This Movie Theater corresponds to the category of Concert hall.
Great concert venue. Plenty of leg room in the front row :-)
Great live music venue. I've been to a handful of concerts here. The acts are always stellar. It's a smaller venue, so many performers stick around after the show to meet fans. Staff are helpful. Outside food is not allowed. :(
Great show. Not a bad seat in the place.
Small theater which is awesome because you get a more intimate show, but the seats are super small and if you have a big butt you will NOT be comfy.
Ridgefield Playhouse is wonderful. Recently saw live opera in HD on big screen. Terrific!
Nice venue, nice town with plenty of places to eat. If the show is sold out, parking can be a challenge.
Awesome music not too big not too small
great place to see a show.
Fantastic Phil Vasser Concert last night!
A great concert venue, good acoustics.
Good venue.
Seeing Tuesdays With Morrie was my first visit. This theater is the perfect size. There's not a bad seat in the house. The snack bar was an unexpected treat. Definitely recommend this place! ! !
Love this place!
Great shows in an intimate setting . Full bar too .
Always a great experience!
Always a great time
Comfortable, cozy space with good parking and a ton of interesting events every year. Definitely check out their website, as they have things going almost all the time.
Nice place for concerts.
Great venue to see shows. They have some great shows. Parking is easy. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby to visit before and/or after the show.
Super cool venue small homely!!
I loved seeing Toad the Wet Sprocket at this venue!
Every seat is a good seat. Always a good time.
Very intimate venue. No seat is bad.
Wow, what a small wonderful playhouse. Not a bad seat in the house.
Rock concerts are always great here.
Great acoustics
Lovely
Really beautiful theatre, lovely staff that seems invested in this landmark and the sound was great. Not a bad seat in the house.
I love the Ridgefield Playhouse, they have great shows. I just went to see Drew Cole and he was amazing!
Great small music venue!
Slept well
Small theatre , great place to see a show.
Simply the best music venue in the entire area.
Great venue, great staff. Thank you all. I give honest reviews. You can follow on the Twitter @cubbieblu72
Good view from every seat. Sound is good. Lobby gets very crowded.
Perfect friendly and excellent people
Great venue.
First time at the venue to see Randy Rainbow and there's not a bad seat in the house. Fine venue!
Intimate, friendly, and they attract great talent!
Wonderful intimate venue. Great sound. Not a bad seat in the house!!
Nice evening out
Where do I start? Tommy took the songs he composed in the 60s to a level last night that I never expected! I've been to many, many shows in my life, but Tommy James and the Shondells was by far the best I've heard based on the original recordings. Not to mention the way he went into the audience and shook hands and took pictures with all the adoring fans that were lucky enough to get near him!
The "Love Gilda" documentary is a well done and deeply satisfying tribute to a Gilda.
Place rocks every seat is great. Keep rockin.
How do you justify asking $248.00 per ticket for a cover band? Australian Bee Gees are very good but they are not the Bee Gees. I paid $145.00 per ticket to see the Rolling Stones in East Hartford a few years back.
Acoustics of the building or the sound mixing was pretty bad. Extremely hard to hear vocals in the mezzanine.
Outstanding food and service...We will drive back here just for the atmosphere...Live an hour away...Tried it first time because we were in town for a concert at the Playhouse... Nice job guys....
Comfortable and pleasant staff
A beautiful, quaint venue to see life entertainment
Great music venue. Cozy and not a bad seat in the house
Great concert with the Bacon Brothers
Singularly bad experience at this venue. I now fully understand the negative reviews I see here. The staff are horrible! Self entitled snobs who can't be bothered to answer a question, direct a patron or provide assistance of any sort. The last straw was watching bar-staff literally harass and embarrass a family we'd just been speaking to about drinking (they had not been). Think dog getting a snapped on the nose with a rolled up paper. Utterly disrespectful and rude staff across the board at this place. If you go, buy your ticket, keep your head down, sit in your seat and shut up. This place doesn't care if you're happy with the experience - they want your money and then they want you out. We'll go elsewhere from now on and urge everyone else to follow suit. There are better venues well within the region and they'll get our donations and ticket dollars going forward. Run screaming from this place!
This Is a Great Place To See Your Favorite Bands Or a Show Parking Is Great Friendly Staff And The seating In the arena Is Great Very Intimate and Wonderful Experience I highly Recommend Ridgefield Play House
This small venue hosts over 200 live shows per year. Most recently I saw Pat Benatar - she can still rock and I enjoyed.
A great venue in a small town. Even sell Moet and popcorn. A very professional run venue.
Great shows, near northern Westchester area
Great acoustics!
Great venue! Small and intimate, not a bad seat in the house. Staff was very helpful!
We had a great time. It's a medium sized venue so you are close to the action but in a place that's large enough to have great energy.
