REVIEWS OF Trocadero Theatre IN Delaware

Anthony Pennza

RIP Troc. Had some good times and enjoyed some memorable shows here.

Fay Johnston

Really gonna miss their movie Mondays and weekly concerts! Great theater

Jason Evans

I'm going to miss this place. I went there for Monday Movie Night. We saw Airplane. Great venue. I've been here tons of times before, but this time was sad, as I know the place will be closing soon. Many fond memories.

Jeremy Tinsley

Had a GREAT time at The Trap movie premiere with Jimmy DaSaint.

jeanine leclaire

We always sit in the balcony. Before entering they divide the people into two separate lines. If you're a lady your bag will be searched if you're a man you'll be patted down, I have no idea what happens to anyone who doesn't identify as something other then male or female. Otherwise the experience is usually good. Very large bathrooms-major plus

Isabella Draper

Great venue, amazing history! (Gets a bit toasty in there)

Luis Rivera

Saw the internet here and a few other bands over the last few years. Love coming to this venue.

H Qntna

Intimate venue that smells a little like stale beer. It adds to the atmosphere. If you miss the bottom rows, there's a balcony section. It's staff was courteous with the exception of the guy yelling sarcastically at everyone that had been standing out in line for 20 mins and making them move 5 mins before doors open and lose their spots. It has two bars so if the lower bar is full, use the balcony bar.

Elizabeth Wagner

Great location in Chinatown! Supports up and coming bands. Don't bring any food or water, though. They are strict on rules. Lots of history here! Love the atmosphere!

TheSpy InTheCab

I LOVE this venue and have been seeing shows here for over 25 years...... I'm crushed to hear that its closing. . . Just saw Stabbing Westward last night their to say goodbye..... I hope someone buys it.

Luna Alayna

Love this venue! They have a monthly Skeletor Karoke Gong Show you really need to check out! He sings along and gongs you off stage always a great performance. Has a bar. Beautiful theater. Always enjoyed concerts there. Cozy upstairs with a smaller artsy stage.

Amanda M

Good sound, friendly staff. Bring cash for coat check! Awesome concert schedule. Arrive early and explore Chinatown first. Easy walk from Patco. I've been enjoying this theater for over 20 years and I am never disappointed.

Cymande Hayes

Will miss this place. Thanks for the memories

Quintin Robinson DJGRANDQUE

Ran down a bit but they had a nice venue

Anne Cutler

The venue for the performance which we attended looked and felt like a fire trap. It appeared to have had no maintenance for at least 50 years. The performance was superb but we will never attend another event at the Trocadero.

Joseph Tchume

Legendary venue that if you never experienced it you definitely missed out.

Derek Metcalfe

The place is great. Overall ambiance is quite nice. Sound quality is pretty great.

Niles Hull

Bar and drinking area was upstairs so you couldn't see anything because the ceiling is so low and all the seats were filled. Worst show I've been to in a while. The bar is usually downstairs and everything is fine. Tonight was a waste of money

Todd Whitt

The setting is historic and unique. The sound was fine. The 21+ area is crowded with laughably bad veiwing and seating. The 1st floor standing area is a bit cramped.

Heather Randolph

Always an amazing show and always a good time at the Trocadero! Please don't close it down, Philly needs you!

Che Sa sa

We came we saw we did our thing ha ha

Jason Gruber

It stunk so bad in there I had to leave before the show even started at Crystal Method show last week. They need to do some major cleaning in there. The bar stools were all ripped and falling apart. I think it's the carpets in there when you walk in that stink the whole place up. I've been there a million times since 90s but I've had enough. There are too many nice clean venues in Philly now.

Michael George

This theatre is amazing and timeless! I’ve been to this theatre for an art show and a concert and I love the vibes. I would recommend to anyone a true staple and classic in Philly.

samantha grossman

Going to miss the troc. We saw stabbing westward here as one of their last shows. I love this place and we are going to miss coming here

Ed Gilroy

Great place. Fair priced drinks. Good location lots of local parking directly adjacent to the theater.

Robert Huber

Cheap Movies Mondays with quality movies. The atmosphere of this venue is vintage and really makes the concert experience better. They host everything from comedians, to burlesque performances. Pop - death metal. You can always find an enjoyable performance that fits your preferences at "The Troc". Another great feature is they partner with the Hilton Hotel only 1 block away and you can have your parking Validated instead of paying $30+ for the street lot next to the venue.

