This place has the most accurate name of any business ever; it's a movie theater with 5 screens located on Main Street. I'm partial to this theater since it's only seven minutes from my house but it does have great matinee ticket prices and the reclining seats are comfy as all get out.

Currently my favorite movie theater. Newly renovated theater with reclining seats. Matinee prices are quite reasonable. Fully reserved seating where you choose your exact seat online. The fresh kettle corn is sweet and crunchy. There are free seasonings for the popcorn and you can add the butter yourself. Beer and wine are available.

This review was originally written the weekend that Avengers: Endgame came out: Bargain Tuesday (ALL DAY) 6 bucks... Go to checkout & it’s $11.50 per ticket. I guess it’s only bargain Tuesday when a huge movie like Avengers: Endgame isn’t out. I’d love to hear what the theater has to say about this false advertisement. I tried to upload screenshots of the checkout process (with $11.50 prices) & also where it clearly says Tuesday $6 all day. They’re not uploading for some reason. Update: I was told in an email from someone at the theater that Disney will not allow them to discount. They stated that they are subject to penalty if they do so. They also told me that Cinemark would be fined for every discounted ticket they sold as well. I’m not kidding. Whoever is answering their emails (I’m assuming a manager) had the nerve to claim that about another theater (a well-known theater). Why would a known theater chain such as Cinemark sell discounted tickets knowing that they’d just be fined for doing so? They were selling discounted Tuesday tickets because THEY’RE ALLOWED TO... That would make a lot more sense,right? Okay,well Cinemark apparently is allowed to have the movie discounted on Tuesdays. They’re selling tickets for $5. I highly doubt they’d do something knowing that they’d get fined by Disney. So,it just sounds like Main Street is lying. I was told by Cinemark,by email,that they aren’t allowed to accept vouchers & coupons for Avengers. Okay,well that has nothing to do with discount Tuesday prices. Vouchers & coupons do not equal discounted Tuesday tickets. Main Street Movies posted something regarding ticket prices & Disney on Facebook,but did not update their site with any information regarding Disney’s supposed policy. What business wouldn’t put a disclaimer on their website,where tickets are purchased,to let people know why tickets supposedly can’t be discounted? The kind that don’t care and just want to take your money. The people that paid full price were simply desperate to see the movie and either didn’t question why the tickets weren’t cheaper,they just didn’t care or they believed the word of Main Street. I openly told them that I believe they are simply taking advantage of the fact that cinemas such as Regal & Cinemark are sold out,so they charged full price cause they knew people would spend that to see the movie right away. They did not refute this statement whatsoever. Update: 5/12/2019 So,now after a couple of weeks since Avengers came out,magically it’s now discounted on Tuesdays. Funny how that happened... I guess after the hype died down & the theater got what they could out of people,they figured they’d lower the price on Tuesdays to what it should have been from the start. Also,why are other Disney related movies discounted on Tuesdays coming up,if Disney has a policy against discounted tickets? Hmm. I went as far as contacting Disney Studios & was then told to contact another company that I suppose has the ultimate say so on discounts etc. (The company is called Swank). I’m done pursuing legitimate answers regarding this though. Ultimately businesses that do things the wrong way will be found out & they’ll lose customers. I figured I’d put this out there for movie goers to form their own opinion regarding the way Main Street does business. The choice is yours though. We simply will not support this theater any longer & regret ever purchasing tickets there in the past. Just stick to going to known theaters such as Regal & Cinemark. At least there you have less of a chance of nonsense like this happening.

Aside from it being pretty deserted it was really nice lol :) The people here helped us use the voucher and got us set up. We were the only people in the whole theater and the seats are reclining. You choose your seat when checking out in the concession area. Overall we would definitely come back. Very clean! Thanks so much!

I want to love it here, but I just can't and this is why. The bag check. So, they offer dollar movies during the summer for the kids. The movies are pretty good and the seats are the large reclining seats. If you picked in advance the tickets are $2 due to the fees, but that's still pretty great. However, when you go to get your tickets checked or enter the theater, they thoroughly check whatever bags you have with you. (I say this knowing that my bag was checked three weeks in a row, while most of my friends were not.) I understand their policy, and I get the need to not have people bringing in tons of stuff, however, this is the main reason I don't like this policy. No healthy snacks and not offering a free water option or any water option for the kids. If you purchase their kids snack it only comes with soda or sugary juice. Therefore, you then have to purchase an overpriced bottle of water.

