You have the information of real people like you who purchase the services of The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk (Movie Theater) in the area close to the state of Connecticut.
At the present this firm receives a rating of 4.5 stars over 5 and this rating was based on 3366 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is basically the best one, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may think that the evaluation is very faithful. If people have bothered to leave their feddback when they are happy, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to place reviews when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Movie Theater corresponds to the category of Aquarium.
Was a great place to go out 4 year loves it....the up stairs play space was a great hidden spot.
Loved this place since I was a little kid... So much fun being able to now take my daughter and see the wonder in her eyes that I remember experiencing as a child... IMAX theatre is something you CANT MISS
Nice aquarium, love the seals. Can be a bit confusing to get around
Its a lovely aquarium...my 2 and 3 yr old had a great time.
Good Aquarium but Mystic is better. For the cost I expected it to be on par or better. Lots of touch tanks were lots of fun for the kids. Not many big exhibits. The shark tank was really nice.
Excellent experience. We spent about 3 hours with our 6 month old here not taking our time but not rushing. You could spend more or less. The price was reasonable and their animal exhibits were fantastic. There were staff everywhere and all were friendly and helpful. More than an aquarium, there were exhibits about land animals, different habitats and seasons. We will definitely be back and are considering a family membership. We drove about an hour and a half with some traffic. Worth it.
Diving with the sharks is a great show. That was by far the most captivating attraction. The staff patiently answered questions. My kids enjoyed the hands on exhibits like the jellyfish pool that's safe to touch. The seal feeding was also very nice. I liked how the museum continues in a circle through the second floor and back. It's a nice, manageable layout for taking young kids.
This aquarium is very nice. Lots of useful information. Touching stingrays and sharks was cool. Plenty of activities to do. Very family oriented place. My son had the chance to meet the Director of the establishment, she greeted him with a major smile and very friendly attitude.
Nice place to take your kids for the day.
Awesome interactive aquarium with hands-on areas with rays and jellyfish. Not crowded at all on weekends, easy parking nearby.
Great place for the little ones!! No matter how many times we visit, the grandbabies love going!
Nice Aquarium. Not quite as big as Camden or Mystic but big enough for my 3, 4, and 9 year old grandchildren. For us it was only 1 1/2 hour drive. The kids got to pet sting rays and jelly fish. They were a little disappointed there were no sharks to pet. When we found the shark tank they were wowed by their size. We all enjoyed the IMAX movie. All in all a good day!
Visited on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Not overly big so if you wanting to spend a whole day somewhere this place might be little all but will definitely provide enough entertainment for a afternoon or morning. You can see different sea and water animals from the exotic to common. Some other amphibians are also present. Place is also showing the history of different maritime history of of Norwalk and surrounding areas
Very cute place. Best for young ones though. I brought two teens and we were thru it in 45 mins. IMAX movie was cool. My favorite has always been the jellyfish tank. Amazing and beautiful. Sharks also rock!
I feel is very small but very interactive for the kids.
Love this place! Great fun and very interactive for kids and adults.
Great destination for families with children. Besides the relatively small Aquarium, there is an IMAX theater with a huge screen. Classes also available for kids' arts and crafts and school groups. 10 min from I-95 exit 15. You can also walk to "SONO", South Norwalk, full of restaurants and shops. A new upscale mall is near complete as of 2019 which is also walking distance.
Nice family oriented aquarium. I did the behind the scenes shark tour, got to feed the sharks, not by hand
Great local attraction. Can also become members at a low yearly rate and visit unlimited times. Perfect place to spend the afternoon with your kids. Staff is super friendly. The IMAX is a big hit with the kids
Don’t lose your parking tickets I spent 75$ to go see some fish , they charge you 25bucks if u lose your parking ticket gave me a break the I should’ve paid 2$ for 1hr stay like they normally charge unbelievable won’t be coming here again staff was rude I want a refund please management thanks
Amazing $35 a ticket for adults but well worth it .. you get to touch jelly fish and sting Ray's ..
