Movie and sound quality was decent; however, for an AMC theater they charge a premium price for tickets and food, but the actual quality you get for food and seating isn't worth it unless you can get in on a deal day for cheap.

First I stood in line for 10 min. Once I got to the concession counter the lady ask if I was in some club I said no and she said I had to get in another line, this is stupid as all I wanted is popcorn and a soda, the time for the showing was near so I had to go inside to the movie. After 3 hours I was really angry about this and probably wont go back there nor will my friends. There was a lot of confusion with the employees as only one person was doing work. Also the place was not clean and the men's room was awful. I and my friends went to have a good time but that turned out NOT to be the case. Also the volume was way to loud!!! It hurt my ears. Management better take notice or they will be closing too.

The staff was quick and polite.we are stub members and got 5dollars off a popcorn bucket that only cost under 5 dollars to refill through out 2019 year.we will be back soon.The prices could be better.

This theater is worth going to simply due to convenience of location. It's been a Dover staple for as long as I can remember, but it's 2019 and it desperately needs to be upgraded. The screens and sound just don't cut it anymore, not for those prices.

Do not go to the Dover Mall movie theater it is infested with rats!!! My friends and I were there tonight and right before the movie started two were on the top of the steps and trying to jump on us so we all jump up and ran out and reported what had just happened to the manager and yes they refunded us back our money . They need to shut that whole area down even the food court because you know that area is infested as well because were there is food there is rats and even one of the workers was even complaining about the rat problems they have and that something needs to be done!!

Dirtiest movie theater I've seen in yrs!!! During the movie my kids seen mice running around the floor & the seats are very uncomfortable....... My advice is go to Middletown or the beaches for better movie experiences

Average theater that is greatly in need of an update. I think they get away with lacking quality service, sound, and screens due to lack of competition in the area. I was hoping for improvement when AMC took over but it has been a mixed bag. Was just there yesterday and they seemed to have the air conditioning on in 30 degree weather. No way to buy tickets without waiting for people to go through concessions. Makes the lines & wait times far longer than they have to be. I only go because of their matinee prices.

The new set up is absolutely horrendous. The waiting in line for both tickets and concessions is a logistical nightmare. You have to wait way too long to get in and then you run the risk that on top of that a group of their premier members will come in to make you wait even longer because they take them first. They never seem to have enough staff to cover. I arrived at 12:50 for a 1:10 movie. I finally got my tickets at 1:12. Not to worry though as I didn’t miss anything because this theatre then runs 23 minutes of commercials and trailers. The movie started at 1:33. Absolutely ridiculous. Put in some electronic kiosks for just tickets to alleviate the pressure on your crew at the very least. You should be very thankful this is the closest theatre AMC as the moment there is a better option I won’t be back.

It's been sad seeing this theater go downhill since I was a kid. Anymore the popcorn isn't great, everything seems rundown and dirty, and the projectors in the theaters appear to need cleaned/calibrated.

Don’t recommend unless willing to pay extra / they have a separate line for premier members so after 25 minutes of having to wait ..... watching person after person jump in front of us .... we missed some of the movie - so they lost 7 customers - it’s ridiculous so I warn out of town people or less frequent movie goers not to go

Not such a good experience this time. Always a line but it moves pretty quickly. Only problem was when we got to our seats it smelled like urine. Not acceptable in any form. Will think twice before going again even for a $5.00 movie.

Movie was great, but the theater is slipping more and more. Most movies start at 1:30 on Tuesdays and they didn't open the doors till 1 pm and only had 2 cashiers on for the first 5 minutes or so. There was no salt on the popcorn. Just not a nice experience. Most of the folks in our development are now starting to go to Middletown. What a shame.

This is for their online ticket purchase that they have a $9.45 convenience fee. Then they make everyone buy their tickets at the snack counter so you still have to wait in the same line to get popcorn.

I am an A-list member and I enjoy seeing movies. However, the theater is in need of updating. Friends and family don't want to go to this location because the seats are old and uncomfortable. It badly needs recliners to be competitive. I have called AMC customer service number countless times, but for some reason, suggestions and concerns don't get any feedback.Projectors have broken down multiple times over the past several months, which shouldn't be happening. Delaware patrons deserve a nice AMC theater as Regal has 2 nice locations within an hour drive. Please bring a Dolby Cinema here and business will improve greatly. The management at the location has improved since the Carmike days and the theater employees are for the most part, are a friendly group. One of the head managers, Jacob, is a real bright spot within this group. He is extremely personable, and tries to do everything he can to make sure customers have a good time.

