Nice little cozy movie theater. It's a nice change from the gigantic ones most people are used to these days.

This theater is FREEZING COLD during the winter, they literally had the AC on! The snack bar has a very limited selection and you have to make your own coffee using a Keurig after you pay for it. Spoiler alert for all the hipsters: their coffee tastes pretty bad. There is not a lot of space, which means they can only show a couple movies at a time. Unfortunately, they never feature movies that are terribly popular. Instead, they tend to feature weird, boring movies, some of which I’ve never even heard of. The types of movies that are dry and pretentious, that only waspy old people like.

Paula Chavira

Deborah Jessup

Great movie theater, great art studio. No whipped cream for hot chocolate.

Wow! I never thought I’d post a negative review re the Millerton Movie House. We’ve been fond patrons for many years. But after our experience last night I feel the need to share. After purchasing 5 tickets for a showing in the “upstairs” theatre, we were disappointed to discover that they are now calling the former lounge room a “theatre”. The room is outfitted with uncomfortable chairs and dusty couches. There is no pitch to the floor so viewing the screen can be difficult. Although a few notches above Sing-Sing’s movie night, it just didn’t seem right after paying the hefty cost of a today’s movie tickets. But what was really upsetting was when I approached the owner to ask if customers could be made aware of the less than pleasant venue in advance. Much to my disappointment, he became defensive and arrogantly said I could leave if we didn’t like it. He claimed it was clearly noted on the website - but it’s not. He likely didn’t know me and that I donated lots of dollars for his elevator fundraiser. But that’s ok, now I’ll feel just fine not helping him with any future improvement endeavors.

Cute and charming space but ultimately lack luster as a movie venue.

What a wonderful little movie theater! I'm so glad I found it. I came for a film that wasn't showing anywhere else in my area, which ended up being shown in the "screening room," a very small theater with couches. It was a great experience, and my ticket was only $5. My new favorite place to see movies.

This is a great small theater. I would arrive a bit early because the concessions stand is small so it can get backed up. The screens are smaller than your average megaplex but they have quality picture and good sound (if a bit in the quiet side).

This movie theater is amazing. The butter on the popcorn is a little weird but other than that I love it. Although the theater is small, they still manage to show popular movies and the snacks are your standard movie snacks. All the people are friendly and there is always something I want to see at a good time. I love the moviehouse!

A different feel to the Moviehouse compared to other the cinemas in Dutchess County. Certainly not the typical movie theatre.

Nina Goodall

This is a great movie house with the best and most current mainstream films as well the Indy films and special events you usually have to go to the city to see. It's a gem. And the popcorn is always great, too.

Daniel Donnelly

Personally I like this movie theatre very much. It has a homely, familial feel to it. Membership to this movie theatre also grants discounts at many participating local businesses, which advertise on the theatre's screens. Blockbuster movies are shown, as well as classics on occasion. Also artsy films, from time to time. Many reviews complain about the lack of an elevator. Yes, the theatre is working on an elevator's installation, so it knows about this issue and is trying to remedy it.

Small theaters but terrific selection of movies. Smaller independent films and big budget mainstream movies.

Krista D

Cute place but I noticed it's not really handicap accessible in many ways. Overall...staff was very nice, snacks very overpriced, seats are very uncomfortable movie quality and sound were average. Despite this, it is in a good location and we had a nice time because the movie was excellent.

Such a cool movie house. Really fun to walk around the building before or after you see a movie. Expensive food and drink(like any other movie theater)

Great little Theatre!

I am really not sure what to think.....The theater that I was in was like a person's living room. The seats were not very comfortable, but it was very quiet and cozy! So you take the good and bad!

Anyone who's ever gone here, even once, will tell you they love it. Besides first run movies, this old fashioned, charming theater streams fabulous stage performances from London. The snacks are also awesome. Like their marketing slogan says, "It's about community".

I personally prefer to drive farther to Red Hook then go to this theater. It is so outdated and needs major updating. There is no elevator for the upstairs theater. Very small selection for snacks before the movie. And the prices are way too high for the experience. Gross old seats and barely any pitch to the floor making viewing not so great either. Much better quality and lower prices in Red Hook.

I've been there quite a bit over the years. It's a nice place and for the most part they usually get the bigger movies throughout the year. I have a few reasons why I'm giving three stars, 1 the size of the place isn't really the problem as much as how it's set up. As you walk in the concession stand is like right there so your literally walking into a line as you come in. I feel that if they moved the stand with a bit of minor construction it would be much better. 2 the seats are very small. It's a small theater in a small town but as a bigger person it doesn't make for a comfortable sit for a two plus hour movie. 3 the bathrooms downstairs are right near the concession stand and the enterence so it comes back to the issue of the layout not being very well planned. Also there kind of expensive. As I said small place in a small town but still. I'd say it's worth it but you should definitely be ready to spend some money.

What the world needs more of are the classic, small town theaters like this. Ahhh, how pleasant to see friends and neighbors and enjoy a great movie closer to home. I have to say, though. $3.50 for a small bag of popcorn? Ouch!

I've always been rather fond of this little theater. One of the few remaining in the country that isn't ruined by the 'megaplex' corporate monsters. The staff is always friendly and the ambiance is intimate. I would definitely recommend this place.