Robert McCormick

Movie Mondays - always worth it. Odd or old screenings of movies you probably missed on the big screen the first time. Admission gets you a free drink and snacks are affordable. Tonight was Amelie; small crowd but great show. Highly recommend checking out their fb page or troc's homepage for a lineup.

Kelly Martin

Had a great time..could use some updates on interior design

Angie Smith

Nice venue. Clean. Good sound. At first security seemed a little unorganized before opening the doors, but they got themselves together and started letting everyone in on time. The show we attended was all ages and to be able to drink you had to go upstairs. I don't know if it is always like that or not. Personally, I like that. I can enjoy the show without having drunk people spill beer on me. The venue's website says they validate parking from a couple of different nearby garages on 11th Street making the parking fee $10. We parked in a garage on 10th Street just around the corner for $9 without validation. That's really cheap for Philadelphia. Overall, a good experience here. I will definitely consider going back.

Ian Baker

Great place... Saw Henry Rollins but a concert would be just as good. Looking for a WuTang or Mayer Hawthore would be dope!

sam schroeder

Fun place to see a concert or event.

Howard Beleiff

Nice venue, beautiful old building. Small and easy to get to. Sound was good. I was there to photograph a band and was given all access and it was very easy to manage the work.

antmanhm delmar

Great place to see a concert. It has original Victorian Decor and there's second floor Balcony with seats and a bar. The drinks are reasonably priced for concert venue. The Staff is mostly friendly especially the head bouncer Keith is really cool. Some shows have GA with Balcony closed but if you're unable to stand for long periods of time like myself; arrive early so they can accommodate you. They also have Movie Mondays in the Second Floor Balcony and it's only few dollars with one free drink and bag of popcorn included. It's a lot of fun...

Captain America

A great historical venue .... and the best security staff around !

Herb Dodds, Jr.

The Troc is one of those iconic venues that you just need to see a show in. Gritty, untouched, classic, grunge rock feel. A true icon of the Philly Music Scene!

y2spaceace Frehley

Practice What You Preach Trocadero! This place looks like a regular bar from the outside they even have beer signs glaring from Windows so you can see it from the street and if this is being licensed as a bar to have these signs because in Pennsylvania as they are very strict advertisement laws people should not be waiting outside to get in. Lines at this venue are utterly ridiculously long and never go when it's raining snowing or inclement weather. Parking is another mess as they tell you to use the lot by the Hilton and this lot if you were a few seconds before 5 you could get a $50 bill or more. So don't even let them get you with that parking vouchers stamp scam. They have a downstairs area which is for the people under the age of 21 have a little snack bar that sells bad carnival style food and upstairs is for the people over 21 which is the bar area. This area upstairs is completely sticky like someone took the most sugary soda and wash the floors with it and the drink prices are out of this world at $10 for a Pabst Blue Ribbon for the hipsters. Hipsters don't care about money because they're just spending their parents but working people like me are not going to pay ridiculous prices. Security is a complete joke and expect bad touches so that tells you what kind of people are working there. Searches should be completely illegal unless done by a peace officer but their security guards have other intentions. Nowadays the Trocadero has little to no business which is a good thing and I think after their bankruptcy with threats to close down they should follow through on that statement. Never bring markers into this place to have your favorite artist sign your stuff because they will be thrown in the trash. I would never give this place any money to see a concert and there really needs to be a change in the modern metal seen today!

Alex Mendoza

A great place to have a good time

Emily F

great little venue for an intimate experience. even with a full house, we didn't feel like sardines packed in there. very well laid out and good acoustics

Andreita Luckstone

Antique theater so elegant and appropriate for intimate concerts .

Kim Finnie

Can't believe it closed

Marsha Razack

Really fun place with gear talent showcased

Unique Williams

It was standing room only with a packed crowd, no air, but had 1 fan over the dj. The event was upstairs and it was extremely hot. They should have had the event downstairs. Never again...

Zach Young

The Trocadero is always a decent place to go. The sound wasn't that great for the evening, but Fleshgod Apocalypse and The Black Dahlia Murder killed it tonight! So amazing!

Janet Gsell

Saw The Dead South. Great performance.

Meg Twombly

Great small venue for more under the radar bands. Bathrooms are quite small. Wish they told you in advance that you can't take your beer from the bar level with you

Joshua Brooks

Small theatre but very nice. I enjoyed my show greatly and they have a bar too.

