Here you will see the feddbacks of people like you who are consuming the services of Landmark\'s Ritz Five (Movie Theater) in the state of Delaware.
At the moment this firm gets a rating of 4.6 stars over 5 and that score has been based on 662 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an feddbacks average is almost the best, and it is founded on a high number of scores, so we may say that the rating is very reliable. If many people have bothered to value when they are pleased, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to give scores when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Movie Theater is classified in the category of Movie theater.
Great theater. Small. Only issue is parking. Hard to find street parking.
Nice place to watch movies
I loved the selection of movies, comfortable seats and nice staff.
This is a fine neighborhood movie theater that shows films that are sometimes a bit quirky or whimsical, as opposed to the standard blockbusters seen in bigger theaters. The seats are getting long in the tooth, but sight lines to the screen are good, and the sound system is excellent.
Great place to see independent film.
Just average movie theater with not so friendly staff. Very robotic approach to customer service. Popcorn served in bags instead of containers which was awkward. However, the popcorn was tasty and fresh.
We love this theatre. It offers many movie options that aren't playing in the larger more commercial theatres. My husband brought me here on one of our first dates and it remains one of our traditions!!
Solid art house theater, will definitely go back.
Such a nice little indie theater!
Ticket prices are reasonably priced, nothing fancy but still very enjoyable for indie films and comedies. If you are seeing a big production movie, you may want to spend a little extra for a stadium style theater with a larger screen
All three Ritz theaters in the area are great. Clean, nice sized screens, great concessions (Italian sodas), and best of all: quiet audiences.
I saw "The Post" here. It's a great theater. It has an older vibe to it due to it's smallness. I can have an appreciation for that. The movie selection is often great. The prices are average. It can get a bit crammed. Overall, though, I find this a very nice theater in a great location.
Excellent always best films
Affordable theater for Indie Films.
Excellent condition, excellent movie and theatre was as anticipated. If only parking was better.
love the Ritz theaters. great ticket prices!
Always a superb selection of foreign and indie films. Excellent seats. Better selection of theater food than most movie outlets. Generally parking nearby, but (and this is important) don't be late with your meter, the Philadelphia Parking Authority is vicious.
Saw a pre screening of Late Night. Love this old theatre
Great staff. Always friendly.
Favorite place to see movies in Philadelphia! Great selection of independent films and cozy theaters. Can’t beat the ritz!
Good place to go wirh a date
This is the kind of place that gives Philadelphia its magic. There are only four screens here. The Ritz Five picks up the "weird" things you want to go see. Re-releases, indie, international, cult films, all show up here. The other strong point of the Ritz Five are the people who go there. You're basically guaranteed to be watching a movie with people who care as much as you do. No children screaming. No people talking during the movie. It's a wonderful experience that makes "going to the movies" a worthwhile experience. A big "thank you" to the staff who make the Ritz Five such a wonderful place.
I love going to the movies, and I love independent movies. The Ritz is one of my favorite places to go, their staff is nice and they always have a good selection. When you go please try to buy some concessions or something, it's always good to support your local theater. I usually just buy a coffee, somebody has to keep them in business.
Great Independet Movie Theater!
Great theater, easily accessible by septa or by walking/driving/ Uber Some amenities you may be used to at movie theaters like buying tickets online / reserved seats / full alcohol bar are not available here as in other area theaters like the AMC North Broad, but this is only a minor issue, if at all. Ticket and food/drink prices are very fair.
Nice theater. If love cinema, you already know this place.
Fun theater that shows excellent independent films. Highly recommend getting a tea with your movie!

Hidden colors 5 was dope #HC5 #Hiddencolors5
Nice, comfortable seats. Would of gave 5 stars but coffee price too muchb not a variety of food/snacks
Great selection of movies! Free popcorn and soda refills! Yummy ice cream sandwiches!
Amazing Variety of New Run Independent Movies !
Nice theater with a good variety of hot teas available at the concession stand.
The Ritz V is a nice indie theater. Shows movies other theatres don't and has higher end snacks. On the price side and the auditoriums themselves could use an upgrade. But overall it's a great theater.
I was happy to find easy parking at their official parking lot. They have great artistic movies of course.
So cozy I fell asleep. $11 nap.
Nice theater a little old fashion but great sounds
Unfortunately, this theater has seen better days. The area, is nice. But the inside is tired, worn out, and really could use some attention. They have a decent snack stand, and it is a reasonable walk from a decent part of town., but the seats are a mess, the floors are dirty, the sound is pretty rough. Honestly, unless they were playing a specific movie that I had to see right then and there, I go to another theater. It is rather sad, I know there is history in this theater The fact is, these kind of small theaters just don't get the traffic the other larger ones do. And they're starting to suffer..