Come here all the time with my boys. They absolutely love it. Very kid friendly environment.
My family loves coming here. They used to have more activities for kids like boat building. And we miss the kamoto dragons. We hope they bring these things back
This is a small but nice aquarium. It's just too expensive for how small it is. Only go once every few years for that reason.
My kids and I had a great time, come with your entire family because it will be worth it. Also with every ticket to the aquarium you get a ticket for and IMAX movie.
Such a great aquarium. Since I was a kid loved this place. Came back 30 years later and it's only improved since.
Beautiful, clean, large aquarium only an hour from the city! Pet sting rays, jelly fish, and see seals, sharks and so much more!
Children like it a lot.A good variety of attractions and activities .
Wonderful Aquarium. The exhibits are great. Everyone -young and old-love the various touch pools. 1st class care of creatures! The staff are helpful and friendly
A beautiful, thoughtful and well designed space. Very accessible and engaging. Will go back.
Been going here for years. We buy a yearly pass every year. After 1-2 visits, you already earned your money back. Even my teenager still loves going.
Just disappointed we missed two boat rides. One due fog the other mechanical. Other than that nice aquarium.
It's a bit pricy for what they show. There's a surprising amount of non-aquatic animals. The best part is the part where you design your own shark and touching the animals
Very nice little aquarium. Though small it has a lot of character and charm. We really loved watching the Harbor Seals in the main atrium. Our 2 year old daughter probably could have Sat there all day watching the seals and telling us about how they were swimming and playing. It was also nice that they include one of their educational IMAX films with the admission. We saw Oceans which was a delight for our little one who adores all things fish and sea life. Definitely a fun day trip.
This place was a lot of fun. Brought my kid here and we both had a great time. The jellyfish section was awesome. Great place to spend the day
it's was a great time with the family. family friendly place.
This is really geared toward families. The included IMAX film was very impressive! I loved the touch tanks and the seal feeding. A little pricey but least everything is included.
Great place to have kids learn & play. Hands on & interactive exhibits for the stingrays and jellyfish. Just get there early. IMAX is a great add on & when the weather is good mini outdoor play place is fun or opt for the in door toddler space. I definitely recommend the aquarium.
Outstanding place to bring your kid/kids or SO if you’re looking for a relaxing fun place to see some amazing sea creatures. This is a top notch facility
Always a great place top take the kids. Been going with all my sisters kids for decades.
Always a great time. We loved seeing the gorgeous owl.
We had a great time! Got to see the seels being fed aswell as some tricks they've learned. We also hot to pet some stingrays and jellyfish. They even have giant turtle! Day well spent.
Awesome place to visit with children as it is hands-on and kids friendly
Not too crowded when we arrived in the middle of the day and a lot of fun for the kids because it's interactive.
A very nice place ; many sea life creatures and more ....
Brought my 4 mo daughter and 6 yo niece and had a fun time. Loved touching the jellyfish and stingrays. Great aquarium that's not too big or crowded.
Small but good, we were done seeing everything in 3 hrs. Parking is by the hour in garage and I didn't like how the cafe was at the entrance before you enter zoo, makes it hard for hungry kiddos as outside food is discouraged.
I went on a class trip with my son here on 3/15/19. It was great... the staff were friendly and helpful. I would like to make a shout out to the two staff members at the consession stand where I purchased popcorn for the movie. It was around 12:00pm. The two staff members were very accommodating, went above and beyond to provide assistance with dividing the bags of popcorn I purchased into 30 share bags to ensure no child in the class was left out. They took their time with me and all the children were happy. It was a positive experience... I will definitely visit again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Overall not bad. Decent amount of exhibits and various aquatic animals. However for the high price of admission per person, they should have a little bit more things to see. Decent exhibits we're just the seals and the sharks.
Was here for a banquet. Tons of little aquatic critters to look at. Only complaint is the lack of informational signs posted around or on the tanks. Would have been nice to learn about some of these sea creatures.
