Nice venue. Clean and well maintained. The employees are friendly and helpful. Several of the small theaters have comfy reclining seats. One of the things I really appreciate is the temperature control - I can go to a movie in the summer and not need a parka.

We love this theatre, such an awesome location & we are frequent patrons here, and always leave pleased with our experience! Having a big family it is well over 100 bucks for us to walk in to the movie, so our experience must be good or we will not return. The employees here are almost always appropriate with their service & the bathrooms are clean too, which is huge. The only thing I would like to see better is the quality of their snacks like nachos etc, but that is what is supplied to this theater. 5 star on customer service, cleanliness, and special events they host with kids events and football season. We will continue to support this theatre!!!

Seating is great. Over all great for seeing a movie only thing I Don't like is that if you visit for the last showing and you where to get the refill on the popcorn you won't be able to unless you miss the movie and get during to showing. They don't keep any extra out. They clean up and you just miss out. I've been to other theaters that keep some out for you.

First time at this theater and it was great! The seats recline and prop your feet up and upon buying tickets you get to choose your seats. A negative for me is that they did not have dippin dots but instead a knock off version called itty bits or something similar and they did not taste the same at all. All in all a great experience.

This is definitely the most expensive theater in town and honestly I don't understand why. They're pretty average to me. I gave 4 stars because they're clean, ordering tickets is easy, and there is tons to do around that area with good restaurants and shopping.

Been here several times and overall have had good experiences....except for Christmas Day. That was a mad house, but hey it’s Christmas Day, what can you expect? They had a hard time calling people up to order concessions and people in the non-prepaid ticket line were getting angry. Other than that though, it’s a nice theatre. Comfy, reclining seats!!

I don't go to movie theaters a whole lot, but the last few times I noticed that the university theater 16 has added automatic reclining seats. Part of the theater has them in use now which seems like the auditoriums on the left side. The other side is getting them installed at this time, or are about to. They're very nice

The theatre was clean and very comfortable. The seats were fantastic. They reclined and were very plush. It really is like sitting in your most comfortable chair at home and watching a movie. This is now our new movie theater. We live in Windee and would go to the AMC there but now that we have found this one we will come here instead.

Highly Disappointed. This was my boyfriend & I first time going to this theatre. We usually go to the AMC on Lexington Rd. We watched the Avengers: End Game, the 3d movie experience was wonderful. However, the food service sucked. In my opinion, there shouldn't be a kitchen if it's not seat service. On top of that the menu sucks. They're aren't many choices to choose from. Then u can't bring any alcoholic beverage into the theater. The facility is nice, but the food shouldn't be advertised. This theater is overrated due to its location. I didn't have a problem with customer service at all. I think i didn't know whar to expect. Since I'm accustomed to seat service, my movie experience wasn't the best here.

It's a nice place for an enjoyable movie. They've many trendy movies starting at different times. It's just the place for young, middle age, and older audiences. Plenty snacks and beverages for all ages. It's the place if you're looking for a pleasant spot. I rate it Excellent!!

Worth the drive for families. Reserved seating online and the GTX Extreme theater (ATMOS sound) make this theater one a no brainer. Added bonus...plenty to eat and shopping surrounding the theater. Great location.

Went and saw IT Chapter 2 in GTX....The big screen was great but I actually prefer the other screens just because the seats are way better in them!!! We've seen several movies there and it's always a great experience

I loved this theater when it first opened. GTX seating is unmatched by any theater in the area. With that being said the last 2 movies I saw there, infinity war and black panther, had terrible sound mixing. At first I thought it was the movie itself, but upon watching one of the movies at another theater I realized it was just the GTX screens seating. I am not sure if this problem plagues the other GTX screen or if it was just the one I was in. You may not notice the problem, but sound that is played directly in front of you rather than on the sides does not have the same impactful bass. Either way if the sound is fixed to the way it was when the theater first opened it would be the best theater in the area.

A lovely modern theatre that properly meets expectations. The staff was polite and competent. I got my ticket, snacks, and receipts in about a minute as I should. While the place certainly looked clean, I noticed as I was walking on the bathroom floor after seeing a movie that my shoes were sticky. Just a small thing. My favorite thing about the theatre is that it shows both mainstream movies and those in limited theatres. I look forward to seeing this at a busier time instead of noon on a Wednesday. Thumbs up.

The theater is beautiful as always. The 2 reasons I didn't give it 5* are these; #1. On a Saturday afternoon, you need more registers open. Families spending time together, couples on dates, and groups of friends mean really long lines! When you get there 15-20 minutes before your movie is scheduled to start and can't get your tickets until after it starts means you might need to up the ticket sellers. #2. When you ask for the 4:00 standard movie and are charged for the GTX one, but due to the lateness of getting the tickets and rush to get inside, you don't realize you just paid $10 more to get in than you planned. Not cool. Still out favorite place to go...not on Saturdays

Lost some money in movie came back several weeks later, told the how much,what day lost and asked if any money had been turned in in that amount and the exact number of bills. Not only had it been turned in it had been held in the safe and was given back to me. Thank you U-16. Nice to know there are still honest people in this world.

No longer AMC, now owned by Georgia Theater Company. Stadium-style seating w/really comfortable clean seats that recline electronically. Easy access to concessions for popcorn and drink refills. Picture and sound were perfect. Cheap cheap tickets on Tuesdays.

