I like this theater but construction was going on during the movie. Very noisy and totally distracting. I feel they should have told us ahead about it and then at least we could have made the decision to wait and go another time.

This cinema has a very "local" feel, unlike those larger chain cinemas. There's a very diverse selection of movies that you can't find in the large chains.

First at York Square Cinema and now at Madison Theater, I have appreciated opportunity to enjoy movies made for adults. Knowing that I can easily access a foreign language film, an indie filmmaker, or a movie from a lesser known director has been a real asset since moving to Madison. The Cinema Club has been another gift. Thank you.

It is always a delightful experience to view a movie at the Madison Art Cinemas. Relaxing, comfortable, A/C not too cold, decent popcorn and volume levels appropriate for the theater sizes. Reminds me of the movie theater in a favorite date movie of mine from long ago "Summer of '42". Young people today might call Madison Art Cinemas retro. I call them classy and inviting. Either way, expect to have a good time.

5 stars for still being in business! Set smack dab in the center of town, the theater is "refreshing". It's not large at all but has a nice "small town" vibe. The titles they show are fantastic. The screens are "smallish" but proportionally speaking right in line with the "big boxes". Parking is challenging but you can use the "Post office" parking or Stop & Shop if it's too crowded. The town center is full of small shops including Olive Oil, Coffee, Books... It's worth it to arrive early or stay late to check it out.
