Awesome art deco venue
Everyone go on Amazon and buy there's a dog on my head by Patricia it is the best book ever and the garde is a great place
The NUTCRACKER ballet was fun.
Fabulous venue to see a movie.
Los Lobos great show ,great sound. Very nice old school theater. Saw movies there when I was a kid. No bad seats.
Wonderful regional performance space. We saw an Indigo Girls concert and musuc seems to be the main fare lately though we have seen Broadway musical touring troupes as well.
Great venue for music, theatre, and movies. Beautiful theatre that serves beer and wine while you enjoy a well picked piece of entertainment.
I WENT THERE FOR THE HAPPY TOGETHER SHOW. IT WAS AWESOME
Gorgeous theater. You can really see the history of the building. But they have made it just as modern as any other without losing that historical charm. I love that they support their community, as I was there to see an elementary school play take place in the grand setting.
No bad seats in the house! Staff was excellent helping us find out seats and the restroom. It is a very intimate setting where you see the acts up close and personal.
This is the most wonderful theater in Connecticut. Check for events and movies. Very comfortable not like the newer theaters with limited leg room.
Great old venue for seeing a show or concert
We loved watching Bohemian Rhapsody. Love the place. Terrible parking though.
A great venue to see live events. The theater is just the right size to provide an intimate entertainment experience.
A great historic theater with modern movie tech!
Great show tonight with Tape Face. The staff was very warm and extremely comfortable seats. Looking forward to going back again!
Always a great experience here. Full of beautiful history.
It was a grate experience
Great venue, great accoustics
Took the family to see Brian Regan. Great show and fun experience. First time at the Garde.. will definitely go back.
Great venue for small intimate performances.
Beautiful venue. Great options.
Came to see Mozart's Magic Flute, Dec 2017. Wonderful performance & great seats up in the second row loge. Such a gem for the city of New London.
Beautiful venue, comfortable seats, very clean. Not a bad seat in the house
Comfortable seats for the BAMF film festival but a little pricey. Much more affordable when it was held at Conn College
Lovely venue, nice people. Very organized and great music. Every seat has a goo view and the sound is awesome! Not too loud :)
Updated and gorgeous! Acoustics were great every seat in the house is good period. New London is lucky to have such a place.
Attended a Jodi Picoult book talk which was packed, and professionally managed in a well restored theater
New London youth talent at it's best
It's a beautiful theater. The performance of Spamalot was hilarious
An incredibly gorgeous & grand place! Wonderful people working there too!
Great shows and workers, comfortable seats, and good prices make this theater perfect!
What here for a government mule concert and had a great experience I could not find one thing to complain about awesome venue
Wonderful place! Good vibrations, great welcoming faces, good food and amazing play, The Magic Flute. Grateful for the clean space and beautiful faces.
Great show tonight! Tape Face is so funny I never stopped laughing. Great staff make everything run very smoothly. Thank you Sharon Hathaway and crew!
Banff Film festival in this nice old theater. Good experience.
I saw the Mavericks at the Garden Art Center, and it was the perfect location. It's a fairly intimate space, where every seat is a good seat. It was laid out well, with we'll designed imenities.
Exellent place to see a show.Everyone very curtious to patrons.
Pete the Cat was adorable and I love the symphony.
Beautifully restored theater. Great acoustics. I love the film series.
Beautiful old theatre...creates an intimate setting for shows like Lyndsey Buckingham, The Mavericks, Lyle Lovett, The Nutcracker (performed one weekend every year for the holidays).
Great show from y 60's.
Great spot. Not a bad seat in the house.
Good views all seats pricing ok. Sound is excellent (with right engineer)
We go several times a year. From STOMP to Robert Cray, well run facility and hard-working staff
Cozy theater in the heart of New London. Exotic interior based on Morrocian design that was chosen 90 years ago. Nice small venue for live acts and movies. I would definitely go again.
Great venue for a concert
Beautiful, amazing, accommodating. I can't wait to visit again!
Beutiful old theatre lovingly restored. Handicap access. Great old movies, short film festival, music performances, dance and more.
...one word..WARREN! please don't share this review..the Garde has got to be kept a secret! Shhhh... not a bad seat and plenty of drinks!
Graduation
Every seat is advantageous to superb acoustics and visual acuity! Most enjoyable venue. Friendly Usher Assist. Pricing is very competitive. Enjoy dinner in one of the best Restaurants in New London, then a drink at the Garde prior to your event. Parking in the fully illuminated Court House parking area with center stair access. Easily accessible with safe crossing. Return to a stress free entertainment experience. Take your train into New London, walk 3 blocks straight to the top of the hill due west. You will find the theatre on the right. Enjoy!!
I love the Garde!
