This Movie Theater is classified in the category of Movie theater.
Overpriced, outdated, run down theater. No reclining seats, $13.32 for an adult ticket. Poor sound. Rude staff, especially Geraldine the manager. They haven’t updated this theater ever, since I was in college when it opened, it’s exactly the same. Much better options in Toms River, brick, or Galloway. The only reason this place remains in business is because of the location to LBI and the summer business. I grew up here and I’m a local. I do not know anyone that actually likes this theater.
I am allergic to dogs and a group of women came in with a dog and sat so in front of us. It is bad enough I have to put up with dogs in restaurants and stores and now they're even letting them into the movie theater where I thought it would be allergy free. Not only was the dog there, it was huffing and puffing like they was something wrong with it throughout the whole movie that the lady had to get out of her role and go sit in the back where they were no people. I don't care if it's a therapy dog and an emotional therapy dog or what, then you shouldn't be at the movies.
Good movies
Big and clean. Plus the guy in the wheelchair is a good man.
$13 buks for a movie an $18 for small popcorn an drink. I know they have to make $ on the refreshments but this is going overboard. Also the theater was a little warm an wasn't even crowded. Was clean an everyone was nice.
Honestly out of all the theaters I've been to this one has to be the worst. I live locally and always go out of town unless time is a factor this is my last resort place. Uncomfortable small seats that have been the same for over 15 years and are stacked way to close to one another and a funky smell always lingers. The staff is fair. And the over the phone customer service is terrible. No options to speak to an employee just robots. The insides need to be re-done or at least the seats and I'd give it a better rating.
Out dated movie theater , tickets were to expensive, seats were uncomfortable..
The staff here is always wonderful. But I'm unsure why this place has failed to update everything for the last two decades. When it's not only the only game in town, so they could do insane business with how the area is growing, but were all paying top dollar, when we could pay the same to go to Toms River or Brick, and quality of the theater is a much higher caliber. Id love to see this place put in the upgrades necessary to give their staff support it deserves with their excellent service.
Great staff always have a good time when we go
Love having a movie theater close to home, just wish there was more staff. Lines really long for tickets and concessions.
It's an older theater with less comfortable chairs. But the staff is great... If they would just invest a little into modernizing the seats in the theaters this would be a 5-star experience.
They play gud movies
VERY NICE and helpful to our group. We had a person whose knee was hurting and they went above and beyond to get her ice in a plastic bag, which was very helpful!
The amount of money you pay for a ticket at this theater is basically the same amount that you would pay for a ticket at a heater with recliner seats. The seating is not stadium seating so you're looking up at a huge screen the whole time. The theater is old and grimey! Smells gross! Totally over priced and not worth it at all. I'd rather drive to Toms River and see a movie in comfort for cheaper!
It needs to be updated
The theater is easy access for people with disabilities, and the workers were polite. That's about all I can say I liked about this theater. The theater is very dated. Most modern theaters have signs telling you which theater has which movie. Not here. The seats were old and very uncomfortable, especially compared to the new recliner seats of the updated theaters. For a VERY high priced theater, they need to upgrade. If I'm going to drop $50 at the theater, I'll do it somewhere nicer. We had only about 10 people in our theater and I'm surprised we had that many. And it was a Friday night!
Terrible sound, terrible picture, uncomfortable seating. The staff is the very best thing about this place. I live 2 miles from this theater and I choose to drive up the parkway to a better theater.
Movie was great. Theater was comfortable considering how cold it is. Food was good.
It's old need to up grade
Theater is ok, just need to be updated...
we don't do movies often Decided it might be a good change Really expensive. Or so it seems to us. Made the mistake of buying tickets through Fandago and they banged us an additional charge of $6 processing fee for paying with cc.
Saw Vice...great movie!
Safe environment but the building is getting older and needs updating
Ok but the chairs where the old style and the theaters where small
Unfortunately anything to do with entrainment in Manahawkin is horribly ran down including the bowling alley and this movie theater. Proximity is the only reason we go to this theater but every time we go the mold and funk smell grosses me out, and then I don't return for about a year or 2. Is best to take the trip to Brick....
Love this place, everyone that works there is so nice. The only movie theater in the area it is older, but vintage.
If i could give less than one star i would. I avoid this theatre at all costs and i live 5 min from it. Infact i drive 25 min just to go to another theatre. There seats are HORRIBLE for the price you pay... Regal get your s*** together or you are going to go out of busines!