Workers playing around.. Joking loudly.standing in a huddle laughing and socializing with large crowds of customers not being serviced. Popcorn stale and not fresh. The soda fountain is a fail.. Butter fountain a fail. Not a fan of the self service. Trashcans full of trash. No boards to notify you on whether you can be seated or not. People just have to stand around the soda fountain or butter station area. Very disorganized.

This is the second time I've got up from a movie and left because the movies sound was too low. Tried to watch the new Annabelle from middle seats and couldn't hear. My wife told the manager and she gave her a set of hearing aid head phones. When she got back to her seat and missed the beginning one headphone didn't work. We left from theater#12 and got free tickets to a different movie. If you're not happy don't be afraid to get up and demand either a refund or free tickets to a different movie even after the movie is over. If enough people do this they would have to make changes.

We enjoyed the film, unfortunately it was broadcast poorly in that there was about 6" of the movie all the way around the screen. So some of the wording like locations were unreadable on the bottom right of the picture. We were concerned also because the projection was pixelating throughout the screening.

Movie, sound, and seating we're all good quality, but... Almost no staff, restrooms terribly inadequate for the number of theaters , and it was COLD, mid 50's in the winter either there was no heat or nobody thought to turn it on or check the theater

Facility needs a total upgrade badly! Understandable that if you're the only game in town you can charge more, however for the money that we're paying I don't think it's too much asking for adequate bathrooms, clean carpeting and at least comfortable seating! It's horrendous to see the advertising of AMC showing a properly funded theater with leather reclining seats, fully equipped service stations and online seating options only to look inside of ours to see a dump! It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "classic". Come on AMC we deserve better!

Never have I ever been to a theater that DON’T have a entrance from the outside! So we go to see a 10pm movie, all the mall entrances by the theater is LOCKED, Mall security tells us to go to the food court entrance... Okay, no problem. The movie let out almost midnight and guess what?! You have to use the movie theater exits

Very few options as to snacks, let's not even talk about healthy snacks (nowhere to be seen). The rooms always have a particular smell and not in a good way. Last time it was wet dog scent, I guess that was the scent of the week. They should watch out for that because you spend no less than 2 hours in there. You dont want people getting allergies.

This theater has really gone downhill...mixed concession and ticket lines are long. Not enough staff and filthy concession area. I don't even want to set my cup down to fill or put lid on. I mentioned nicely to manager that people were complaining and all she could say is 4 people called out and we are trying to get people through line. Understand this but what about the same conditions for over a year now. Sorry AMC Dover I'm finding another theater until you clean up your act.

Saw a movie today (12:30 May 8th) and the auditorium was FREEZING. Seriously why on earth would anyone ever want it that cold? Other moviegoers were making comments as well, so it’s not just me.

Theater experience was below average. Entrance was on the dark side. Line to get a ticket was very long unless you were a special member. I would think all the customer are special. This is my 2nd time going to movie since theater has been an AMC. I place is going down hill. Was is a joke is to have a sign we "value our customers ". The owners should try the experience the the average movie go has. Needs a face life but it needs to better service its customers first. The only game in with in 25 miles is was is saving this place.

Rarely have people working in ticket booth so if you don't want food you have to wait behind everyone that does to buy tickets and vice versa. If you buy tickets online you have to wait behind everyone buying tickets anyway to get food. The line is rediculolus compared to every other theater. I think they do this to force you to buy premier membership to skip line. That and they don't staff enough. I think I'll make the extra drive to Rehoboth from here on out. This is getting old fast. The theater itself is fine if they would get their act together.

Dated theater with non-reclining seats. Definately needs an upgrade but picture and sound quality is very good. This theater is the only game in town unless you want to travel 19 miles to Middletown or 40 miles to Bear or Christiana. The ticket line and concessions line are one and the same (in the afternoon but I couldn't say for the evening performances) so either get there early or buy tickets online to avoid missing the trailers or first minutes of your movie. The entrance of the theater is through the food court at the rear of the Dover Mall and parking is plentiful.

Good movie but what a DUMP of a movie theater. Everything was incredibly expensive : Soft pretzel was $16. Soda was $6. Popcorn was $15. The carpets, hallways, and bathrooms were dark and dingy! I really felt like I could have gotten mugged walking around the corner inside the theater. At the concession stand, they let preferred members go first, fine...That's understood... those guests paid to be preferred members and go regularly. But the staff served five consecutive preferred customers IN A ROW letting the walk-in customers standj ust there ending up late for the movie. We were not the only ones and there was a line of people really quite upset. Moral of the story, if you're not a preferred customer who likes dark dingy nasty places, do not go to this movie theater!