I love that they offer movies too! Best experience, very clean, and very friendly
Great Place to see a show .Really not a bad seat anywhere
Very interesting evening with Chris Herron. Would have been 5 stars if the woman at the door wasn't soo rude. Won't be going to an event there if I have to deal with such an attitude!!!
Beautiful place to watch a show. Parking is a challenge. I finally found a spot on Huntington St. There is also a paid lot for $10. There are many stairs in the theater - none outside which is good. If you have trouble climbing stairs get a seat on the first floor.
Keep up the good work.
Awesome family show. It reminded me THE GREATEST SHOWMAN the Musical. It wasn't a musical but more like a Magic show and a Circus. Family fun.
The Garde is a Marvel. It is beautiful, and so much fun to visit. They're nutcracker presentation this year was excellent, with inventive stage settings and magnificent dance dancing, with great storytelling. There's convenient garage parking nearby, and good staff to help you once you are in.
FABULOUS entertainment AVAILABLE!
Great showsgreat acoustics and lighting
The most beautifully restored theatre. Intimate with amazing acoustics. Great venue.
Great smallish venue. Not a bad seat in the house.
Great venue. Movies are fun at the Garde. Wine and beer available during the show. Old fashioned grand theater. The Garde is a true Connecticut treasure.
Very well taken care of. Beautiful interior and quaint feeling overall.
Beautiful theater. Nice to see the character in it.
The Garde Arts Center is a fantastic theater to see a variety of shows. I've seen movies, comedy acts, and most recently "Spamalot" which came for one night. Excellent staff and an amazing Morrocan them make the Garde a must go destination when in New London. Very close to restaurants and bars for before and after.
Saw the first of the Garde Winter Cinema series movies. The Big Sick was great and I'm looking forward to seeing many more academy award nominees. It's a great film series in a great old theater with modern digital equipment.
Love this place. The staff is amazing
Nice theater.
Saw Lewis Black and it was hilarious
Beautiful inside no bad seats.
Allways a blast!
A classic old theater, once a movie theater that has been artfully refurbished. Features a variety of live shows and movies. Good dining options nearby. Parking can be a problem, but they have instituted a shuttle. Check their website.
The Mavericks put on an extraordinary Christmas concert last night. Their first act was all wonderful Christmas music and they got down and dirty with their second act of hit after hit after hit people wear GFS in receipts and having a blast period definitely on for next year.
The performance was fantastic. He had a great view from our seats that we're as far orchestra left as you can go. I did have trouble locating the bathroom.
Great venue for entertainment!
Small but cozy theater, holds 1400 people. Beautiful interior with balcony section. We were seated in the back of the orchestra section and had perfect viewing. The only discomfort was that the seating is tight. With bulky winter coats we felt a bit squeezed in and not a lot of legroom for someone who may have long legs. The staff was very welcoming, helpful and upbeat. We had a wonderful time in a beautifully restored theater.
Beautifully restored!
Beautifully restired theatre. Great accostics. Volunteers are rightfully proud of this gem.
The theater is quite beautiful and there doesn't really seem to be a bad seat in the house. The only downside was that it was very, very warm during the performance that we saw.
Great theater!
Fantastic entertainment center in the heart of New London, Connecticut. Great shows, great facility, excellent director and staff, caring volunteers, and good handle on what the public enjoys. Variety in offerings allows for maximum community participation. All in all a "gem" of a theater.
It's definitely in need of a refresh, but it's a beautiful theater with great concert sound and a great location.
Saw Brian Regan here a few weeks ago. It was comfortable, easy to get in and out of. No complaints!
Amazing experience. Wonderful orchestra. Conductor was spectacular.
Great shows
Excellent experience! Great intimate atmosphere!
Small and comfortable. Great seating. Excellent acoustics and decore. Easy to find. Free parking and lots of restaurants and libations in immediate area. An excellent venue.
Classic beautiful place step into the past but enjoy all the comforts of today. Great balance
Great .. volunteers and staff awesome. Melissa was terrific.
always a good time at a event...
Experienced The Machine-Pink Floyd tribute band at the Garde arts center.
Beautifully restored theater. Lovely venue for a play, musical or film.
Nice theater but seats are a bit cramped if you're tall.
Helped set up a show here and it was a great experience
Exciting performance. Brought back great memories. Russell's voice hit the high points perfectly leaving us wanting more. Graham's gift of poetry inspired the whole theater. Definitely a memerable performance at the Garde.
A beautiful venue, helpful staff, overall a great experience.
Pretty cool place, great tunes no cover .Drinks a little pricey, to be expected with the great talent you didn't pay for at the door.Worth a stop.