My wife and I had a fantastic time. I recomend it...bring the entire family.
An ok aquarium... Can use some more.
Had a great time with my wife and brother in law. Some fun bars within walking distance as well.
Just a wonderful place to go with the family, notice a lot of couples on dates there too. Lots of animals to see and great saff that will take the time and explain to the kiddos about the different exhibits. Can't wait to see what the place will look like once the finish there changes.
My niece and I had a perfect day at the aquarium. We loved every exhibit and the imax movie.
Excellent ...we had a blast. All hands on. My granddaughter loved petting the stingrays.
My children loved this place !!!! The staff were great ! Lots of marine and land animals to see and touch which was the best thing ! You can touch stingrays and jelly fish . We watched an Imax movie that was awesome as well. Good way to spend the afternoon!
My wife and I took our 6 year old son for his birthday and had a terrific time. I went as a child my self and have always had a wonderful time. Plenty of things for the kids too and do. They have a pool for the kids to touch the fish and they absolutely loved it. I would recommend to anyone that's looking for an enjoyable day trip to check it out.
A wonderful place for family activities especially for kids. Lots to see
Nice Aquarium. Good price. Clean, friendly staff, and even a play area for the littlest visitors. The outside gardens are beautiful with a nice view. Worth the trip!
Beautiful aquarium. Is on the smaller scale so definitely doable in one day. Try to go early or later in the day for smaller crowds. Don't miss the newest exhibit which features cool animals like a porcupine and a skunk! We particularly love the jellyfish tank, the seals, and the otters. And don't miss the shark tank! You can catch an IMAX movie for an extra fee or even enjoy an educational boat ride. Great day out for the whole family!
Great place to spend the day with the family and friends.
The place is a little pricey but it's very entertaining. It is clean and the workers were all very helpful and knew there stuff. The large tanks are beautiful.
Very nice aquarium with a good variety of animals. It is on the smaller side, but has plenty of things to do! The imax movie was fun and the whole experience is fun for both children and adults! The seal feeding was a major highlight! The cafe closes a little early in my opinion at around 4pm I believe.
Perfect place for families with kids. Lots of hands on opportunities. Gift shop and nice food court.
Easy to navigate, not too overwhelming, kids loved it!
Great for kids! Get the yearly pass it pays for itself
Awesome exhibits!! Very child friendly, highly recommend.
I remember my stay here a long time ago for a field trip. It was great. Truly an unforgettable experience
We had a great time at this aquarium. It was geared toward our kiddos, ages 2 & 4. There were a lot of hands on, touching and feeling of various marine animals. We would definitely come back and recommend.
We are members at the aquarium and have been for a few years. It's always a great place to come with the kids. They have been consistently renovating and adding new exhibits. This is a great place to come on the weekends!
You can not go wrong with this place. Courteous and educated staff, very clean, tons of marine life, and good food. Bring the kids and enjoy.
The aquarium was a little underwhelming. We had expected to see a bit more for the price. The staff seemed bored and like they didn't want to be there. I will say that the sea lion feeding and the sting ray touch tank were very fun. I'm curious to see what Mystic has to offer.
Great Aquarium. Fairly larger than what appears when you approach the main entrance. Full of exhibits. Friendly staff/volunteers who have a wealth of aquatic information. Added bonus of watching an iMax movie gives added value to your ticket.
Kids had such a great time. Great day trip
Go place to go learn about Marine life and the many species of fishes.
Very nice for a family trip. Sea turtles are pretty co and you can touch a shark and a jelly fish.
It is really nice place to visit, especially jellies and sharks, and cinema
There is so much to see, and the staff are courteous and helpful.