Great shows at a local venue.
Love this place !
The Prospector Movie Theater is in a category by its own design and has grown to become a cornerstone in the Ridgefield Community since its doors first opened in 2014. As the most beautifully designed and well-managed theater around, the Prospector has set the bar well out of reach of other theaters with its mission to provide meaningful employment to people with disabilities as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Those who come to marvel at this architectural masterpiece, all of which has been designed and built by a heart of gold, quickly realize that this non-profit theater is uniquely special and deserving of every dollar spent. In addition to the Prospector's noble mission, the quality of service and food deserve special mention as well. The Prospector's Heads Up Café serves the finest coffee, tea, beer, and wine around. Using organic grass-fed milk, locally sourced coffee beans, and organic caramel syrup to prepare a latte speaks volumes! Operating on empathy, compassion, and focused on genuine quality, the Prospector will remain unrivaled and unmatched by any other theater for decades to come.
Great venue. Always an interesting mix of events.
Very easy to locate with a comfortable and intimate setting. Nice and clean bathrooms and the crew was very helpful.
Nice little non profit theater. Almost all seats have a good view. They serve popcorn and candy ala a movie theater and operate a bar as well. Not a super ornate theater, bit well kept.
Intimate concert hall so not a bad seat in the house. Acoustics are great and if you are lucky to get a seat up close, you can see how they put up the sound stage.
Great place to see a show. No bad seats. Great friendly bar staff. Great vibes. No issues.
Great venue to see a show. Acoustics are good, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. Tickets tend to be a bit pricey, but if you want an intimate concert experience, this could be the place. Says themselves are not the most comfy, but really not bad. All in all worth the trip.
Great place to see a show no bad seat in the house
The show itself was great. The seating is terribly uncomfortable & dated. I paid for V. I. P. tickets, however the box office person didn't include the bracelets when the tickets were mailed to me (apparently) so I was asked to leave and go to the box office (which was closed) I had to walk around and look for an employee and found a manager. I showed him my tickets which were marked V. I. P. Bundle, just as I showed the 1st guy who ushered us out (stating they were just regular tickets), he had to go check. After a few minutes he returned with bracelets told me that they should've been mailed with the tickets but also it could've been avoided if I checked in upon arrival at the box office. We were told if we had tickets to just go right to our seats. So by the time my guest and I got back to our seats someone else was in them. I was told "oh you can just sit anywhere now" (it was a meet and greet) I had excellent seats that I paid for that because of the staffs incompetence were lost to me. I am very disappointed by the experience as far as the dropping of the ball from start to finish by the Playhouse staff. It would have to be a show that I simply couldn't miss for me to return there. I wouldn't consider donating or becoming a member at this point either. Let me reiterate the show was amazing and that was extremely enjoyable.
Very nice. Love the small venue!
At first glance the Ridgefield playhouse appears to be a standard small town arts center but looks can be deceiving. The quality of the talent and the productions that are run are of surprising high caliber and better than you'll see in many tier two cities. Even the 'local' productions are impressive in their quality and their production values. I personally also really enjoy going for the simulcasts of Metropolitan Opera House performances.
Friendly staff. Not overpriced food or drinks clean lobby and seating was comfortable. Definately going to look at membership here!
Great, intimate venue. Saw Patty Smyth there, it was absolutely fantastic!!
The Ridgefield Playhouse never fails to please us! Most of the time, it doesn't even matter where you are seated, as there isn't a bad seat in the house!
Great spot to see a show. Not too big and good acoustics.
Fantastic concerts films always something great ! We love going often and marveling how we don’t need to shlep to nyc! We’ve seen some of the greatest artists and bands right here! Even met Alan and Robin Zweibel!!!
Wonderful, wish they had a little more food options.
great show friendly staff
Great venue. Terrific sound system.
November 6 2017 went to the Playhouse to see the Comedy Workshop Graduation Showcase. Truly an outstanding show!! Gave the Playhouse 4 stars because even though the show was great, the seats are very uncomfortable.
Loved the Stephan Marley show!
Wonderful venue. Intimate, good sound. Love Beth Hart here
Very accommodating. Great show
Intimate theater. If one of your favorite acts is performing here, take the ride up.
This place is all around A+
I love my first and so far my only experience with the playhouse. At the time I went with my family to see Ralphie May. It was awesome!!!!!!!
It was wonderful experience, saw Brian Culbertson, awesome! They have a bar, tonightthere was a wine tasting & art display. They offered Ridgefield playhouse season book filled with so much info on different activities. Loved it!
A small but comfortable entertainment venue with a nice vibe I saw Tommy James and the schondells in concert. It as a nice wine and beer selection. Lots of great national acts that play or have played here.