Came to see Alita in 3D, as this was the only theatre showing it in 3D. The theatre is huge. I love being able to pick my seats. However, I came during the middle of dead winter on a day it had rained. And somehow my there was zero heat anywhere in the building. It was so cold that my toes and fingers went numb about 30 mins into the movie. My theatre wasnt busy and the couple behind me actually left to ask if the heat could be turned on. They returned and let me and the other 5 patrons in the theatre know that the person they spoke with told them that there was nothing they could do. It would be one thing if it was just the one theatre, but the entire building being without heat? In the dead of Georgia's coldest winter in history? Kinda seems like something that should be stayed on top of and communicated to guests. As stated above, the place is HUGE. It is very easy to get confused or overwhelmed, however the staff are not helpful at all. The ushers barged in with about an hour left of the movie and talked loudly and played a game of tag, and then marco polo, across the theatre while we were all still watching. They also made fun of us who do stay until the end of the credits.

This is our go-to theater in Athens. The tickets are great priced compared to another big name theater company that's been taking over lately. The thing I love most though is that every theater has lots of leg room, and the seats are nice. I also love that there is a 21 and older theater. They serve drinks and food, but we mostly just go to that one so we know there won't be any crying babies or loud teenagers. It's nice to have a theater in town that we can still afford to go to more than once every few months.

This AMC location offers great new seating and also has an option to dine in, for a movie goer I'd recommend this one immensely. However, this is a nightmare location to work, having had numerous bad experiences here in my younger years and have also heard more horror stories from friends, terrible management and attitudes towards staff

Current movies always showing with reasonable matinee prices. Ticket purchasing is somewhat unusual as it is done at the same counter where candy and drinks are purchased. There is yet another counter for popcorn. The seats are stadium style, comfortable, and in good condition.

Really pleasant experience! The inside is set up really convenient. They have a popcorn bar, and soda fountains all off to the side after you pay so the lines dont get that long. They also offer a full restaurant with a bar(if that's your thing), so technically you could have dinner before the show. The theater seats are really comfy leather chairs with electric recliners. Really enjoyed the place.

Really comfey chairs! You can adjust the seats to recline and fold out the leg rests with a remote on the arms. Screening quality is obviously top notch. A double edged sword is that seating arrangements can be bought beforehand, which may lead to awkward encounters due to a lack of markers or strict ushering.

I was very offended tonight by the management of this establishment. I've been a student at the Georgia institute of Cosmotoligy for approximately 6 months. Since that time I've been able to enjoy movies at a lower price by using the student discount. But all of a sudden tonight they decided not to let me. My school doesn't issue us a student ID, so I have no way of showing it. Felt like I was being called a liar. The manager asked if I had anything online, on my phone I could show. But my question is what could I show her? My gpa? My current grades? That's nobodies business to see. Needless to say I didn't see the movie and i won't be going back to this movie theater. I'll take my business across town to the amc. They have more respect for their customers and better prices.

Great theater; love how they added reclining seats. Although, if you’re going to have customers select their seats, there needs to be a way to enforce this seating, because we have to ask people to move out of our seats. Also, if I hadn’t been there to explain how to get their tickets, my parents would have had no idea. Perhaps you could make it more clear that you purchase your tickets on the screens when you walk in, instead of standing in line for the register like many people are used to.

I saw solo here with my 14 yr old son. the best part was when he showed me these buttons on the arm rest and OH MY GOD, the freaking seats lean back/forward, even has settings to raise and lower your feet. it's like at home but bigger screen plenty of room. my best ever experience. highly recommend which ever there at that Cinema I was in, so sorry I'm not sure if they all do that there or we were just in the kick a** theatre..

came here for the first time in a long time because it’s such a nice theater! BUT my friend gashed her finger open on the railing and we ran into the bathroom (yes it was “closed”) but her finger was BLEEDING. an employee, looked like the manager, yelled at us outside of the bathroom saying, “there is a reason the bathroom is closed!” we told her she was bleeding and asked where an open bathroom was. she rudely replied. tell me why their bathroom on the side of the theater we were on is closed at 8 PM?! love the seats, theater is so nice, but when employees are rude it’s a no from me.

I love coming to this theater. The seats in theaters 1 and 7 are the reclining kind with plenty of room to walk in the aisles. The row behind you is also wide so that no one is kicking your seat during the movie. The staff is always friendly, though about 50% of the times i have come the icee machine has been down and my wife always wants one.

GTC is a good company and University 16 can basically be seen as their flagship movie theater. You can tell the moment you walk in that this theater is setting the standard for GTC cinemas. The open lobby providing a good breath of scope for the visual adventure you're about to partake in along with a tucked away bar for the 21+ crowd. The kiosks near the front entrance reduce the hassle of purchasing a ticket and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Theaters are well kept, bathrooms cleaned, and hallways pristine. I've been over 40 times and I'll keep going until I die.

Great theater! We have never had a bad experience here. The food in the bar is great and the staff has always been very friendly. When we started watching a terrible movie one time, we left within 5 minutes and they gave us two ticker vouchers to use and refunded the money we spent on popcorn and drinks. So nice of them!!

Absolutely terrible experience at this theatre. All the screens went down and when my family and I asked for our refund the idiotic manager said they have to wait. Still standing here waiting 20 min later. How hard is it to take the price of a ticket multiply it by 3 and give the money back.. can this theatre not afford an assistant manager? They could handle this sort of thing when the "manager" is busy. Wish I could give a no star rating!

This is a very nice theater, the seats are very comfortable and have more than enough leg room that accomodates the people seated as well as those passing by to get out of the row. I thought the sound was too loud the last time I went, but no one else seemed bothered by it. The customer service could be better. There isn't anyone there to explain where to go to purchase tickets or redeem e-tickets, there are no signs for that, either. There are also no signs once you get to your movie to show which seats the hallways enter to, so don't get there late if it's going to be a full house, you'll be totally blind trying to figure out where your seats are. The theater and bathrooms are very clean. If you found this review helpful, please give it a thumbs up! Thanks!