Austin Gwiazdowski

Okay concert venue. They have a nice open space for listening to the bands and dancing, but their concessions are seriously lacking. They have a pretty poor beer selection and they had pizza that was made somewhere else which they warmed up for like 30 seconds. The pizza wasn't even warm and seemed pretty old. Their best beer was shocktop. Enjoyed the bands, and the space, which also has an upper level to watch from, but the place itself was not great.

Sara Gates

Such a gritty and cool mid-sized venue - used to be a burlesque theater and they play that up with the decor and atmosphere.

Xio M

Went to the 80's event n both times had a great time. The music was awesome. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. I Will go again as well loved the 80's costumes as well

Darryl S

Good venue & lots of variety of events on their schedule.

Frank Gigliotti

Happy 2019. Low Cut Connie Rocked the house!

Jessica Forest

Friend and I visited philly to see a show which was a pretty good. The venue overall was decent, intimate not overtly large. My only complaint was that they took my favorite PINK highlighter, reasoning was because people draw on walls. Common now, we are adults and not prepubescent 12 year olds who feel the need to draw on walls. Slightly disappointed about my stolen highlighter, but I supposed if another band who was good and they were not showing anywhere else I'd be back.

Alexi Castro

Great small venue, drink prices reasonable just very very small and the bar is up a very long staircase

Brian Shields

Love the venue. I have seen alot of bands here over the years. Its much more up close amd personal compared to a stadium type venue. It does get packed at times. Shout out to my buddy Keith who works the door. Always respectful

Useless Rebel -Dante-

Sad to see it go away

Nefertiti Brown

It's nice large space. Can be renovated or updated for the times.

Garrison Walgren

Saw Jake hill and Josh a. Third time here. It's small but great for small shows

Ronald Dembinsky

Great venue to see a show in Chinatown. Beer is reasonably priced and cold. Parking validation at box office. Clean restrooms. Excellent view from the balcony.

Lady Greville

I have loved the Troc for over twenty years. So sad there's closing it.

Samantha Silverstein

Did not enjoy sitting on a folding chair but I loved the show I saw.

Christine B

I cant believe this place is closing!!! Awesome venue! Drove 6 hours!!

Carlos Bernier

A legendary concert and music venue!

Lauren Ogden

One of if not my favorite place to catch a show. It's not too big. It's very intimate. Saw my favorite concert here, which was Down. Looking forward to seeing a show again here soon.

Ryann Righter

Favorite venue in the city!

Mellisa Hutchins

Great venue! One of my favorites by far in the Philly area. Saw Teagan and Sara and it was a very intiment show. Sat in the balcony and could still enjoy. Parking was confusing in the area but if you know the city you'll be fine.

Joelle Parker

First time at the Troc. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The show was great (we saw The Dead South) the building's architecture is old and wonderful. There upstairs bartender was on point. Will go again.

Laura N

Cool old theater. Great location right near Chinatown. Bartenders and staff are nice people. Movie Mondays are great. $3 for a movie on a big screen and the $3 goes towards a beer or a snack. You do have to be ok with sitting on the balcony steps- Come early to get a good spot! Have been to a couple concerts here, too, and enjoyed the shows.

Greg Johnson

Nice venue. Has alot of red. Upstairs you can sit down. I like it. Has quality sound I guess because it is a theatre. Cool molding and trim work all around the theatre. It has a nice bar upstairs so you don't have to go down to get a drink. All shows end around 11:00 p.m. because it is in the city I'm assuming it is because of some sort of city ordinance. Over all it is a great little place to go see a concert. Be careful going down the stairs the are steep.

Olivia Hennis

Beautiful theater, excellent space.

Lawrence Greenberg

I'm giving this five stars but you need to know that this place is not for everyone. It's pretty run down and has a serious Philly attitude but it's true theatrical faded grandure with so really interesting unique local events. I keep going back.

Local Artist

It was a great time with my 2 Decade Friend & Spouse. The Last Hurah for Dracula's Ball with "The 69 Eyes" Preforming who brought you one of the main songs from the "Lost Boys" Soundtrack.

Che Sa.Sa.official page

Awesome time we had a ball

Tippie McClellan

Beautiful place. Sad that it is closing

Aamir Sheikh

Great show by Saved by the 90s. Creepy people though. That's why taking a star away. Band was fantastic. Will return for them.