This is a great playhouse. Comfortable seats, friendly staff, easy parking and many events.
Just saw Corrine Bailey Ray. Fine show. Great venue.
Great little intimate venue to see a show!
Great venue!
Saw Blondie perform there, what a nice place!
Staff was rude and unhelpful to the point of creating a miserable end of the evening with Thomas John. I had a VIP ticket, purchased weeks in advance, and was not given any instruction nor told I needed a VIP bracelet when I entered the venue and staff took my ticket at entrance. (VIP was printed on my ticket) When it came time for VIP meet & greet, I was told I had to leave and get a bracelet from box office. Was forced out, went to box office to retrieve my bracelet and box office was shut down and closed. Went back inside theater and told staff that box office was closed. I showed my ticket and receipt, not wanting to miss any of the VIP session. The director would not even look at my ticket or receipt and said very patronizingly to someone another staff member "this person BELIEVES she has VIP" insinuating that I was lying. Still refusing to even look at my receipt/ticket. Was ushered back to box office, she shut the theater doors shut behind us and finally got my bracelet. By the time I got back in, I missed half the Q&A. It should be noted that there were 4 or 5 others going through the same back and forth and were not informed that a special bracelet was needed when they entered either. It was not only insulting to be treated this way, but it put a really bitter taste in my mouth for the rest of the VIP portion - the largest price point of the purchase was for the VIP experience. On top of being forced to miss part of the session because the staff did not instruct anyone on needing a bracelet upon entrance or at any point until the session already began. Only once VIP session started was this information provided. They could have informed us when we arrived, when they took my ticket or at any other point in the show. The staff was rude, unapologetic and incompetent. I paid a lot of money to have that VIP experience and it was completely ruined. I will be making a formal complaint. I did not get what I paid for and was treated like a second class citizen by staff who were not helpful and wouldn't even attempt to look at my ticket/receipt to assist me, they made blind assumptions that poisoned the experience for me.
The Ridgefield Playhouse is so great. They have wonderful performances for all kinds of people. It is a true gem and so much fun. Great shows, snacks and drinks.
Can't wait to go back! Every seat in the house is great!
Seen jim bruer last nite laughed from beginning to end, hes great
Great venue! Parking not an issue. Not big. That being said, the small size makes the event feel immersive for the audience... The only "bad" seats are the floor seats on the side closest to the walls... Obstructed view of the stage. Looking forward to future events .
Great space to attend concerts, movies and other performances. Staff is great and prices are reasonable.
Great venue and excellent shows! Not a bad seat in the house.
Perfect venue for all events. Various musical preformances. Take a look at the web site. All information is there. Have a very good time!
Wonderful place to see a great show. Tonight the Marshal Tucker Band was great!
Small theater with not a bad seat in the house . This picture was from the back wall.
This has become my favorite place to see a concert. It's not too big and not too small. Tickets are only available from the box office or web site, so no dealing with Ticketmaster. The drive is easy and so is the parking. The theater has been restored and is super clean and comfortable. I like this place so much, I feel I shouldn't be telling anyone. It should be a secret.
Nice theatre. Saw production of the Blues as brothers. Well done.
Very easy parking, kind staff and quick service. Would absolutely go again.
Tommy James and the Shondell's, great concert.
Great place
Love seeing shows here!
Super great venue. This place gets great artists.
Great venue! Non-Profit which means they don't scalp their own tickets like some other venues do. Great acoustics, ample parking, excellent staff who are always accommodating and a very robust schedule with more than 200 live shows each year consisting of some very prominent acts. The artists love playing at the venue and return again and again. Respectful and appreciative audiences. The artists are made to feel like they are playing to friends in their living rooms. My favorite venue by far and I have been to them all.
Great place to see a show, good sound and close and personal. We paid more and sat close Marshal Tucker.
Great night at the playhouse last night, felt like I was in New Orleans!
Cozy venue. All seats have a good view of the stage. Only complaint is that the staff seat patrons that arrive late during the show which is very disruptive.
Wonderful venue with great acts and performances.
Went to go see The Machine play Pink Floyd. All seats are good seats simply because of the size of the theater. Acoustics were acceptable for the size. However I had 2 issues. 1) The seats are incredibly narrow. Anyone with a larger frame or who is wearing thick layers is going to have comfort issues. This used to be a school, so it makes sense, just bear that it mind. 2) While check in was fast and there was no significant waiting because it's a small venue, I wasn't patted down, but all the guys in my group were. We had also left with a drink we purchased from inside during intermission to get some air, and came back in and were forced by security to throw it away. I understand no outside drinks during initial entry, but not even during intermission? I guess it makes sense, but it certainly doesn't encourage me to visit the concession stand again. This theater is better suited for smaller shows like stand up comedians or less well-known bands. It gets a little tricky when the crowd gets larger.