The last 3-4 movies I have seen here, I have had to leave and find management to inform them that the theater we were in was either not displaying the movie (sound only), or only playing sound with no movie projecting, or glitching with only displaying in green/pink colors. The last movie I saw, the mops and brooms were left out in the walkway of the theater creating a tripping hazard (OSHA would love this) and the trash cans were left overflowing and not taken out. The restrooms are disgusting. Unfortunately this is the only theater that I know of within a 45 minute driving distance from Dover, so I don’t have many options for myself and my family to watch movies. This theater has gone downhill drasticallly since it was bought out by AMC.

I am a Premiere Stubs member. The only reason I even considered this theater is because there are no other theaters nearby. This theater is extremely run down and everything is worn out. Come on AMC, I know you can do better than this. Open a new theater or remodel this one. I would not mind paying more for a modern, comfortable theater.

The theater was a mess everywhere. Once I got into the concession area the floors where sticky and wet. The employees spoke barely above a whisper. Bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. But the video was good and sound was great once I got past the atmosphere. I enjoyed my time there for the most part. Loved the stadium style seating.

Facility needs a total upgrade badly! Understandable that if you're the only game in town you can charge more, however for the money that we're paying I don't think it's too much asking for adequate bathrooms, clean carpeting and at least comfortable seating! It's horrendous to see the advertising of AMC showing a properly funded theater with leather reclining seats, fully equipped service stations and online seating options only to look inside of ours to see a dump! It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "classic". Come on AMC we deserve better!

Very few options as to snacks, let's not even talk about healthy snacks (nowhere to be seen). The rooms always have a particular smell and not in a good way. Last time it was wet dog scent, I guess that was the scent of the week. They should watch out for that because you spend no less than 2 hours in there. You dont want people getting allergies.

This theater has really gone downhill...mixed concession and ticket lines are long. Not enough staff and filthy concession area. I don't even want to set my cup down to fill or put lid on. I mentioned nicely to manager that people were complaining and all she could say is 4 people called out and we are trying to get people through line. Understand this but what about the same conditions for over a year now. Sorry AMC Dover I'm finding another theater until you clean up your act.

Theater experience was below average. Entrance was on the dark side. Line to get a ticket was very long unless you were a special member. I would think all the customer are special. This is my 2nd time going to movie since theater has been an AMC. I place is going down hill. Was is a joke is to have a sign we "value our customers ". The owners should try the experience the the average movie go has. Needs a face life but it needs to better service its customers first. The only game in with in 25 miles is was is saving this place.

Rarely have people working in ticket booth so if you don't want food you have to wait behind everyone that does to buy tickets and vice versa. If you buy tickets online you have to wait behind everyone buying tickets anyway to get food. The line is rediculolus compared to every other theater. I think they do this to force you to buy premier membership to skip line. That and they don't staff enough. I think I'll make the extra drive to Rehoboth from here on out. This is getting old fast. The theater itself is fine if they would get their act together.

Good movie but what a DUMP of a movie theater. Everything was incredibly expensive : Soft pretzel was $16. Soda was $6. Popcorn was $15. The carpets, hallways, and bathrooms were dark and dingy! I really felt like I could have gotten mugged walking around the corner inside the theater. At the concession stand, they let preferred members go first, fine...That's understood... those guests paid to be preferred members and go regularly. But the staff served five consecutive preferred customers IN A ROW letting the walk-in customers standj ust there ending up late for the movie. We were not the only ones and there was a line of people really quite upset. Moral of the story, if you're not a preferred customer who likes dark dingy nasty places, do not go to this movie theater!

The last 3-4 movies I have seen here, I have had to leave and find management to inform them that the theater we were in was either not displaying the movie (sound only), or only playing sound with no movie projecting, or glitching with only displaying in green/pink colors. The last movie I saw, the mops and brooms were left out in the walkway of the theater creating a tripping hazard (OSHA would love this) and the trash cans were left overflowing and not taken out. The restrooms are disgusting. Unfortunately this is the only theater that I know of within a 45 minute driving distance from Dover, so I don’t have many options for myself and my family to watch movies. This theater has gone downhill drasticallly since it was bought out by AMC.

The best thing I can say about this theater is that it plays movies. It's ticket counter is the concession stand slowing service to an absolute craw. It had no premium seating theaters, and looks like it's about 20 years past its heyday. The only reason I go here is because it's the only theater I've found south of the canal.