The theater has uncomfortable viewing angles
The chairs suck and it's pretty overpriced
This movie theater is ok. I honestly feel like they could update it a bit inside and not sure if it's only been to my experience or if they often could use more help at the concession stand.
Love this theater!!
Saw Geen Book it was great
It works for a laid back shore town
There tickets should not be premium pricing! I think this seats step worse now then as a kid!
The employees are very friendly. It was $12 a person to see a movie which isn’t bad. The seats aren’t so bad even though they’re not recliner seats. It’s clean.
I'm not going to lie and say this theater is perfect. This is my local theater and i must say the staff and service has ALWAYS been accommodating, and quick to resolve any issue. Now yes the theater is a bit older but if you just need to see a movie real quick its always the place to go. (I stopped eating at theaters a while ago but popcorn, soda, candy are fine, ptezels were alright but my go to choice)
Thearters aer small but not bad. Seats are terrible and need to be replaced!
Good to bring the kids
Great time!!!!
Has a great time got a military discount and the staff knows how to butter popcorn like professionals
Nice to have a theater in the area, but because it is the only game in town, they have not updated this place for a decade, resulting in smelly and dirty seating and just decaying atmosphere.
It would have been a 4 star but it's so expensive it's ridiculous. Sure tickets are fair prices but when it comes to food and snack it's not funny. So I recommend having to sneak door in.
Should be updated or renovated for the amount you spend in entrance and food
Saw Solo, which was awesome! Theater comfortable and staff courteous
Saw Toy Story 4, great movie with my grand daughter
Horribly uncomfortable seats, freezing cold, and damp, musty smell.
The seats are very uncomfortable, some are broken others are loose, sometimes very smelly. Complained to mgt but they don't care, there are no other theaters in the area so they have it locked up, also no lower price for matinee.it really is a shame they don't do something about it. I'm not going there anymore, I go up to Jackson area, and why pay these prices to watch 20 minutes of tv commercials. this place is down right awful
Very slow ticketing. Long line and one attendant.
Great staff member, a slow night and the seats were no better than a folding chair.
Every time we go, all the workers are above and beyond friendly and helpful. Even at their insanely busiest times, they smile and work quickly. The popcorn is very good and the theaters are cheap comfortable.
The greatest employees you ever met in your life that's why
Not enough people manning ticket booth and concession stand on a Saturday afternoon. Very long lines. Terrible movie theater experience.
Loved it!
I visit Regal Cinemas all the time. This one in Manahawkin I have a little more trouble hearing than most. But it's a good place to go.
Too expensive.
Needs to upgrade ASAP.
They really need to remodel this theater and keep up with the times. Its the only theater without stadium seating. Needs a definite face lift.
Sunday nights are the day to go.
Thet need to remodel. Old and outdated.
Good theater, good sound.
Our tickets were quick to buy and the popcorn was fresh and hot even though we got the last showing of a movie.
Great theater, and Service
Decent theater but lacking. Place is pretty much how it was in the early 2000s and tickets are way over priced for it. The staff is very nice though.
Horrible old seating. Musty smelling theater. Sticky floors. Very uncomfortable and more expensive than Better equipped theaters. In need of up to date leather seats and a good cleaning. Worth the trip to Toms River if you have the time.
This is a theater that truly needs updating. I believe it is the only movie theater around that does not have stadium seating.
Past due for an overhaul. Taking advantage of the fact that it is the closest multiplex in the area. Time to clean it up and update seating to recliner stadium style. Makes the drive to newer, updated theaters worth the trip.
Older theater, still does the trick but could use an update
Went to see a movie but it only had a single channel of sound (no surround sound) it was like watching a big tv being blasted by sound head on. They gave us a credit to watch another movie but were not local so it was of no benefit.
Great local theatre, however there needs some updates.
Usually clean. Cashier for tickets usually efficient but rarely friendly.
Staff at the door were attentive and pleasant. The theatre is clean and well staffed, particularly for a mid day movie with a child. We went to see a 3-D version of Ninja Turtles and the focus was off a bit. Took nearly no time for the manager to attend to the issue and fix the problem. Seats may be a bit old fashioned, then again this is a beach area theatre and didn't expect the cushy digs of other high end theaters. Overall, the place was nice, people friendly and would return.