I went here to see Beautiful Boy on November 9th 2018. Two tickets were $20.50 for the 5:10 show. Refreshments were pricey, but if you buy large, you can get free refills. Nice atmosphere, however a mouse was in my movie theater before the movie started, so I was feeling uneasy to sit there for two hours.
Appreciate this place and its offerings
This is my favorite movie theater in Philly. They show great, thought provoking independent movies. There's always a good variety of films. The concession stand includes baked goods and tea /coffee. The theaters have variable temperatures, some very cold and others more mild.
This is one of my favorite places to see a movie. I like that they also show foreign language films.
Great theatre, small but it wasnt as busy as your regular AMC type. The seats are very comfy and recline though they are no lazy boy sofa chairs still comfy regardless. Small consession stand offering swift and precise service. Not many young people as most movies seem to be for a mature older crowd. The theatre screen itself was amazing quality not your ordinary 2d i bet they have some quality projectors in which i didnt bother asking about details. All in all very quiet, fast service, clean, comfy seating, and great customer service. Good for a quick movie getaway or even a date.
A unique staff! Always very friendly
Great atmosphere, great popcorn
I loved the screening of Long Shot.
This is a great theater. They show a lot of independent movies, which is nice. Super clean and they have comfy seats. The concession stand is good with lots of options.
Always fun to catch an independent film here. Love the old-school feel.
The great thing about the Ritz theatres (there are three) is that they are the only theatres in Philly that show limited-run movies. And the seats at the Ritz V are much better than the seats at the Ritz Bourse, which are really old and need replacing.
Nice old school movie theater. The selection of smaller films there is pretty good
Great theaters with the best selection of serious films. Intimate sized theaters in a multi-plex compound. It isn't a roudy kids type center...so don't expect to see Batman type movies here...thank goodness!
They have the best popcorn because they use real butter. They show great movies and screenings. The personnel are very friendly and helpful
Came to see a matinee showing of "Lady Bird" on Christmas Day and given the high volume of people in the theater lobby waiting to get tickets, I was very impressed by the professionalism and efficiency of the staff. Tickets are generally around $10, though they do offer a $8 matinee special during the week. I was also satisfied with the quality of the screening room itself--clean seats, clean floors, good view of the screen, top-notch movie quality, and overall no complaints. I would definitely come back for another movie, even though I only go to movie theaters when there's something I REALLY want to see.
A cool place to go
Great in town movie theater, old school and cozy. Excellent popcorn!
The popcorn man was vv good at buttering the popcorn. It was layered.
ALWAYS a good movie playing. Best popcorn and snacks! I've been going to the Ritz theaters for years. They've been the gold standard of top quality film theater and transformed the entire Delaware Valley as they established that Philly cared for great films. When they came to town, there weren't the Bryn Mawr or Jenkintown historic restorations. We have them and others because of the Ritz theaters.
Great indie selection in rotation all the time.
beautiful time
Great small theater showing independent films! Doesn't have the updated seats or sound of the bigger theaters, so don't go in expecting that. They have 5 films showing at a time for a reasonable price (a little more than $10). Timings are limited so check before you go. Would highly recommend seeing a film here if you can, they show a lot of hidden gems!
A great place to visit for a quick movie. Good food prices as well. Would definitely go back, just not in the greatest shape
Best place to watch a movie. Ever. Not even gonna explain why. Just is.
Great movies, unique movie snacks. Love that they have flavored powders for popcorn. Great lounge area. Unfriendly staff but not a huge deal.
One of my favorite movie theaters. The selection is always wonderful and provides movies that other more popular theaters do not show. I enjoy the old fashioned feel of the place. This theater also offers student discounts.
Great place for movies out of the mainstream. Excellent nearby restaurants.
Good place to get out of the heat and see a movie.
Plays the movies that people should watch. Service is good. Theaters are kept clean.
Old and dated, but the only theater in Philly you can see quality independent content.
Came here for a presentation event and couldn’t be happier with the staff and overall experience.
Semi private event. Well hosted. No trailers.
Great art house movie theatre. It has movies you won't see in a main stream theatre and it has it holds good main stream movies longer than other theatres. You can buy much more sophisticated snacks, coffee and tea. The only downside is that street parking is limited to 3 hours in the area, so if you are going to eat before or after, you'll need to park in a lot.
Nice little old fashioned theater
Cozy, small neighborhood movie theater. Needs a bit of an update (seats) but shows quality movies and is convenient.
Great , clean, courteous and always quiet - great 2 hr getaway from.......
Very intimate movie theater! Clean bathrooms too.
Cosy little spot showing smaller, independent films. In case of Disney fatigue.