The best thing I can say about this AMC location is that it "gets the job done" so to speak. It has not been maintained well at all, from the snack bar to the bathrooms to the theaters themselves, the wear and tear shows. The staff is generally friendly and helpful and the food is ok. If you live locally and don't feel like traveling or are unable to travel elsewhere, it is the place for you. It occupies a very prime mall location so it would be great if it could get some updating eventually.

Went to go see Avengers Endgame movie was great but the theater was not. Spent almost $20 on stale popcorn which I didnt have until movie started about 45 minutes after I got it. Then I ordered a large soda and the ice maker was broken so i had no ice and the sode was warm coming out of the machine. Worst experience in a theater. The movie was awesome but did not enjoy my visit at all.

I live in Middletown where there is an up to day theatre with great seating, food and beverage. I was shopping at Dover Mall with my daughter and thought I would give this theatre a try. Well, I was so disappointed from the dirty bathrooms, to the poor management. We were to see a movie at 130 and were seated around 1:20 to a blank screen you could hear was playing ads - several people went out and were told when the movie started at 1:30 we would see it on the screen. At 1:35 I went out asked to speak to a manager and was told OH, let me put that movie on for you and then we were told 20 min later when no picture came on that the projector was broken. We did receive either a refund or vouchers and the possibility to see a diff movie for free. We saw a different movie, received our vouchers and I will say the only reason I would come back is because it would be free. Drive the 25 min to Middletown for a clean theatre, reclining seats.

Nothing has been done to improve this theater since it was carmike (I once had to wait outside of the theater because a part of the ceiling had fallen and they needed to section off that part before letting us back in), prices are crazy for what you're getting, and unless you want to pay to be in their premier club you should expect to wait another 10 or more minutes to get through concessions (the only place to print your tickets, because why open the ticket booths) on busy nights, regardless of having purchased tickets ahead of time. We will not be coming to this location again and will make the trip up to Middletown or down to Salisbury in the future.

Initial ads and all the trailers before the movie we're distorted. Told by staff that that's normal and that the movie will look right. Not sure I'd recommend this theatre to anybody.

Classic small theatre. It was independent and has been taken over by AMC. Updates to the theatre are still waiting. Selection of first runs is pretty good. The subscription method is filling my desire for film going as I can take in dubious titles and walk if it turns out not to my liking (hasn't happened yet.) Concessions are typical: popcorn, soda, candy, nachos, and hot dogs. Seats are comfortable with lift-up arms and drink holders. Acceptably clean.

My boyfriend was hesitant to go here because of the bad reviews but this theatre is absolutely fine. prices are actually really good in my opinion, especially for a movie theatre. It does not smell of urine? Staff was really nice, no problem there at all, even though we went late at night. The bathrooms aren't the best but I've definitely seen worse and who goes to a movie theatre for the bathrooms anyway? Keep in mind the only people who write reviews are people who are triggered so you'll see really good ones and really bad ones. I'm triggered here because there are too many bad ones. There is nothing wrong with this place to go see your movies.

The theater flooring was not maintained well at all, the women’s bathroom closets to the back theaters was absolutely DISGUSTING! I couldn’t find a stall that was clean let alone did not have anything in the toilets. I will try my absolute hardest to avoid ever coming to this theater again.

The management of the place is horrible. They only have 1 employee selling tickets and concession. THERE IS NO TICKET PERSON...EVER. AND NO ELECTRONIC TICKET SELLING STAND. WHAT A WORTHLESS THEATER!!! We got to the theater at 5:25 for a 5:30 show on a Wednesday and left at 5:45 without tickets because there were still 10 people in front of us. Its dingy and grimy inside...its just a useless theater. We will drive an extra 30 mins to another theater...what's the difference right since that's an average wait time to get your tickets!!! I'd rather spend 5x as much money at another theater chain than to give these guys my money.

This place needs an upgrade ASAP!! I didn’t smell urine like some other people, but the theater is terribly dated. I won’t review or mention food prices because let’s be honest movie food prices are ridiculous no matter where you go. I only go here if I want to see a movie that’s been out for a while and I’m not looking to be “wowed” by all the bells and whistles of a modern movie theater. If you just want to watch a movie and leave, this is the place. If you want a REALLY nice movie going experience don’t pick this place.

Truly the worst theatre I’ve ever been to. It is in desperate need of a renovation or demolition. The concessions are extremely expensive, even for movie theater pricing. The ceiling tiles are falling apart from water damage. The whole place smells of mold and urine. The bathrooms are disgusting and at times unusable. The staff are usually nice but that’s the only positive about this place. Do yourself a favor and go to any other theatre in the state. Cinemark and Penn upstate are worth the drive.