Wilfredo Rodriguez

Love the place but get your show tickets. Before it closes it Doors.

H Pison

I had the pleasure of seeing brain damage a Pink Floyd tribute band. It was a great way to spend a Cinco de Mayo. I have to say the band was that on and I can't wait to see them again! It had a great Vibe and an awesome atmosphere! I'll definitely return!

Megan Bennis

Saw Lacuna Coil and Epica in concert. This was my first time at the Troc and I was very impressed with the place. Staff were super friendly and lots of space even with a good size crowd. Also great sound!

Ricky Teter

A cool venue to watch your favorite performer in an intimate setting. This is a smaller concert hall, but those are my favorite types. Every place you stand is a good spot to see the person performer. Also, for the concert we attended the balcony area was 21 & up and was where the bar was opened. I thought this was a pretty cool idea. So if you wanted a drink, you just walk upstairs chill in a balcony seat & enjoy the show!

Jaime Urteaga

Small venue, difficult to see the stage when full, BUT, amazing venue and saw one of the best performances of all time - Matt Embree. Bartenders were friendly, vibe of the people was incredible. Absolutely one of the best shows I've ever seen. The best of his tour too (followed him for his subsequent shows).

Ron Wismer

It's a bit run down but the space is great

Jen Gunshore

Great Staff, came here for a rock concert. No matter where you stand you have a good view of the stage. You do need to be over 21 to access the balcony where there is limited seating, tho I believe most shows are open to those under 21....just not the balcony area.

x

Great variety of shows, very cool atmosphere. AWESOME Karaoke Gung Show every month!

Jordyn Ruth

This is my fav venue in Philly. I've been going to shows here since I was 16 and still love it. From standing room only to seated shows to comedy to drag shows to movie nights, they're the best. Plus, it's only a few blocks away from the Jefferson (formerly Market East) SEPTA stop which makes it beyond convenient to get to. Also, great food in the area. Can't beat Chinatown for dumplings!!

Becky Woodhouse

Good venue. The sound quality was good all night. Although I'm a little salty thinking about how much I paid for parking in a nearby lot...

David Clamp

Great place to see a band. I saw a Helmet play with Prong here, broke my wrist in the mosh pit, and just generally had a great time.

Chris Panasuk

Great venue

Michael King

Great venue for concerts. Easy to get closer up and still be able to see. Nice balcony area as well.

Cami Vampyregrrl

Haven't been here in 25 years, but it hasn't changed at all! Great show, super nice door people, and good bartenders. I will definitely look for shows here in the future.

Henry Knipe

Just saw the last show before the Troc is closed.

Randy America

Classic Philly venue that provided years of entertainment and support to both national and local acts. Sad to see it go.

Paul Bressler

One of the best venues to see a concert in Philadelphia.

Salvatore Profaci

Not very clean and had a bad odor...the shows are good, but the venue leaves a lot to be desired.

Big B

Worked there for years. The Troc is one of the most lntament venues in Philadelphia. Find a show you want to see.. and go. You won't be disappointed.

lou4192000 M

Great place to see a show, not a bad spot in the place

Scott Anger

I mean how can you not give a 5 star review? Who knows what the future holds for this venerable venue but it will always be near and dear to my heart. Rock on Trocadero. Rock on!

Michael O'Brien

Beautiful place to see a show. Unfortunately, the line-up doesn't have too much up my alley... Movie Mondays are really fun!

Anne Marie

Enjoy shows here and love loud music but sometimes the feedback is a bit much and you can't understand lyrics. Smaller venue but love to see certain bands here.

Albert Nicholas Jr

It was a great venue when it was open.

Smallekins

Great venue, intimate and historic. Excellent place to see smaller shows.

Ruxandra Popescu

Just went to a Hammerfall concert over there. Wonderful place, good sound!

Joii Tolkiien

We love Amorphis! Great show!!!

CG

Brilliant Fools at The Troc!

Chris-Stephanie Somers

Was there to shoot a video. The history of the building is remarkable

Nate Kokotek

One of the best venues in philly

Dawn Rapko

Great place to see bands. 2 floors with bars.

Amanda Fansler

I have seen a few shows here over the last 15 years. Always great atmosphere and fun place to see live music. One of my favorite smaller venues for sure!