Took our almost 2 year old daughter here and she loved it. Perfect place to bring your children. Very clean looking
Nice place for kids to learn and enjoy themselves but too expensive for what they offer. Should definitely have a lot more for that price
Super underwhelming. This place is so small and expensive for the lackluster experience. It cost us $50 + parking (2 adults and a 8mo) to stay for a little over 1hr. Mystic Aquarium while slightly more, (roughly $70 for 2 adults + parking) takes around a 1/2 day to wonder around. Also the limited exhibits that Maritime does have seem less than natural - more forced than anything (e.g. mirrored cases to magnify the turtles). Suffice it to say, if you want a good aquarium experience in CT I would suggest heading to Mystic.
A must see in Norwalk good for kids and adults. I’ve been going for years and it never gets old.
The Marine Time Aquarium in Norwalk CT is just amazing. Seeing life in different shapes and sizes is just mind blogging especially in Aquatic life. One can just spend the whole day there without an ounce of boredom. If you are ever in the area please check it out. Saw a movie in the gigantic IMAX theater. Breathe taking.
The aquarium is a Connecticut treasure. Fully handicap accessible make this a delight. Any age can enjoy the most unique setting and exhibits. It may seem pricy however think of how much it takes to feed all the fish daily. Check your local library for a discounted pass. A must go!
Sea life cruise was amazing. There was a jellyfish enclosure that needed a person watching it to tell little kids not to touch which I thought was stupid to have it like it was if people couldn't touch.
Large enough for variety and small enough for personal options. Just the right size for our 4 year old grandson.
I brought my 2 littles yesterday (2 hour drive from where we live). I personally think the pricing is a bit high, BUT aside from that we loved this aquarium! We also parked in the wrong parking, where the IMAX entrance is instead of the main entrance. We have never been so I saw the parking and just figured that's where I needed to go. Woops! Our favorites were the sharks and the huge turtles! We also bought 2 stuffed animals for the kiddos. Overall we had a fantastic day and my 3 year old had so much fun!
Nice place to stop and see marine life for all
A nice change from Mystic. Lots of exhibits and things to see.
My kids had a blast there it was small but pack with lots of fun.
There's so much more than just fish
This review is by my eight-year-old son. They help all of the animals and take good care of them. It's clean and he loves the IMAX movie theater. It really is fun for adults and children.
It's a fun little aquarium. It is a bit expensive but the exhibits are informative and engaging. Ive been twice so far this year and it's is a great Sunday activity with the family.
Awesome variety of sealife and activities for the kids. Would strongly recommend getting a pass if you plan on coming back more then three times per year.
AWESOME place. Nice variety of sea and land animals. Cuteness overload, a learning experience, nice layout, decent prices. Good place to take the family, we all enjoyed it and we'll be going back sometime soon
Great fun, lots of kids running around with popcorn!
Love it! I went as a kid and now I bring my own child!
I haven't been to the aquarium in a while, but I was just at the attached IMAX theater and it's still in pretty good shape (though there was one small distortion to part of the screen).
This was so worth it fun to walk around and watch the animals being fed. They take care of them well and have educated staff . Parking in city garage is best .
Lots to learn about our local sea life. All the animals appeared healthy and happy in appealing habitats. The sharks are impressive! Also, you are allowed to safely touch and interact with stingrays!!
An awesome place for kids to learn about Marine life : bonus tip: one movie ticket in included in your aquarium ticket so do watch it,
It is a good and nice and clean.. I took my son and he had fun
Second time I have visited this aquarium. This time it was on a camp trip with my student. Large aquarium with jellyfishes, sharks, stingrays, meerkats, turtles and other animals. Great aquarium for children to learn about water mammals, imax theather that shows several movies, gift shop ( though expensive) as well as a cafteria to eat. As well as friendly staff memebers that help you.
Great. If they would refill the sandbox it would be perfect
If you want to watch intelligent animals like seals cooped up in a tiny pool or otters and meerkats with no access to natural light you’ll love it. However if you like animals it’s just a depressing exhibition of cruelty masquerading as conservation.