Great little theater! Love that it plays more of the smaller name Indy films.
Small but very nice theater. Handicap accessible.
Always love a landmark theater. Excellent selection of movies including arthouse and documentary. Didn't have the popcorn, but the prices seemed pretty reasonable. Best of all, I came on a Wednesday and apparently my ticket was half price so I only paid $7.50 to see a movie (not sure if this is a regular deal at this theater, but I'll find out!).

Nice old school Landmark movie venue.
Love this quaint theatre in the historical district if Philadelphia. My favorite.
Great place to watch indie movies. A little pricey for tickets but par for the course for seeing a movie in the city.
Love going here, they show a lot of artsy movies not in most theatres. Great service and great popcorn. Recently went to see Your Name, it was an excellent experience!
I really like this theater - it's really cute and perfectly sized for my taste. It's near lots of restaurants as well.
The ritz theater's are a life saver for any cinephile
Art house films presented in the best cinemas in Philly. The only way to watch.
Small but pleasant movie theater in the heart of the city. Went to a free advance screening with daughter. We sat close to the front of the viewing room. Seats were about average comfort (firm yet soft, but had to slouch considerably to rest my head on the back). Sound and picture quality were perfectly acceptable for a standard format film. Didn't get rushed out at the end while watching through the credits (I do that; I'm weird). Bathrooms were easy to find and in good, clean form.
Great place to catch a good indie flick!
Perfect arthouse cinema.
great spot to catch a movie (if you are into art-house films)
Comfortable and generally quiet. And the Ritz theaters book the most "grownup" movies of any theater around.
Nice and clean
First time there and it was the only one playing Greta ,that move was crazy
Always good for indy films
A trip back in time before the 24 theaters of today. Roomy theaters in a great downtown Philly location.
I love everything about the Ritz theaters!
Great theatre! Affordable ticket prices.
The movie experience is great but only one bathroom for that many people? Otherwise five stars!
Great venue after all those years away. Thanks for the George Harrison birthday remembrance. Hari bol.
...comfortable seats, clean restrooms, rare viewings...
Theatre was pretty clean. Friendly staff
A small and cozy theater. And it is benficial to keep your student i.d. for student discount on tickets.
Beautiful architecture
Good theater with an interesting selection of movie and the best movie theater popcorn I have ever had. The facilities do feel a little out dated (they don't have reclining seats, and it just feels like a slightly older theater), but I think it is still great. I had watched blackkklansman here and it was very good.
Small theater w/nice staff, would definitely come here again!
My appreciation for Ritz five says less about its efforts than about its lack of competition. It's the only theater in Philadelphia showing movies other than blockbusters.
Employee introduces the movie, completely unnecessary.
Place is always great. Quiet. Interesting movies.
Amazing food, atmosphere, and really unique movies. One of my favorite theaters!!
Large theater with excellent leg room and comfortable seats. Love this place.
Great place
Nice theater. Comfy seats.
My go to local indie theater! Love this place and my movie mems here.
Quality films. Comfortable chairs for not being the new recliners.
An arts movie theater with a personalized touch. A well instructed staff educated to provide personal, respectful customer services.
We went to an weekday evening showing and only spent $25 for two tickets, popcorn and soda!
Facility was nice but the staff was very rude

Movie was funny. Popcorn was little stale service was great. Employees were kind and friendly
How come I have to go to Philly to see a great movie. Thanks Ritz for five star movies.
My neck ached from having to look up at the screen for 2 hours, and we sat in the middle of the theater. Theater designers should try sitting in the theaters they design. The movie, On the Basis of Sex, was fantastic.
The staff is very nice
Maybe my favorite movie theater in Philly. This is the theater to go to if you want to watch a movie the right way. They have a no cell phone policy and even monitor the theaters to enforce the rule. Staff is very polite and helpful. They show Academy Award quality movies at the theater so don't go in expecting to see any blockbusters, but if you're into more artsy or Indy movies this is the theater for you.
Good movies there
Excellent movie theater...
Great movie theater. Shows such fantastic independent movies.
Nice theather. Does not get crowded.
Cute independent theater. Good selection of films you won't usually find elsewhere
Free refills on large popcorn bundle with soda, nice intimate setting and lots of seasonings for popcorn...#popcorn
One of the nicest theaters I've ever been to. Free refills on popcorn and soda. Save with validated parking, though we had to walk a bit.
They managment was very accommodating, and the staff is super nice!
Turn up the A/C!
I love going to all 3 Ritz theaters. They're all excellent with an awesome choice of movies to see.
The staff is professional and friendly. The snacks are good. Even if you don't like the movie, you will have something to discuss. They are always interesting.
Great place, along with the other 2 Ritz Theaters, to catch "art" cinema, independent films, and documentaries.