My family and I went to see avengers today and we arrived at the movie on time @ 2:35 at the AMC in Dover Delaware. The place was not busy at all. We sat through 25 min of previews and commercial after the advertised start time. The theater we sat in (10) looked like it had not been attended too but this is somewhat normal to this theater. After the movie I took my 4 year old son to use the rest room. The trash can was over flowing and the sink and floor where covered with urine and water. The toilet had stains all over the outside of it so we just left. It looked like it had not been attended too in a couple of days. Upon leaving the theater there was 2 young workers at the ticket collection booth arguing and pop corn scattered all up and down the hall ways. The popcorn was there before the movie as well as after. Very Dirty Place.

Don't go see a movie in Theater 14! You will freeze!!! It was miserable. Like an idiot I sat through a 2 1/2 hr movie so uncomfortable with freezing cold air blowing down on me. I drove an hour to see this movie. Myself and other movie watchers did complain about the conditions AFTER the movie and the manager pacified us with movie passes. Needless to say I won't be using it any time soon.

I really like this location. The overall experience was great! The employees are very friendly. The chairs are comfy and I really liked the recline feature. The food was really good for being movie theater fair. It could be a little more clean, but that didn't take away from the experience.

Theaters are outdated and the carpet smells musty like they haven't been cleaned in years. Other than that the service seems okay and the wait for concessions are not horrible.

This theatre leaves a lot to be desired both in atmosphere and customer service. In need of a renovation and w the prices they charge they can certainly afford it. The theatre has an old musty smell to it and what kind of theatre runs out of ice...seriously??? On a Saturday night? Ridiculous!

The management of the place is horrible. They only have 1 employee selling tickets and concession. THERE IS NO TICKET PERSON...EVER. AND NO ELECTRONIC TICKET SELLING STAND. WHAT A WORTHLESS THEATER!!! We got to the theater at 5:25 for a 5:30 show on a Wednesday and left at 5:45 without tickets because there were still 10 people in front of us. Its dingy and grimy inside...its just a useless theater. We will drive an extra 30 mins to another theater...what's the difference right since that's an average wait time to get your tickets!!! I'd rather spend 5x as much money at another theater chain than to give these guys my money.

Great bargain for 5.99. Beyond that, I'm not willing to pay. I can wait on the small screen for not so great films. Willing to pay more for blockbusters....like ET and Back to the Future. We don't have movies like those anymore

My family and I went to see avengers today and we arrived at the movie on time @ 2:35 at the AMC in Dover Delaware. The place was not busy at all. We sat through 25 min of previews and commercial after the advertised start time. The theater we sat in (10) looked like it had not been attended too but this is somewhat normal to this theater. After the movie I took my 4 year old son to use the rest room. The trash can was over flowing and the sink and floor where covered with urine and water. The toilet had stains all over the outside of it so we just left. It looked like it had not been attended too in a couple of days. Upon leaving the theater there was 2 young workers at the ticket collection booth arguing and pop corn scattered all up and down the hall ways. The popcorn was there before the movie as well as after. Very Dirty Place.

Ok place for a movie. Not keen on leaving rear doors on Sunday when Mall closes. They should rope off mall and leave rear door at food court open until all movie goers are out. Seems safer

Don't go see a movie in Theater 14! You will freeze!!! It was miserable. Like an idiot I sat through a 2 1/2 hr movie so uncomfortable with freezing cold air blowing down on me. I drove an hour to see this movie. Myself and other movie watchers did complain about the conditions AFTER the movie and the manager pacified us with movie passes. Needless to say I won't be using it any time soon.

I really like this location. The overall experience was great! The employees are very friendly. The chairs are comfy and I really liked the recline feature. The food was really good for being movie theater fair. It could be a little more clean, but that didn't take away from the experience.

Worst AMC I've ever been to. I felt like my basement projector screen was bigger than the one here. It was so bad we literally left and got a refund for the movie. Sad experience. AMC is a multi billion dollar company, it wouldn't take much to renovate the location. The staff are sweet and nice but I felt like I was back in the 80s... And in a bad way.

Absolutely disgusting. Wednesday night - not busy at all. Bathrooms covered in litter. The carpets are stained and the walls covered in I don't know what. The website showed a teen promo for $5 popcorn a and drink. The young guy at the counter wouldn't honor it? And to think I pay for a premier membership. Never again!