The aquarium itself was excellent, good layout and a wide selection of different animals and species. The part I did not like was that the power went out before we were able to watch the IMAX movie that came with the admission cost and they were only able to stamp it to allow us to come back another time within a year. We live 2.5 hours away from here so doubtful we will be back. Should allow for a partial refund.
My daughter's birthday was celebrated by visiting the Maritime. Lovely experience
First time going! Very clean and welcoming! I went on a work trip and had a good time. Everyone was very engaged and loved seeing the sharks and seals. I’m planning on bringing my son and cousins next week.
I love it it was my first time and i loved it was amazing :)
This place was great! However, there was construction going on and frankly it's a little pricey. They should offer more discounts like on Groupon or something. We went on a Sunday and it was totally dead, probably because we paid $100 for 2 adults and 2 kids, and drove an hour to go there. Some of the staff were very nice and some were kinda eh where they really didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Overall a good one time experience with the kids, but probably wouldn't go again unless they had a discount or something.
Great place for kids and grown ups ... I bought the packaged from metro North which gives you a to the IMAX in the aquarium.
Fun place to take the kids n a qauint town around it
Great experience for the whole family! We took our 1 y/o to the aquarium and it was a blast for her. The staff were incredible and very friendly to her on her birthday. As to other aspects; The restrooms were clean, and the gift shop prices were not too insane. All the conservation work they do made a purchase worth it. Would highly recommend coming here!
One of the biggest parts of my childhood. They are constantly updating and making sure it is not the same. It us easy to get lost for hours as you look around at the different exibits and animals. The Octopus is my favorite. Highly recommend.
It is an entertainment place, especially for kids. Fabulaous collection of marine life. And the IMAX movies are great information. Should watch.
A must see for families with children. This is a "world class" attraction. It is by far the best major aquarium we have visited. Extraordinary presentation in very large salt-water tanks as well as smaller exhibits with specialized fish, sea turtles, sea horses etc. You can even have children pet a large shallow tank of manta's. And the giant interactive digital aquarium is great. My kids loved painting their own turtles, sharks and squids and then sending them out to swim with the other kids creations. The restaurant was also very good. Very reasonable price for the experience
Took my wife and son here and we all really loved it! As an aquarium goes it's about as good as it gets, really worth a visit if you are anywhere in the area! Neat jellyfish & shark tanks on multiple levels with handicap accessibility, tons of clean restrooms and even a food court on site (although I can't rate the quality of the food as I didn't eat while there). If you have kids or just animal exhibits you will definitely want to check this place out!
Thanks love this aquarium. I've been going since I was a kid. I can't believe how much it's changed. The seal room looks so much bigger without the boats.
Its on the smaller end of the Aquarium spectrum, but it packs a lot of facinating creatures and knowledge. Gift shop, like any aquarium, is a bit pricey, but not the worst I've ever seen. Staff is engaging but not too much, they really let you enjoy the animals and provide information as needed.
Great place to bring kids to learn about the sea and have fun seeing all the animals. Cafe is pretty terrible, though. I recommend eating elsewhere before going inside.
Great place. Perfect size, not too big not too small. Always clean and immaculate. Staff is great.
The movie theater in here has really good movies, keeps you entertained all the time while learning about wild life.
Nice variety of animals. The jellyfish exhibit was quite detailed and interesting. The staff member in that area was very knowledgeable.
Sooo much to see. Different fish, jellyfish, can touch stingrays & starfish, giant tank with sharks, watch the seals being fed, hands on exhibits for kids, outside exhibits, big screen imax always has an interesting film or two. Snacks available for movie. Has cafeteria for lunch or snacks. Great gift shop, wide rangebof prices. Note: Bathrooms after you give tickets to enter and also by movie theater.
Nice aquarium but can get crowded fast. Go on weekdays since there are less people. Weekends are havoc cause everyone comes like and you can't walk 2 steps without bumping into someone. The seal show is good and the place is clean. See the sharks and wave to the otters.
Tbh this was am experience I wouldn't go again. Way too expensive for the amount of stuff they have there. I feel like there should be more for the kids to see.