As movie theaters go, clean nicely maintained
If I could give this movie theater zero stars, I would. The theater always smells like piss and I would be more comfortable sitting in gold out chairs. They also blast the air conditioner. Movie sound is bad and the theater is dirty. Almost every time I've gone something goes wrong and our tickets have to be refunded. Also, the staff is incredibly rude, especially the bald man with the glasses... very rude to me, my boyfriend, our 2 friends, and my dad. VERY run down theater that is insanely overpriced. I recommend Marquee Cinema in Toms River or any AMC (brick, freehold, etc.). You will be able to buy tickets and twice the amount of food for half the price you would at this theater.
Great experience.
Always a decent experience. A lot of those split aisle theater seats. So no center seat
Lots of parking, nice seating, attentive workers, wide selection of treats & movies. What's not to love? Lol
The food is ridiculously over priced, it smells bad, the seats are stiff and uncomfortable, ETC,. I don't even think that the place deserves a 1 star if there was a zero that's what i would rate it. And I have been going to the theater since i was a kid and they haven't updated it at all.
very old place, very expensive as well. The seats are hard and the place smells, the movie isn’t fully on the whole screen, it is very small and staff is very rude. This place is horrible, do NOT recommend!
Theater was clean. Temp was comfortable. Movie played without issue. Sound quality was good. The theater is in need of a major update. Nothing wrong with what they have, it's just old and you pay the same price as nearby modern cinemas. Seats are the only major complaint - well past their prime!
This place is filthy! Trash cans spilling onto floor. Popcorn all over the place. Here on a slow Wednesday nite n it’s like this. One guy at food counter with a long long line. After 10 minutes n the line not moving i decided not to give this owner any more I’m money and skipped the snacks. It’s a theater out of the 1980’s really dated. Stay away people go to Toms River with a updated fully staffed theatre!!!!
Average service.
Popcorn prizes are ridiculous!!! Theater clean & seats comfortable
friendly staff, clean!
Quite literally one of the worst movie theaters I've ever been to. I used to go in the early 2000's in high school, and it hadn't changed at all since. Terrible seating, dirty, uncomfortable. A movie theatre stuck in the 1960s. Almost every other theatre in NJ has modernized. Do yourself a favor and make the extra drive to Toms River.
We were at the grand opening of this theatre, 20 years ago. At the time, it was great. It need major uprgrades now! Betting seating better sound, better flooring! We pay way too much to stay local and see a movie. I can go to the Regal in Mays Landing and gave 10x the experience for a few miles more. Stafford is continuing to grow, we need a big theatre that is comparable to others. I am begging REGAL to upgrade, or lose customers! Get with the times. Make it a place a family wants to go to!!
Even though it's an older theater, it's perfect for seeing movies in the summer as well as during the year and the staff are very friendly to all their customers. It's also located conveniently near all the stores and restaurants so we can enjoy a meal with family and friends and then go see a new movie that just came out!
Tickets and concession prices are over priced.....Stadium seating would be nice...Most theaters in Manahawkin Regal are too small to have recliners....Bring in a cleaning crew....People working there are very nice and with the hearing device i can now here every word....Just lower the price of the tickets or have a day with $5.00 dollar movies....
I've been coming to this movie theater since I was a little girl when it first opened, but I haven't been to it much in the last 5 or so. I was there a few months ago to see a movie and to no avail, everything is exactly the same. Where are the upgrades??? This entire theater needs to be refurbished ASAP. I'm afraid of sitting down on those seats they're so old and uncomfortable. Everything looks and feels dirty. Next time I go to the movies I'm gonna have to drive an hour just to get to a better theater in Toms River.
Average movie theater.
Time to remodel this outdated theatre.
Excellent. Things were very expensive. But everyone was very friendly
Not the best theathers and the seats are not to comfortable for sitting in for a whole movie
Fun games for the kids to play before the movie
This place needs major renovations. Surround sound wasn't even turned on for the first half of the movie. Seats were falling apart.
Great movies and service #moviepass
Movie theater is always clean staff is always friendly. I would go out of my way to go hear more if they just put more comfortable seating in the theater. If they changed the seats it would be a 5+++ star
Nice staff, small cinema. Older type seating. No promo's . I guess they give the swag to the bigger cinemas.
Conveniently located near me.
I love this place, a little pricey but what can you do.
I hate to say it, but if this theater fails to update.... I predict that it will fall into the same spot as blockbuster. Not only do they need to upgrade the interior decor as well as seat Comfort, they also must replace all projectors and sound systems for each room. Now is a good time to look into what type audio theater systems will be available within the next few months
Overpriced everything, uncomfortable chairs, and a flat seating arangement
Lol I wish we could do
Theater screen and sound is good. Old theater seats and no reservations.
