Been going here for over 20 years. Just saw Manchester By The Sea and there was a projection problem. When I pointed it out to the ticket guy, he acknowledged it was a maintenance issue. Offered nothing - not even an apology and was a little sarcastic about it. I understand things can go wrong but in the name of simple courtesy and professionalism, I would have hoped for a better response. I believe the teenager collecting tickets at the local multi flex would have been nicer about it

Old school Small Town Cinema. This one happens to be in the small town that we live in, so we're a little bit partial to it. I used to come here to see Independent films when I was much younger, now they do first-run movies on a smaller screen and charge a little bit less than you'd expect to pay at a big movie theater. Very awesome laid-back atmosphere right in the heart of Niantic Connecticut a Scenic and beautiful coastal town. Walk across the street to go on to our two-mile Boardwalk on the ocean or just stroll down Main Street do some shopping or enjoy a meal at one of the Cozy bistros in town.

Its a Nice Little theatre, with that small town feel, but i think the seating needs to be brought into this era... i personally have needs for a different size seat.. & this cinema doesnt even have handicapped seating options.. believe me ive tried.. but the width of the seats i simply dont fit in.. & Having 3-D Options would be nice also... just saying

This little town theatre has always been a treat since I was 12 years old. A conveniently located parking lot in the back is handy. Clean and well maintained. Needs better signage for prices of popcorn and drinks and candy. I was lost as to what they had, where to line up, what the prices were and how to get candy...

Great place to catch a movie, especially if you're local. Prices are good. They always have the latest movies too. I used to come here when I was a kid, and I think some updates would be great, such as new upholstery on the seats and maybe more lights on the floor. My husband is legally blind and it is very difficult to see in the darkness if you leave your seat for popcorn, etc., after the movie starts. Sound system is a bit outdated too. But for a cozy little theater in our beloved Niantic, it really is great. ❤

Five nice little cinemas, with an old-fashioned feel. Six dollar tickets on Wednesdays, and they hold their own when it comes to providing newer movies... MUCH cozier than Lisbon Landing cinemas. My favorite by far!

A local favorite of my friends and mine when we want to go to a friendly, clean,reasonable movie theatre. Management shows the latest features, seating is easily assessable and hearing devices are available. A Cinema card will give you a free ticket after so many punches on the card. Also it will give you a free popcorn and soda. Worth the money, it has senior rates also and specials on Wednesday’s. It is a treasure in the Cosy town of Niantic.

Sure it's a bit funky by "modern" standards but who needs all that extra stuff? Usually 1 or 2 decent films along with the blow 'em ups they need to run to survive. It and the DQ make for the perfect night on the town ...

I grew up going here. In an age of 3D and lazy boy theater chairs, Niantic cinema sticks with its roots. Go grab a drink at the black sheep, walk over 100 paces to the theater, grab a popcorn and a bag of candy you can scoop up and custimize, and catch a flick. You won't regret it. What can I say, I'll always love it.

Love the local cinemas. Niantic Cinema theres Never a crowd, affordable ticket pricing. First run movies. While it looks small from the street they have a lot of theaters in that space. They offer a military discount and reduced tickets to everyone on Wednesday.

This is not a state of the art multiplex. HOWEVER, it is a nice small town place that doesn't gouge you for every penny. The staff are friendly and helpful. The popcorn was fresh which isn't always the case elsewhere. They have specials during the week that make taking your whole family to the movies relatively inexpensive. Family of four with popcorn and drinks $40 during the week. Sound and picture quality were very good, so although the building is historic, the equipment is not.

This is a lovely hometown type theater. We saw Schlinder's List last night. I have seen it on tv of course, but the power of the big screen really brought it to life. Wonderful to see an older movie again in the setting it was designed for. Plus Wednesday was only $6!

This Cinema is affordable. It is clean and well maintained. It may not have luxury seating, but the seats are not uncomfortable. They show all the latest new releases and have a punch card reward system for free movie tickets and concessions.

An excellent local theater, and one that I return to frequently when I’m in Connecticut. Prices are competitive with the major chains, and posters of older films evoke a classic theater atmosphere. There are more screens and availability than you might think given the small size. The location is right in the heart of downtown Niantic with dining, drinking, and shopping options all within walking distance

Like stepping back in time to my childhood, Niantic Cinema is exactly the hometown style movie theater I’ve been looking for. Tucked in the adorable Main Street of Niantic, this smaller movie theater offers showings of current box office favorites for a fraction of the cost of the big theaters. Though this theater may not have all the bells and whistles the fancy, expensive movie theaters have (no need for plush, reclining chairs, thanks) what this theater does have is the feeling of NOSTALGIA. The candy that you scoop, reasonably priced concessions, and the classic movie theater feel all made me feel like a kid again, enchanted to go to the movies. In the rare event I go to the movies, this is where I see them now.

Nice cozy cinema for the whole family to enjoy a movie or two together. Some of the seat are squeak and can be distracting especially if it's a family movie and children are playing in them. It's a nice place nonetheless.

This is my hometown theater; I love going to this place because it's close to my house and the prices are cheaper than you'd get in Westbrook or Waterford. The lobby is full of posters of old movies; and it's really improved since they did the upgrade about 5 years ago. Parking is great; with a parking lot across the street and a larger one in back.

If you are looking to save money this is the place. Price of three tickets at Regal Luxury Cinemas in Waterford was almost $50. Tickets at Niantic we're $7.50 for kids and military, with popcorn we spent less the $30. Yes it's an older theater, yes it's smaller, but we'll worth the savings. They play all the same current movies and Niantic has much more to do before and after the show. Friendly staff, street parking right out front.

Niantic Cinemas is a nice local cinema. There are four theaters, and all are first-run movies. This is a traditional cinema, so the seating is a little tight compared to the two luxury cinemas in the area. That said, this is a great spot for catching a movie then having dinner or taking a walk down the Niantic Boardwalk.

Niantic Cinemas - Niantic, CT - 5/30/2015 This is a quaint local theatre in a beach community. You'd never know it by the looks outside but there are actually 5 theaters inside of this building. They run the latest movies and unlike a lot of theaters, the jumbo popcorn is just that... Jumbo! And as a bonus they over fill the tub... Yum. They have a great selection of candy also... Its primarily an older crowd that goes there so often times if you go the the late show the place will be almost empty. On opening night of Furious 7 there were maybe 20 people in the entire place and that was the early showing. Great place to go!

This theater is a local treasure like so many other things in this little town. They get first-run movies and art movies that I don't see running elsewhere. There is a small cocession stand for snacks. Great prices. Parking available in the front on the street and in the back.

20170908 A woman actually took a cell call during the film... The EXIT sign to the right of the stage is white with red letters - very bright and distracting - ruins the ambiance of the nice theater. The whole theater is illuminated by this white light (the EXIT sign on the left is red glowing letters - much easier on the eyes - see: Purkinje effect). Also, please oil the seat hinges - WD-40? The seats are so squeaky that that noise, plus the bright light, really spoiled the opening-night viewing of "IT". The film was great - the venue nice - our experience: Meh
