My husband and I came here for the first time tonight and we both agreed that it was the best movie experience we have ever had! The mission of the prospect theatre to provide employment to adults with disabilities is obviously amazing and well - worth supporting in itself. But it is also just a truly warm, joyful and beautiful environment to watch movies. It doesn't have that vaguely stale/ depressing atmosphere you find in your average amc, loewes etc. It feels new, airy , clean, beautifully decorated, full of artistic and thoughtful details. The screening rooms themselves are just so luxurious -- we watched our movie from the comfort of amazing full recliners. Even the bathrooms are stunning! And the staff were warm and lovely -- it felt like stepping into a real community. All in all we could not recommend it more highly and plan to make it our regular theater from now on!

The building itself is really a great space, but the real reason for its existence is to employ people with disabilities of all kinds and give them the opportunity to have a job doing many different things related to the running of a movie theater, including baking fresh goods that are sold on premises, popping fresh popcorn all day, and of course selling tickets, ushering and cleaning up after each show. The shows are priced fairly along side other theaters in the area, or even a little lower, to see first run movies with fresh snacks, coffee, beer, wine in a new theater with very comfy seats spaced nicely apart so everyone can see the screen. This was our first visit and definitely not our last. We will be happy to drive from Ardsley to see movies so we can support this unique, ground breaking theater.

The architect who designed and built the place should have statue in the the lobby. The seats are ultra comfy and the place is spotless. The use of buildings material both hard and soft are outstanding. In addition to the concession stand is a full serve coffee shop. You have to visit to absorb the full experience.

Easily the greatest theater ever. If you are lucky, the movie you are watching is getting played in Theater 3, where they switch out beanbags or recliners as the seats for the front two rows. Also, it employs many people with special needs, who would otherwise go jobless. They have an amazing cafe, and the Star Bar, and for both you can bring your food into the movie. There are no downsides to this theater.

Very impressed. I didn't even know there was a movie theater in Ridgefield until today. It's a very clean, modern looking space with a friendly vibe to it. Staff was excellent! I checked out their website later, and found that it's actually a nonprofit organization that provides employment for the disabled. Can't think of a better place to spend my money and see a movie. Parking is limited but there is a large lot just across the street with plenty of free parking. Will definitely come back and hopefully come early enough to try the cafe or restaurant.

If not for the mere fact that everyone is very nice, the theatre is super clean, it is beautiful and well decorated, they have a lovely coffee shop and they have 4 different and very unique screens that will give you a completely delightful experience each time but above that the mission this organization has created is amazing and much needed. I urge you to find out more about Prospector and to give it a try. After that you will find it as amazing and fun as I do.

The viewing rooms have seating to accommodate wheelchairs and seating spaced further apart for people who feel uncomfortable sitting too close together. They have ample parking and their lobby is spacious. This theater hires and supports people with disabilities and the founder designed the space to accommodate them. Everybody wins.

I arrived 20 minutes prior to the movie start time and the previews prior to the movie are fantastic. The theatre puts together their own advertisements with the staff. The seating and lighting also outshines my local theatre in scranton. The theatre seats here are so comfortable. Every theatre should take notes from the prospector.

Heard a lot of good things about this new theater and finally I took my wife out for a date last night to see Brad Pitt's Allied. The theater is well done. Spacious, clean and aesthetically pleasing. The staff are friendly and helpful. And you can't beat half price senior day for all shows all day. I think it is a very admirable mission of the owner who spent a fortune for the community and to benefit the young people with handicap. Parking during the day could be a problem. But for the evening show, the library is close and there was plenty of spaces.

Great movie experience! I live previously in Cherry Hill, NJ and we had the "RITZ" theater, an 8 theater with high end seats, coffee and pastries. It was eventually sold to a chain theater group and the quality suffered. Prospected theater far surpasses the Ritz in its hay day. I also like the fact that they support mentally challenged employees. I go at least 3x per month.

I’ve been a customer since the theater opened, and today my friends and I made plans to see a movie. I bought a ticket for one showing online, and when my friends went to buy theirs, they found that all the tickets for that showing were sold out. When I called the box office to ask that they change my ticket to the next showing of the movie, 15 minutes later, I was flatly told that there were no refunds or exchanges. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask that the theater accommodate a situation like mine, but nevertheless, I was told that I have to eat the first ticket and buy a new one. This is a poor policy that reflects badly on the theater and management.

This is an amazing place. If you are visiting town please stop by for a movie. It's a modern theater and is mostly manned by persons with special abilities. You will leave feeling elated. Also this place is modern with out looking overly commercial like an AMC.

This place is amazing. When you walk in all of the prospects are so happy. They are some of the nicest people I have ever met. The bake goods are really good. I highly recommend the shortbread. Wow. If this is not a clean theater to you then you have some high standards. This place was spot less. The popcorn was good, not to salty. Moderate prices and all money goes to the prospects mission. I would not even think twice about going back. Looking forward to making this place a usual place to go to the movies, and yes I live a hour away. Believe me this place is worth it.

I visited for the first time this evening for a 7:15 show, and despite it being a peak time on a Friday, it didn’t feel overwhelming or crowded. I do recommend getting there early to find parking and to get in your seat by showtime as the film started right on time! I’ll definitely give them my business instead of the big movie theater chains from now on.

Best place to see a movie with (or even without) kids. Multiple (small) theaters some with bean bag chairs in front which are great for fidgety kids. Wine and coffee bar for the adults and great prices on snacks and popcorn for the kiddos. All run by adults with special needs who make you feel so welcome from the minute you enter thru the front door to the "hosts" within each theater.