Recently remodeled and a nice alternative to the the 10,15,20 multiplexes out there. I have seen several first run movies there recently and enjoyed my experience. The usual snack bar and also a small bar for beer and lite wines.

Your local neighborhood theater done right! Excellent leather reclining seats, spacious and comfortable. It has 2-3 small theaters and one large one. Reasonable food options from local businesses including churros and alcohol. Clean with friendly staff. Really if you live in the area there is no reason to go anywhere else.

Great Recliners that are perfect for movie watching. However, the lights on the side are distracting and you can hear other movies and people in the hallway while watching your movie. Needs better sound proofing+Darkness. The snacks are great, and is a pretty good movie theater overall.

It was "OK"; the food was cold and the staff behind the counter were too focused on personal conversation instead of trying to help. Reclining seats were great and if that is your only reason for stopping by, you'll be happy with it. One of the registers were only for a particular group of people and we were turned away to be helped by another worker. Won't be returning.

This is a predominantly a self serve movie theatre, which can be a good and an unfortunate thing. They renovated some time ago. There are does not appear to be an reclining seats, but rather the traditional movie theater seating. This theater is frequented by locals and University students. There is ample parking. Additionally, there are two-three ways to exit the overall shopping plaza in Case of rush hour or Saturday afternoon traffic.

They don't have a million auditoriums and they have local ads but they have low prices, a convenient location (next to UD campus and Main Street), and they have reclining seats. Only one auditorium is large and they don't show all the movies that are out but I have had pleasant experiences here and I've been several times

Fantastic theater. It was revamped top to bottom a few years ago, and is now what I would consider a high end movie experience. Seats are reclining, wide and comfortable, and have a pull out tray table for food. Screens are perfect and audio is always spot on. Love brining my wife here on date nights.

I have seen about 5 movies here. It's a nice cozy Theatre. It's clean and the staff is friendly. Seats recline and you pick reserved seating which is nice. Just a note: remember it's in a college town, so the majority of patrons will be younger and possibly a bit more *ahem* "vocal" during the show.

Was assaulted by a juvenile while on my way to the rest room. She was on her way back to her seat with a younger girl. She forced me out of her way as she didn’t want to miss the beginning of the movie which she was seeing for the THIRD TIME!! I was told to “move” in no uncertain terms! I was knocked off balance and almost hit my head on the floor. When I reported the incident to management it was suggested I return to my seat. A young lady arrived with a small bag of popcorn and a bottle of water. She apologized profusely for the incident then left as the movie was beginning. Other movie going occasions at this theater were uneventful.

Great place, recently renovated. Has all the perks of a big movie theater (including the high prices) but it's just in downtown Newark! There's plenty of parking available and the reclining chairs are a blast (if you fall asleep please don't snore ;) ) Edit: We bought our tickets online for a movie that started at 7:30 PM and when we arrived they had changed the start time to 7:15 PM without letting us know so we lost 15 minutes of movie. An email or text message should've been nice. When I told the person at the register she looked at me like saying "what do you want me to do"?

The theater was completely redone from the old Newark Cinema center. The seats recline and are very comfortable. You can buy drinks but you're limited to two beverages per person and beer and wine is all they had which is okay. Sound system was good picture quality excellent and we enjoyed the movie.

Saw movie in theater #1 . NOT stadium seating. Very flat floor. Didn't know so bought seats in middle. Most people buying towards back where floor rises a little. Large recliner like seats. Backs cut off bottom edge of the screen and the picture.

Have been to this theatre multiple times. It's always clean, the staff are always friendly and it's always a nice experience. Reclining chairs are a standard of today that this theatre meets. Will continue coming here to see the latest releases.

Was assaulted by a juvenile while on my way to the rest room. She was on her way back to her seat with a younger girl. She forced me out of her way as she didn’t want to miss the beginning of the movie which she was seeing for the THIRD TIME!! I was told to “move” in no uncertain terms! I was knocked off balance and almost hit my head on the floor. When I reported the incident to management it was suggested I return to my seat. A young lady arrived with a small bag of popcorn and a bottle of water. She apologized profusely for the incident then left as the movie was beginning. Other movie going occasions at this theater were uneventful.