Old seats and theater, but the food is good and the people are hospitable.
Regal needs to update their sitting. The chairs are old with very little padding.
By far the worst movie theater I have ever been to. It’s terribly outdated, it has the same uncomfortable seatings that has been there for over 25 years. Every other theater has motorized recliners do your self a favor and spend you money where you can watch your movie in comfort. I live and town and I drive to either Toms River, Brick, or Eatontown just so I don’t have to go to this outdated dump.
Staff is very nice. Movies are good but the movies sometimes are bugged out
Shares are super uncomfortable. Continuously have to shuffle in my seat because my rear kept fallimg asleep
The selection is mainly for kids. Very boring
The theater was clean. However the sound quality was poor, which was disappointing because we watched a movie full of music. Whomever is running the movie should come into the theater to experience it. I left feeling like I did not get what i payed for.
Nice theater. Variety of snacks. Latest first run movies.
Everything was just fine, but I wish they would update the seats to the more comfortable ones found in other theaters
Movie was good.
Saw the movie Solo.great movie lots of parking.
A very clean theater with nice associates and great popcorn. They show all the newest movies and with some in 3D. My wife and I go there all the time. We've never experienced any problems with unruly moviegoers.
Could use some updates
Comfortable and warm on a cold rainy night....nice surround sound and good picture quality......
Good
Very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the assistive device that they provided to my wife who is hearing impaired. It made the movie so much more enjoyable for her.
People working are great but I left feeling I got dooped. I'm paying top $ prices here but the old version of chairs and sticky floors made the decision for me to not come back until a remodel.
The theater smelled awful. I will not be going back.
The need to replace the sits they are to low and very uncomfortable sitting.
Not sure why there is so much hate placed on this Theater. Yes it is a bit outdated but not to the point where it is unclean or unusable. The prices are a bit high but so are most Regal Theaters so no real surprise there. This may not be a top of the line Theater but it certainly was not all that bad either. Staff is friendly and they usually get movies pretty quickly. All in all not a bad experience and four years later I plan on continuing to use this theater for my movie needs.
Uncomfortable seats.
Clean. Good service. Big screens.
I always love going to Regal Cinemas Manahawkin 10!!!
Very out of date with no stadium seating or VIP showings but the nearest competition is almost an hour away so they have a cornered market, probably the only reason this place is still in business...
Pretty dated but gets the job done.
Cashier sold us tickets to the wrong show time and sent us to a theater where the movie was halfway over. Usher allowed us to go to the correct theater for the showing we wanted. Theater is older and need serious renovations as far as seating is concerned. For $2 more you can go to Toms River and get fully reclining seats rather than these 1990s fold down style. Convienent cause it's local and clean otherwise.
It's got great staff
Enjoyed my time here but things are a little expensive $14.00 for a medium soda and popcorn. Seems a little steep.
Friendly staff, great popcorn...the seats in the auditorium I was in were half a step up from folding chairs, extremely uncomfortable..
Good movie
One of the most filthy movie theaters I have ever gone to. Cold, dirty bathrooms, no updated seats, horrible odor, old popcorn being served, flat soda, the list goes on. I will drive the extra 30 minutes to Toms River which is just about the same price as Regal and sit comfortable in a reclining chair and clean movie theater with fresh popcorn.
Was clean and staff was very nice. It was too cold in there tbiuvb
Great time
Nice theatre ...
Great place comfortable. Watching movies here is great!
We had the best time here with out grandchildren ...thanks
To overpriced but ok
Needs to be upgraded badly! The seats are very uncomfortable. The floors are always sticky. The bathroom was atrocious. They had a cute little arcade area. Regal cinemas has a good rewards program in general. The customer service is always nice here though.
It's your average movie theater. Wish they had more comfortable seats. Food is extremely expensive.
Staff went out of their way to be great to me and my daughter!
This theater has not changed in decades oh wait dummy me the ticket prices are very high for an old theater that still has non reclining seats old fashion board with movie times the only good thing about this theater is the staff is very frendly
Would rate higher if they had reclining seats
Hey, don't knock down our local movie theatre complex! My husband and I go there if not every weekend then every other weekend. The movies are up to date, the people friendly, the popcorn is good, the seats are fine, it's pretty clean plus they have a small section of arcade games and small tables with chairs for while you wait. What more do you need? Good family theatre. Worse would be not to have it at all!
Nice employees. Clean
They need a serious upgrade! The place is old but it seemed clean. A remodel would be amazing.