Diane Lopez

I love the arts, must take in a show.

Christian Wenner

This was always one of my favorite venues; I've been there numerous time in the past 10 years. It's sad to see it shutting down.

Dana Brown

Always a great time!

James Lem

Little small but one of the best venues for Metal in Philadelphia. Staffs great and nice.

Robecht Margizzio

Cool little venue - security was crazy though!

Stephen Carboni

Have been here three times in all three of their venues •Streetlight manifesto (Standing room) •Stuff you should know (Seated) •Movie Monday - The Fate of the Furious (Balcony) It was very nice or the bartenders to explain how the movie Monday tickets/$3 voucher worked when we had no idea. The other 2 times I went, I never had a problem.

T.S. CP

Very nice place. I witnessed a great show here. the on staff workers didn't really feel enthused at all. The place was very clean. The bars drinks were very "eh." to say the least.. actually the drinks were watered down. I would love to go back for a different event. it is beautifully lit. my experience just wasn't what I expected.

Isabella Gambino

Nice old theater with lots of character

Wayne Mickletz

Classic venue. Been going here for years! Great place to see a show.

m2dizzle

I'm a big fan of their movie Monday deals. The bar and service is great and very personal. A couple of my friends have gone to the live musical shows and been blown away. Same can be said about their themed party nights. Awesome thearte that has been entertaining crowds for many years now. Parking can be an issue so make sure you give yourself plenty of time if you are going to try to find a meter or put her in a lot nearby. Plus it is surrounded by some of the best Asian restaurants in the city. Check it out if you get a chance

Arlene Glover

It was a Raw Art show. The way they make you wait outside should be changed. 2nd time coming and didn't start on time. But the Artists displays were amazing. Especially my Niece Love her - Creative Thoughts Design by Brittany G

Live Life

I been here once for the Philly Hip-hop Awards '18. This place is a historic landmark. The first in the US of it's kind.

Padre Adamo

This venue is simply the best in Philly. I have seen countless bands here over the last twenty years. The bar on the second floor has a nice selection of beer on tap and liquor selection. The accoustics here are awesome. Get some great food in Chinatown before you see a show.

Anthony Redden

Always enjoy the Karaoke Gong Show!

Mixhael Bonner

Had a solid experience at the Troc, very good sounds from the band that played, the lines at the two bars werent extreme and the service was good. I would highly recommend this place if your going to see a good band it can be a great experience

S Mulhall

Excellent venue. Just don't go to the bathrooms

Lisa Penzimer

We went to the Troccaderos "Last Breath, Zombie Prom". Its sad that it will be closing soon. But theres still some shows going on there. Definetly check them out. & look around the troc while youre there! What a beautiful old building!!

Kathryn Clark Snyder

It looks like an older theater, but it is beautiful inside and there is plenty of room for everyone.

Rachel H Mains

I used to visit here often. It was great to be back. I enjoyed Draculas Ball, Covenent and Front 242!

Cary Neff

Went there to see a show, and was pleased with the staff and cleanliness of the place. We stood on the floor, but could easily see everyone on stage. The sound and lighting were perfect. It's on the smaller, intimate side of similar venues.

Joseph Owens

Honestly, not one of my favourite places to frequent in terms of shows. The location and historical aspects of the building are the biggest pros of the venue. Unfortunately, its often cramped and views can often be obstructed due to the structure. Bathrooms are certainly not inviting either. Thats coming from someone whose seen quite a few dive bar bathrooms. Sound can be a challenge, but that isn't always the venue's fault.

Juan Leon-Ruiz

I recently just visited this place for the first time for a Monday night band; Of Mice and Men. You can't miss the place driving through normal traffic or even walking by, the sign is very well lit and visible, plus you can hear the live music playing from out on the streets. Walking in you're greeted by staff with great customer service and direct you into the right direction. Now my only complaint about this place, when you walk in a little further past the box office, there's the men's and women's bathroom to your right and left hand side, so right away it just smells like bathroom, almost like a portapotty (spell check me lol); other than that the place offers a small but good bar, some food as in pizza, pretzels, hot dogs, and even non-alcoholic beverages. Floor space is roomy even with a good size crowd, they do have a balcony section as well but I'm not sure if you have to pay extra for that. I'd do five stars but again, that bathroom smell is what got to me because even being on the floor, when the doors from the outside are opened, it pushes the smell into the concert area.