Great place, recently renovated. Has all the perks of a big movie theater (including the high prices) but it's just in downtown Newark! There's plenty of parking available and the reclining chairs are a blast (if you fall asleep please don't snore ;) ) Edit: We bought our tickets online for a movie that started at 7:30 PM and when we arrived they had changed the start time to 7:15 PM without letting us know so we lost 15 minutes of movie. An email or text message should've been nice. When I told the person at the register she looked at me like saying "what do you want me to do"?

Small Town Theater Feel with Big Time Theater Accommodations. The Theaters are fully equipped with Hi Def Audio and Visual Equipment, high grade Recliner Seating. The Concessions are tasty, and varied. Popcorn is the best in New Castle County. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome, like the old neighborhood Theaters used to. Fun fact, they are owned and operated by local business named, Westown Movies. And for night and weekend showings they have a beer counter. A nice perk, in an already great theater.

You can pick your seats online and it's not People's Regal, so you're a winner one way or another. It's also pretty much a self-serve deal with concessions which is awesome if you like the minimal amount of people interaction

Movie theatre was clean and well kept. Prices are reasonable and I love the reserved seating. A note to mention, this theatre is located in the heart of Newark, College town, so it's a younger crowd. So your experience, the audience may be a bit more vocal. So if your looking for a quiet theatre, this is most likely not what you want

I was very disappointed with the manager of the movie theater today. After he forcefully screamed at me to “read the sign” he disrespectfully asked to search my purse. As I was on a date and I found this incredibly embarrassing. I will not be returning, and I hope that something is done about the attitude of the manager on duty at 1pm on June 3rd.

Great local cinema. Seating is in recliners and it's assigned. Layout is a little strange with one theatre separate, at the front. Tickets seem to be machine purchase only, but you might be able to buy at the snack area. They do also offer beer.

I enjoy going here on Tuesdays, cuz it's half off movies. It's all reclined seating, but I honestly don't feel like they clean the seats often or very well. The cup holders always seem to have liquid in them, but the floors aren't sticky, so idk. I do see and I'm not exaggerating, but everytime I go someone ALWAYS takes their shoes off and have their bare feet on the seats! EW!!! Who are you and why do you think this is something acceptable to do?!!!!!?!!! This is not your home! But I feel the popcorn is fresh and the soft pretzels are always fresh, so all-in-all it's a pretty decent place.

Great atmosphere. Modern feel and look. Self serving kiosks to buy your movies tickets on site with credit card. If paying by cash you can buy your tickets at the concession checkout register. Nice assortment of foods and beverages and the pricing is very reasonable. They even have a Keurig machine if you want to buy coffee. Theater seating are reclining and leather. The staff is very friendly and you get the feeling they love working there and care. They have Tuesday movie ticket specials at $6.00. It may be a dollar more than other theatres but is worth it for a cozier feel and the concession stand options and pricing.

First time there since the renovation; lobby is beautiful and I love the big comfy, reclining chairs. The afternoon that I took my 2 granddaughters (ages 2 and 3) there were NO OTHER CUSTOMERS and we were able to get popcorn and drinks relatively quickly. At the counter, as I got out my wallet for payment (all while juggling 2 kid's meals and my own popcorn) I told the gentleman/cashier that the children are 2 and 3 yrs. old and he abruptly said that everyone pays the same price on Tuesdays. He then told me to pick my seats and said sternly that we had to sit in the seats I had selected (once we got in and sat down, I realized WE WERE THE ONLY THREE IN THE THEATER). He handed me the tickets and said that I should make sure to give them to the ticket taker before entering the theater. As we started toward the theater, I realized that I did not have straws, I went to get them and dropped one of the kid's meals. The concession worker immediately began making a replacement and the gentleman/cashier called the ticket taker to clean up the mess and told him to make sure to take my tickets (which I had already given to him while both my hands were free and I was waiting for the kid's meal). Still, NO OTHER CUSTOMERS. Later I asked the cashier (who said he was "one of the mangers") why, when he saw me struggling to juggle my food and drinks and corral my granddaughters towards our theater, he couldn't have helped me out and torn my tickets and taken half at the cash register. He responded it's "NOT HIS JOB". While good customer service is sometimes hard to find I am always unpleasantly surprised when it doesn't come from management. I've shared this experience with family, friends and my co-workers at school and I can think of a lot of other places that I can take my granddaughters for $33.00 on a Tuesday afternoon with better customer service.