This is the place to go if you want amazing entertainment and one of the most awesome buildings in New London. And Jeanie and Steve my two of the kindest folks should ever meet . And any time you go to a show they will be there hands down every time to greet you. I never miss a show there.
There’s not a bad seat in the house. Great acoustics with a big venue feel, while remaining intimate. Reasonable pricing and bonus... it doesn’t take you 2 hours to leave!
Nice to view a movie on a big screen with surround sound. Would be great if they did a Star Wars marathon weekend, or Marvel Heroes (Avengers)weekend...run more movies!!!
Great space for the arts. We sang in a choral concert and the staff were warm, friendly and very competent. We stayed for a movie and found that this was a great place to watch a show. It is a beautifully restored theater
It's always a wonderful place to go with the family!
I was there for a concert. Not my first visit to this venue. I have seen other shows, and film screenings as well.
Bubble show was great!
Really nice theater and staff
Saw the Mavericks, they were awesome, but the bright lights in my face was unnecessary
Saw good ol Willy as an adolescent there used to be a bigger draw , before smart everything, still now and always will be a fan.
Went to see Janis and was the best day of my life so far!
Saw Lewis Black and he was hilarious.
What a beautiful theater. I came a few days ago to meet Nicholas Sparks. We got his new book "Every Breath" with his autograph. The event was sold out. They moved through the line pretty fast. The staff were all very polite & very helpful (they were all older ladies). The only thing I didn't like was how close the seats were to each other. I was literally seated tiled front because there wasn't enough elbow space.
Very eclectic, quaint surrounding, filled with nostalgic images but with a modern feel
Absolutely beautiful. Great seating. Good acoustics.
Beautiful to the eyes. Hard on the body. Would give the Theater 5 stars if only the seats were more accommodating for wider bottoms!
Saw Lewis Black and the show was great. Historically refurbished theatre of its era.
Great place to see a movie!
Cool venue, but staff was completely unprepared for the event which started 45 minutes late and turned into a nightmare waiting to actually meet Nicholas Sparks.
Intimate theater, great sound.the renovations they've made to this theater has made it a gem, and a real asset to New London and surrounding area.
Excellent and everyone was so nice !!
Love this theater! I've been a couple times this year & had a blast! The movie shorts were very good as well! This theater has roots to my family going back many years & my mom even worked here with the celebrities for a few years before she got sick. Love this place!
The theatre looks like It was restored. The seats were comfortable. It was a great venue
Fabulous theatre!
Great venue for concerts. Govt Mule put on an outstanding show.
Very friendly staff and a beautiful theater. Would definitely go back again.
Saw Dunkirk, Three Billboards, Mudbound, and The Post. Best movie theater going.
Beautiful old renovated theatre. Staff very friendly.
Such a beautiful theater. So many wonderful programs here. Parking is tricky though.
Great place to bring the community together and bond over a good show
First visit, Excellent experience! Will return for another show for sure.
Whst a place for a show.
Great venue -intimate performance by Lyle Lovett

Marvelous venue, well organized, comfortable & stylish...
Incredible place to go watch a show. We loved it.
Beautiful place! My sister and I went and saw the Fab Four tribute band and it was such a treat!
it was very hot when we entered then became comfortable
Beautiful old theater that is definitely worth a visit.
Wonderful New London icon! Great acoustics for music performances, plays and movies.
This place is a gem. I have seen many different shows here. They will get the Broadway roadshows, as well as play movies, host plays and shows for kids and schools, and I most recently saw a comedian. It reminds me very much of the smaller theaters in New York I used to visit. The staff is very nice and helpful. The concession stand is a bit pricey, but that is par for the course. They serve beer, wine and soda, and have candy. They may offer more in the way of food and snacks, but I am not sure.
I love the Garde. It's beautiful Morroco-inspired decor is fabulous They serve coffee, wine, beer, and snacks at the concession stand. (I've seen really good customer service there!) I recently saw the World Premier for Little Pink House, which was done fabulously, with the author of the book and the director of the movie present to give their remarks beforehand. I've seen action movies on their relatively new screen with similarly new audio system, and they've been terrific. I've seen Paula Poundstone, John Waters, (both of whom I got to meet afterwards!!!) I've seen Weird Al, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, George Thorogood, David Byrne, George Winston, Robert Cray, Kodo Drummers and the operas Porgy and Bess and Magic Flute. Watch for special events where you can interact with musicians before the show!
Love the atmosphere!
Always a great experience!
Beautiful theatre, wonderful crew
Garrison Keillor greatest show we have seen in some time more than a 5star show enjoyed the music of Robin & Williams also sang along laughed lhated to see it end
Great experience. I've seen many movies and several concerts and the staff has already been super friendly.
A nice venue for a concert. Seating is comfortable, but a little tight. Parking is also not bad and close to the venue.