We love the Maritime Aquarium! It costs about $100 for our family for a day, but it is worth saving up for and going. A family membership is worth it if you are certain you will go three or more times in a year. Since we live more than an hour away, we do not do the family membership.
Really enjoyed the shark dissection our group did. The IMAX theater needs more organization. No formal line people cutting I front to get in. The screen is old and there was a crease or blemish down the middle of it
Great aquarium for the kids! We had a fun time here on a rainy day.
My 21 month old grandson had a wonderful time... Love seeing him so excited!
The kids loved it. Just big enough for them to walk around [2 and 3 years old] all day. They loved the touch tank. Really great time!
If you live in the area and have kids, you have to get the annual membership. This place is awesome. The indoor space is large and open so the kids can run free (within reason). Interactive screens and games. Shark and stingray touch tanks. Tip: if you buy the annual membership, movie tickets are free - normally $15 a piece.
Not cheap plus parking. Went on a week day and it was noisy and full of camp kids. Some exhibits were missing while others seemed well warn. Probably fun for children but adults not so much.
Pros - Jelly fish preserve, seals show Cons - Pricy tickets, no underwater acrylic tunnels, untidy cafe restroom with limited food options, no age wise divided play area, aquarium+imax movies not related
Visually it's slightly dated but my kids enjoyed themselves. With membership, they have excellent bonuses for the entire family.
Great time visiting at Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk. Lots of different varieties of fish and sea creatures. Seal feeding is fun to watch always. Jelly fish corner is very relaxing. Gift shop and cafe are right near the entrance. The best part is watching IMAX theater show after a long walk. Definitely recommend this place. Good price and great experience!!!
I am a native New York transplant to the CT area. I had pretty low expectations of what this aquarium was going to be because of my experiences at the New York Aquarium (especially because of how small it looks from the outside). Holy cow was I wrong! My kids love this place. They are home to a very robust variety of sea friends. There is signage everywhere that educates visitors on appropriate behavior and respect in order to keep stress levels low. The layout of the aquarium is well designed and keeps interest peaked (especially with children). I would imagine this would be the place for moms who have given up all hope and just let their kids run all over the place, but that is not the case here lol. It is an attention grabbing fun calm experience for both kids and adults alike.
Really enjoyed this aquarium. Went early in the season so their boat was not an option at this time. Seal display seemed small but most other exhibits appropriately sized. IMAX was pretty outstanding.
Loved it, had a great time. They have a good quantity of sea creatures for such a relatively small location. Its a fun time
It was a pretty good aquarium with a variety of animals, from sharks to crabs. There are also some land animals like meerkats. I loved watching them feed seals. The aquarium also has a few movies to see relating to animals. The directions can be confusing which is why I gave a 4 star.
One of the best places to visit aquatic creatures and a wonderful experience!!!
I'm torn on whether I feel comfortable recommending this aquarium to friends and family. On one hand, it's a very clean place with friendly staff, well-kept animals, and a good location. On the other hand, the conservationism is too heavy-handed for my liking. I understand that keeping our oceans, lakes and waterways clean and safe is important. I do. But I also don't want to be force-fed statistics on how we're destroying the environment. I'd rather consume that information at my own pace, but I'm unable to do that here.
I took my pre school students, we had a wonderful time. The movie about rescue dogs was great!!! Not sure why they would show a film about dogs at an aquarium is curious but it was still great. Although if you are indeed on a school trip and your time is limited you may want to skip the movie it's a bit long and we found our selves rushing through the other exhibits. But overall we had a great time and learned many things. I strongly suggest it as a school and/or family outing.
Love it. Had a great time with the family. Great mini shows and great exhibits. Some of it were under construction. Looking forward to see what they come up with. Pricing isn't bad at all.
Very good place good displays great for kids very spread out which is nice not cheap though
What a great fun day for the whole family. Fair price with such awesome experience
A little pricey, but good source if exhibits.
