! And even better is that it's right at the heart of downtown. So much fun!!! And they provide a super welcoming environment for it. I really hope that this experience becomes a permanent, annual, must do, in The City of Trees, for decades to come. BRAVO!!!!
Beautifully ornate building with an influential local history. Lines can get pretty long, though. Great acoustics and seating
The most beautiful theatre I've ever seen.
Great concert by Mr. Stigers (and friends), and the Egyptian is the best venue!
I love to go here for a movie or concerts.
Awesome place to watch the best xmas movie - Die Hard! Friendly staff and great atmosphere.
Always a great time. We go to old movies and other special events here. Tonight was the Mountain Film Festival. It is a benefit event for the Selway Bitterroot Frank Church Foundation. Saw 13 great short films to support a great cause! The theater is available for a variety of events including movies concerts and much more. It an amazingly restored old theater. We love to sit in the balcony.
Beautiful theatre. Went to Dancing with the Stars (Idaho). Fun time!
Went to my annual viewing of The Big Lebowski. The theater was clean, the White Russians we're strong, and a great selection of oat sodas. The dude abides.
Watched the Princess Bride. Watching classic movies on the big screen with a interacting audience is the way its supposed to be watched. Going back for The Big Lebowski soon!
In Idaho icon! Good sound quality, large screen, comfortable seats. Pleasant venue to watch live shows as well. They even have a real live pipe organ that they occasionally use. They must do when you're in town!
Ive been here twice I really like the historic movie theater feel and the retro Egypt motif I came once for a film Festival another time for Tom segura both were great and for a small venue they handled the crowds very well you can definitely tell they have done it all before. Lots of places to eat or grab a drink nearby either before or after your show.
I love going to see Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Egyptian. Such a great time!
Took my kids to see home alone. It was a great time. They had popcorn and soda. I'm not sure what else they have. I do know they have adults only nights and sell alcohol. The ambience is amazing. Staff is great. We had an awesome time and will be repeat customers.
It is a nice place! It could use a remodel. The seat cushions are beginning to break down and need replacement. There is also a good level of cleaning that could be done on the side decorations that also hold lighting equipment as well as the curtains which are falling apart, obvious from the balcony. Other than that is seems well maintained.
This theatre is a staple in Boise. Being it is not your typical theatre. (Yes I intended on the old spelling if you go you'll understand) Classic movies of days past also comedians and concerts galore!
Great owners. Great venue. Enjoyed doing private security
A fun theater that brings you back to younger days!!! We saw a great show here and had a great time. Clean. Pretty. Lots of fun.
We had a great time watching Smokey and the Bandit. Do bring cash with you! To grab drinks and snacks.
Boise's best place to see old movies and comedy. People tend to dress up for the movies they watch and it creates a great atmosphere the beer and wine helps too
I love this venue for live music/concerts. A smaller, intimate space, compared to most concert venues.
Great facility, classic 1920s movie palace restored to its former glory. Staff are friendly and helpful
Amazing venu, beautiful inside and out and a really great Iconic experience
Awesome Concert
Great restored theater in Old Town Park City
When The Knitting Factory burned down my concert got relocated to The Egyptian Theater. It was a lovely facility. It was beautiful and fun to look around and the seats were comfortable for at least 30 minutes before I started to shift around. The downsides were thus: the lights blinded the front 6 rows (at least) for the duration of all 3 musical acts - my concert buddy had a brutal headache by the time the main act started. (My headache set in later.) The "reserved seats" were totally useless when 200 nosebleed section tickets rushed to the front of the concert hall to stand, and non-reserved ticket holders grabbed more than a couple of the reserved seats which led to conflict for those of us who paid quite a bit more for our spots. Many of us who purchased adjacent seats were split up. Also, those of us who would have preferred to sit, including a much older crowd that paid for good seated seating, had to stand for the 2 hour performance because the group that rushed down to the front were permitted to stand there for the entire concert. (Thankfully the standing group were well behaved - it could have been much worse.) Getting in to the concert lacked some finesse, but that was mostly the fault of a much older facility and the 4 columns of hand-held metal-detectors at the door that slowed things down. There were also a lot of sound issues throughout the concert, but I have no way of knowing who was responsible for that. I hope I have the chance to come back and see an event here that was meant to be here - I suspect it would be a much more streamlined experience.
My wife and I had the best experience here for our anniversary. We came to see the Glenn Miller Orchestra. It was so much fun. We were probably the youngest people in the building but we had more fun than you should be allowed to have. The building is so cool too. Old building with a lot of character. Definitely want to come back!
Outstanding experience!
Came here to see Owl City! It was a great experience, the theatre was very clean. It was a very comfortable atmosphere. I was nervous about going to a concert in a theatre, but it worked out. I didn't get restless the way that I thought I would and I was able to see everything from where I was-- even up on the second level.
So fun, nightmare before Christmas!
Beautiful venue! Very organized, great show!
Saw Post Modern Jukebox, great sound, beautiful theater.
Dope place for a viewing, but honestly, I'd recommend the tour even more. There is LOTS of very cool history at this place and it's even HAUNTED!! Lots of cool old pictures of what Boise used to look like, and just a really cool vibe. Most def.
No better place to go for ANYTHING they present. Idaho's best Art Deco building inside and out, carefully chosen movies and live music from The Phil to national bands. I would live there if I could!
had a great time we saw The Princess bride great movie
David Archuleta concert was great!
One of the best places to see a concert
It was a amazing building. We watched the movie. It's a wonderful life and loved the experience in this amazing land mark of Boise.
Great place! Love the atmosphere. It takes you back in time as to what old theatres are like. Also the Egyptian architecture is really fun.
First time to the Egyptian Theatre. Classic movie night was such a fun event. The smaller venue is perfect for audience involvement. The historic atmosphere added authenticity to the experience of watching a movie set in the late 1800's. Can't wait to attend a different type of event there.
An amazingly great place. Beautiful architecture. Definitely a great experience.
The Egyptian theater is always a wonderful venue. Sean Rogers accompanying the silent. Oliver and Hardy films was just great entertainment. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Went here to see Andy Grammer in Nov. 2018, and it was an AWESOME experience. They checked pretty securely before allowing anyone into the theatre, and even though my friend and I got in a little late and had to head all the way to the back (literally the back row), we were still able to see and hear everything pretty well. The seats were a little uncomfortable, but otherwise a great experience!
I love being able to watch older movies in a theater!
Boise Classic Movies put on a great show in an incredible venue!
An amazing theatre. So much history and such an important part of Boise. I love this place.
Excellent concert venue. Referbed ten-fifteen years ago. Concerts, movies, etc. Tonight was Curtis Stigers. Excellent!
The Egyptian shows things that you didn't really know you need but totally do. There you are, driving downtown and you see they are having a MIB trilogy showing. You haven't seen those movies in years. You go to the showing. In the middle of the showing the lights go out. There is darkness. Suddenly you feel a hand on yours. It's your future husband. Congrats.
First time going. It's a cool venue
If you are looking for a truly unique theater venue for live music or occasional film, this theater is exceptional. You have never seen anything like it! I was dazzled by the interior decor! I highly recommended even just to stick your head in the door and see what is inside!
I've lived in Idaho for several years amd have never been to the Egyptian Theater. What a great experience if you have any being a highly recommended
This place is great! I've seen Tom Segura and Bill Burr here and it's a great, quaint little place for comedy shows. The seats are super comfortable and include cupholders, which is nice. The employees are always nice as well! I wish the selections for snacks were a little better and there was a full bar, which is why I give it a 4 and not a 5.