This place is so awesome. I loved the movies that are shown there ... the staff are friendly folks. Clean restroom and good popcorn!
It's a rather pleasant movie theater, in historic Society Hill. There are many esoteric films, shown in Philly's three(3) Ritz movie theaters. On occasion,I have seen films here, that I've missed in NYC. Finally, unlike any other place that I know of, they still sell real Buttered Popcorn. I mean, pop corn, that might stain your clothing.
I love this theater. They always show the best indie and arts house films, including specialty features like the royal Shakespeare company and opera movies. The concessions are good and the place is always clean.
Not the fancy/new theaters around. But a place with great popcorn, friendly staff, and patrons who respect a film.
One of my favorites places in the world - the definition of "art house."
Great small screen venue. Best films available.
Felt like a kid again before recliners were a thing
I am a huge fan of the manager and her entire staff. The movie selection top notch. I feel confident in the five start rating I gave to them. Enjoy!
Very cute place. So so so cute.
Nice friendly stuff. Place is rather small for big city. No seniors discount on weekends.
Ole time theater with comfy seats that hosts obscure, or soon to be released films. I especially enjoyed the Q&A after the movie Long Shots.
I have been going to the Ritz Five on the rare occasion for at least 25 or so years. But over the past five years, after becoming a member of the Philadelphia Film Society, I and my girl screens pre wide released or small indie films or at the Ritz 5 or one of it's two sister theaters (Ritz East & Ritz Bourse) around 75 times yearly. While the theater seats are in need of updating, they are clean and not shabby in any way. The screening rooms are always clean (no sticky floors), the sound is clear and the screens are full size. I estimate the largest of the 5 screening rooms holds 350 - 400 guests. The theater is not updated for 3-D films to my knowledge. No biggie for us. This theaters claim to fame is it's focus on small films that you are not likely to see elsewhere. Be they documentaries or indie produced stories. The films are from all over the world and in their original languages, requiring sub-title reading sometimes. This can take some getting used to, especially if you are a slower reader because in some languages like Chinese where the speech is quick, you almost have to be a speed reading to catch everything. If you view this as a challenge rather than an annoyance, you will enjoy the experience better. Our favorite foreign language film genre are Hong Kong crime films. Good stories, acting , direction and fantastic "bang bang, shoot em up" action. However, main stream films are shown there also. So don't get the wrong idea that only "artsy fartsy" films are shown there. Wednesday is discount ticket day...all day long. For years I have considered Ritz theater concession stands the best in the city. Because besides making available candy from other countries that you will be hard pressed to find elsewhere (although not as unique as it was years earlier because of the up cropping of upscale confection and desert shops over the last decade) it is only one of 4 theaters (the 2 other Ritz properties and The Roxy Theater) that serves real butter on it's popcorn! Not the artificial swill served as butter on popcorn at the big box movie theater chains. Yuck. Tip: If you say "layer it" when you order popcorn, the attendant will put butter on the popcorn in the half filled bag, fill it up and add more on top. Yum. You can get Italian sodas (less carbonated), bottled juices, teas & water, premium ice cream popsicles, rich coffee, hot teas (lemon ginger is my favorite)...along with the common fare you expect to see at most movie theater concession stands. For reasons I have no clue about, they do not serve Nathans hot dogs like their 2 sister theaters. Bummer. Lastly, while it is possible to find a metered parking space on the street, many times you may have to park in a garage. They have a discount arrangement with one multi-level parking lot on 2nd Street about 2/3 of a block from Ritz 5. Ask the theater attendant for a parking voucher and using it will get you 50% off of the parking fee. About $10.00 instead of $21.00. Nice. Enjoy!
This is a very nice theater where the staff all look formally dressed. They show only certain films but they are of a better quality.
I enjoy the atmosphere and the other patrons even the women who are a little chatty during the movie sometimes. They have way too many broken items , the theatre should be overhauled.
My favorite Philadelphia theater! I've loved this place since the 1980's.
Way over priced food and water. The theater is small in side.
My neck ached from having to look up at the screen for 2 hours, and we sat in the middle of the theater. Theater designers should try sitting in the theaters they design. The movie, On the Basis of Sex, was fantastic.

One of my favorites places in the world - the definition of "art house."
Felt like a kid again before recliners were a thing
I am a huge fan of the manager and her entire staff. The movie selection top notch. I feel confident in the five start rating I gave to them. Enjoy!
Ole time theater with comfy seats that hosts obscure, or soon to be released films. I especially enjoyed the Q&A after the movie Long Shots.
I enjoy the atmosphere and the other patrons even the women who are a little chatty during the movie sometimes. They have way too many broken items , the theatre should be overhauled.