Friendly and inviting atmosphere! In my opinion, the playhouse is the perfect size for a show especially considering that there is not a seat in the house that has a bad view. AND the staff was helpful and very kind!
Very old style playhouse but.....the staff is helpful and nice, they have a selection of good beverages, no bad seat in the place and it's an intimate venue with good acoustics. Southside Johnny was pretty darn good!!
Nice venue; every seat is good.
Love this place! Great venue to see a show. Fantastic sound. Awesome seats.
I enjoyed seeing many Genesis tributes including Steve Hackett himself at Ridgefield. Thanks for keeping this music alive!
Saw Buddy Guy nice small venue. Ticket prices are a bit pricey but worth it.
Great acoustics, comfortable seating. Great variety of performances.
The manager Jay was fantastic! He fixed our chair within minutes. He's a keeper!
Very nice and intimate place. Seats great
Great place to see a show. Not a bad seat in the house. They do an amazing job of booking good bands.
An amazing place to enjoy a show!!
Not a bad seat in the house.
Not a bad seat in the house. Great sound too!!
Quality programming in a small setting. Worth the trip if you don't live in the area.
Beautiful venue with good acoustics, a great place to see performances.
Great show...not a bad seat there...easy to get there ... friendly atmosphere..
Great facility, fantastic soundsystem, intimate atmosphere
It's the perfect venue for the acoustic concert I saw.
Great place, went to Brian Culbertson. The only dislike is they crammed over 100 people in you in a 20x20 tiny room before the show so you can buy from the snack bar and Bar. Can't move.
Everything they do is done right.
Beautiful place to see a concert or movie. The acoustics are amazing. There isn't a bad seat in the house. Great drink selection and good prices once you get in the door.
A beautiful theatre, great to enjoy films at, convenient parking.
What a great venue. Good sound and not a bad seat in the house. Another bathroom would be nice
I saw a Rodrigo y Gabriella there and I got proposed to by my fiance it was a great experience. I had front row seats and the show was awesome!
Elegant venue. Experienced staff and krewe
An intimate setting - we look forward to going back for another performance.
It is after much careful consideration that we write this negative review. The decision was not taken lightly. My husband and I have visited live venues across the globe. It's our passion. We've been to Ridgefield Playhouse 6 times in the past 2 years, subsequent to relocating to this area. Initially we were so happy to find this venue that we even become donors. That all stops now. We have consistently received such abysmal client service at this venue. Staff is regularly bored, disinterested, rude or some obnoxious combination thereof. We have seen near-abuse of elderly patrons asking for assistance, abrupt security staff, outrageously rude (and frankly, obnoxious) wait- and bar-staff and even venue management has no concern. We've reached out, we've asked for call-backs, sent email and letters. There is never concern or response forthcoming. Starting next week, we will go elsewhere when there's a local show we'd like to see. Tarrytown Music Hall, The Capitol Theater, Wall Street Theater . . . and so many more. We'll NEVER darken the doorstep of Ridegfield Playhouse again.
I live in Ridgefield and have been here many times. My only reason for writing is to warn you NOT to heed the inexplicably ubiquitous comment, "There's not a bad seat in the house." That is simply not true. I had the single worst concert going experience I've ever had in my life sitting in the back row in the balcony a few years ago. Unless they no longer sell that row, beware. What was extra frustrating was that the manager woman acted like I was the only person who ever mentioned the problem. The row actually drops down a good six inches from the row in front of that one. You CANNOT see a THING unless you stand up or sit on the unfolded seat, both dangerous decisions. To make things worse, those seats are right next to large technical equipment which was an eyesore. The fact that they could sell those seats told me a lot about their management, and I have never renewed my membership since that time. And the people next to me complained as well, of course. They also saw nothing for two hours. I actually didnt return after intermission. That back row was the only remaining choice for me at the time of purchase because the concert was almost sold out. But I believed the box office staff when they parroted the gem, "There's not a bad seat in the house." You've been warned.
Intimate venue with good parking options.
Great spot to see a show
First time there and the whole experience was perfect. Saw Adam trent and it was a great time.
Small intimate venue. We had great seats for the Bacon Brothers......1st row
Nice atmosphere and acoustics. With auditorium seating, it is unfortunate that the management allows late comers to enter during the first set. Tickets are expensive.
Great small concert venue
Great small venue with great acoustics.
We've seen five amazing shows in the last few months. Love this place
A very intimate venue with acts that please all.
great place to watch a show
Nice theater seats a little small.
Great place, not a bad seat in the house. Loved seeing Daughtry.
Always a great time here. Been here numerous times and it's great that we have the Playhouse in town. Lots of great shows close by. They will be expanding in the near future.
